"I heard there's a gym here" Serena said as we walked around Anistar City "I'm going to take it on so I can continue making my Pokémon stronger!" She pumped her fist. I chuckled and nodded

"Really? Maybe I should take on this gym too" she spun around to face me

"That would be awesome! That would make us rivals!" She laughed. I sighed with a smile, never stopping to admire her happy face

"Maybe" I shrugged. She chuckled and walked up ahead to take me to see a large crystal attraction that could be a pretty penny to sell. This may be enough to help Team Flare get all the money they need. I shook my head at this, knowing it was unrealistic to move this large thing and sell it without getting caught

"Isn't it pretty?" Serena smiled. I stayed silent, realizing I was thinking about work

"Yeah" I smiled, not really paying attention to the crystal and kept my eyes on her already enjoying herself

"Hm?" She looked at me confused "Do I have something on my face?" I pinched her cheek a bit

"Just beauty" she flinched and then giggled

"Calem! I didn't know you were so smooth!" I rolled my eyes as she laughed "You really know how to make a girl blush!"

"Cut it out" I cleared my throat "why are you so loud?" She patted my back over and over, laughing at whatever I said

"Sorry! Sorry!" She laughed, holding her stomach in pain before stopping "You can't just say things like that! I'm so embarrassed!" I sweatdropped, not understanding why she was laughing so hard "Let's go get some food!" She tugged on my arm and took us to a nearby restaurant.

We sat down and looked through the menu's the waiter gave us. I peaked at Serena still smiling, strangely a bit too much

"Is something wrong?" I asked, making her jump

"Something wrong? Why would something be wrong?!" She laughed. I set my menu down to observe her "What?! Nothing's wrong!" The longer I stared at her, the more nervous she got "This city is known as the city filled with psychics" she calmed down a bit, but looked awkward "I want to be careful when I'm around some"

"Why?" She sighed

"Because from one psychic user to another, we feel each others vibrations a lot easier than we feel someone who's normal" I leaned on the table

"You're a psychic user? I knew you had Kirlia and that takes a special kind of person to have one, but you're a psychic user?" She slowly nodded and looked at the salt shaker before it started to move on its own "Whoa!" It was placed back in its holder before she smiled back at me

"It's nothing too crazy. I met other psychic users who can lift much more than I can. This is all I can do. One at a time, light enough to carry on your own"

"That's amazing!" I gasped "I didn't take you for a psychic user! Why haven't you told me before?"

"I'm not that powerful, so there's not really any need and I usually surprise someone when I suddenly do it" she chuckled "Because I forget sometimes"

"And what's making you act weird? Vibrations?" She started laughing again, but more nervously

"Let's just say other psychic users will know exactly what you're thinking about or how you're feeling based on the vibrations" I watched her look uncomfortable

"What's the problem? What don't you want them knowing?" She shook her head "I won't force it out of you, but you know you can tell me anything" that didn't make her look better. She smiled for me anyway

"Thank you..." she perked herself back up and talked about her plans here in the city while we ate. She's often try to ask me questions so I could talk more, but I much rather watch her blabbering about anything.

"You ready to go to that Pokémon gym?" I asked after I paid the bill

"Hey! I was going to pay!"

"You snooze, you lose" I stuck my tongue out at her "Come on" I offered my hand to her. She stared at it surprised before taking it and turned red all of a sudden "what's wrong?"

"Are we going to hold hands as we walk?" I chuckled, getting where she's getting at

"I don't see why not. You're my girl, aren't you?" I didn't think her face could get redder before she started to laugh and hit me.

"Calem! You're such a flirt!" I took the beatings she gave me, not really feeling much of a punch, and allowed her to calm down before we started walking together. As we held hands, her mood seemed much better and no longer did she seem like she was hiding something from me.

I held back the images Kirlia gave me and came back to earth when Serena shook my hand to get my attention "We're here" she smiled "I'm so excited! I'm going in!" she let go of my hand to storm into the building. I smiled at her excitement and was about to follow her before noticing two of my coworkers walking around

"what are they doing here? There's no place of interest around these parts" I made my way to see what these guys were up to.

