The idea of the L-ementals was originally collectively created by AxelGripp, Khalalat, juribelit, Bry-Guy-1996, and Syfyman2xxx. I found it on DeviantArt and couldn't help but be intrigued by it and the possibilities of what to do with it. So now, with permisssion from AxelGripp, I am creating my own story using the concept, with help from my buddy dubb1.

Chapter One

"Alright everyone, we're here."

Vanzilla pulled into a parking lot in front of the Royal Woods convention center. The building had a banner above the doors that said 'Young Scientist Fair'. The doors to the beaten up van opened and one by one each member of the Loud family came out.

"I hope there's something fun here to do." Lynn said, stretching her arms over her head.

"It wouldn't be 'fair' if there wasn't. Ha ha, get it?" Luan joked, stepping out behind her younger sister.

"Hold on everyone, we have to help set up Lisa's booth first. Then you can go off and explore." Rita Loud told her daughter.

"Yeah yeah, we remember." Lynn replied, taking a box that her father handed her from the back of the van. One by one each of them took a box too, except for Lily and Rita, who was holding Lily.

"Do you really need all these boxes?" Lola asked Lisa.

"Yes I do, or else I wouldn't have brought them."

"Why are you in this thing anyway Lisa? You're practically already in college, so why do you need to win a scholarship?" Luna asked, trying to improve her grip on her own box.

"I'm doing this for the rest of you. If I win the scholarship, I'll transfer it over to the eldest one of you that actually intends to attend college." Lisa answered.

"Geez, wish this had happened a year ago." Lori remarked. Sure she didn't hate her community college, but it would have been nice to have the opportunity to have other options beforehand.

Leni, Luna, and Luan looked amongst themselves, wondering which one of them would be the one to get the prize.

The family went inside the convention center and were told by one of the fair organizers to go to the back. There they found the designated booth for Lisa and began to set up.

"About time your poop studies got results." Lincoln muttered, putting out some containers that he really did not want to open.

"Thanks to all your contributions, I believe I have finally found a way to minimize the need for the human body to create so much waste by-products. If the judges approve of my results, I can get the proper funding to create medication that will make it so everyone only needs to use the facilities once or twice a week."

"Less time on the throne, more time in the game." Lynn summarized, putting up a small tv while Lucy pulled out a cage of white mice.

"Essentially, yes." Lisa agreed.

"Why does this one smell so good?" Lana asked, holding up a green box.

"You are so gross." Lola commented.

"Relax, that one is unrelated to my exhibit." Lisa assured, taking the box and opening it. Inside were dozens of cupcakes.

"Whoa, please tell me these aren't part of your reverse laxative thing." Luna said, mouth starting to water.

"Just think of them as my way of thanking you all for the work you unknowingly put into this." Lisa replied, putting the box on the table. "Help yourselves."

Each Loud sibling took one and carefully tried a cupcake, including Lily. There was no notable difference to the taste, so they continued without fear of Lisa altering them in any way.

"Since some of you have friends here, I provided enough for you to give one or two to them. Social conventions dictate I be nice like that." Lisa added.

"Wow, how thoughtful." Leni said, happily.

"Hold on, are you sure you didn't do anything to these?" Lori asked.

"Yeah, it's kind of odd that you would be this nice just because." Luna added.

Lisa adjusted her glasses. "I assure you that all ingredients are safe for human consumption. Do you really think I would be so careless as to risk poisoning Lily? Parental units, go ahead and try one too."

Lynn Sr and Rita looked somewhat nervous. "We'll hold off for now. Wouldn't want to deprive all your friends of a tasty treat."

Several of the Loud children just kept snacking without care, while the more cautious ones chewed slowly but still wondered if something was off.

"Hey, what's this?" Lincoln asked, seeing a folded piece of paper in the cupcake box. He pulled it out and saw a note with a lot of small words, with two big ones standing out.

"What's Compound L?" Lucy asked, reading over her brother's shoulder.

"Oh, I was wondering where I put that." Lisa said, taking the note and putting it in her pocket. "Compound L is a placeholder name for my entry into this fair. I don't know how that got into the cupcake box."

"You didn't put this stuff in the cupcakes, did you?" Lola asked, suspicious.

