AN: It's been awhile, in all honesty this would've been out faster but late July I just experienced burn out and writers block so I took a break for the entirety of August. With that out of the way, Hello and welcome back to Ultraman Gallant! I don't have much to say as I don't want to really spoil anything in the chapter, so enjoy!
Ultraman Gallant
Chapter 9: A Knight Scattered on Earth
Earth(Location Unknown)
The sound of a lighter opening could be heard as a man in a purple military suit lit a cigarette, he stood within a room filled with computers and monitors. An almost twisted version of the command centers the JSDF used themselves in their bases.
The man wore dark sunglasses as he watched various footage appearing on screen, videos of the various battles Ultraman Gallant had been in during his time on Earth. The man took a drag on his cigarette as the footage stopped, a clip playing of a human wearing a device on his wrist, raising it in the air and being enveloped in light.
The took another drag on his cigarette as he heard a scoff next to him, 'Disgusting isn't it? A human aiding that walking alien of destruction the people call Ultraman." The man turned towards the older man, wearing a black lab coat, a clear look of disgust on his face. The man nodded in agreement, "Have we managed to identify the human yet?"
A subordinate stationed at one of the computers nodded, "We hacked the JSDF database, his name is Takato Shinkishi, stationed in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo, his unit is composed of only 5 members."
The man nodded, "Should be easy to take him then. Tell me professor, will you be ready with your little replacement?" The man in the lab coat nodded, "As long as you can get that device off his wrist, it'll give me all the information I need to kill Ultraman." The man nodded, "It'll be done, just have whatever experiments you need ready for when he's brought in."
The man in the lab coat nodded as he left the command center, leaving the man alone to finish his cigarette. He tossed it on the ground and crushed it under his boot. He smirked to himself, soon that's what they would be doing to Ultraman, and the Earth would be free of that invaders tyranny.

JSDF Headquarters
Takato Shinkishi nodded absentmindedly to himself as he put another stroke of ink on the paper he was gazing at. The pen in his hand was moving fast as he was drawing his next masterpiece, or at least what he thought was a masterpiece.
Things had been quiet and the rest of his comrades were busy doing various jobs that he was taking the quiet time to draw and refine one of the few hobbies he couldn't do in his true form. As he kept going the door opened, he jumped as he heard someone stomping in, Reika came in, gazing around as he ignored her to go back to his drawing.
She seemed more annoyed than usual and he wasn't about to become her target by pointing it out. That didn't seem to work though as she seemed to be looking for conflict, turning towards him and scowling, "What the hell are you doing rookie?" Takato frowned and looked up, "Uh drawing, things were quiet so I thought I'd use the time to work on my drawing skills."
Reika narrowed her eyes at him, "You're the only one who considers it quiet time. Asuna is working on a new algorithm for the threat detection system, the Captain is working on a few request orders and even Tsubasa is working on getting some supplies for the Firehawk to be upgraded. So why are you the only one being useless?"
Takato wasn't sure what to say, "Uh I asked the Captain if he needed me to do anything and he said no until you got here to go on patrol." Reika glared at him, he could practically see a vein in her forehead popping, "So then you find something to do instead of just sitting there with your children's activities. Honestly rookie you've been here for 3 months and you're still so useless."
Upon hearing this something broke in him, the anxiety and doubts he'd had while being part of the royal knights bubbled to the surface, he wasn't a rookie. He'd been doing this since before the country existed. He dropped his pen, standing up, "Stop calling me a rookie! I think at this point I've earned at least the right to not be viewed as a rookie by you."
Reika scoffed at his comment, approaching him and getting in his face, "Don't make me laugh rookie, it took you 2 months to learn to hold your stinger correctly, and another month to actually know what you're doing. You're a rookie because you'll never be useful to me while on patrol, and Captain Kakuhiro seems to believe for some strange reason you're worthy of sticking around."
Takato didn't back down as he glared back at her, "If it wasn't for me you'd have died three months ago, I think that earned me a little respect." Reika scowled and pushed him to the side, picking up his drawing and ripping it up, "Think again rookie, now how about you go make yourself useful instead of this stupid hobby of yours."
Takato said nothing for a moment before turning and leaving the room, bumping his shoulder into Reika as he stormed out, trying not to say something he'd regret. Reika muttered under her breath and left the room as Tsubasa turned towards Captain Kakuhiro, "Uh Captain not that it wasn't fun watching Takato stand up to Reika but shouldn't you have interfered?"
