Asmodeus walked in with the Calamity Quintet, the new name since the 'cult' just kept growing, as the Misfits huddled around and admired jewelry. "And here I thought none of you had class."
"Come on, we have class. Otherwise we would be wearing Midoriya's shirts." Lied teased.
"Okay, I get it, I don't have a good sense of humor!" Izuku yelled out, wearing a single feather earring. "Azz already burned all my 'joke' shirts, no need to rub it in."
The class gave a round of applause as the man bowed. "So where did all this jewelry even come from?" Jazz asked, pointing out to everyone, showing off a black earring he had on. "Furfur gave these to me and Scnieder a while ago, he was applauding us for playing him. It felt weird being given something without some sort of catch."
"Fucking weird. I won't buy it for even a second." Schneider nodded. "There's gotta be some scheme hidden in there, but for the life of me I can't figure it out."
"Mister Hat gave me mine when I was...indisposed." Kerroi shifted her new glasses, which meant she was Kurmou when her gift was received.
"And now we match!" Kaumi pointed to his own pair. "There's something brewing here, and I can feel it! Thank you, oh great master!" He was frozen two seconds later. "Worth every moment, my queen!"
"We got ours from Lady Vespa, she basically handed them to us, then started crying about how proud she was as we drowned again." Picero complained.
"Robin-Sensei threw ours at us." Lied pointed to him and Eiko. "The man is a psychopath, there's now doubt about it."
"I have but a minor concussion, so i'm pretty good at the moment." The girl waved off with a bloody hand.
"Lookie what Raimy-sensei gave me Izuku-kins, doesn't it look great?" Clara pulled out a very … very familiar ring. He stared at it silently, mouth gaping just a bit.
"Yeah it does, nice design too. The frill is a great touch. What do you think Azz … Azz?" Izuku asked the guy. "Hey Gaako can you … alright you're both really silent and it's freaking me out."
"Hey Clara, you said you got this from Raim-sensei right?" She asked. "Are you absolutely sure it was from her?"
"Yes, I received a necklace as well." Elizabetta pulled out said necklace around her shirt.
"Mother...I should've known." Asmodeus stared at his ring...the ring that matched Clara's. "This is what she meant! Our instructors are including all of us in that Trickster's gambit!"
"Wait, all of us!?" Izuku shouted with Sabro.
"The Trickster what now?" Asked the rest of them, not in the know.
"Ah, I wasn't supposed to say too much about it, but since you guys are involved, I might as well." Izuku huffed. "A few days ago, I along with the other two grandsons of the great lords were invited to the thirteen's dinner, to validate our Candidacy for the Demon King's throne. They're creating a competition where any one of the Crows can nominate those who they believe have potential."
"... So you're saying." Lied started slowly, staring at his black feathered earring that suspiciously matched Izuku's barring color. "That all of us are now competing for the throne?"
"The Thirteen Crows of Bablys….are all candidates to be Demon King?!" Jazz shouted.
"Well that would explain why Amduscias gave me mine through a flock of birds carrying a package." Soi stated blankly.
"Yeah, it's not just us." Izuku pointed to Eiko and Gaako. "Essentially, everyone who's become a member of the 'cult', so all of you guys plus Ameri, and the grandsons I met last time, not to mention whoever else they might have in mind."
"Woh, thou hast met the grandsons of the three great lords?" Sabro asked with wide eyes. "How are they in terms of character and power!?"
"They're just like me, except with a bit of Azz and Clara mixed with their personalities."
"But I won't want to die!" Lied shouted, horrified at the very thought. Yes, two Clara's sounded like a nightmare. He already needed to run from the bomber of Class 1-D.
"It's clear what we all need to do now." Asmodeus spoke for the class. "Join the competition, and make sure anyone insane, outside of Izuku that is, doesn't even come close to claiming the throne!"
"Screw that, I'm taking the throne myself." Sabro shouted. "I shall become the Demon King!"
"Hm, The Demon King of Icey beauty and Cuteness...that does have merit…" Kerori tapped her forehead.
"Demon King! Yay! I could make playtime all the time!" That would haunt him to the end of days, the apocalypse of all ages.
