Hi, guys! so this is the rewrite of the old version, so I hope you like it, ENJOY!

The City of Gold

Ionia- Zhyunia, Zhyun

Along the shores of the Ionian Island of Zhyun, stands a lonely man, around his 20s, he looked more Shuriman than Ionian, holding a shovel in his right hand, donning a black and red robe, hood over his head and wisps of shadows surrounding him. He stood in front of two graves, the one on the right labeled 'Iskander' and the left one labeled 'Mahal'. He kneeled in front of the graves and gave a prayer of respect before digging into the grave on the right. He pulled out the skull of the corpse and stared at it for gods knows how long.

Behind him, another man around his age stood topless, his left arm looking more demonic than human, his red left eye rivaling his blue right eye, on his back a scythe with a single eye which constantly twitches, iching to be free. This man was known as Kayn, the shadow reaper.

"Do you really want to do this?" Kayn asked, arms crossed as he stood there.

The man looked back at Kayn, skull still in his hand, his natural blood red eyes glowing with power while the shadows around him began to swirl faster.

"I have to Kayn… I need to. For them." He said, looking down on both the graves. Kayn looked at his friend, a sad expression on his face.

"That city means nothing to you now, why go back there?" Kayn asked once more. " You have everything you need here, a clan, a home, a purpose, why return to Piltover?"

The man stood still, he looked back at the shores of Ionia, beyond the horizon of the Guardian sea, he closed his eyes to remember his home, the City of Gold.

Flashback

10 years ago, Piltover- City Square

A fourteen-year-old Caitlyn Kiramman was happily walking around the City's Square with her books in her arms. After a long day of school, it was nice to have some peace of mind in this part of Piltover.

It was a wonderful day for her, especially for other Piltovians. The day was bright blue as the ocean, the sun glowing golden rays of light on the City of Progress, the air fresh as the blooming flowers nearby. It couldn't get any better than this.

She found a bench to sit on as she allowed the windy breeze to blow against her allowing her hair to flow in the air. She brought out a paper bag which held her snack for the afternoon, a delicious blueberry cupcake.

She was about to eat it when she felt a presence behind her, looming behind her back with some strange intentions, as an instinct she grabbed the stranger's hands and flipped whoever it was over her while sitting on the bench, the stranger landed with a large thud and landing on their back in front of the young girl.

Caitlyn took the time to quickly analyze the figure who was now before her. It was a boy. He looked around 5 foot and 3 inches tall. He had a tanned complexion. He had dark curly brown hair that reached the back of his neck. He was rather slim, not enough muscle but not too thin. He looked around her age-if not older. He looked rather handsome for someone slim─Caitlyn will admit that. But it was his eyes that acquired her interest, they were blood-red, they were not bloodshot, they were really blood─red, it was weird, not too weird, it was normal for people to be born of a variety of hair colors and irises, but his were a rare red, it looked beautiful.

The mysterious boy then groaned in pain as he tried to stand up and remove the dust of his clothes. "Ow─damn girl, you could have broken my back if you had flipped me any harder" the stranger complained as Caitlyn recognized the voice as the one belonging to someone she knew very well.

"Eli?" Caitlyn said.

"Yep, your one and only Eliyās Bloodborne─ ow! Did you really have to flip me though?" the now identified Eli asked.

Eli was one of Caitlyn's best friends. Actually, that was a lie, he was her only friend. They were both misfits in their school, and because of that they got pretty well together. Eli was the son and heir of the Bloodborne clan, one of Piltover's ruling clans and the most influential figure in the city of Piltover, his mother was a Shuriman and his father was a Noxian. They were known for making Piltover's buildings, roads, and public centers, they were also known for creating the Piltover Railway system when one of his ancestors built a train station which spreads throughout Piltover and its skyline, they were going to build a subway system for Zaun but that idea was scraped, they also built weapons for the Wardens of Piltover, and occasionally, they would sell the weapons to the Noxians. Other than that, Clan Bloodborne is very powerful.

Caitlyn helped Eli stand up as she gave him a hand to maintain his balance. His style was rather rebellious, he looked more like a punk rather than the son of the most powerful family in Piltover, he was wearing a black leather jacket while wearing a white buttoned shirt and a red neck tie, he wore black and red striped pants that were tied with a spiked belt while he was wearing black combat boots, he also had black fingerless gloves with spikes, he had two brass knuckles that had 'Blood' on the right brass knuckle and 'Borne' on the left. His style may look provocative against a normal Piltovan, but to Caitlyn, he looked charming in it, it fits with his rebellious nature and the fact that he goes into fights with the bullies in school much to Caitlyn's protest for him to stop that. In other words, Caitlyn liked his style.