Captain Kakuhiro shook his head, a sad look on his face, "Today isn't a day I tend to try and reason with her, she'll calm down tomorrow after the anniversary is done." Tsubasa raised an eyebrow, "Anniversary?"
Kakuhiro shook his head and sat back down at his desk, "It doesn't matter, let both of them cool off and we'll try contacting Takato in an hour to get him back here."
Tsubasa nodded reluctantly as he went back to what he was doing, noticing Asuna across the room engrossed in her current task and having ignored what had just happened. He sighed and went back to his computer, he supposed he would have to trust the captain on this one.

He let out a sigh as he finished his walk up the large hill, he was out of shape after all that down time. He wiped sweat from his forehead, "Boy am I glad to finally be out of the hospital. Taking a beam to the face really messed up my healing."
Daisuke began to approach the school, before he could open it though it swung open and all the children came running out, "DAISUKE!" They swarmed him, each taking turns trying to give him hugs as he tried to say hello to them, "Hey everyone! I didn't think you'd miss me that much."
The kids nodded as one of the older ones pointed at the door, " missed you a lot too." As they said that, their teacher emerged from the school, a small smile on her face and arms crossed, "Well look who's finally out of the hospital." Daisuke nodded and smiled, "Sorry I would've been out sooner but Takato didn't want me leaving and injuring myself further."
Yuki smiled, "He's a good friend like that, now hopefully you've learned your lesson about running into an area where three Ultramen are fighting." Daisuke shrugged, "I wanted to help evacuate the area, I can't stand anyone dying when I could've saved them."
Yuki giggled, "You sound like my uncle, now come on, there's lots for you to help out with now that you're back." Daisuke nodded as he followed her inside, the hospital had been a bit lonely without much contact from people. He enjoyed being around humans, they were confusing creatures but he truly believed that deep down there was nothing bad about them.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
He walked down the streets of Tokyo, he hadn't intended for things to get so heated, but Reika seemed to be more angry than usual. Takato frowned as he noticed something out of the corner of his eye, the same four people had been following him for a while. He didn't turn around, there were too many people around and he didn't want to risk anything if they were dangerous. He turned down an alleyway, the same group following him as he stopped in the alleyway.
He turned towards them, a hand on his stinger as he glared at them, "Any reason you've all been following me for the past half hour?" They all removed their own weapons from the holsters, "We represent Mortem Ad Giant Lucem, come with us quietly or not, your choice traitor."
Takato frowned, "And what did I betray exactly?" They stepped towards him, "Humanity!" Before he could say anything further they ran at him, Takato blocking a punch from one of them and kicked another away, throwing the one he blocked at another.
He was confused but he wasn't about to lose in a fight to them. He punched another into the wall as another went to try and grab him, elbowing that one as he kept up his fighting stance, "You aren't going to beat me so just give it up." As he prepared to continue the fight he felt something hit him from behind, feeling weak he reached towards the back of his neck, pulling a dart out from his neck.
He fell to his knees as he heard one of his attackers laugh, "You foolish traitor, we were merely a distraction while one of us could shoot you with a tranquilizer dart." Takato struggled to stand, trying to punch one of them again but falling to the ground.
The one who shot him from behind approached him, kicking him in the gut, "Don't try to fight it, that's a special dose just for you." Takato fought the desire to fall asleep, not being able to as darkness began to envelop him.
As he could register them picking him up by the arms and legs he heard them faintly speaking, "This is what you get traitor, your reward for working with Ultraman." Takato finally passed out, unsure of where he would wake up in the future.

1500 Years Ago
Ultraman Vee quickly ran towards the center of their base, he was eager to get started with his day. As he ran, he nearly bumped into Gallant who sighed, "Yo Vee where's the fire?" Vee chuckled, "Sorry Gallant, Master Magna is taking me on a mission today, we haven't gone on a mission together in awhile."
Gallant nodded, "Well have fun I guess, try not to make too much trouble for Sir Magna." Vee waved him off as ran towards the meeting spot with his mentor. As he arrived he stopped to catch his breath as the blue and silver Ultra turned towards him, his gold armor glittering as he crossed his arms, "You know for someone so fast you do have a habit of being late Vee."
