Now I have to figure out the transition to the next thing
arkon3321: I agree, and it will remain like that for the fic too. Videl's perspective is just like, what a normal person looking in may see, y'know?
thewittywhy: I've gone from dreading writing Goku, to actually having a fair bit of fun with it lol.
And I son't really feel like SIGohan always has to be the strongest, so I don't mind passing the torch back over to Goku once SSG comes into place. It fits Goku better I'd say and he is technically the more skilled fighter, even if SIGohan is currently physically stronger. I do have an upgrade to The Ultimate planned, but that's a fair bit away
Qinlongfei: Making fun of Frieza is like making fun of Vegeta on steroids. It's quite fun lol.
ArguableReader (Guest) : It makes sense that that's be the only other time Zangya would show up in an anime since she was just a one movie villain. Though I'm pretty sure shes in some of the games
OthershoreAsura: To be clear, SIGohan has never gone shirtless. She's always either been wearing the Piccolo based Gi, which can stretch so much larger sizes than would be neccesary, such a with giant Piccolo, or the superhero outfit, made of a similar material to Vegeta's outfits which can similarly stretch with the great ape form
As for future power ups, I do have an upgrade planned, though it's a while out. Until then, The Ultimate should suffice, as either though she won't be the strongest, I don't really think she always needs to be
StormySpartan: nah, we're way too early for anything GT related. this is the Fusion Reborn shenanigans
Vegeta
Vegeta glanced up as he began to sense quite a few energy signals from a few cities over.
None of them were particularly powerful, but the sheer number of them might make it somewhat interesting.
At least more so than what he was currently doing, standing to the side as Bulma worked on repairing the Gravity Room.
One would think she'd have figured out how to make it sturdier by now. It was more so than it had started, but it consistently failed to keep up with the growth of his strength.
He sensed something appear behind him, and turned to see Kakarot standing there, seemingly oblivious to the strangeness of simply appearing in one's space.
"Hi Bulma! I'm taking this," he stated placing a hand on his shoulder. Before Vegeta could even protest, he no longer stood anywhere near his, home. Now instead on some grassy planet he did not recognize.
…
As expected, the strength of those coming through wasn't an issue in the slightest. It was the sheer number of them.
A well-aimed blast could take out a few of the weaker ones, but scatter shots were more efficient, even if sometimes it took a few misses or partial hits rather than taking them out with each blast it was still faster.
But even then, they just kept coming. It was almost like fighting an ever-growing swarm of bugs than I was the dead.
There were a lot of dead people in hell it seems. Who'd a thunk it.
More than once I had to form my ki in a sort of shockwave around me just to keep them from completely overwhelming me. Which, for someone who that is not a regular technique for, is rather draining.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a Frieza force guy rushing behind me. Through just as I was turning to block a blast shot him away from me.
Well, that's convenient.
I followed the trajectory of the blast to see an all too familiar white cape.
"I was fine. I had him," I defended, finding a spare second to put my hands on my hips, before immediately having to return to the blasting routine.
"I'm sure," Piccolo smirked.
And while granted it was slightly less overwhelming with two people, the keyword is slightly. At this rate, I'd run out of energy pretty quickly.
I tilted my head back to indicate a slight retreat for distance.
Once we cleared a bit away, there was finally space to take a breath. Even with the occasional blast to fend off the occasional stray, most seemed to want to stay rather close to the dimensional opening thing for now.
I guess even they barely knew how it worked.
I do recall seeing a couple repeated faces so odds are they were just respawning behind the hole again so that's reassuring.
I tsked as I looked at my coat. The whole thing was shredded. The further it got from my body, the worse off it was.
I mournfully removed it from my body. "Farewell my beloved," I lamented as I allowed it to fly off into the wind.
Piccolo looked at me like I was being ridiculous.
"It's a good coat!" I defended.
He rolled his eyes as he too, removed his cape.
I gazed back to the crowd that slowly grew bolder with their distance and destruction.
We were definitely gonna need something a bit higher scale in order to thin them out.
"Think you can clear me twenty seconds?" I asked, a grin forming on my lips.
Piccolo glanced down and smirked. "I'll even give you thirty."
He moved forward and I backed away a bit to land on one of the tallest buildings- that has sustained a fair bit of damage but hey, it was still standing at least.
I formed the all too familiar power ball in my hand. "You know, I probably should have tested this sooner," I thought out loud, before throwing caution to the wind and throwing it to the sky.
I gazed upon it as I felt the power spreading through my veins- and it felt Right.
…
Goku
Well, he had gone to King Kai's first. Then King Kai told him to go to Supreme Kai's planet because he wanted to talk to him. And apparently, Supreme Kai wanted to test the fusion earrings again, and Goku didn't really know if he liked fusing all that much, but he supposed it was good for emergencies.
