Chapter 48: Astrid's Palace, Part 3

We looked at the obstacle course. It's nothing but spinning platforms. Some spinning slow, some spinning at a normal speed and some spinning fast.

"So… What do we do?" Selene wondered,

"I guess we gotta roll the dice and see where they fall." I replied, "I'm going first."

I went to a big, but slow spinning platform with ease.

"Go, Joker!" Cattleya said, "I'm right behind you!"

Cattleya then landed on a different platform, which was a medium spinning platform with normal speed.

"Should we let them have their fun?" Boris wondered,

"Nah, I'm gonna follow them along!" Lars replied,

"Me too!" Willow replied,

Lars and Willow did the same things as well. Boris and Selene watched as they were impressed by our aerobic movements on the spinning platforms.

"Ok, for attempting to go over an obstacle course, those four are killing it." Boris said,

"Guess we gotta join in." Selene said,

"Yeah, but we're slower than them, so…"

"Slow and steady wins the race, right?"

"Oh yeah! Forgot about that saying! Come on, let's keep up with them!"

Boris and Selene went through the obstacle course together, but at a slower pace than us.

Us meanwhile were already done and entered the other side of the obstacle course.

"Well, that was easy!" Willow said,

"Hey, what's keeping Hunter and Eclipse?" Lars wondered,

We turned to see Boris and Selene getting over the obstacle course, but slower than us.

"Come on you guys!" Cattleya hollered, "You can do it!"

"Don't keep us waiting!" Willow hollered,

"Stop teasing us!" Selene hollered back, "Me and Boris need to concentrate!"

"Yeah! Shoosh!" Boris hollered too,

They were halfway there, until Boris tripped and fell from a small, but very fast spinning platform.

"WAHHHHHH!!!" Boris shouted in fear,

"HUNTER!" Selene shouted, "I'M COMING, MY FRIEND!"

Selene took off her mask as she called forth her Persona, Evaki.

"EVAKI!" They shouted as they hopped on their Persona and rode down to get Boris, "I gotcha!"

"Unholy shit!" Boris shouted, "Unholy shit, you saved me!"

They flew up to a big, but slow spinning platform close to us and Evaki recalled her Persona and put her mask back on.

"Woah." Cattleya said, "That was a close one!"

The two jumped to our platform.

"Right! We did that with ease, except for me and Hunter." Selene said,

"Don't worry about it, you got each other's backs anyways as Phantom Thieves!" Cattleya said,

Then, a treasure chest appeared in front of us. I opened it, revealing a small note.

"A note? That's our first treasure?" Lars wondered,

Cattleya read the small note.

"These spinning platforms resemble my brain spinning my life away…" She read, "My father died from a sickness while my mother was mysteriously killed."

"Awww… She lost her parents…" Selene said in a sad tone, "I feel bad."

"She didn't tell me about it…" Cattleya said, shocked, "She didn't tell me anything about it…"

I turned to a door as it was locked.

"I guess that's our checkpoint." I said as the lights were flickering red,

"Looks like we gotta turn back and talk to Astrid later…" Cattleya said, "We really gotta stick to the bottom of this…"