"I believe I already told you the pastries were safe, did I not?" Lisa asked back.

"The show should start in an hour." Lynn Sr reminded everyone while looking at his watch. "Go ahead and keep yourselves occupied until then, but be back on time. Is that clear?"

"Yes Dad." Everyone said before leaving and separating, some taking extra cupcakes with them.

"You okay on your own?" Rita asked Lisa.

"Yes mother, I know what I need to do at this point."

"Okay, see you in an hour." Rita said, walking away along with her husband and Lily.

"Finally." Lisa sighed in relief when she could see none of her family anymore. "Now to set up the real exhibit."

The young genius then moved some false bottoms in the boxes and pulled out a lot of machinery which she began to snap together piece by piece.

"I hope Bobby will be here." Lori said, walking alongside Lincoln.

"I got word from Ronnie Anne that they're very close. One of her cousins is in this thing so the whole family will be here like we are." Lincoln told her.

"Then let's go outside."

Lori and Lincoln left the building, seeing other cars pull up and park. Both recognized one car quickly.

"Boo-boo-bear!" Lori said happily as she went to greet her boyfriend Bobby when he emerged from the Casagrande's car.

"Lori!" He greeted happily, welcoming her into a hug.

"Heya Lame-o." Ronnie Anne said to Lincoln when she got out too.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" Lincoln said back, offering her a cupcake.

"Oh thanks, I'm starving." Ronnie Anne said, taking it and scarfing it down like she was convinced someone would take it away if she didn't.

"Here Bobby, I got you one too." Lori said to Bobby, offering him a cupcake too. "Careful though, Lisa may or may not have tampered with it."

"That didn't stop me from eating that sandwich with you months ago, remember?" Bobby told her, eating his dessert.

"Hi Lincoln." Clyde said, coming up to his friend when he saw him. "Oh, hi Ronnie Anne."

"Clyde? What brings you here?" Ronnie Anne asked.

"After this science fair there's going to be a comic expo, and a food fair next door." Clyde told her, pointing to the mall parking lot next to the convention center. Looking over everyone could see booths being set up outside.

"Sounds like a busy day today." Lincoln noted, then held up one last cupcake he had taken without getting caught. "Want one?"

"Sure." Clyde accepted and took a bite.

"Science, comics, and free food all in one place? Sounds like someone really wanted a lot of people here today." Ronnie Anne muttered.

Lincoln blinked. "You know, it does sound like that. Should we be worried that there's some kind of trap going on?"

"Oh please, don't be so paranoid." Ronnie Anne said before her family called for her to follow them.

"By the way Ronnie Anne, why is your family here?" Clyde asked as he and Lincoln followed her.

"My uncle is one of the judges. And since he made us all skip breakfast, my guess is he knew about the food fair too and that's why he brought the rest of us here too." Ronnie Anne answered.

"I thought your cousin was in this?" Lincoln pointed out.

"No, I said my uncle was judging. You must have misheard me." She corrected.

'With all the background noise in my house that is entirely possible.' Lincoln thought.

The trio went inside the convention center. Other booths were getting set up too, at this point it was hard to tell what each one was demonstrating.

"Hey, look at that one." Clyde pointed out, bringing them to a booth that promoted making all sorts of slimes.

"Really? Isn't this kind of juvenile?" Ronnie Anne asked, remembering her younger cousins playing with some slime months ago until the adults got it out of the house. It made too much of a mess for their liking and Carlotta did not like having to clean it out of her clothes.

Clyde grabbed what was advertised as a free sample and stretched some between his hands. "Feels like rubber cement."

"Really? Let me try." Lincoln said, grabbing a sample too and experimented with it. "You're right, it's just rubber cement but less sticky. Kinda boring."

"I've seen silly putty with more personality than that stuff." Ronnie Anne commented.

The trio instantly decided to check out more booths. At one they saw Luna with Sam checking out some gemstones and at another they saw Lori and Bobby observing some kind of fire pit where the flame responded to music, like one of those water fountains where a song affected how the water danced around. Leni was interested in a water purifier while Lana and Lola were intrigued by a booth that showed all sorts of flowers and the soil samples they were grown in. Luan was helping herself to a stand that was providing shaved ice while Lynn was playing with some magnetic building blocks trying to create a stadium. Lucy was nowhere to be seen, par for the course.