"Hey, I'm all for you guys wanting to be Demon King, but don't think I'm going to slow down for a second!" Izuku's smile went feral. "I'm going to climb higher and higher until the throne is mine! Let's go Plus Ultra all the way!"
"To the Calamity Cult!" The Class shouted. "To the Demon King!"
"WHO THE HELL HAS BEEN USING MY DESK TO COOK RAMEN!?"
"We need to prepare, we have a bunch of Kohai next year, they're gonna call us senpai!" Clara reminded the group.
"Oh yeah, if we'll be second years, that means the first years will look up to us." Izuku-kins spoke, looking to the sky. "People looking up to me for help. I've never felt so excited for a new school before now. Now people won't just write me off!"
"Don't get too excited. Your reputation, while respectable in some cases, is far from perfect." Azz-Azz chided Izuku-kins. "You need to work twice as hard to maintain a respectable image in light of all the orgy rumors spreading now.
"Oh right, those exist. Aren't there any piano rumors to run off of?" He asked.
"There are rumors that say you're good with your fingers." Eistring brought up. Of course he was, his fingers pressed buttons fast! "I mean, we can double check that just so we know it's valid.."
"Keep it in your pants, Eiko. I'm sure he's saving that stuff for Ameri." Dragon Lady rolled her eyes and Izuku-kins blushed. "Besides, people think you're a mad scientist and that I'm a brutal bloodthirsty tyrant. We have a lot of work to do on our own as it is."
"I don't care about rumors for myself, they have nothing to do with me and I have little care for them." She shrugged. "Besides, other than Eita I really don't care about the image of the Freshmen, or those in my current year. All that matters is that you guys are my Nakama."
"She has a point there." Azz-Azz nodded. "Then again the 'worst' thing I'm known for now is dating Gaako, and that's hardly a bad thing."
"What exactly happens during the second year?" Izuku-kins asked. "I figure we get into more dangerous situations?"
"Well I'm not quite sure about rank up events other than the Division Party, since that's the same every year for all years, but what I am aware of is that we move from magical fundamentals into magical practicals." Azz-Azz explained in his teacher's tone. "For example, combat magic other than just us using our bloodlines to blast the enemies to dust."
"Oh, so we'll be learning some actual crazy stuff next year, nice." Eistring smiled. "Oh, do you think we'll learn about the fabled love potion?"
"Eiko don't you dare." Dragon Lady spoke up. "It wouldn't be right and you know it."
"Oh not for the threesome, just put a little on Dosanko and some stranger, then she's off of Izu's back."
"... It's sad that I'm tempted to let you do that." Dragon Lady muttered.
"Agreed. I wish things would go back to where everyone was fawning over Azz." Izuku-kins sighed. "He's dealt with this kind of situation long before he's met me.
"I just let them talk and set anyone who dared to touch or insult me on fire back then … the good times."
"Now you're slightly less untouchable Azz-Azz!" Clara chimed in. "But we need to do better! All our Kohai will look up to us as examples! We'll be taking care of them!"
"But we're terrible examples. We're filled with spite and insanity on an unprecedented level." Dragon lady complained.
"I doubt we're that bad." Izuku-kins tried to argue. Oh, that gave her an idea!
"Let's play the Kohai game! Everyone is Kohai but one person is Senpai, whoever is best wins!" Everyone looked at her. "What?"
"Since when do you actually come up with a good idea?" Eistring jokes.
"Who said anything about an idea? This is just a game!" You didn't have to think too hard in games, except strategy! "Izuku-kins, why don't you try it out first? Be the cool Senpai!"
"Uh..oh...I don't know…" It wasn't that exciting Izuku-kins, don't put too much energy into it. "Ah...sup?"
"You're trying too hard to be cool." Eistring deadpanned. "You need to be respectable."
"Okay...ah..Hello Kohai, I'm Midoriya. I'll be sure to take care of you...does that work?"
"Close enough, I guess?" Dragon Lady said. "I'm sorry, you just tend to give off the presence of a Kohai on a constant basis."
"True, I can't really imagine you higher than me." Azz-Azz spoke with a nod. "Which is actually a problem if you're going to be Demon King."
