Vice-Admiral Kathryn Janeway walked across the rocky terrian of the planet. Thier search for Chakotay and his crew had led them here. The ship's ceners led them to a tree were they had found a bag of combadges stashed their. Kathryn knew they had been here. It was all the motivation she needed to search this planet if she had too. She was going to find them. Shortly after they found the combadges the ship's cencors started malfunctining, something to do with the planets's atmosphere interferiing with them. They continued the search the old fashioned way, spliting into groups and covering as much ground as they could before it became too dark. Kathryn walked alone. Commander Tyess had offered to come with her but she wanted to walk alone. They were so close to finding Chakotay, the right quardrent, the right planet. He was here. The path in front of Kathryn narrowed as she walked. She tried to walk closer to the steep rock wall to her right. On the other side was a ledge she ddin't want to fall down. Kathryn stepped to the side to avoid a tree root, she stepped onto a hidden rock, her ankle turned and she fell, sliding over the ledge. She sat up at the bottom of the hill slighlty dazed, but she didn't have any apperent injuries, except for perhaps her ankle. She stood slowing wincing as she put weight on it. It wasn't too bad, she could still walk. That was the least of her problems as she could see the beginnings of an ion storm coming in. She tapped her combadge, there was no response. She was on her own. Kathryn continued to walk, her pace slower than she would have liked. She needed to find shelter. The sky was darkening, the storm was getting closer. The sky flashed and in the distance she thought she saw someone, but when she looked back they were gone. The sky lit up again and she the person. This time they stayed. The figure moved towards her. The sky flashed again Kathryn saw his face. If it was possible she was sure her heart had stopped beating for several seconds. He was walking towards her and she could see his hair, with a streak of gray, his tattered Starfleet uniform, and the tattoo on his face. It was Chakotay. In three more steps he reached her and immediately wrapped his arms around her pulling into a hug.

"Chakotay," she said into his shoulder her voice thick with emotion.

"Kathryn." Tears cascaded down her cheeks. He too was overcome by emotion. She never wanted to let go. Chakotay stepped back and she kept her arms around his neck. He moved his hands to her face. His eyes scanned her face like he was studying her. Her heart skipped a beat as his fingers brushed her hair out of her face and he looked into her eyes. For a long time they stayed just like that, standing in eachothers arms as the storm around them sent electricty through the sky. He leand forward then stopped as if asking for permission. Kathryn leaned towards him and his lips brushed against hers. Sending electricity through her veins. She could feel her face flush. He pulled away.

"Was that okay?" Asked Chakotay. In respone Kathryn pulled him closer to her and kissed him. The kiss communicating all that they never said all the things that felt to complicated to put into words. They pulled away, the ion storm crackled.

"The storm," said Kathryn a little breathless.

"We have to get to shelter," Chakotay said not taking his eyes of her, "On my way here I saw a cave, we can take shelter their," Chakotay said. They started walking, Chakotay noticed Kathryn's limp right away.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I'm fine, I just turned my ankle." He smiled slightly because this was just so Kathryn

"Still as stubborn as ever," he said.

"My stubborness is why we found," she paused, "I never gave up hope that you were still alive. Even with everyone else telling me I was letting my personal feelings get in the way, that you were probably already dead. I couldn't subject myself to a world without you in it." Kathryn hastily brushed at the tears on her cheeks.

"Come here,"Chakotay said pulling her into another embrace. She savoured the moment, putting her hand on his chest so she could feel his heart beating. They reached the cave Chakotay had metioned and went inside. Outside the sky had clouded over with thick dark clouds, and the sky crackled with electricty. Kathryn sat down leaning against the wall of the cave. She shivered and Chakotay sat down beside her putting his arm around her shoulders and pulling her close.

"We will have to wait here until the storm passes," Chakotay said. Kathryn found she didn't mind.

I might write more, I don't know.
