"Olly, somebody's here to speak with you."
The soothing sound of Olivia's voice caused Olly to wish he could never wake agian and just listen to her speak. Of course, if somebody wished to speak with the king, he should hear what they had to say. Olly forced his eye open, Olivia greeting him with a smile.
"Olivia?" His gaze shifted to the ceiling, then to the stained-glass Princess. "We're back in Origami Castle?"
Olivia nodded.
Olly sat up with help from his sister.
"Do you feel any better now that you've returned to normal?"
Olly reached a hand to his sister's face and moved some loose hair aside. "Yes, I do."
Olivia smiled. "That's great!"
"It looks just the way I pictured but-OH! What's this? All of those cranes!"
Olly froze. From the voice to the way he spoke, Olly could tell it was the Origami Craftsman. Olly hoped it wasn't true, but his eye failed to deceive him.
"You...!"
"Did you make these?" He responded. "They're so well done!"
Olly began trembling again, Olivia coming over to comfort her brother.
"Only origami is allowed here! Begone from here, you disrespectful-" Olly collapsed, slipping from Olivia's comfort. He coughed up blood again, Owen becoming worried for the royal.
"Olly! What did you do?" Their creator rushed over. "You practically used all of your energy!"
"St-stay away from me...!" Olly ordered weakly. "I want nothing to do with you...!"
He scooped Olly's hands into his own and gently closed his fingers around them. "Oh, Olly..."
Olly snatched his hands back. "You have no right to call me that...! You disowned me, disrespected me...! Origami will take its revenge..."
Olly stood and gently lifted from the ground. He held out his arm, it pointed towards his father. It began shaking, and Olly collapsed again; once more coughing out blood.
"Brother! Oh, Olly! Just listen to him for once, please!"
"Why should I? Look at what you've done to me. Because of you, I am a disgrace to all of origami. I shouldn't be its king for what you've done."
The look of sadness and defeat spread across his face. "Olly...no. King Olly."
"Shut it! I don't need you! I don't need anyone! All anyone has ever done for me is just leave me behind! You, Olivia, my Legion...the Princess. Not even my own Folded Soldiers want me...!"
"I never said I didn't want you."
"Then why? Why did you treat me like this?!"
"The reason you're faded is because you were made from the very first sheet of origami paper I'd bought. I was saving that sheet for something special. I saved it for when I would fold you."
Olly rubbed his eye to rid the forming tears. "Then...what about the writing...?"
"It was a very nice letter wishing you well as the new King. I know I shouldn't have written that on you, but I did anyways. I'm sorry. I'm not worthy of being your father."
Olly's gaze saddened, then turned to Olivia.
"And you don't deserve to be my son."
That crushed him. Just a moment ago, he sought to destroy the Toad; but him saying that with such a sad, truthful tone completely destroyed him. Olly could no longer hold back his emotions, and he started bawling. Trembling and exhausted, he rested his hands on the ground and let gravity take his tears.
"Brother? Are you alright?" Olivia rested a hand on his back.
"Olly..." The Origami Craftsman lifted Olly's head gently and accepted his small hands."I love you, and I always have." His smile faded. "Why are you crying? What's wrong?"
"I-I was a-a terrible per-person! I hurt you a-and Livi and M-Mario and the Princess and-"
He placed a hand on Olly's head, gently rubbing Olly's ruined hair. "You're okay now. It's alright. You're okay, you're okay..."
"I did...I did-"
The Toad did soothing shushing sounds; still rubbing his head. "That's in the past now. You can forget, and you can forgive."
Olly rested his face on the Toad's shoulder, the tears being soaked into his paper as well.
Olly left the embrace, still sad but seeming calmer than before. "Ooh, I was so awful to all of you...I'm s-s-s..." He tugged his collar higher, blocking off his face. "Oh...why does it feel so wrong? Why can't I say it?"
