As soon as we entered the building, a few eyes turned to stare at us. I flinched and Serena looked nervous "So much for trying to relax..." she nervously laughed and pulled on my hand to find a quiet spot to stay in.

"This should keep them from looking at us... what's their deal?" She huffed "A city full of psychic users is a bit unsettling"

"Are you not used to being around psychics?"

"Not really" This sparked questions and confirmed answers

"Were your parents not psychics?" She shook her head and looked for some books around us "How did you learn then?"

"I didn't. That's why my powers aren't that powerful" I wonder if she had difficulties growing up. Does it depend on the type of psychic user she is? I wonder how many types there are and what are the levels of mind and soul energy stuff they have to go through

Someone walked pass me to lay a few books on the table by me "Here" he said "This should help you understand the nature of our powers" I blinked confused

"Let me guess, you read my mind or something?" He shrugged "Do you people not know about invasion of privacy?

"You're the one that's curious" that's true... "My twin sister told my you were coming"

"Through telepathy?"

"She texted me" right... now that I looked at him more, he looked like the right lady's clone in male form

"So you read minds?" He nodded

"Technically. It's connected through mind reading"

"Can you use it with other people?"

"That's what I've been doing" I was watching his eyes rather than noticing he wasn't moving his lips "My sister said you wanted to learn to use psychic abilities, but there are many different kinds that are common to learn and impossible. Impossible being that you have to be born to have this ability" I nodded "the types of psychics are in this book" he pulled out a book from the stack to show me "The common ones to learn even for you are in this book" he showed another "It's mainly used for psychic children to understand the different kinds they can control so they can practice their actual gift"

"So there's no chance I can actually do it. I just thought it would be pretty cool. I also just wanted to see how I can help my friend"

"Your friend has her own issues" he knows she has issues? "You can help her all you want, but it won't be an easy task. I believe you'll be able to pull off learning through this book so you can practice your own gift"

"I'm not a psychic user" he chuckled

"Sometimes psychic users aren't aware they have abilities. Who knows, maybe you're one of the rare ones who doesn't know? Don't take it too seriously" I slowly nodded as he left at the same time Serena came back with some books

"You've been quiet over here" she looked at the books on the table "What kind of books you find?" She sat down across from me

"Some books that were just laying around" I lied

"They look interesting" she showed me what she found "I found this book on meditation, and this book on crystals, and this book on levitation for dummies"

"Is that the only ability you have?"

"I'm pretty sure. I never heard of users having more than one gift" I showed her the common abilities book

"I wanted to learn some common abilities maybe I can do"

"Common abilities?" I opened the book to get an introduction

"They're abilities that help training your psychic abilities so you can be ready to control your actual abilities. I might not have a main ability, but maybe some card tricks?" she giggled

"What kind of common abilities are there?" I turned a few pages

"Card tricks, spoon bending, palm reading, levitation-" we froze at the last part "Levitation? That's a common ability?" I looked at Serena looking a bit scared, but hid it quickly and just smiled "If it's a common ability, what's your actual ability?"

"What else does the book say?" She dodged my question? I shrugged it off mentally and named a few other abilities that I'm pretty sure are considered magic tricks.

I peaked at the book that has a list of abilities right next to me, but I didn't want to trigger Serena more than she already was

"Do you think I can try levitation?" I asked

"This book are for psychic children. Are you saying you have abilities?" She giggled

"I learned that some people grow up without knowing they do. I don't know, maybe I'm one of them" I joked "I just thought it was cool" she slowly blinked, smiling and leaning on her elbow

"It's more problematic than it seems, so I don't wish this on you. Say you were someone who did have the abilities without knowing. What happens then when you awaken them? You have no idea what you have under your belt. Some children grow up troubled, so I rather you not have to deal with that now"

"Are you saying you're troubled?" I frowned "Serena, if there's anything you want to talk about, I'm here. You don't have to be scared" she shook her head

"No, I don't want to say anything now. I'm not proud of my ability, so I rather not talk about it... at least right now. I can tell you one thing" she sighed "It fucks with the mind" I tilted my head confusion "It's dangerous if given to the wrong person. I'd say I'm the best person to have it, but growing up with it wasn't so easy" she sighed

"Okay. You don't have to tell me. I understand" she nodded and started reading her books. I reached for the book I wanted to open to discover the different kinds of abilities that were possible for a psychic user

"That's cool..." I said in my head, turning to the page to see another page missing "Huh?" There were a few pages missing after that and continued on. I checked the tables of contents, but the words were scratched out

I got up to look for that boy who gave me these books and found him sitting at the front desk. So he works here then!