Turning out that they were just fooling around on their break. I don't know what makes them think it's a good idea to walk about like that, but it's not my business right now.

I hurried back to the gym. I'm sure Serena is wondering where I ended up "Careful" I almost ran into someone when I turned around. I was an older lady wearing a white cape like a magician.

"Oh! I'm sorry! I almost ran into you!" The lady chuckled and nodded

"It's okay, I saw it coming and said something beforehand" I studied her strange appearance, not in a bad way. If this is the city full of psychics, could she be one? "Yes" I blinked confused at her "I am a psychic user" my jaw dropped. She read my mind?! "I didn't read your mind. I just happen to feel your Vibration. You were curious about something, so I assume its what you think by looking at my clothes?"

"Sorry..." I didn't realize I was staring

"No worries, young man. Are you here to challenge my gym? My name is Olympia" I quickly waved my hands to discredit that assumption

"No, my friend is! my name is-"

"Calem" my eyes widened "I have seen your arrival along with a young lady" she looked over at where her gym was

"You saw us coming?" she nodded and walked away

"Come. let's go to my gym. There is much to discuss"

"Discuss?" I gulped, feeling strange that she expected us and I felt worried to know what vibrations she's going to pick up from Serena she wanted to hide so badly.

As soon as we arrived to the gym, Serena was in the middle of the entrance with the front desk staff staring right into her soul while Serena looked blue but tried looking as normal as possible.

"Serena? are you okay?" I asked, walking up to her. She looked at me and quickly ran to hug me

"Calem!" she sobbed and hid under my arms while the staff continued staring at her with pity and sympathy. Olympia softly patted Serena's back, alarming her and made her scream "Olympia!?" she let go of me to fall on the floor and bowed her head to the floor "PLEASE DONT LOOK AT MY VIBRATIONS!" she begged, screaming "PLEASE DONT TELL MY FRIENDS EITHER!" I jumped, not expecting that out of her.

"Dear, I wouldnt just go around telling other people about your vibrations" Olympia crossed her arms "Please stand up. You're the one that wants to challenge me, right?" she walked away to another entrance that lead to a strange space like room that defy the laws of physics or reality.

Serena sat there awkwardly before standing, but didn't look at me. She wants to hide something so much she ended up doing something so crazy and scream like that

"Serena" I called her, not wanting to make her uncomfortable "Go on" she looked at me surprised "You better win" I smiled. She took a moment before quickly nodding and chased after Olympia. It was exhausing not to question what just happened, so I just sighed and look for any other entrance to see if I can sit somewhere to watch the battle

"that poor girl..." I heard the staff whisper to the other. I ignored this, not bothering to question what they meant, and found the entrance to some bleachers that overlooked a stadium covered in stars, darkness, and neon walk ways Serena had to walk in order to reach Olympia sitting on the very top of the strange galaxy, on a throne chair, overlooking Serena having to take on other trainers that stop trainers from proceeding

"Sir" I looked over at an employee with pokeballs floating behind him "Hello, my name is Timothy. A word with Olympia. Please follow me" instead of questioning him on why he didn't ask if I wanted to talk to Olympia, I followed him anyway up the stairs hidden behind the galaxy cloud she must've used to get up here.

The view from up here almost looked rounded, as if I was standing on the edge of the galaxy and witnessing the roundness of the world "You came" Olympia said "Serena will take moments to come, so it'll give us time to speak. She can't see us from here, and we have plenty of time" I slowly nodded "I'm sure you have some questions"

"Yes..." she smiled at me

"I know this is strange to you for this to suddenly happen, but life always have some unique turns we have to face. Serena already foresaw what she was getting herself into just by being in this city, but as soon as she felt my aura, she immediately panicked"

"What was that about...?" she sighed and leaned her elbow on the arm rest

"I cannot tell you the details of her vibrations, since that is a private matter that includes our personal meaning. I wanted to talk to you about the future I saw" I nodded, wondering which future she was going to talk about "By the time you and Serena leave this building, you will receive the news on your boss's plan coming close to success" I gulped, wishing I forgot about that "this will meet the demise of our world as we know it, but I have fate in your two. I'm sure even you know that you and your friends will succeed" I looked down "Your vibrations are low. What's the matter?"