Vee nodded and saluted him, "I apologize Master, Jes challenged me to a race this morning and we got a bit carried away, he wouldn't stop until Sir Ganko reigned him in." Magna let out a sigh, "You really must stop accepting every challenge to a race that our comrades bring up to you, you're already the fastest, no need to continue to prove it."
Vee nodded, his master was one of the older among them, so he didn't always understand the contests amongst the younger members. Wise and courageous ,Magna was much more stern to him than Sir Omega was towards Gallant, but Magna still made sure to give his student support in his own ways.
Vee approached his Master and looked at him, "So what's the mission? It's rare that you and I go on missions now since you said I'm ready to be by myself." Magna crossed his arms, "This one comes from his majesty himself, there's a planet that's been affected by a few invasions from other planets and he wants us to go help the people and let them know the land of light is in their corner."
Vee cocked his head to the side, "So a diplomatic mission?" Magna nodded, "In a sense, his majesty wanted us on this as the Father of Ultra and the Ultra Brothers have their attention elsewhere right now." Vee gave him a thumbs up, "Well his majesty can count on us!"
Magna sighed, "Let's just be off shall we, when we get back I think you need a few sparring sessions as punishment for being late." Vee gulped but nodded as the two took off in their travel spheres, heading towards the planet mentioned by Ultraman King. It didn't take long for them to arrive with a travel sphere, the two landing outside what appeared to be the largest town on the planet.
The two shrunk themselves down in order to better speak with the people of the planet, as they arrived a crowd of people watched them closely. One of the beings approached them as Magna raised a hand in peace, "Greetings, we come from the Land of Light, offering any kind of support we can for your people as we've heard of your plights befalling your home."
Much to their surprise the leader pointed a spear at them, anger in his eyes, "We know who you are, leave our planet now before you attract more invaders!" Vee stepped forward in confusion, Magna trying to stop him but the younger Ultra walked forward, "But sir this is our first time visiting here, why are you angry at us?"
The leader threw the spear at him, Vee catching it as the leader glared at them, "Because we were invaded by other species who wanted more power to go to war with your people. We were attacked because of the Land of Light existing close to us, so we will be damned if we allow your people to help us when all they do is cause destruction, intentional or unintentional."
Vee was about to speak but Magna put a hand on his shoulder, "Let's go Vee, they don't want our help and we can't force them to ally with us." Vee shook his head, "No, we can still help them, all we need to do is show that we aren't like those other species and they'll be able to see that what we do is help the galaxy."
Magna sighed, his pupil was dangerously naive at times, turning towards the leader he pushed Vee forward, "My student is stubborn, please just allow him a month or so to try and helping your people, if you don't like him by the end of it then he'll leave without a fight." The leader glared at Magna before frowning, "Very well but he will do everything we ask and no protest in the slightest."
Magna nodded, "It's a deal, have fun Vee." Vee turned around and watched as Magna began to leave, "Wait Master you're going to leave?" Magna nodded, "You're the one who's insistent on helping a planet that doesn't want help, not me. I have other duties to attend to, besides this will be a good learning opportunity for you."
He flew off, leaving Vee by himself. Vee began to approach the leader of the town, he'd prove his master wrong. After all they just wanted to help, what was destructive about that?

Present Day
Captain Kakuhiro crossed his arms as he turned towards Asuna, "Asuna try raising Takato on his communicator again." Asuna nodded and pressed a button on her communicator, calling Takato but nothing came as it was simply static.
Asuna shook her head as Kakuhiro frowned, Tsubasa standing up from his desk, "Captain something had to have happened, it's been 6 hours, he would've come back by now or at least contacted us." Reika scowled from her seat, "As much as I hate to admit it, the crybaby probably would've been back by now."
Kakuhiro sighed, "Asuna run a search through the surveillance cameras we have around the city, something feels off." Asuna nodded, her fingers typing at the keyboard as video footage began to cycle on the command center's larger screen, "I'm having the system run through the last known time Takato was spotted by any of the cameras…. There, 5 hours ago."
They watched the footage, Takato turning down an alleyway, getting attacked by the group and being taken by them. Reika stood up and crossed her arms, "Why would they take the rookie?" Kakuhiro watched the footage before pausing for a moment, "Wait those uniforms, they're from Mortem Ad Giant Lucem."
