Chapter Five: The Devil in the Details

Christmas -

December 24th, 2017

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Christmas Eve, Morning

On the morning of December 24th, Dean woke up to an empty bed, but music was playing through the Bunker. When he entered the library, his family were sitting around the table, chatting whilst Castiel was checking over the binds they had put on Lucifer, who cheerfully greeted him when he entered the room. Dean shot the Devil a look, then turned back to Sam, who was telling him something about a case they had found. Cas had explained that Lucifer wasn't lying to them when he said that he's 'here to help' and that whilst the Archangel had signed a document that would mean if he did, he would be put straight back in the cage, the Winchester's were still reluctant to just let him wander around haphazardly. Cas wasn't feeling great, Lucifer could sense that coming from his little brother. He might be a lot of things… evil, damning, the 'King of Hell', but he hates the Rogues, and he wants them gone, and it's not for the sake of humanity. If they have Rogues running around, then the humans get involved because of all the murders of their people, and then the whole Supernatural world could be exposed, and he doesn't need those Men of Letters dicks here poking around. It's bad enough that he had to take out Asmodeus. That idiot thought that he could hurt Gabriel and get away with it. Call him the Devil all you want, but he's loyal to Castiel, and he's loyal to Gabriel, and by extension (even though he hates it) he'll be loyal to the Winchesters. When Sam announced that they were 'having a movie afternoon', Lucifer perked up, asking if he could join them. He promised that they could 'keep him locked up' and Castiel rolled his eyes but waited for Sam and Dean's nods before he yanked Lucifer up by the chains around his wrists and pulled him through the Bunker to the Den. Gabriel appeared, carrying snack foods, drinks, and candy, cheerfully helping Jack to place them out on the table before he turned to see Lucifer watching him. The Archangels just stared at each other, and Castiel reminded both of them that if they're going to 'have a power struggle they can leave'. Gabriel just greeted his brother with a 'Hey Luci' smirking and turning back to take a bowl from Sam. The Devil just watched his brother. How did he survive? He asked himself. He was absolutely sure that he killed Gabriel eight years ago. The first movie that Jack chose was Elf. He avoided acknowledging Lucifer, which the Devil was trying to work on.

For most of their movie morning, Lucifer lost himself in all the colours and music and stories each of the movies were telling. Every now and then, he would look over at Gabriel and frown in confusion, then over at Dean and Castiel, raising his eyebrow and smirking. Castiel has bound himself to Dean Winchester. Lucifer could feel the bond between them, it's one of the main reasons he will keep to his word. Once they grow to trust him. Once he proves that he's on their side with the Rogues. How can I prove it to them? He asked himself, but he must have said something out loud, because Gabriel looked over at him, a sad look on his face. Yes, he has done a lot of things. He tricked everyone into thinking that he was dead, so that he wouldn't have to deal with his family, or with fighting, or with Lucifer and Michael's power battle. He ran away. Part of him regrets that choice, the other part is thankful that he did. But he and Castiel have missed out on so much, and he knows that the Seraphim wants to mimic the relationship of Sam and Dean with him, and he wants to oblige that. He wants to be able to be there for Castiel, the way a big brother should be. He just hopes that they have enough time. At the end of the fourth movie, Dean loudly announces lunch, and flicks Sam's ear, sending the two out of the room in a battle of limbs, with Mary shouting after them, and Jack laughing. Lucifer tells Castiel and Gabriel that he's 'on their side'. Both the other Angel's look at each other, then back at Lucifer, who feels like he's about to be booted off the island. Castiel is reading him, and for the first time ever, he lets it happen, because he's not lying about anything, and he wants them both to know that. Castiel just looks at Gabriel and nods his head once. The Winchester's re-enter the room, to find the three Angels speaking to one another in Enochian. Jack goes to translate, but Gabriel silences him. Dean hates this. So, does Sam. Having Lucifer in the Bunker… having him anywhere near them… heck having him on their team… is going to be literal hell. Mary calls for a family meeting and demands that everyone go to the war room. Lucifer walks himself there, standing behind Gabriel, whilst the others gather around the large table with a map in the centre of it.