"Excuse me" I opened the page with the missing pages "There's some missing"

"Oh, yes. Many pages in this library are ripped out from that taboo ability"

"Taboo? What was it?" He shook his head

"It's been like that since I got here. I can't really tell you. Someone else might know"

"Do you know who?" He shook his head "Thanks anyway" I went back to Serena keeping her eyes on her book, invested in whatever she was reading.

So every book with the taboo ability is gone, huh? Would Olympia know? She's powerful enough to have more information than anyone else, I'm sure... but what if she doesn't tell me?

I don't know if it's that important to look into, since Serena isn't willing to tell me her main ability. There could be a chance she has this taboo ability, but I don't know what the chances are.

Putting that to the side, I read more on the common abilities and played around with different stuff the librarian guy came around to drop off... I have no idea why he's doing this. Is he implying something?

"If I can do this, that means I have a main ability. You think?"

"I'm sure anyone can do magic tricks" Serena said "But the difference between tricks and abilities are that tricks are tricks and are fake, whereas abilities come from the mind and soul. Try it on this" she picked up a piece of paper and set it down in front of me before coming around to stand behind me and lean close to speak close to my ear, sending me chills

"S-Serena..." I gulped as she reached her hand out to point at the paper, levitating it a bit off the table

"Calm your mind and think light, like weightless. Think that you want to lift that paper off the table and follow a path you imagine" it's a bit hard doing that when she's so close to me like this

"You're making me nervous" I admit. She giggled and kissed my cheek and wrapped her arm around my shoulders, making me more nervous, especially since we're at a library "Serena..." I looked down, hiding my blush

"It's a shame we only have this week together, then you have to go to work" I nodded "You'll be a spy this time... you're on our side. You have no idea how happy I am to have you by my side"

"Me too" I held her hand to kiss "I'm glad you convinced me to open my mind. It's like my mind is more at ease with you" she cuddled her face into my cheek

"Me too!" She peaked to the side to the table and widened her eyes a bit. I turned to see what she was looking at and saw the piece of paper missing "Where it go?" She looked up, seeing the paper above us while slowly floating down "What just happened?" She smiled at me

"I guess my powers are stronger with you around" she blushed, catching the piece of paper and set it back on the table "Okay, go" I nodded and did my best to have something happen, but nothing did

"Oh well" I sighed "It was fun at least trying"

"Maybe another time" we spent the rest of our time at the library reading random books until it was closing time. When we walked out, people were running over to the area the large crystal of Anistar city was.

"What do you think is over there?" She asked, taking my hand to go see what it is. The crystal was shining with the sunset! "The sundial is shining!" She hurried over to the light beam people were touching and reached out to touch it too, causing her mega ring to shine brightly and almost blind a few people

"What was that?" I hurried over to her

"Not sure..." she stared at the stone for a moment before turning back to me "It's a shame you have to go to work soon... it was really fun being with you" she frowned

"Don't worry, we're going to be together very soon" a sound was coming from her bag, along with others around us. She took out her holocaster that was created by my boss and saw him when answered

"Boss?" I questioned

"Pokémon trainers" his voice sent chills down my body "I come to you by the holo caster to make an important announcement. Listen well" I was compelled to listen to his voice and checked my phone for any updates, getting messages I didn't see before while on silent in the library "Team Flare will revive the Ulimate weapon, eliminating everyone who isn't in our group" I slowly nodded "and return the world to a beautiful, natural state"

Serena looked around worried at the people listening to the broadcast and looked back at me, but I was focused on my phone and listening to my boss's words of wisdom

"Don't panic" he said "It is you who are consuming our future. If nothing changes, the world will become ugly and conflict will raise land from end to end. Take this as a way of punishment you deserve for the wrong doings you've done. If you are not members of Team Flare, I'm sorry. This is adieu to you all. Do not panic and accept your fate"

"How awful!" Serena gasped. I answered my phone when my team admin called me, wanting me to head to the headquarters as soon as possible. I agreed and headed off "Calem! Where are you going?!"

