At the Owl House…
Luz was still looking at the piece of mask she took from Demona during their first fight.
At the Battlefield…
Belos was pinned by the claw of Demona as she was ready to strike him.
"You know, Belos. If you had just remembered, things wouldn't be this way. Oh, well. Live and learn or die and learn."
"Great tip, I'll try to remember that."
Before any of them could react, Luz used an ice spell to pierce Demona while Mr. Saltine gunk her claws and legs! Demona howled in pain as Belos took this opportunity to pin her.
"Luzura, though I am happy you came to my aid, you are grounded for putting yourself in danger like that."
"I know."
"Good, now stand back." Belos ordered then turned his attention to Demona, "You've lost, Demona."
"True, but only the battle… the war, however-."
She then disappeared!
"Is just getting started…"
This one piece showed that not only was Demona beatable, but she could beat her. She showed it to her father, and he turned it into a necklace for her.
"Keep this with you always, Luzura. Let this be a reminder that even though I do wish for you to fight her, she can be defeated. This shared will give hope that she is not invincible and there is a way to stop her." Belos proclaimed to his daughter, still grounded from her unauthorized confrontation with Demona.
Luz held tightly to her prize as a testament to never give up and to always keep moving forward. She was surprised that her mother didn't want her to leave the isles… in fact, there was something deeply troubling her.
"Luz, come on! We gotta go or we'll be late for school! It's CCMH day!" Hunter shouted from downstairs of the Owl House.
Oop, right CCMH Day…
"Oh, that the Coven Crisis Mission Hirings. They are basically hirings straight from the Coven Heads themselves, even the emperor but those are highly rare. Basically, odd jobs for pay, they are ranked from G to SS, G being the simplest and safest, SS being the most dangerous and daring, but also the highest paying. You can see who is hiring by the wax representing the coven sigil on the missions."
"A lot of students take CCMH missions for pocket money and experience in the field of Covens, which also helps them get their foot in the door in what they wish to do and become in the future."
Right, since the isles were rebuilt, the covens needed a lending hand. Though it was small, and the children don't have a lot of experience… every bit helps.
She got dressed and then whistled for her pet, Mr. Saltine, as Hunter, William, Spade, and their friends were waiting for them.
"Alright, guys. We had better head there quick before all the good jobs a taken." Luz suggested as it encouraged the children to rush to school, Luz's sunny deposition able to lessen the darkness in their fears of the blood that was to come.