'Lucifer isn't lying. Both Castiel and I have read him. Look, none of us like it, but he's on our side, and we need him. I'm just one Archangel, and no offence Cas, but you're not back at full strength yet. We need all the power, and all the hands we can get, and worst come to worse, if we need to sacrifice someone to the Rogues, it can be Lucifer,' Gabriel said

'I don't know what you want me to do to prove to you that I'm on your team. Look, I know who I am, you know who I am, and we all know what I've done. But this… The Rogues… they're dangerous. To you. To me. To all of this. Dad ain't gonna do a thing, and Gabriel is right… two Archangels… that's a gigantic power boost for your little Team Free Will 2.0' Lucifer said, and against their better judgements, the Winchesters believed it.

'If you put one horn out of line… we will send you back to the cage,' Sam said, and Lucifer extended his hand, which Sam reluctantly shook, then told Gabriel to remove the chains

'Okay, if you will let me, I have a way to track the Rogues,' Lucifer said, and everyone turned to listen to him

Christmas Eve, Evening

Mary had decided to make Christmas Eve dinner for the family, and it's the first time that Sam and Dean have actually done anything about Christmas. Castiel had gone into help Mary with the food but was left alone to cook the food when Mary excused herself to take a break. Castiel didn't mind, he likes cooking. The Seraphim was fine, just cooking the food on his own, when Gabriel and Lucifer joined him in the kitchen, they were having a heated discussion about Gabriel lying and pretending that he was dead for all of these years. Gabriel made a smart-arse comment about how he had tricked the Devil, and Lucifer glared at him. There was a flicker of the lights, and then Castiel was shouting at the both of them to 'stop', unknowingly he had used his powers to project this to the two Archangels, both of whom immediately stopped and turned to look at him, surprise on their faces. Castiel reminded them both of what the day was, what they're doing, and how he's 'not afraid to lock the devil back in the cage'. Both apologised, and then Castiel put them to work. When Sam, Dean, and Mary came to the kitchen to help with the final food preparations, they stopped in the doorway, where they watched two Archangels cooking food. Without powers. They were watching Lucifer… Lucifer… making food. The three of them looked over at the Winchesters, greeting them cheerfully, then each of them grabbed a plate of food and handed them to the stunned Hunters in the doorway, exiting the kitchen to sit at the table. Castiel didn't say much as he followed the Winchesters back out to the library, where they had set the table for dinner. Jack excitedly exclaimed that he's 'super hungry' and looked around at all the food, whilst Lucifer and Gabriel grinned cheerfully from the other end of the room. Whilst the others sat and ate, Lucifer, Gabriel and Castiel worked in the War Room on The List. Of all the names, they had managed to figure out which ones had been killed, and which ones were still alive. But it isn't going to be easy to protect them all, there are thousands of them. If the Angels wanted to come down and help out, they could, but according to Gabriel, Heaven has 'shut the doors' to protect themselves. No sense of protection for those Angels who know the names on The List. Castiel listened to Lucifer and Gabriel's plans and figured that he best come up with a solution for himself if he were to be caught by The Rogue's. All those who were chosen to look after the names, were given a self-destruct ritual, but it would kill them, and probably anyone around them. If he were to be taken, he could wipe out most of The Rogue's in one hit.

After dinner is finished, and dishes are washed, everyone decides to head to bed, mostly because Jack was bouncing on the balls of his feet, so excited for Christmas Day, that he just wanted to get to be as fast as he could to make 'Santa come faster'. Castiel chuckled, Lucifer and Gabriel tilted their heads in confusion, causing the rest of the Winchesters to chuckle before Sam explained the human traditions to the two Archangels. Lucifer scrunched up his nose, but didn't say anything else, just heading down to the wardroom/study area, where he and Gabriel were going to work out some tracking ideas. Castiel was already changing when Dean entered their room. It felt to the Hunter like they had been apart for days, so he made sure to wrap himself around Castiel to reassure himself that he was there, that he's close, and that this is all real. Dean could tell that Cas wanted to tell him something, but didn't know how to broach the topic, so he made what he thought was a joking comment about something silly, hoping to make Cas laugh, but he didn't. He just sighed, sitting down on the side of the bed, rubbing his face with his hand. Dean felt his wrist tingle, and knelt behind Cas, massaging his shoulders, pressing soft kisses to his neck, shoulders, back… everywhere he could reach, hands running down his front, teasing there. The Angel let his eyes flutter closed as his Hunter teased his body. After a moment, Cas got up on his own knees, and pulled Dean into a kiss, pressing their bodies together. Shirts were removed, and hands wandered, then Dean moved so that they were lying on the bed, facing each other, still kissing. Cas arched his back off the bed when Dean finally got a mouth around him, he will never get tired of this feeling. The Hunter smirked around Cas' member, looking up at his Angel, who was struggling to keep his eyes open at the ministrations of what he was doing, but Dean wanted more. He wanted to be inside his gorgeous boyfriend. So, he slicked himself up, having prepped Cas already, and carefully scooted himself inside the Angel, who moaned loudly, head thrown back, sweat beginning to bead on his forehead, which was odd because Angel's don't usually sweat… at all. However, that thought was lost from Dean's mind when the thrusting began, and he lost himself in the sensations of his Angel, the warmth around him as he pressed himself into Cas.