"They got some neat stuff here after all." Lincoln said, checking out a few others being set up.

"Hey Lincoln Lame! Think fast!"

Turning around, Lincoln was hit in the face by a pile of slime, followed by laughing from a familiar voice.

"Chandler." Lincoln grumbled, annoyed, while wiping his face.

"Oh Lame, you really know how to make me laugh." Chandler taunted.

"Get lost Chandler. And leave my buddy alone." Clyde demanded.

Chandler smirked as he walked over to the trio. When he got close enough he reached out and snatched the remainder of Clyde's cupcake, eating it in front of everyone.

"Hey! That was mine!"

"You can have it back in a few hours." Chandler responded with a wicked grin.

"Back off Chandler or else!" Ronnie Anne warned.

"Get lost Santiago, I'm not afraid of you. Everyone knows you went soft after you moved to Great Lake City."

Ronnie Anne then grabbed Chandler by the shirt collar, making him lose his smirk. "Still think I went soft?"

"Hey there's no need for all this. I was just kidding around."

"You have five seconds to get out of my sight before I turn you into a human pretzel."

Ronnie Anne then let go of his shirt and Chandler began walking away mumbling to himself.

"I could have taken her, she's just lucky I don't hit girls."

"You're just going to let him go with a warning? After quoting Lori? That's not the Ronnie Anne I know." Lincoln asked his other best friend.

"Wait for it." Ronnie Anne said confidently, crossing her arms and keeping an eye on the departed boy.

About five seconds later there was a loud pop followed by a yelp and cry of anguish.

"Whoa, what reeks?" Clyde asked, pinching his nose.

"Chandler." Ronnie Anne answered, trying not to laugh and failing.

"Now that's the Ronnie Anne I know." Lincoln praised, patting her on the back.

Chandler gave them a dirty look, as if he wanted to hit each one of them. Fortunately he wanted to get rid of the stink bomb effects more and left for the public restroom.

"I need to get this stuff off my face." Lincoln said, still wiping some gunk off him.

"Over there, something that looks like a blow dryer. That might do it." Clyde suggested.

Shrugging, Lincoln went to a machine that looked like a popcorn maker and pushed a button. He felt a surge of air, much like a hand drier in a restroom, and put his face in front of it. He wasn't sure if it was working, but it felt good.

"That's better. And smells like pine."

"Hey Ronnie Anne!"

The Hispanic girl turned to her left and saw Sid coming her way. "Sid? I didn't know you were going to be here."

"Neither did I. But my parents were paid to bring in some supplies and I came along. Look at this." Sid explained before holding up a small figure of Yoon Kwan.

"Is that a candle?" Ronnie Anne asked, seeing a wick.

"Yeah, there's a booth here that lets you make customized candles. I tested to see if it could make one of these, and it did. That's awesome. Maybe next time I'll try one of me."

"A wax Sid, is the world ready?" Ronnie Anne joked.

"Hey Lincoln, is that Stella?" Clyde asked.

Lincoln looked down one of the rows of booths, as did Ronnie Anne, and down by the end there was indeed Stella who looked like she was painting a sign.

"We'll see you later Lincoln." Ronnie Anne said, leaving with Sid.

"Wait!" Lincoln objected, but the girls didn't respond and went around a corner. "Ah man, I was looking forward to spending time with her."

"Then go after her." Clyde told him.

Feeling a burst of confidence, Lincoln did just that and caught up to her.

"You didn't have to leave me." He said when he got next to Ronnie Anne, who was surprised.

"I thought you'd want to go be with your girlfriend." Ronnie Anne claimed.

"You're one of my best friends and I don't get to hang out with you as much as I want. Right now I'd like to spend time with you more than anyone else."

Ronnie Anne blushed but she smiled. Sid nudged her with her elbow in an encouraging way. Clyde joined up and the four continued on, chatting and looking at the exhibits.

"Damn it, this jacket's never going to smell right again." Chandler bitterly mumbled to himself as he left the restroom. He smelled better now, but he knew the odor still lingered.

"I can't fight Santiago, no matter how much she deserves it, but I can do something about Lame. But what?"