"Why were you behind me in the first place, you could have come in front and greeted me?" Caitlyn asked as they sat down on the bench.

"Well, there won't be any fun, isn't that right my Pretty Bullet?" he said with a smile that made Caitlyn blush, he was considered the only man that Caitlyn will admit as handsome, much to Jayce's dismay.

"W─Well, I wouldn't have hurt you if you weren't trying to creep up on me," she said with her arms crossed, face still red.

Eli laughed as he enjoyed making Caitlyn flustered all the time, he enjoyed making his only friend red in the face, he loved spending time with Caitlyn, he would never admit this to anyone, but he had a crush on Caitlyn since they became friends. But there was only one thing that made him nervous and confused all the time, her preference. There are times Caitlyn would be flustered around pretty girls and their flirting, same thing happens when around rather handsome boys, he couldn't tell if she was lesbian, straight, or a bit of both making her bi. So, for safety measures to avoid getting rejected if she was lesbian, he kept his feelings for her a secret. But he cannot deny her beauty, those beautiful Azul eyes, her dark hair of blue, her rather cute face, and the fact that every time they hug, she felt perfect in his arms, he always makes sure to remind her of her beauty every day while making fun of her with his nickname for her, bullet, since she likes using a rifle. For someone so young, she was rather an excellent shot, never seeming to miss, and probably be better than the sheriff of Piltover.

"Anyway, what brings you here?" Caitlyn asked as she finally ate her cupcake in hand.

"My parents wanted to bring me to the Bloodborne Oil Plant in the Guardian's Sea, and said it's about time I learned about the family business" Eli said. Caitlyn looked sad from what he said, she didn't want him to leave her as he was her only friend in all of Piltover besides Jayce.

"Oh", is all Caitlyn said.

"You sound disappointed"

"No, it's just… be back safe, yeah?" Caitlyn asked.

"Of course I'll be back, Don't worry" Eli said.

"Promise?" she held out a pinky.

"Promise" he wrapped his pinky around hers, Eli was tempted to hold her hand but restrained himself, this is the closest he would get in holding her hand.

"So, when are you guys leaving?" Caitlyn asked.

"Tomorrow at dawn" Eli told her, Caitlyn was rather sad that today was their last day together, then an idea came up in her head.

"Well then, since this is your last day here in Piltover, we should spend the entire afternoon by ourselves" she told Eli. Eli agreed to her idea as he wanted to spend his last day here with Caitlyn. But what would they do?

"Well, what do you have in mind?"

"Well, I was thing that we could go to the carnival at the bay─"

"We go there like tons of times"

"We could try going out of the city walls and─"

"We wouldn't make it in time before they close the city walls"

"Well, we could always visit Jayce and─"

"That guy? No offense but he's rather boring to some extent─"

"Well, then what do you have in mind?" Caitlyn had her hands on her hips after Eli rejected all her ideas.

"I was wondering if we could go on the date" he muttered to himself, not thinking that Caitlyn was listening, but listening she was, Caitlyn went eye wide by his response, she always told herself that if she would go on a date with a guy, it would always be Eli.

"That's… not a bad idea actually" she told him.

"What's not a bad idea?"

"Going on a date"

"Wha─ Oh shit" Eli smacked himself for letting that slip.

"Language!"

"Sorry, but… are you sure you really want to go on a date?" Eli asked.

"I mean, why not? It's your last day here, might as well make it memorable" Caitlyn explained. Eli took a moment to agree to Caitlyn then asked.

"Ok, so what kind of date are we going on?"

"Hmm, well I don't want to just spend it on a restaurant, maybe… at the theater?" Caitlyn suggested.

"That's a great idea, so… wear something nice?"

"You too," Caitlyn replied, and the two friends parted ways to prepare for their date tonight.

The Bloodborne Estate at Bluewind Court

Bluewind Court was the place for many of Piltover's influential people, the Kirammans, Ferros, and many more. But the one that stood out was the Bloodborne estate, a giant white marble mansion with golden trimmings and red flags with two sharp-triangle-like-B-shapes facing away from each other looking like a butterfly, which was the Bloodborne crest, hanging outside it. Eli walked into the stone paved floor of his home and opened the giant wooden and golden doors in front of him.