'Are you doing okay baby?' Dean asked, leaning down to kiss his boyfriend, who smiled up at him

'Yes, I'm doing okay Dean,' Cas replied, grinding himself against the Hunter so he would move again, which Dean did, punctuated by a banging on the door

'HEY… YOU BETTER NOT BE DOING ANYTHING TO MY BROTHER IN THERE!'

'Lucifer?' Castiel asked, looking at the wooden object, both men remaining quiet, before Dean let out a deliberate loud moan, and Cas had to cover his mouth with his hand to hide the chuckle

Christmas Morning

Dean doesn't remember many Christmases as a child, but he knows that they would always sleep till a respectable hour. This morning however… he was woken by Jack. The Nephilim. Jumping on their bed, screaming that 'Santa had come' and demanding that they wake up. Dean threatened to shoot the kid if he didn't shut up, and Jack chuckled, leaving the room, and shouting to the rest of the occupants in the bunker. Cas had been up already to 'be Santa' so that Jack would be excited, and when he had come back to bed, Dean had latched onto him, which would have been fine, except Jack left the door to their bedroom wide opened, which meant that anyone could just wander in… like Lucifer, who clicked his fingers and dumped water on the two of them, which almost ended in Dean shooting the Devil, only to be stopped by Castiel, who demanded Lucifer 'dry them off' which he did, grinning and smirking. Dean mentioned to Cas about getting locks for their door, and was about to exit, when Lucifer advanced on him, and Cas had to use his powers to hold him back. It wasn't anything to do with wanting to kill Dean though, Lucifer just wanted to know if The Hunter had 'defiled his little brother'. Dean didn't want to be a smart arse… he didn't want to smirk, but his face betrayed him. He felt the smirk, and heard himself say something smart, before being put in his place by the Devil 'threatening to lock him in the cage if he hurt Castiel' then Lucifer left the room, leaving Dean both surprised and a little terrified. Cas fell to his knees, having used his powers, and still being weak, Gabriel was working on getting him better but it's going to be a long process. Dean helped him onto the bed, where Cas just fell on to his side, claiming that he just 'needs a minute' telling Dean to go out to the others, and he'll join them. Reluctantly, he left the Angel, finding his family crowded around the Christmas tree in the library, with Jack bouncing on the balls of his feet, exclaiming 'finally!' when he appeared, begging to be allowed to open a gift. Dean chuckled, Sam asked where Cas was, and Gabriel looked between the two, realising that something had happened. He excused himself to check on his brother, whilst Sam, Dean, Mary, and Lucifer watched Jack open his first present like an excited child. When Gabriel returned to the room, he was followed by Castiel, who still looked pale, but claimed that he was 'well enough' to watch Jack open all his presents. Mary was taking pictures, having just discovered how to do that with her new phone.