"I get it," Bowser stated, "apologizing can be hard, especially if you're saying sorry to the guy you just tried to kill. But hey, take it from me; it's kind of worth it in the end, you know?"
"Olly," Olivia said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We all forgive you! And...if you feel well enough, you could show us you're sorry by unfolding Origami Castle. If you're able to undo this, anyhow..."
Olly fiddled with his hands. "Yeah...I think I can."
"We should-a leave first," Luigi suggested.
They exited the castle, Olly facing it once they were in Toad Town. He held out his arms, his eye glowing once more. The castle began unfolding, but Mario noticed how much Olly was straining to do so.
"Olly, don't do this if it hurts!" Olivia said.
"Stay back, Livi."
"But-"
He shoved her backwards with Fold of Life, making her crash into Mario.
"Let your big brother do this. Let me make it up to you."
Origami Castle unfolded back into Peach's Castle, but it began lightly shaking with his hands.
"Hah...hah...Maybe?" Olly muttered.
The castle slid towards the town in a slow descent. The Toads all screamed and fled with all of Bowser's minions besides Kemek and Bobby. Bowser slid his son closer to him. The castle fell, standing nearly straight up, tilted at an angle.
"Olly!" Olivia swooped in and dragged her brother away.
It crashed down, almost crushing Olly; and it would've if Olivia hadn't saved him anyway. The glow in his eye faded away. Thankfully, her castle no longer needed to be moved, since it now sat where it belonged.
"I-I almost got crushed...Wow. Now I know why you were so upset at me!" Olly broke into a coughing fit.
"Olly!"
Peach fluttered down, slowing her decent by fluffing out the bottom of her dress. She landed on the floor and turned towards her castle.
"Oh! It's back where it belongs." She examined her hands. "And I'm not origami." She looked at Olly, hearing his coughing. "Oh! King Olly, are you okay? That doesn't sound pleasant at all!"
Olly wiped the blood smears from his face when he stopped. He bowed to the Princess. "...Princess, I-I'm s...so-orr..."
"You can just call me Peach. I'm your friend, remember? Friends don't need to be formal with each other."
"But I betrayed you." He knelt. "I don't deserve your kindness. And who says I won't do it again?"
"Because I can tell it's you this time." She gave him a gentle smile. "I can tell, because I got to meet the real you. You're way too mature for a twelve year-old!"
"You're twelve?" Junior gasped. "Wow, you've got trauma!"
Bowser elbowed him, signaling that now is not a good time for that.
Peach faced Olivia. "And you must be Olivia. Olly wouldn't stop talking about you. You're very pretty."
Olivia's face reddened. "Aww, thanks."
Sha faced Mario next, her face beaming. "Mario!"
"Peach!"
She jumped into his open arms, and he spun her in a singular circle.
"Oh thank you, Mario! I knew you'd come through for me!" She placed a kiss on his nose, his face reddening.
"W-well, it was-a mostly Olivia..." He put her down and pulled his hat over his face.
"Well, thank you too! Olivia." She curtied.
Olivia attempted to as well, but resorted to a bow instead. Peach walked into the town, and Bowser told Mario they had to head back to the castle to get it out of Shangri Spa.
"Oh, wait," Olly said, rising from the ground. "I wanted to go to one of the spas there but...it was VIP access only..."
"The Spring of Rainbows!" Olivia exclaimed.
"Um, yes. I heard that it would be able to restore my colors...but it's just wistful thinking."
"No, no! It actually works!"
"Does it...?"
"Yeah! We still have time before the festival, so let's go!" She grabbed his hand. "Yay! Spa time again! Maybe I'll get to soak in the Spring of Rainbows this time. Kemek pushed us all out last time so Junior could have it for himself..."
Olly looked at her hand, a sense of peace washing over him. "You'll really do that for me?"
"Of course! I love you, Olly, and I want you to be happy!"
Olly attempted a smile, receiving a giggle from his sister.
"You'll get it."