"Ealdræd! I need my best suit for tonight!" The young Bloodborne shouted. Suddenly out of nowhere, a Yordle appeared in front of Eli, he had a nice black suit with a white buttoned up shirt along with a red bowtie, a red towel was hanging from his left arm while his right was behind his back, he had a chevron mustache on his face and had yellow fur and big ears.

"Master Bloodborne, best suit you say sir? Well then, follow me" Ealdræd said.

As Eli followed his butler/friend, they walked up the red-carpet staircase up to the second floor where they went to the west wing, which was displayed with multiple paintings of his ancestors, and golden Shuriman artifacts that his father scavenged in the Shuriman dessert, one notably was a royal Shuriman guard helmet with golden bracers. The paintings showed his ancestors, Eustathius Mawlud Min Aldima, Aristodemos Bloodborne, Demophon 'Bloodborne, Farah Mawlud Min Aldima, Anastasia Bloodborne, and finally his father and mother, Iskander and Mahal Bloodborne, his father was an Noxian businessman and his mother was very influential figure in Piltover politics.

After a while both men reached and walked into Eli's bedroom, it was huge as expected from a young rich boy like Eli. The walls were painted red, and the ceiling and floorboards were painted black. Posters of punk bands were stuck to the wall along with a bunch of papers with drawings scattered all over the east wall. In front of it was a study table with said jetpack with wings and a giant magnifying glass looking into the inside of the jetpack, the table also consisted of multiple books with the topics used for school. The northern wall was Eli's bed, which surprisingly, was small, which makes sense since he is the only one who sleeps in the room. Next to the bed was a small cabinet with a lantern on top along with an alarm clock and a picture of Eli and his parents. The window was a huge circle with the Bloodborne crest decorated on it along with red curtains. Next to the window was a chest that held valuable items to Eli, next to the chest was a hidden door which led both men into the walk-in closet. Inside the walk-in closet was a variety of clothes, ranging from leather jackets, boots, watches, jewelry, suits, t-shirts, etc.

"Master Bloodborne, not to be rude to ask, but what are you planning tonight that requires your best suit?" Ealdræd asked, a moment of silence took over the two before Eli spoke.

"I asked Caitlyn to go on a date with me," he muttered.

"I'm sorry, could you please repeat that sir?" Ealdræd said.

"I said I asked Caitlyn to go on a date with me" Eli repeated, a little louder than he intentionally wanted. Ealdræd looked at Eli before a huge grin that made Eli a bit scared.

"Caitlyn, as in Caitlyn Kiramman? Daughter of the councilor and member of Clan Kiramman?" Ealdræd asked. Eli nodded. Ealdræd must have been very amused just by looking at the grin he had on that face of his.

"Let me guess, the theater?" Eli nodded once more.

"Well then sir, I suppose this will suffice for tonight" Ealdræd said as he presented to Eli a fine-looking suit. It was a red and black suit, the coat was red with floral designs, the collar was black with gold trimmings on it, the button shirt was black with a red necktie that also had floral design to it. The pants were fine-looking black khaki pants with nice shiny black shoes. The watch that came with it was gold, the watch itself was a black with golden numerals and clock hands. Overall, it was the best suit he will have for tonight.

"Thank you Ealdræd" Eli thanked his butler friend, Ealdræd then left the young man to change before giving him advice. "Oh, and Master Bloodborne?"

"Yes?"

"Be yourself" Ealdræd gave him a small smile before leaving Eli alone to change into his suit. Eli smiled to himself, he was glad to have friends like Ealdræd and Caitlyn.

Meanwhile, Ealdræd was walking down the path to the kitchen to prepare dinner when he overheard the voice of Iskander Bloodborne ring from his office, the Yordle butler stood for a while to listen to the conversation.

"yes, yes I know, I swear, we will be there in 10 days, but about the plans… Of course, I would be a fool to have anyone other than my wife to know about the plans… yes, yes, Godspeed to you as well, Mistress LeBlanc'' the call ended for Iskander Bloodborne as he sat on his chair in his office, he looked at the blueprint in front of him as it depicted a giant building, his wife, Mahal Bloodborne was just in the corner, watching her husband stress himself to the fullest.

Ealdræd decided that it was best for him to start preparing dinner right now, instead of eavesdropping, he had a sad expression on his small Yordle face the whole time, he was worried for the future for the young heir, if only he knew what his parents are a part of.