After everyone had opened gifts, which for some reason included Gabriel and Lucifer (matching sweaters), there was a fuss about what to do next. Jack wanted to watch more Christmas movies, which Sam and Mary thought about taking a case that had popped up. Dean didn't mind what happened, usually on Christmas they're hunting anyway, so he honestly doesn't mind. Seeing Jack this morning and knowing about dinner tonight… he has a special gift for Cas that he doesn't want to give to him in front of everyone. Only Cas will understand the gift anyway, so it's less of him having to explain it to anyone. The three Angels had decided to start working on tracking the Rogues, when all three of them grabbed onto the back of a chair and cringed in pain. Castiel had it the worst, falling to his knees, hearing the voices in his head, the Enochian pleas, knowing that he couldn't do anything. Gabriel and Lucifer disappeared, whilst Dean and Sam helped Cas into a chair, but he couldn't talk to them yet. This was like the time he heard over Angel Radio about Jack coming into existence. Suddenly it stopped. The pleas, the voices… everything. Gabriel and Lucifer popped back into the bunker, startling everyone, explaining that one of the Angels who knew the names on The List, had just been killed by the Rogues, in LA. Cas nodded in confirmation, as Dean sat beside him, and Sam behind, arms crossed. They have so many questions. Lucifer told them he would go an investigate, that he will call and if it's really him calling, he'll use the word 'Encanto'. That way they can make sure. Dean nodded, happy that Lucifer was leaving for a while, and Gabriel went up to Heaven to see if he could find out whether the Angel had broken their silence. Dean had a bad feeling in his gut. He looked at Sam, who was also thinking the same thing: The Rogues are tracking down the Angels who know all the names on The List. If they know who those Angels are, then they must have either a mole, or someone from Heaven was careless. Castiel didn't say much, just that the Angel's name was Marika, and she was a good soldier, and a friend to Castiel in the past. She didn't deserve to be tortured. Mary had returned just as Gabriel popped back in from Heaven, with information that Marika had been in Los Angeles, following a Rogues lead, and someone gave her up. Someone told the Rogues that she was a 'Called'. There was a unanimous decision to go to LA, from everyone, except the two Angels.

'You want to take Castiel to LA… where another Called was just murdered… so that you can hunt something that isn't there?' Gabriel asked, trying to wrap his head around the stupid idea

'What do you mean 'something that isn't there'? The Rogues are there… obviously, and if it's too dangerous to take Cas, then he can stay here with Mom and Jack,' Dean said, cringing when he looked at his Angel, glaring at him

'OH MY GOD you're all idiots. That is exactly what they want. For all of you to barrel down there and walk right into their trap. What do you think Castiel would do if they caught you Dean? Huh? What do you think he would do? Sit here like a leper and do nothing? No, he'll go down there, try to save you, get caught and end up like Marika… or worse. Please, I want them too. But we need to be smart about this now. If they're hunting for The Called, Cas needs to lay low,' Gabriel said, almost begging

'Alright fine Gabriel. We won't go down there. I want to find these dicks and fry them all in a pool filled with Holy Oil. I'm going to the gym,' Dean said, leaving the room

'At least he's not getting a drink,' Sam said, earning nods from the rest of the occupants.

Marika's House

Los Angeles, California

Afternoon

Lucifer had gone to Marika's home, to try and find something that would lead him to where she was being held. Like most humans, she had made herself vulnerable by living amongst them. He had just begun to look around when he heard a voice behind him, and then Crowley was beside him, asking him if the Winchesters knew he was here. She smirked at the 'King of Hell' and pressed him against the wall, reminding him of who is really in charge. Crowley offered his services, mostly because he doesn't want the Archangel to kill him on the spot, which he could absolutely do. Lucifer let the demon go and asked him what he knows about the Rogues that have decided to make themselves known on Earth. Crowley explains that he's been keeping out of Angel business, but the kidnapping of Marika sparked a hunt on both sides of the scales. Demons wanted her brought back here, and the Angel's wanted her for information. Lucifer was about to throw the demon across the room in frustration but refrained when he spotted something out the corner of his eye. Crowley saw it too, both walking over to it. The Angel blade was distinct in who it belonged too, and when Lucifer picked it up, he heard the sirens going off in his mind, grabbing Crowley's arm and flying them out of there, back to the safety of the Bunker. Gabriel almost walked into the two of them, calling for the others to come to the War Room. Lucifer held up the blade, explaining that it belonged to one of the Rogues, and it can be used to track the Angel it belonged too. Dean and Sam looked between Lucifer and Crowley, standing beside each other, as though they had an inside joke none of them knew. The Demon King of Hell announced that he's 'joining their fight' and the Winchesters muttered something about 'needing more Human help' before Dean asked Lucifer who the blade belonged too. The Archangel didn't have time to reply, he just gave Gabriel the blade, before he was pulled back to LA. In the house of the fallen Called, he was brought face-to-face with three Angels, and from the looks on their vessels faces, he was sure they weren't expecting Lucifer to appear to them. The Devil smirked, clicked his fingers, and disintegrated the three Rogues out of existence. Realising that he's going to need more help, Lucifer snapped his fingers again, and Dean Winchester appeared in front of him, gun at the ready, swinging it around, until he saw Lucifer, and caught his bearings. The Hunter and the Archangel just looked at one another, before Lucifer admitted that he 'needs human help' and Dean rolled his eyes but nodded, returning his gun to its place.