Walking around, Chandler looked for Lincoln but couldn't find him or his friends. But she found something else.

"Isn't that his nerdy sister? What's she building?"

Hiding behind a booth that had a few incense burners lit to better hide the odor, Chandler observed Lisa at work.

"Lisa, what is that?" Rita asked while she and her other children regrouped.

"Forgive my deception family, but my claim of my entry being a waste suppressant was not entirely accurate. I'd like you all to bare witness, and soon you will all behold the true fruits of my labor."

"No offense, but what's this hunk of junk supposed to do?" Lynn asked.

"Isn't it obvious? It's a whole new toilet." Leni stated.

Lisa sighed and resisted the urge to face-palm. She couldn't fault her second oldest sister for what she said, the machine on her table was somewhat cylindrical, wider on the bottom, colored chrome, and had a circular component through the middle. Honestly it did bear a slight resemblance to a toilet, but the real intention was the Hadron Super Collider, just scaled way down.

"This 'hunk of junk' as you put it, will solve all the world's energy problems. No more power bills, surges, or outages, or a dependency on oil. Plus it's perpetual so it never runs out of energy."

"So no more high electricity or heating bills? That's a ding dang bright idea sweetie." Lynn Sr. praised.

"Thank you father. There's also another function, but that requires the use of Compound L, which I'm not finished working on."

"What will that do?" Lana asked.

"Once the person ingests it, and the energy waves from the particle accelerator interact with that person, Compound L is supposed to stimulate the body to self-repair at an optimal level. Think of it parental units, people who are dying from cancer, I'll be able to purge it from their body without the need for surgery or chemotherapy. People paralyzed from the waist down will be able to work again because their spines fixed themselves. And broken bones will be a thing of the past." Lisa said triumphantly, looking like a mad scientist in the process.

"Holy moly! You'll be famous, sweetie." Rita exclaimed.

"Just don't start feeding people that chemical until you work out all the bugs." Lynn Jr warned.

"Of course. By the way Lynn, would you like another cupcake?"

"Sure, why not?"

'Looks like I know how to ruin Lincoln Lame's day.' Chandler thought with a devious grin.

Everyone could hear a microphone turn on and get into tune.

"Looks like it's starting."

"Alright everyone, thank you for attending this year's science fair. It looks like we've got a lot of impressive displays to behold." Carlos Casagrande announced as a crowd gathered.

While everyone was distracted and more cupcakes were being handed out to other friends of the Loud siblings, Chandler snuck into Lisa's booth and got up to the particle accelerator. There were a couple of buttons on the front but there was a panel on the back, and luckily for him Lisa had left a screwdriver on the table.

"This is too easy." He chuckled before unscrewing the panel to expose the circuitry inside. He had no idea what was what in there, if he hadn't overheard the conversation for all he knew this was just a toaster that had an Alexa attached to it. But he did know that nothing in there was supposed to be touched by unprofessional hands.

Acting quickly to avoid being spotted, Chandler pulled out two wires and crossed them, plugging each back into the other's port. Then he screwed the panel back on and walked away from the booth.

'Looks like someone's not even going to get third place. Maybe next time your brother shouldn't get girls to put stink bombs in my clothes.'

After all the visitors had time to check out the various booths, it was now time for the judges to do the same. Three judges began traversing the area, headed by Carlos Casagrande Sr. The judges enjoyed many of them, from homemade tesla coils to light bulbs that would last years. Then they got to Lisa's booth.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a household particle accelerator. Capable of providing all the energy the average American household will ever need." Lisa declared, showing off her exhibit.

"Can it charge my phone?" One of the judges asked, pulling out their cellphone.

"Sure, I included a charging port." Lisa answered, getting a cord and plugging it into the accelerator before the judge plugged the phone into the cord. Lisa then flipped a switch, waiting for the accelerator to start up.

There was no reaction.

"Huh?" Lisa asked herself, not expecting this. She flipped the switch on and off again, then she left it on and waited. "Perhaps the start up is delayed."

"It did work before you brought it here, right?" Carlos asked.

"Of course. I wouldn't bring it if it didn't." Lisa assured.

The judges and spectators waited, but the accelerator still remained inactive.

"Sorry Ms Loud, better luck next time." One of the judges said before taking their phone back and moving on to the next booth.