"Why do you think Ameri's always picking you up? So lucky." Eistring pouted just a little.
"I feel kind of offended, Azz, why don't you give it a try?" He handed the belt over.
"Gladly." Azz-Azz stood up and coughed. "Greetings students of Babyls, I am Alice Asmodeus, you will follow the rules of this school or face consequences you can't possibly imagine. And if you are somehow dragged into a duel, stick with them, they'll be lifelong partners."
"This is school, not a prison." Izuku-kins scolded the speech. "Besides, I thought you'd grown off the whole 'dueling demons that slightly annoy you'."
"Of course I have, now I just duel ones that are an affront to my very existence … one in particular comes to mind." Amy. "But surely you agree it was a good speech, right Gaako?"
"For someone going for intimidation and nothing else, absolutely."
"Let me show you how a pro does it." Eistring grabbed the sash and placed it onto herself. "My name is Eiko Oni, you can call me Eiko if you want. I know Babyls seems scary, but if you follow my steps, you will be on your way to fifth base with your soulmate by the time you graduate."
"Eiko that had nothing to do with the school itse-did you say fifth base?" Izuku-kins had a look of confused and worried.
"Of course Izu! Fourth base is when we finally do it, fifth is when we add someone else to the mix. Don't worry, I'll wait for you to reach third with Ameri before I do anything like that."
"I … but …" Izuku-kins looked really confused.
"Just be lucky you didn't have to hear about fifteenth base … so much wax." Asmodeus shivered. She didn't even know all these deathball terms existed, it sounds super cool!
"My mom's going to have a heart attack hearing all these new terms once she starts working here." Izuku-kins grumbled.
"Yay, Mamadoriya!" Clara shouted. "Can I have a turn, or do you wanna go Dragon Lady?"
"Yeah I'll go, what the heck?" Dragon Lady sighed. "Hey kids. I'm Gaako. Please don't bother me too much, I'm too busy taking care of crazies in my own year to take care of you, and I have like eight siblings, so I'd like a little peace and quiet if you don't mind."
"You have no intention of caring for the new Kohai, do you?" Izuku-kins asked.
"You all know me so well." Dragon Lady smiled. "I'm loved and supported by Nakama, that's about all I need as far as I'm concerned."
"We love you too, Dragon Lady!" She hugged the girl as she took the sash. "Hello my little Kohai. Your Senpai Clara is gonna teach you all you need to know, you ready?"
Everyone was looking at her funny, and she wanted to laugh, but she needed to take it seriously, to win the game!
"You mustn't run or fly in the halls, you could hit someone, so do it outside when you're getting across the school! Always have tissues to bless your friends and handkerchiefs to clean yourself of messes, and little candies cause the sugary goodness helps you focus on tests."
"I never noticed how much big sis energy Clara gave off until now." Eistring muttered. Of course she did, she took care of five siblings that she always made sure to give tons of love and care for!
"Make sure to wash your hands and horns when you come out from outside, if you get someone sick you won't be able to play with them. Make sure to always greet your senpais. Teachers get really mad when you pull pranks, so be super sneaky about it, especially Aggy-sensei, he's super harsh, so sneak it onto other people you don't like, such as Statue Purson."
"The end times must be coming. Valac should never sound this logical or reasonable at any time." Thank you Azz-Azz, you were slightly more fun to be around than usual.
"And if you have any other questions, or need lots of help just let your Senpai know." She pointed at herself and finished with a wide and sharp grin.
Izuku-kins was clapping his hands, and soon the rest of the CQ was doing it as well. "I think you've grown the most compared to the rest of the class, Clara. You're probably the most mature one in the group now."
"Yep, I'm the most mature one here, the fun big sis!" Clara laughed.
"Don't get ahead of yourself." Azz-Azz complained, back in his mood. "But yes, it was a good performance, is there anything else to discuss?"
"Oh, we need to look super tough for the freshmen, so let's dress like Dragon Lady's family!"
"Okay, I think we're done here." Dragon Lady got up and dragged Azz-Azz away. "Come on Azz, I'd like to spend the little free time I have left in a more private setting."