Dean looked around the house, for an Angel it was pretty well kept. He noticed a few things out of place, but nothing that would suggest any foul play. Unfortunately, Lucifer wasn't as careful as he was, and knocked over something, which made a loud noise, and triggered the alarm. Lucifer clicked his fingers, made them both invisible, and told Dean to just 'stand still'. Fearing that someone was going to hear the alarm and come running, The Hunter prepared himself, but after five minutes, and nothing happening he stepped out of the invisibility and flicked the alarm off, turning to look at Lucifer, who was also surprised. He doesn't know much about humans, but he knows things about alarms and security. Knowing that something strange was going on, Dean proceeded with caution, and Lucifer was just excited to be a part of this little… whatever this is… Carefully, the two approached the stairs which would lead to the second story landing, then Lucifer heard sirens coming closer, and grabbed Dean's arm, flying them out of there, to the other side of the street, where they stood, watching as a swarm of police vehicles arrived at the house. It was shocking to see, because the alarm was loud, and they had clearly triggered it, but a silent alarm must have been sent to the police. Dean asked out loud why someone would have a silent alarm that would call the cops in their house, and when Lucifer asked if that was 'normal human behaviour' Dean replied 'alarms, yes. Silent alarms that call the cops? Not really,' . It was like a swat team, they kicked in the door, entering the house, whilst Lucifer and Dean just watched from the opposite side of the road. Marika's vessel had to be someone of importance. Dean asked if Lucifer had a picture of the Angel's vessel, and he nodded, clicking one into existence, and holding it out to Dean, who immediately recognised the woman. He grunted, reaching into his jacket to pulled out his cell phone, moving away from the scene in front of them slightly to make a call. When the cops saw them watching, both Angel and Hunter headed off down the street, not wanting to be questioned or anything. Dean called his brother, walking along the street with the Devil beside him, wasn't how he planned to spend Christmas. Just as he had connected to Sam, they were back in the Bunker, and it took Dean a minute to realise that Lucifer must have flown them back.

'Dude, what the hell?' Sam asked, throwing his phone onto the table, and walking over to his brother and Lucifer

'The Devil decided he needed my help in LA, and you know how Angels are with clicking and flying,' Dean replied, as the others joined them in the war room

'Okay, did the two of you find anything out on your little adventure?' Gabriel asked, smirking

'Yes actually, we did. Do you recognise this woman? That is the state senator for Los Angeles. She was Marika's vessel. The cops are all over this,' Dean said, the realisation that this is going to go national setting in.