Nighttime- The Piltovian Theatre

Caitlyn was outside the theater waiting for Eli to show up. She was dressed in a beautiful blue gown with a jacket since it was cold at night, her hair was tied to a bun and she was carrying a small purse in her left arm. After waiting for what felt like a few minutes, a Hextech automobile stopped in front of her as her best friend stepped out of the vehicle and thanked his driver for dropping him off.

As soon Eli laid eyes on her, she could have thought to have seen him look away to cover his nose to stop blood from leaking out. He looked back at her and his mouth was still open.

"Wow," Eli muttered. Caitlyn blushed a little but smiled as her friend appreciated her outfit.

"You don't look so bad yourself" Caitlyn responded to Eli's get up. He looked dashing in the red floral suit, his hair was well brushed and he had that amazing megawatt smile that always seemed to make her legs go jelly. This seemed to kick Eli out of his trance as he blinked several times as he heard her response.

"Uh… yeah, hehe, so you ready?" Eli asked and Caitlyn nodded.

"So, what are we watching?" Caitlyn asked curiously as there were several plays scheduled for tonight.

"Well, it's called the Fellowship of the Ring, featuring a few midgets, a dwarf, an elf, a wizard and two other guys," Caitlyn nodded.

Once they entered the theater, they bought their tickets and took seats in the house seats to get the best view of the play.

Once the play started, Caitlyn leaned her head on Eli's shoulder as Eli looked down on her with a raised eyebrow and gave an amused smile.

"Well, what got you to relax, my Beautiful Bullet?" and just at the right moment, Caitlyn got a red blush on her face, but then smiled a little while looking at Eli.

"Thank you"

"For what?"

"For bringing me on this date" Caitlyn responded, Eli had a warm smile as he leaned his head on top of Caitlyn's. They stayed in that position for the entire play.

Once the play was finished, both of them went back to the City Square where they decided to wait for their guardian/parents to pick them up.

"So, this is it huh?" Caitlyn asked.

"Not exactly, remember, I will come back, I promise" Eli reassured her. Caitlyn wanted to accept that, but doubt kept crossing her mind. She never doubted him, why feel it now?

The both of them found the bench they always sat on. After a while, they still stayed quiet for a while until Eli stood up and straightened his suit.

"Dance with me" he said as he held out a hand for Caitlyn to take.

"Huh?"

"Dance with me"

"Oh, ok" Caitlyn stood up and held her hand out to Eli. Both teens stood in front of each other and slowly swayed together in the silence of the night, the moon shining silver down upon them, the city lights shining gold around them, and the stars twinkling above them. They looked each other in the eye, red and blue, put it together you get Violet (AN: see what I did there? No? You'll get it). They stayed like that until the Hextech automobile from earlier came back with a honk of a horn ringing in the air, both Eli and Caitlyn let go of each other and gave each other a sheepish smile.

"Well, I guess this is goodnight"

"Yeah…" Caitlyn said but in a sad tone.

"Hey…" Eli put a finger under her chin and lifted her head up so she could look at him.

"I told you, I'll be back" he said as he let go of her chin and started to walk back to the automobile, that is until he felt a hand grab his and felt a pair of lips land on his left cheek. He looked to see a blushing Caitlyn looking down on the floor.

"Goodnight" she said.

"Yeah, yeah… goodnight" he said, shocked at his best friend's actions, not that he is complaining. Soon he entered the automobile and saw a smiling Ealdræd looking at him.

"Not. A. Word" and soon, the silent night was ripped open by a maniacal laughter by one Yordle butler.

10 days later, Guardian's Sea-Bloodborne Oil Platform

The ship they rode on came to a full stop when they arrived at the Oil Platform. It stopped right behind a massive black and red steampunk ship with the Noxian flag. As the plank to step out of the ship was set up, Eli looked at the Oil Platform to examine it, it was huge, the architectural design of it looked more Noxian than Piltovian, but it still managed to be identified as a Piltovian Oil Platform owned by Clan Bloodborne.

They were greeted by the managers and workers of the Platform, Eli saw all the men waving at him and he waved back. As they entered the elevator, he noticed his father was sweating a lot.

"Dad, you ok?" Eli asked. His father looked down on him and nodded furiously.