"Wait, it will work." Lisa insisted, but the judges ignored her. Carlos spared her a sympathetic look, but continued on too.

"It's okay Lisa, you did your best." Rita said, coming up to comfort her daughter.

"Lisa, are you crying?" Lana asked, seeing tears form in her younger sister's eyes.

"I… I don't understand. Why didn't it work?" Lisa sniffled, trying not to give in to her more emotional side.

"Maybe something got left in the van?" Leni suggested.

"I'll go check." Lynn Sr offered before hurrying towards the parking lot.

Lisa was having a hard time keeping herself from crying. Everyone felt a little hurt seeing the young genius show this kind of vulnerability. Rita handed Lily to Lori and then took Lisa into her arms, who let herself be held and comforted. The family gathered around to let Lisa come to terms. Ronnie Anne, Sid, and Clyde stood off to the side, not sure what to say to anyone here.

When no one was looking, a slight red light began to glow on the particle accelerator. A light that wasn't supposed to be there.

As his sisters said all sorts of things to the distraught genius among them, Lincoln couldn't help but notice Chandler off to the side, leaning against a wall looking quite pleased with himself. Big brother instincts kicked in so he stepped away from his family. Curious, Ronnie Anne joined him while Clyde and Sid stayed back.

"Yes?" Chandler asked, condescendingly.

"I know you're not the nicest guy Chandler, but what kind of jerk sees a five year old girl cry and smiles?"

"Guess the little brat needs to be more careful with her toys. Or maybe her brother needs to avoid making me look bad."

Lincoln's eyes briefly widened before narrowing in anger. Before he knew what he was doing, Lincoln threw a fist into the rich boy's face. Not expecting any physical retaliation, Chandler took the full force of the hit and fell on his back.

"You crossed the line Chandler! Messing with me is one thing, but you don't mess with my family!" He growled.

"You… you hit me!" Chandler sputtered, looking and sounding like he didn't know whether or not to be more surprised or angered.

"Stay down, or he won't be the only one to do so." Ronnie Anne warned, hitting one hand with her fist.

"C'mon Ronnie Anne, let's go tell your uncle before the judges get too far away." Lincoln said as he walked off with Ronnie Anne following, leaving Chandler stunned and a little afraid.

"Looks like you're in trouble." Sid taunted with a smirk.

Chandler grit his teeth and got up. "Not if I have anything to say about it."

Sid and Clyde each rushed in and grabbed an arm to restrain him. Chandler thrashed to break free and ran off before they could do it again.

"Tio Carlos!" Ronnie Anne called when she saw him and the judges. Carlos and the others looked to her, seeing her run towards them. "We just heard someone admit they tampered with an exhibit."

"Really?" One of the judges asked.

"Yes, his name is Chandler McCann and he did something to my sister's booth. The one with the particle accelerator. Give her a moment and she can fix the problem and show you how it works this time." Lincoln explained.

"It wouldn't be fair to give her a second turn." One of the judges claimed.

"Then again, if sabotage is indeed the problem it would be unfair of us to ignore it." Carlos pointed out. "We'll give you five minutes, if she hasn't fixed it by then she's out of luck."

"Thank you." Lincoln said before running to his family with Ronnie Anne beside him.

While Lincoln and Ronnie Anne ran to Lisa's booth, the rest of the Louds were still comforting the young genius, unaware of what had just happened.

"It'll be okay sweetie." Rita soothed.

"There will be other science fairs." Lynn Sr added.

"You're literally still the smartest one here."

"And there will be other chances for scholarships."

"Guys hold on!" Lincoln called to his family, getting their attention now.

"Where have you been Stinkin?" Lynn asked, hoping he wasn't going to make this worse.

"Lisa listen, your invention didn't malfunction. Chandler messed with it."

"What?" Everyone replied in surprise.

"Sabotage?" Lisa asked, wiping her eyes but looking less sad now.

"He did something that made it break. We told my tio Carlos and he agreed to give you another chance if you can fix it in five minutes." Ronnie Anne clarified.

"Really?" Lisa asked, a smile starting to form while her tears stopped falling down her face. "If this was the result of sabotage it shouldn't take me long to fix whatever he did."