"Stay here, civilian. Don't get involved" my eye twitched at how I was talking to her, but my mind was somewhere else

I left the city with my red glasses to meet with some Team Flare coworkers who waited for me to ride with them to Lumiose.

"Calem! Calem!" Serena shouted at me, chasing after me, out of breath "What are you doing?! You can't just leave me like this!" I told my coworkers to give me a second before walking over to her hurrying over to me "Why did you leave?!"

"You are not influenced by my boss's words. You're the one that's been causing trouble. If you keep interfering, you'll regret it" I glared

"What's wrong with you?! It's like you're being mind controlled!" The suggestion triggered my memory of the book that had missing pages, but I shook my head and pushed her away, making her scream and fall back

"Stand down!" I shouted at her face "If I see you anywhere near our place of action, I'll fuck you up" her eyes turned seductive

"Promise?" I flinched at her sass, feeling a headache of crazy emotions moving through me, and hurried to ride with my coworkers, not having time to fool around with someone who's going to die anyway.

We headed over to Lysandre cafe to get some final preparations started. This world will eventually turned to the point of no return... I must work hard to make sure nothing gets in the way of that plan.

My mind was focused on the tasks given to me and I was on it for a couple of days already, eager to get this show on a roll so Lysandre can make our dreams come true next week.

I was asked to organize the list of grunts in our team by my commander to make sure where they stand so we can be safe once the Ulimate weapon is used as well as organize the information we collected from trainers who had holocasters. It's been days and I'm hardly done

Every detail of each grunt was in my hands, making me feel like this is useful for something other than their protection. I wonder what.

"There you are!" I almost dropped the clipboard and turned around to see that girl that's been messing with our plans

"You! How did you get in here!?" I glared

"Calem! What's wrong with you!? You said you were going to help me! I've tried calling you for days!"

"Why would I do that? Who are you?" And was she the one blowing up my phone all this time? When did she get my number? "On your lonesome this time?" I smirked, setting down the clipboard on the desk near me

"Of course not! And what do you mean who am I!? I'm Serena! Your girlfriend" I blinked confused, taken a back a bit

"What? Is that some kind of joke?" I noticed the mega ring on her wrist "Oh? You have one of those? It awakens a Pokémon's power, just like how the Ulimate weapon can max out a Pokémon's power" I chuckled "Looks like you and me are practically after the same thing, yeah?" I took out my Pokéball to battle, to stop her here and now, but as my memory came back, I remembered how strong she was in battle before.

The memory of her was all over the place. I found myself dizzy from trying to figure out why that is. Before I knew it, she was right in front of me, causing me to lean back and run into the desk

"W-What are you doing?" She softly took off my glasses to look into my eyes. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of blue... enchanting to see.

"This is not what you want, Calem" her voice made my body feel light on my feet "Violence is not the answer. Come back to me" I slowly blinked, slowly noticing she was doing something with those eyes

"S-Serena..." her voice finally reached me, but not entirely "What are you doing..? Are you... using your ability?" She softly sighed and held my cheek

"My ability is mind healing, someone who can heal the mind of corrupted influences..."

"Why would you hide some like that?" She frowned

"Because with a gift like that comes consequences. If I can heal your mind, I can destroy it as well" she bit her lip "I didn't want to be that kind of person growing up. It was awful" I took her cheeks to look down at her beautiful, yet sad face "Calem... I believed you were mind controlled. Lysandre must have that taboo ability" I leaned in to kiss her, hearing her mumble

"Serena..." I held her close "I'm sorry I left you. I can't believe I did that" she hugged me back tightly, automatically pushing my instincts to grab her legs and place them on the desk, wanting to feel her love I missed so much