"Isn't it rude to look at my vibrations since you said it was a personal meaning?" she chuckled.

"Forgive me, but it's just something I pick up. I don't meant to be rude" I sighed, understanding "Is there something you want to speak to me about that I can answer?"

"At first my only wish was for this world to be erased... I kept so much anger in that it fucked up my reasonings. Serena helped me understand. Serena is strange, but if there's anything I can do for her... anything! I want to know. I don't know what she's hiding from me and her friends, but..." she nodded.

"I can't describe her vibrations to you, but I can only give you advice. People who are like Serena are different than others. She's also a psychic user. Though not as strong, these abilities make her mindset weak. It takes practice to hold such abilities. Since she has not tried to master them, there are consequences for this. There may not be much for you to do, but I know she's desperate" she frowned "She needs help, but she's not the kind of person to ask for help. That's the problem. I would be more than happy to help train her, but it won't be easy to convince her. If you can help her this way, you shouldn't worry about the future Kirlia showed you" I was too frozen to say anything "She's almost here. Please return to your seat"

With a quiet thank you, Timothy escorted me back to my seat and I witnessed Serena battling for the first time in my eyes. She seemed really happy in the inside, but as a psychic user, things must be harder on her than anyone else. I wish I knew exactly what it means to be a psychic user when emotions or mentality are involved, but all I can do is wait for Serena to be comfortable enough to talk to me.

After the battle, the two of them had a private conversation in another room while I waited for her up front. I peaked at the front desk ladies talking to each other about the battle between both psychic users, so I walked up to them to get more info.

"Excuse me? Are you both psychic users?" They faced me "I just wanted to know what it takes to become a psychic?" Instead of asking them about the ability and seeming off as rude to invade their privacy, I brought the subject to involve me "I thought it was pretty cool watching all those trainers levitating their Pokéballs and stuff"

"It's not that easy becoming a psychic" the lady on the left said

"You'd often are just born with it, but there are cases where you can learn" the lady on the right said

"It's not as light as you make it out to be. It's all about mind over matter"

"And it involves every inch of your body, mind and soul. If you never been one with your body and challenged your state of mind and soul, you will have a difficult time to start"

"I see..." I nodded "are people who are born with these abilities and people who learn any different?"

"Being psychic may be genetic or gifted. It's very difficult for a born psychic growing up since they're brain is still developing. It takes another psychic user to help them control their power, otherwise if they were gifted with parents who aren't psychic, they could end up really hurting someone or even themselves"

"And often these babies or children end up abandoned or dropped off in our city full of psychic so we can raise them" the left lady smiled "I have a child I adopted who was abandoned here"

"At least some parents leave their kids at this safe city instead of anywhere else. It does happen, sadly" the right lady sighed. I wonder if Serena's parents were psychic users or not "If you really want to learn, there are many books at the library that can help with that. They're often for psychic children though"

"Any book will do. Thanks" I smiled and continued to wait for Serena for another ten minutes before she showed up with a drained look on her face "You tired?" I chuckled

"Very"

"Oh!" The left lady stood up "I forgot something else!" I went over to listen, hoping Serena wouldn't hear "Psychic users with non psychic user parents who keep them are pretty rare" she whispered, like she read my mind. Does she know if Serena had non psychic partners?

She ended up nodding, shocking me "This causes the young psychic user to often grow up without proper knowledge and control. That's all I can tell you" I gulped, taking that much, and thanked her before going up to Serena watching us confused

"Sorry, I was just asking about the library"

"Library? You want to go there?"

"Can we?" She smiled

"Sure! It'll help me relax my nerves" I nodded, forgetting I forgot to ask where the library was to make my lie believable.

We left the building to search for the library. My pocket moved suddenly. I dug inside to see a note inside with directions to the library. Did one of those girls put this in here?

"Where is the library?" Serena asked

"They gave me this address, but that's pretty much it" I showed her the note "Shouldn't be too hard to find" she nodded and looked around until we found it at the end of the city.