Christmas Night

Work had been put on the backburner whilst Gabriel and Lucifer did some research in Heaven and Hell respectively. Whilst the Archangels were gone, Mary demanded a Family dinner, and that is currently happening now. Cas, Sam, Dean, Jack, and Mary gathered around one of the tables in the library, eating Christmas dinner, and laughing about old childhood stories that Mary had before she died. Having no clue what else was going to happen tonight, Mary suggested a games night, which Dean was loathe to admit he was excited about, escaping with Cas to his room. The Angel latched onto his Hunter, stating that he was 'worried sick when he disappeared' to which Dean kissed him, apologising, and then putting the blame on his 'idiot big brother'. Cas chuckled, sinking into the kiss, arms around Dean's neck, the Hunter pulling him close. Before they got carried away, Dean broke off, and moved to the other side of the small room, grabbing a hidden box from the bottom of his closet, and turning to face Cas, a stupid grin on his face. Cas smirked, taking the box from Dean, revealing that he too had a gift for his boyfriend, which he removed from his underwear draw. Dean chuckled, thanking Cas with a kiss, they both opened their respective presents. Cas' eyes lit up when he pulled the plush bee toy out of the box, cheerfully thanking Dean, before turning to place it on their bed, on his side. Dean affectionately rolled his eyes, then looked down at the book in his hands. The Language of Flowers. In his mind, he thought back to when he had mentioned something like this to Cas, then realised that his boyfriend loves this kind of thing and would use flower breeds to communicate with him. He was actually intrigued to read the book, and when Cas had left the room, he hid it out of sight from everyone, knowing that he shouldn't care what they think, but that macho still comes out every now and then. Cas is never afraid to admit that he likes things like Flowers and bees, and Dean wishes that he were more like that. He's working on it. That is going to be his New Years Resolution… working on accepting himself more. After the private gift exchange, Dean and Cas went back out to the library, to join in the game's night. Jack was explaining the rules of Monopoly to Mary, who was also reading the instructions to get the hang of it, whilst Sam was apparently 'the banker'. Dean and Cas sat opposite one another, with the Angel proposing a bet to his boyfriend. Raising an eyebrow, Dean smirked, agreeing, whilst Sam and the others just chuckled.

Lucifer had found out some interesting things in Hell, and Gabriel had confirmed those things from his time in Heaven. Crowley had arrived at the Bunker not too long ago and had cemented himself in the game of Monopoly that was currently happening, having said that it 'sounded interesting'. When the two Archangel's appeared back in the Bunker, it was to Dean winning Monopoly, and the others groaning and helping to pack everything up. Lucifer began explaining what he had found out. The Rogues have been recruiting Angels from Heaven, who had come to earth, and some of them who remained loyal to Heaven, were killed, but others had been sent down to Hell, to try and find some demons who would help them get the names of The Called. When The Rogues turned one of Heaven's Angel's against them, he had revealed the names of The Called, as well as some information that would allow The Rogues to get into Heaven, evading detection and change a lot of things. Gabriel and the other Angels have put in place some 'emergency procedures' to hopefully eliminate the bigger threat, but Lucifer was worried that some Demons were going to be pulled into this fight, and they won't listen to him anymore, nor will they listen to Crowley. The man in question looked up from where he was sitting and told the group he would 'handle it', he vanished. Lucifer didn't bother with that; he was more worried that the Rogues have the names of The Called. Marika hadn't broken when they tortured her, but one of them might not be as strong. Gabriel added that he had also retrieved the names of The Called, and Heaven was going to help them find the remaining three (because Cas is here) and bring them to the Bunker for safety. So, it had become clear what their new job is going to be: tracking down the reaming Called Angels and bringing them back to Lebanon, back to the Bunker. Neither Sam, nor Dean were happy about bringing all these Angel's here. Gabriel slammed his hand down on the table, exclaiming that they 'don't have time for this… unless they have a better place, they're coming here…' it was the first time Dean had seen the light shine in Gabriel's eyes as he controlled his powers so that he didn't smite the Winchester on the spot. Sam did have a better location for the Angels, which he told to Gabriel who rolled his eyes, rubbed a hand down his face, and chuckled.

'Don't you think Sammy… that if The Called would be safe in Heaven, we would have let them go? They're not safe there,'

'Gabriel is right. If the Rogues find out that The Called are in Heaven, they will just go ahead, and rampage and we can't do that. We can't do that to Heaven. If they can't come here, then we need another secure base where we can protect those Angels,' Castiel said, appealing to the humanity within the Winchesters, who both nodded

'Alright, we need to find a location them,' Dean said

'How about Hell? No Rogue in their right mind would go down there, and I can fortify Lucifer's cage to protect them?' Crowley said, having reappeared behind the group