Ameri listened to the tragedy. "Kakeru was a triple agent the entire time! Constantly fooling those around them, the people that loved them, messing with all their hearts with the power of love!"
"And in the darkest, even when the mask was dropped, he still loved them." Izzy stated, closing the book. "A tragedy in the making."
"Do you think we have time for the next chapter before your next class starts?"
"I think so, but I'd like for us to talk normally for a second. About something a little more personal." Izzy sat himself down, scooting himself closer to her desk. "So..your dad really does know everything now, right?"
Right, that type of talk. "Yes, apparently he always knew, it's why he went in and constantly conversed with your mother."
"Thank Devi." She raised an eyebrow. She just told him he was trying to incarcerate them. "I mean, not that he's investigating, well, kinda, it's this thing where people think my mom is getting lots of attention from everyone and-" OH GROSS! She needed that image out of her head.
"So even your mother isn't immune to rumors herself." Ameri shivered. "But yes, at the moment he won't do anything about it, mainly because of the Trickster's Gambit."
"I'd figured you'd be his choice. I'd choose you for the position in a heartbeat." Don't swoop him up and kiss every inch of his face yet, wait till the conversation is done. "So did you accept?"
"I did..because there was no telling what he'd do if I declined. He's absolutely convinced you being the Demon King would be the end of the Netherworld as we know it." Ameri saw the disappointment on Izzy's face. "The worst part about it is, he's not going to continue the investigation because he believes if I became Demon King, he'd get his 'princess' back, and you'd get to live here...as my servant."
"Well I mean it's better than losing to Azz during that first duel and becoming his servant." Very true. "It's not the worst idea I've ever heard. Between you and the other candidates, I'd rather it be you then someone from the misfit class, or the other lord's grandchildren."
"Yes, I can see why, those two are maniacs." The boy blinked.
"You know about them?"
"The student council meets up between schools for discussion on any crossing events and warnings about students. I've heard an extensive amount from those kids."
"Yeah, they're me without the self-awareness of the insanity, and they sound like they're going to run a dictatorship if either of them were on the throne. Becoming Demon King just became all the more vital." Absolutely. "May the best Demon win then." He grinned at her, holding out his hand.
"Yes, may the best demon win." She held off long enough. She grabbed his arm and pulled him into her seat, setting him on her lap. "You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do something like this."
"Yeah, I can imagine … I know I'm dense but there's something I wanna offer." He started. "Since you're not living with your father any more do you want to … be at my place?" She stared at him in silence, wide eyes.
"Maybe on the weekends, my dorm isn't so bad … very isolated from the school grounds … a nice silky bed … plenty of space." By the look on his face, it didn't look like he understood what she was indicating.
"I know you have the Council, but you're constantly working with nothing less than one hundred and fifty percent power all the time. You told me a bleeding heart bleeds out, and..that applies to you too." Izzy grabbed her hands. "I'd..I'd like for you to wake up on a nice warm bed everyday..being greeted by someone who...who..loves you."
"Izzy." She held his hands as well. "I want that too, to just be with someone I care about, to let go … but you do realize..." She leaned closer to his face. "That in my dorms, I have a single large bed in a soundproof room?"
"Why does soundproof mat-" He cut himself off, becoming very flustered. "Ah-I-um." She chuckled, leaning in and kissing him gently, moving her arms behind the boy and suckling a bit harder. "Am-Ameri…"
"I vaguely remember what we did during the thirteenth month gathering.." She said in-between kisses. "I'd like both of us to be fully aware when we do this from now on, because there's nothing about this I want to forget."
"Madame president!" Grave barged in. "Ronove is leveling-" He froze, slowly closing the door behind him. "It was bound to happen to me at one point."
"Not that I'm trying to ruin the moment..but how long has the Student Council known about us?" Izzy was staring right at the door, expecting someone else to barge in at any moment.
"Long enough that I feel stupid for not getting a padlock." She muttered, regretting this already. "Would you like to try some tail to tail action now?"
"Yes please." Still so bold and so cute! Regrets be damned!