"Not if I have anything to say about it!" Chandler yelled from a distance before he hurled something at the machine like he was throwing a dodgeball. Whatever he threw hit and burst, dousing the accelerator with water.

"No! My invention!" Lisa shouted.

"Serves you right Louds!"

Several of the sisters stepped towards the bratty boy, all looking outraged.

"I'm going to turn you inside out." Lynn threatened.

"When I'm done with you, you'll be afraid to be out in public." Lola proclaimed, looking like she should be brandishing a switchblade as she said that.

"Young man, how could you do such a thing?" Rita chastised.

"It's Lincoln's fault, be mad at him, not me." Chandler accused, pointing to the white-haired member of the family.

Lisa went over to her accelerator, using paper towels to try and dry it. While doing that she saw the red light from before, but now it was brighter and the machine was making hissing noises like a tea kettle. Not only that, the thing was vibrating a bit.

"What did he do? It's not supposed to be doing this."

The hissing got louder and more worrisome, so Lisa was forced to put it down. At the same time she fell to her knees clutching her stomach in agony. "What's happening to me?"

All around her, each of her siblings did the same thing, along with Ronnie Anne, Clyde, Sid, and even Chandler. Throughout the convention center, several other people that the Loud siblings had interacted with were doing the same. Rita and most of the adults on the other hand showed no signs of problem.

"Kids? Kids, what's wrong?" Rita asked, trying to comfort them. Lily was showing the same symptoms too and crying loudly, so she had to put her youngest daughter down.

"My stomach…" Luna groaned, looking like she was about to throw up.

"My insides are on fire!" Lori rued, rolling on her side while sweating.

"I feel like I'm going to explode!" Clyde lamented, his voice strained.

"What's going on?" Lynn Sr asked when he rejoined his family.

"I don't know." Rita confessed, unsure what else to say. She eyed the accelerator which looked like it was overloading if she had to guess. "Someone turn that thing off!"

Despite the sick feeling, Lincoln powered through as he and Ronnie Anne moved to the booth. At the same time Lisa tried to turn off her malfunctioning machine, her body getting weaker the closer she was.

"I've got to stop this…" Lisa told herself, trying to flip the switch but for some reason it was jammed. The vibration got more intense and all the hairs on her body began to stand on end.

"Lisa, get back!" Lynn Sr said, pulling her away from the machine.

Lisa didn't want to let go, so she pulled the machine with her. Her grip weakened due to feeling some unexpected static shocks, resulting in it being on the edge of the table and unbalanced. Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were the closest on that side so they tried to stop it from falling over, but Chandler cut them off.

"Just smash the damn thing! Make this stop!" Chandler insisted, looking like he wanted to vomit.

Unable to do anything now, Lincoln watched the particle accelerator hit the ground and partially split open.

The red light spilled out and turned into some kind of rainbow aurora that filled the entire building, brightest by the broken accelerator. For most people, it was just a colorful light, but for those already in pain, this just made it worse.

The sounds of screams filled the convention center. Then there was a sound like an explosion but all anyone felt was a sudden burst of wind. Then the lights dulled and the pain diminished.

"Kids?" Rita asked, seeing her daughters stop acting like they were in agony.

"It's… better, but I still don't feel too good." Luna explained, struggling to stand up.

"What the hell is that?!"

Everyone turned to see what looked like a small black hole floating in the middle of the room, more specifically where Lisa's booth had been. Except this hole actually looked like a hole in the air rather than a hyper dense collapsed star, and instead of being black it was a mix of teal, light green, and aqua blue all at once with a little white and yellow thrown in. Strangest of all, there was no gravitational pull towards it, but there was some kind of dark vapor emitting from it. Vapor that almost looked like serpents reaching out.

"Evacuate!" One of the judges shouted, and no one protested.

Everyone scrambled to run out of there, many still feeling unwell and needing help to do so. The Louds saw Chandler hobble out of there like he'd be arrested if caught, though he had a hard time doing so. He leaned against a booth for a moment and vomited all over what display was there then kept going. Right now though the Louds were more concerned with getting somewhere safer over teaching the brat some manners.

