Years ago, Count Dracula, the Lord of vampires and darkness, had arose to threaten humanity. Yet his resurrection was thwarted by hunters of the Belmont clan of vampire hunters as well as his own son, Alucard.
Years passed and Alucard had hoped to let the memory of his infernal heritage die with time.
However, whilst living in solitude with the hunter Maria Renard, a mysterious castle rose from the mist, and beckoned to him. Leaving in the dead of night to ensure Maria's safety, Alucard went to investigate, fearing that his father had once again been brought back from the dead.
However, he finds that the situation is far more complicated than he could ever have imagined. The castle is lorded over not by Dracula but an enigmatic vampiress named Carmilla and her daughters, with their intentions a complete mystery. Yet this does not deter Alucard from wanting to put a stop to her potentially nefarious plans.
Alucard, along with several time-displaced hunters and children of the night, must venture into the castle and stop Carmilla, or else a horror more dangerous than even his own father could be unleashed upon the world.