"Alright, this seems like a good room to break-" Jazz watched as Lied froze, Devi Devi Revolution in hand and staring at his Split Wolf. "Or maybe not, maybe the next room can-"
"Come in and lock the door."
"Locked and ready for an explanation of what you're doing in a room with a cute dog on a ball."
"Actually lock the door or I'll tell Elizabetta you're actually Lilly."
"HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT!?"
"It's the one thing I remembered from the drunk party." That and someone claiming they weren't a demon, but that was just stupid hallucinations probably.
"Alright it's locked, I won't talk, I'll move to the corner of the room." Lied, shaking, proceeded to do just that.
"You can talk, just...don't laugh please." He showed off the 'dog' that he was trying to train. "It's a Kyoot. This is my Familiar."
"... Okay." The boy nodded, Jazz raising an eyebrow. "I've seen lots of crazy stuff since Walter Park, this isn't that surprising."
"Right, you became a full member of the Cult before the rest of us." Jazz realized. "How did you end up in a dress anyway?"
"Blackmail and Fanservice." That seemed to be a very serious tale. "It wasn't worth it at all, other than the brief moment my tail touched Gyari's …"
"You Lucky Bastard." Jazz congratulated me. "At least you got something you wanted." He pointed back to his Familiar, balancing on the ball with a party hat. "This guy's been with me all year and he still hasn't grown, even with my new rank. Just look at him!"
"He looks so soft and cuddly." Lied cooed the creature. "I really don't think it's that bad Jazz. It's not like the Misfits have any shame left to begin with. We tossed that out the window a LONG time ago."
"This is more than that, it's my image! People see me in the halls now and think I'm cool and mature, like a good big brother should be!" He gestured back to the Kyoot. "Familiars are supposed to reflect their master. What will people think of me if they see me summon this ball of fluff!?"
"Sure it's nothing like Azz's gorgon, or Sabro's Kelpie, or Kerroi's two familiars, or my clever monkey...I just lost focus on my own point."
"Yes, you did, you even added your own familiar into the mix." The little guy even had a heavy metal band of familiars! And it was decent!
"My point is, I think, is that it just seems like you, a nice and reliable big bro." Jazz stared blankly, a small smile on his face. People thought he was a reliable big brother … This was the happiest day of his life. "Besides, he probably has a trick or two up his sleeve."
"Let me check that sleeve for a card then." Jazz laughed, making a gesture of pulling on the 'sleeve' of fur … as piles and piles of money, candy, and other various objects from various classes, including his own, made a small mountain bigger than both the boys combined. The last object to pop out was, believe it or not, a playing card.
"Ha, guess you've taught him quite a few tricks too." Lied reached for something in his pockets. "Damn it, he got my wallet too!" That's his boy! The Split Wolf may have been adorable, but he was obviously an Andro at heart!
"Do you have your shoes, Eita!?" Asked Aunt Peach from the kitchen.
"Yes, I got it." He quietly responded.
"Did you make sure your uniform isn't wrinkled?"
"I ironed it this morning." He explained in his whisper-like tone.
"Did you put on clean underwear?"
"Auntie!" That made him raise his voice.
"Sorry, didn't get too many opportunities to embarrass your sister, she's unashamed of anything." That was true, it was half admirable, and half freaky. "Do you have your lunch packed?"
"Yes I do, I got everything." Eita was getting tired of this. He was excited for the school year, but from everything that Eiko had told him, he didn't have high expectations for himself. "It's just going to be the speech for me today and nothing else."
"Your sister met her soulmate on the first day, who knows what'll happen with you if you just try a little."
"Eiko met him because he jumped in front of a flaming sword after giving a forbidden speech and dueling one of the strongest freshmen of Babyls."
"Who knows, maybe the next speech will be just as crazy." He highly doubted it.
"Eiko took all the crazy with her to her second year. I just want a good day without anything going wrong." He loved his sister, he really did, but she made such a big name for herself during her first year. "Not like I'm going to stand out. I'll settle for being like everyone else for now."
"Never settle, aim for the stars!" Right right, do your best and all that.
"I love you Aunt Peach!" He shouted, running out for his first year to start. A quiet adventure, he hopped.