The Louds got to Vanzilla, Rita and Lynn Sr looking over their children with concern. None of them looked any good, it was like they all were in need of the hospital. Lori and Leni were sweating profusely, Luna and Lynn looked pale, Luan was shivering, Lucy was trying to keep the sun out of her eyes, Lola looked a little green and ready to vomit herself, Lana looked like she had fallen and gotten dirty, Lisa looked frazzled, and Lily squirmed like she couldn't stay still.

"Wait, where's Lincoln?" Lynn Sr asked.

Everyone looked around, thought Luna acted as if her joints were protesting, but no one could see the white-haired member of their family.

"LINCOLN!" Everyone shouted, hoping he'd respond.

"Lori!" Bobby called out, running towards his girlfriend. He must have been unwell too, his voice did not sound normal. "Have you seen Ronnie Anne?"

"No, I haven't. Have you seen Lincoln?"

"I thought he was with you." Bobby replied, his voice squeaking.

"Lincoln!" Leni shouted again.

"Ronnie Anne!" Sid called out, she looked a little off-color like several others did too.

"Rita, take the kids home. I'll search for our son." Lynn Sr offered, to which his wife nodded.

The girls protested a little, but Rita made them get into the van. Despite their worry for their brother, they did want to go home and get some rest. Rita drove off while Lynn Sr joined Bobby and the Casagrandes in the search for the missing kids.

They all heard a rumbling sound along with tremors in the ground, making them freeze.

"Earthquake?" Carlotta asked.

"In Michigan?" Maria asked back.

Greenish-blue light began to pour out of the convention center like a lot of spotlights were suddenly turned on. Then the walls started to break as if they were made out of graham crackers. Everyone got away from it, praying that Lincoln and Ronnie Anne weren't still inside. When the front wall was gone, everyone could see that brightly-colored black hole was now big and slowly rising in the air. And the vapors emitting from it were either turning into sludge on the ground or spreading out among the winds to the rest of the world.

"Help!"

"Lincoln?" Lynn Sr asked, having heard his son's voice but he couldn't see him.

A human hand came out of the hole, with a purple sleeve. "Get me out of here!"

"Ronalda!" Maria cried, rushing towards the anomaly to save her daughter. Before she could get close, some of the sludge rose up like a snake and tried to bite her.

"What in God's name?" Maria asked, jumping back. She looked to the hole and saw Ronnie Anne's arm being pulled in. A part of her wanted to forgo the sludge snake and rescue her daughter, but the piles of goo collected and grew in size, soon towering over everyone like some kind of titan.

Everyone panicked and ran, trying to get away from whatever had just been created and unleashed. The slimy titan roared like it was in agony before bubbling like it was boiling from the inside, then it exploded.

From a distance it looked like a mushroom cloud where the convention center was supposed to be. Rita could see it in the rearview mirror of Vanzilla and stepped on the brake.

"Lynn! Lincoln!"

Sludge and vapor spread everywhere, covering almost everything and everyone in Royal Woods who had been outside at the time. Almost immediately people started falling ill.

Rita drove back towards the convention center, the van struggling to drive over piles of mucus everywhere on the road. When she got there she parked and opened a window to stick her head out, immediately gagging on the now foul air.

"Lynn?! Lincoln?!"

The patriarch of the Loud Family slowly walked to her, trying to wipe all sorts of gooey stuff off him. He looked very unwell, like he wanted to vomit everything he had inside him.

"Our son is… our son is…" He started, only to lean over and throw up.

"Where's Lincoln?" Lori asked.

Lynn Sr just pointed to the blue-green hole that was now a good twenty feet in the air before collapsing to his knees.

Rita got out of the van and moved him to the passenger seat.

"We can't leave Linky." Leni insisted when she saw her mother get ready to drive off.

"Do you think I want to?" Rita asked, tears in her eyes.

No one said anything, and she drove off towards the city hospital. In the mirrors she could see the Santiagos doing the same.

Paramedics were called for practically everywhere in Royal Woods, but there weren't enough ambulances or doctors in the city to tend to everyone that needed help. What was worse was within the hour the cities closest to Royal Woods were experiencing something similar due to the vapors spreading. And that blue-green hole that had started it all, now hung high in the sky and spread out like a spider web.

When the sun went down, the entire town had heard what happened at the convention center, but Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were nowhere to be found.