"Yes, yes, yes, I'm okay, perfectly fine." Eli gave his father one last weird glance before reaching the desired floor, it was a big red hall with multiple doors on each side, the ceiling was high, some air vents can be seen above in between each door. They were greeted by men and women in lavish clothing, some of them he recognized as the Piltovian Elite, the others were in black and red suits, dresses and armor, but the one who stood out the most was a pale woman, she wore a purple dress, held a staff and wore a three point crown on her head.

"Ah, Iskander, it's so good that the host of our meeting has finally arrived" the pale woman walked up to Eli's father and held up a hand food Iskander to kiss, which he did.

Eli's mother then motioned Eli to approach her so she could tell him something, Eli obliged and came forward.

"Eli, be a dear and wait out here for a while" she told him.

"Wait what? Why did you tell me to come with you if I am just going to stay here?" Eli questioned.

"It's… it's complicated dear, just please… stay here ok?" Eli nodded as he sat on one of the benches outside the meeting room.

As everyone entered the meeting room, Eli, being the rebellious boy he is, decided to climb the air vents and eavesdrop on his parent's meeting. He struggled for a while until he was completely in, he crawled his way to where the meeting room is, he was able to find it and hear the voices of his father and mother. From the looks of it, they sounded angry.

"out of your mind?! I will not use it to hurt people, surely there must be another application for it to be used for, right?" he heard, from the silence, he could tell the others did not agree with his father.

"Perhaps there could be another use for the Shard?" he heard his mother say.

"It must be done, unless, of course, you want your precious empire of a business crumble to dust?" the pale woman said. Was she threatening his father? Who does this woman think she is? He saw his father glare at her and took the hand of his mother before walking straight for the door.

'Shit. shit. shit. shit' Eli muttered and he hurriedly tried to reach the air vent he entered through, as he slipped out of the air vent, it was perfect timing because his parents just opened the door. He looked at his parents and saw the angry face of his father.

"C'mon son, we're going home" he said. They boarded their ship quickly and sailed off.

A few days later, a thick fog covered the sea as the ship tried to navigate its way through it. Eli was on the deck looking at the vast emptiness of the fog, he looked at his behind to see his father and mother conversing with the captain. It was then Eli heard the sound of a loud bang from the distance, Eli then saw an orange light from the distance, it soon became brighter, and brighter…

"ELI! LOOK OUT!" he heard his mother say before the orange light hit the ship, tilting it to the side.

Eli stumbled and fell on his back, his world was blacked out and an eerie ring sounded through his ears, a result from the explosion, the ship trembled multiple times as if being hit repeatedly, until one final hit caused the ship to tilt so much, most of the crew members fell overboard. Eli saw his mother and father running towards him until men came out of nowhere and started killing the remaining crew.

Eli tried to stand up but was pushed aside, he fell to on his arm and saw that one of the men had a gun aimed at his father, the man fired it, killing his father, his mother shouted in grief as she kneeled beside her fallen husband, she was stabbed in the back by another man with a sword. Eli's parents were dead. Eli tried to stand up but was pushed overboard, he tried to swim up but something hit his head rendering him unconscious, the last thing he heard was the falling of bodies to the water and the sick laughter of Pirates.

Unknown amount of time later

Eli woke up on a beach, his body full of pain, he groaned as he stood up and looked around him, his mother and father's body not far away, he ran to them and tried to pray to any gods if they were alive, but there was no miracle, they were both dead. Eli cried as he cradled both heads of his parents before burying them in the sand of the beach, he kneeled in front of the graves for an unknown amount of time until he felt cold steel touch his neck.

"Now who are you supposed to be?" The mysterious figure said, Eli turned around to see a boy, around his age carrying a scythe, behind him was a man clad in iron armor and red.

"Release him Kayn, he seems to be a survivor of this ship wreck" the man said, 'Kayn' let go of him and stood beside the man.

"What is your name, young one?" the man said. Eli didn't answer for a while until the man spoke again.

"Fine, I'll start first, my name is Zed, and you are?"

"Eli… Eli Bloodborne"

Present

After that first meeting, Eli joined the order of shadows and trained with them, harnessing the skills of the shadow technique.

"I have to Kayn, my father's empire is becoming ruins, I need to honor him by rebuilding it" Eli said.

Kayn wanted to protest some more but decided against it.

"Fine, but if you want, you are always welcomed back here in Ionia" Kayn said as he disappeared into the shadows, Eli looked back at the skull and held it out.

"I swear, on my father's skull, that I will seek vengeance, and bring retribution to the ones responsible for making me the man I am today" Eli swore, as he dropped the skull back and rode on the small boat waiting for him.