Valley Stone Inn

Valley, Nebraska

Midday

Dean, Sam, and Cas had come to Nebraska on another Hunting case, but also because apparently one of The Called lives around these parts. Harlon Wilkes is the name of the Vessel; Elika is the name of the Angel. Castiel had sensed her presence when they were in the bar earlier but hadn't been able to pinpoint her down. Right now, Sam is researching their latest case, which appears to have been some sort of Werewolf attack, but didn't have the typical markings, so he's on the internet. Castiel is trying to subtly use his powers to find Elika, but he's having trouble concentrating because Dean… is distracting him. Lucifer had suggested they all split up to look for the remaining three Called. Mary and Jack had gone to Denver, Colorado, whilst Crowley had gone with Lucifer and Gabriel to St. Louis, Missouri. Cas had just given up and moved to push Dean back onto their bed when something threw him across the room. He crouched in the corner, head in his hands, the pain of the voices in his mind. Another of The Called have been killed. Lucifer appeared to them then, telling them that they had located their guy in Texas, and had taken him to the safe house, and that Mary and Jack had tracked down their guy, and Gabriel had gone to get them. Cas shook his head when Lucifer asked if they had Elika yet, the room was plummeted into silence when there was a banging on the motel door. Dean and Sam grabbed their guns, whilst Lucifer rolled his eyes, using his Archangel powers to incapacitate whomever it was, opening the door. A woman stepped into the room, slapping The Devil across the face, before introducing herself as 'Elika'. Dean and Sam were gaping, wondering why she had slapped Lucifer, but before anyone could say anything, Castiel was calling out from his position on the ground. Lucifer branded Elika with a sigil hiding her from Angels and closed the door. Cas screamed suddenly, banging his head against the wall, until Dean grabbed him, and held onto him, looking between the two Angels for an answer. Elika went to move over towards Castiel, but Lucifer clicked his fingers, and the trench coated Angel fell limp in Dean's arms, breathing normally. Sam glared at Lucifer, who just cheekily said 'I knocked him out for a while… don't worry, he's fine'. Dean lifted him onto the bed, then turned back to Elika. A cell phone ringing brought the tension in the room to a halt as Sam answered at the caller ID of his mother. She told them that they hadn't gotten to their guy in time… that he's dead. Sam relayed the information to the rest of the room, and Lucifer kicked the wall. He went to Gabriel to find out more.

Elika, Castiel, and the Winchesters were going to drive back to Kansas. From the moment she had seen Castiel in the bar, she knew why they were here, and she might not like Cas very much, but she doesn't want to die, and she knows that Marika, and now Mallei is gone, that she, Castiel and Hela are the only three Called left. The ride back to the safe house was done in silence. Cas slept to recharge, and Elika refused to talk until Lucifer was back. When Sam asked her what the deal with 'the slap' was, she just said 'unfinished business'. It didn't answer many questions. In fact, it proposed more questions than it answered. Elika knows what Lucifer is like, she knows what he's up to. He wants the head of the Rogues, and she is not going to let the Devil get to him. She might have had a relationship with him in the past, and she might still have feelings for him now, but her allegiance isn't to Lucifer anymore, it's to the keeper of The Rogues, and who should happen to stumble into town on a fake case that she conjured up? The Winchesters and their little lap dog, Castiel. None of them know that they have brainwashed her… she doesn't even know that. They couldn't get her to reveal the names on The List, so they brainwashed her to bring them Castiel, in exchange, they wouldn't kill her, and she would return to Heaven to live in peace. But Lucifer knocking out Castiel had done her a slight favour, in that the Seraph won't be able to sense that she is lying, and now that she has the sigil hiding her from all Angel's, when she disappears, they won't be able to find her. She did, however, find it strange that Lucifer wouldn't have been able to sense her true intentions, being an Archangel. She smirked to herself, unknown to her, that Castiel was reading her, he was pretending to be asleep, and had sent a message to Gabriel and Lucifer that they're 'coming in hot'. Having been pre-warned, Gabriel upped the warding on their safe house, and protected the other two Angels that had been cleared as not being 'corrupted'. However, if they bring Elika here, she could easily slip away, and they wouldn't be able to find her.

'We'll deal with that when it comes to it,' Gabriel replied

'We have two hours to think of a way Gabe,' Lucifer said, pacing back and forth

'Did you have to knock Cas out? We could have avoided this whole thing,' Gabriel asked, almost pained

'Castiel is fine. He needed to sleep, besides Dean was thinking very dirty things in regards to our brother… I just took the necessary steps,' Lucifer said, and Gabriel chuckled.

A/N: Have a wonderful day wherever you are, and with whatever you're doing. Thanks. D.