So he went back to earth real quick to grab Vegeta- the Supreme Kai said it had to be him since he wanted to keep the tests consistent.
And Vegeta wasn't really happy with any of it- being kinda kidnapped or the idea of having to use the earrings. Even though Goku was pretty sure Vegeta really liked all that power last time.
But then before they even could go past being given the earrings, something was apparently happening with King Yemma. Something to do with the soul cleanser? Goku wasn't really sure how that stuff worked really. But he supposed they should probably go check it out.
…
I raised a hand and splayed it out so my palm was facing the crowd. I waited for Piccolo to be clear from the area before firing.
Now that scattershot did far more to thin the herd.
It didn't stop the apparently infinite respawn they have, but it sure did get rid of the many that had gathered.
Piccolo landed beside me, still standing taller despite the form. He glanced over me as he seemed to consider.
"Well, you seem better off than our last test."
I hummed. "I'd say so. I'd say it's close to before the Buu thing as a whole." I looked down at my hand. This time when I opened and closed it, it didn't feel too dissociative.
Piccolo turned to face the respawning crowd again, but I held up a finger.
I pulled out my new capsule and unsealed it. My cool sword and its new sheath landed in my hands.
Piccolo looked so annoyed as I swung the sheath around my shoulder.
"Why?"
"It's cool." I drew the sword to make the point. Its weight felt natural in this form.
"You don't need it," Piccolo insisted.
"There are lots of things people don't need. If one only has the bare necessities life would be quite boring."
"Put the sword away."
"No."
It was pretty amusing how frustrated Piccolo got by it. But honestly, when else am I going to be able to swing it around without being worried about dismembering anyone?
Granted in this form it's easier to separate the morality from the greater good, but still.
…
Goku wasn't really sure how to go about this fight. The first form of Janemba reminded him a lot of fighting the first form of Buu. Except it was also almost worse since he had that weird teleportation thing.
He supposed that made sense though, since it was apparently Buu's soul that broke the soul purification thingy. It made sense that the most obvious traits would be from Buu.
And it was a lot like Buu. The first form he wouldn't even describe as hostile- just dangerous in that his form of play had no care for the safety of others.
And well, he was kinda destroying the separation between the dead and living so, they kinda had to stop him from doing that.
Goku wasn't really sure how he was doing that, just that he was.
But when he transformed- that was a problem actually. Because now he was definitely malicious. And now he and Vegeta were actually in trouble. Goku was pretty sure the only reason they weren't already dead was because this Janemba was still playing- even in a much more diabolical form.
"Hey Vegeta," he started.
"No."
"I think we're gonna have to fuse."
"As if I'm going to lower myself as to fuse with the like of you for a second time to defeat what is essentially the same opponent."
"Ah, that's not fair. Janemba has that teleporting thing which is making it way harder. Also, his healing's a lot faster. Besides, Supreme Kai gave us the earrings to test anyway, wouldn't it be better to get both out of the way at once?"
"Absolutely not."
…
Krillin
This was crazy!
His first day on the job and a hole rips open in the sky. Just his luck.
He, of course, took it upon himself to lead the evacuation efforts and Uh, stay far away from the hole in the sky.
It'd be fine. He could feel Gohan and Piccolo up there. He even felt that power spike Gohan gets when using the Ultimate. Which, frankly, that was probably overkill from what he sensed.
He did volunteer to go the deepest into the fray in the evacuation. He dug through some rubble and was able to sense what building still had people in them, so he was best for it anyway.
Luckily the fighting remained high enough in the sky that he didn't have to worry about much more than the stray blast here and there.
A while in, Videl joined in the evacuation. And he appreciated it. Even if he did have to take a bit more care to check for stray blasts, it was nice to have the extra help. The fact that he didn't have to worry so much about her getting hurt as he would for any other officer helped ease the concern.
Thankfully, they'd managed to get most of the civilians out with only a few having any major injuries, mostly those who'd been on a higher floor when this all started.
If there were any casualties he wouldn't be able to sense them to tell.
He liked to think there weren't any.
…
"..hey Vegeta-"
"Just give me the goddamn earring!"
…
Hm. Now I'd been assuming that upping the time limit to nearly 45 minutes would have all but eliminated the concern of the time limit, but somehow, I simply did not take into account an immortal, respawning, infinite army of the dead. What a silly mistake.
It didn't really matter that I was infinitely stronger than any of them could ever be. Not when their numbers were endless.
I was glancing up at the fake moon to see if it'd begun fading when I saw the corners of the rift stitch together.
"Uh, hold on a second," I said to the nearest attacker, "what if when the hole closes, killing you makes you like, dead dead?" I asked. Because I'd still feel bad if I'd perma kill anyone.