Tsubasa raised an eyebrow, "Mortem Ad Giant Lucem? What's that? Some weird cult?" Kakuhiro shook his head, "They're a group that sprung up about 15 years ago, they've gained a bit of standing in the country due to wealthy sponsors. They hate the JSDF due to us being supporters of aliens and peace between planets, with all the recent activity they must've finally decided to start conflict with us directly."
Reika turned towards the captain, "By why kidnap the rookie? He's not particularly remarkable." Kakuhiro frowned and shrugged, "I could only wager a guess, they may want information and they just took the first JSDF member they saw."
Tsubasa frowned, his mind was racing with thoughts, maybe it wasn't random. What if they took him because they hate aliens and Takato is Ultraman? It wasn't out of the question but he couldn't exactly put forth his theory, he couldn't expose Takato like that.
Tsubasa crossed his arms, "Captain we need to rescue him, we should leave immediately to begin the search." Asuna shook her head, "We'd have no idea where he could be though, as much of a nice idea as it is." Kakuhiro frowned, "Tsubasa! For now go and get Takato's friend Daisuke, we need an extra set of hands with Takato gone and from Takato has said he'd been perfect for the job. For the time being Asuna, Reika and I will try to find some leads for you to investigate once you get Daisuke."
Tsubasa stood up and saluted, "Yes sir I'm on it!" As he was about to head out the door he was stopped by Reika, "Captain I'm going too, the rookie was out there because of our argument, I owe it to him to rescue him."
Captain Kakuhiro nodded as the two left the room, he sighed as he took off his glasses, it was nice to know despite what day it was that Reika could still feel some guilt in her involvement in this. Still he knew who the true target of Mortem Ad Giant Lucem's hatred was, and he couldn't help but hope that Takato would be alright wherever he was.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
He felt confused as he slowly began to open his eyes, he was restrained and he could tell that much. As he opened his eyes he was blinded by a large lamp being pointed at him, whoever was holding him hostage certainly didn't want to take any risks.
He noticed there were numerous wires attached to him, they were no doubt scanning him. The last thing he remembered were those people attacking him and tranquilizing him from behind, what were they called? Mortem Ad Giant Lucem? His languages were rusty but he was pretty sure it was latin.
He looked to the side to see the Gallant Spark attached to a device, no doubt being tested like he was. He wanted to simply break his restraints and transform through willpower but whatever they knocked him out with must've still been in his system, making him weak. The light went off though as he found he was restrained against the wall in a jail cell, a man in a military suit appearing behind the bars. He scowled at Takato, "Finally awake traitor?"
Takato frowned, "You keep calling me traitor but I still have no idea what I really did, who even are you people?" The man chuckled and lit a cigarette, blowing the smoke into the cell, "We're Mortem Ad Giant Lucem, a group that was formed about 15 years ago when the original Ultraman appeared on Earth. What others saw as a hero, we saw as a threat and we've been preparing ever since for the bastard to come back. But much to our surprise when a few months ago a new one appeared, the one they called Gallant, then of course the blue one, Vee, and worst the one that actually is the biggest threat, steamrolling over the other two. There's three of them here now and all they'll do is bring pain and destruction to Earth, we intend to stop that."
Takato sighed, of course they hated him, there were always the few humans who didn't trust Ultraman, "Ok but you still didn't explain why I'm here."
The man tapped his cigarette, the ash falling to the ground, "Don't play dumb with us Takato Shinkishi, we've seen the footage, you aid Ultraman by summoning him when the situation gets dire enough. You're a traitor to humanity and once we figure out your device and get what we want out of you, we'll eliminate you. Then we here at the MAGL and myself, its leader, Yoshio Takada will become the new protectors of the Earth."
Takato frowned, "You think I summoned Gallant? I am Ultraman Gallant, Ultra's can take human form, so trust me when I say this, I'm here to help the Earth, not destroy it." Realization hit Takada's face, horror in his eyes as the news hit him, "Wait? You can take human forms? How many more of you could there be? Do you realize how much more of a threat this makes you?"
Takato shook his head, "I told you I'm not a threat, Vee and myself are here to stop the other Ultraman and then leave, work with us and we can leave the Earth faster, we don't have to be enemies." Takada dropped his cigarette to the ground and put it out with his boot, "You're naive if you think I'll believe that, soon Gallant you'll leave Earth anyway, as once we have what we want then you'll be dead."