The Frieza Force soldier paused. He considered. And then he turned around and started flying back to the hole. A few who were close enough to overhear did the same.
I didn't know if that would happen of course, but I'd feel weird about it being a hypothetical. It's not like I'd be able to know either way after the fact- even if I did have Goku take me to the spirit place or something, it's not like I'd know each individual I'd have to take out after the hole closed.
Which it was doing rather quickly actually.
I called out to Piccolo to clear the area as I placed both hands up, letting the sword fall to the ground.
I sent up a scattershot to take out most of the remaining hellizens, letting up the instant the hole was completely sealed.
Piccolo went to take out any remaining stragglers, Obviously not as concerned about the hypotheticals, while I landed on a building.
I glanced up to see the Power Ball flickering- and then it was gone.
I had to sit as I felt the power draining from my body- and with it any remaining energy.
A few minutes later Piccolo landed on this same roof.
"You passed out?" He asked.
I raised a hand with an "ok" sign.
I raised my head up to look at him. I felt exhausted, but not on the verge of passing out, which was on the better end of what was the norm before the Buu situation.
Piccolo held out a hand to me and I accepted it. Finding my footing steady enough I flushed a bit of my remaining ki through my limbs to get rid of some of the lethargy.
Of course that'd make me more tired later but that was a later problem.
I looked over the damage of the city. It was, pretty bad. Glad I didn't have to deal with it.
I took the sheath off my back and looked over the side of the building.
I found my sword embedded into the pavement below.
I leaped over the side of the building and examined it.
I tried lifting the sword and of course, it did not budge.
Piccolo landed beside me but did not move an inch to help.
"Go on. Pick it up," he promoted.
I glared before attempting again to similar results.
"So uh, you have a Senzu Bean?" I asked.
"You insisted on having the sword, so surely you can retrieve it yourself."
I mumbled under my breath and circled the sword, looking for a weak point in its hole.
"Oh!" I clicked open the little container on my watch to find the Senzu from the Buu fight, still covered in dirt and probably blood because I forgot to rinse it off…
I closed the little drawer.
I circled the sword again.
I determined the weakest point and pulled it that way instead of straight up. I rocked it back and forth until it eventually inched its way up.
Once I'd mostly pulled it out, it fell flat on the ground, cracking the pavement once again as it did.
I went over to the other side and shimmied the sheath under it, managing to lift it just enough to do so. Once it was sheathed I pressed the button and sealed it away back into its capsule.
"Ha!" Triumphant I tossed the capsule in the air. Any allegations that I nearly dropped it will be ignored.
Piccolo just looked amused.
Then he grabbed something out of a pocket and tossed it to me.
A Senzu Bean.
"Wooowwww. You just let me struggle for no reason." I popped the bean in my mouth, quickly feeling much better.
"I might have given it to you eventually if you'd continued to fail. Maybe. Probably not though."
I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
Piccolo seemed to consider something for a moment, before turning his hand to me.
A moment later I was once again wearing a white lab coat.
"Beloved!" I twirled on my heels in dramatics and Piccolo rolled his eyes.
I checked the back and he had even included the crest of hope that n the back-
Oh…Hm…
"You know, technically, there's supposed to be five points at the top of the crest, not four," I pointed out.
"What? Who cares about the number of points?"
"I mean, I'm just saying," I shrugged. Mostly for the fun of it. I probably wouldn't be able to fix it, the center one would then just look too thin to look natural, but it wasn't the biggest deal really.
Piccolo again, rolled his eyes at the dramatics.
"Oh! Before I forget actually. I got something for you-" I pulled out a capsule case and started looking through them.
That seemed to catch him off guard. "You, did? Why?" It's hardly the first time I've gotten him anything, but he always just seems so surprised by it.
"Ah! Found it!" I took out a capsule that I hadn't labeled "because obviously I wouldn't get it mixed up" because that always works and I absolutely never have to search through them.
But I found it which is what was important.
I unsealed it and tossed the object inside at Piccolo, who caught it reflexively.
"What...am I holding..?" He asked. As what was now in his possession was a small pink plush, mostly spherical with arms and legs, holding an immutably cheap feeling plush spear.
"Piximon! Or, as he was known before what I assume to be your dad based censorship- Piccolomon!" I grinned.
Piccolo went from confused to unamused pretty quickly, which only made my grin grow wider.
I lifted off into the sky before he could try to return it, not that I really thought he would. He always keeps the things I've given him, even if they're silly. "He's yours forever now, Bye!"
When I got home, just as I was about to switch out outfits, I noticed the crest had five points.
I couldn't even tell you when he changed it.
However, upon switching back to normal clothes, I very quickly passed out.