He turned around to leave, Takato letting out a sigh of disappointment, he had to suppose there were always going to be some stubborn humans. In the corner of the room a camera blinked, the watcher on the other side watching, a chuckle coming from him, "Soon we shall have no need of Ultraman."
He turned towards a large window, a large looming shadow staring back at him as he smiled, yes soon they'd have all the power they'd need to save the Earth from Ultraman.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
1500 Years Ago
He had been on the alien planet for a few days, and they hadn't let him help with one single thing. Vee was getting bored but he was trying to do as they asked and not stepping out of line. As he gazed around the town, he saw one of the aliens carrying multiple boxes, walking over to him he reached his arms out, "Here let me help you."
The alien shook his head quickly, "Oh no I don't need any help, I'm fine on my own." Vee chuckled and grabbed the boxes from his arms, "Nonsense, I'm pretty fast so I can get these delivered fast." Before the alien could protest, he was off, speeding his way through the town and delivering each box to where they needed to go. He returned to the alien, dusting off his hands, "See, now you have some time to get other stuff done."
The alien sighed and pointed at the trail Vee had left, 'You think so huh?" Vee looked in shock as the boxes he delivered were smoking and catching fire, several citizens yelling at him for their damaged goods. The alien glared at him, "You idiot, speed does nothing if your goods catch fire."
Vee bowed before him, "I'm so sorry, please forgive me!" The alien scowled at him, "Get away from me!" Vee nodded and quickly walked away, walking towards the edge of town until he found himself near the farmland, seeing the farmers looking around in concern. He approached them and waved, "Hey is everything ok here?"
The older alien frowned and narrowed his eyes at him, "Oh it's you, leave us alone outsider." His wife nudged him in the side, "Now dear, he's just here to offer his help, he might be able to solve our problem." The husband sighed, "Fine, if you must know the stream we get our water from has been blocked by multiple rocks and refuse to budge no matter how much we try to move them." Vee nodded, "Is that it? I can get rid of those with one beam."
Vee walked towards where the rocks were, the husband trying to stop him, "Maybe something a bit more deli…" He couldn't finish his sentence as Vee fired his beam, having it collide with the rocks as they exploded and scattered everywhere, the water returning but the rock debris falling onto the farm, hitting several crops.
The husband grit his teeth, "Delicate, you need to be delicate not just blow it up you bastard!" Vee chuckled nervously, "I can clean this up I swear." Shockingly it was the wife who yelled at him, "Oh would you just leave!" Vee nodded and quickly ran off, running back into the town.
He had to stop himself as he ran into the leader who was clearly unhappy, "You! Didn't I tell you not to do anything unless I told you to." Vee nodded slowly, "Well I saw some people in trouble and I just had to help." The leader crossed his arms, "You destroyed all of the courier's packages and just caused some kind of explosion over at the farms, you're lucky I actually need something."
Vee nodded, "Of course whatever it is, I'll do it." The leader sighed, "Listen, we usually send some of our creatures out to hunt for us, but they haven't come back in awhile, can you go see if something might've happened to them." Vee nodded slowly, "You know while I was exploring around your village I did some rather mean looking creatures, maybe they did something to your hunting pack."
The leader raised an eyebrow, "Mean looking creatures? Did they have large teeth, claws, shaggy purple fur and bright yellow eyes?" Vee nodded, "Mhmm, don't worry they started snarling at me so I took care of them." The leader saw red as his eyes narrowed at Vee, grabbing his spear from his back, "YOU IMBECILE THAT WAS OUR HUNTING PACK!"
Vee took a step back, "Wait I didn't know, they were snarling at me so I thought they might be trying to hurt the town." The leader nodded, "Yes because they didn't know who you are and there's been nothing but invasions here. That's It I'm done, leave, you promised you would if we didn't want you here."
Vee held his hands up in peace, "Wait please you just have to give me more time, I swear my people aren't what you think." The leader scowled and stuck his spear at his throat, "LEAVE!"
Seeing no other choice, Vee bent down and pushed off, flying up in the air and fast as he could. He let out a sigh as he flew away from the town, he just didn't get it, how could a planet not want the land of lights help? He needed to find Master Magna, maybe he knew something he didn't.

Present Day
Daisuke let out a sigh as Reika and Tsubasa stood before him, crossing his arms, "I appreciate you telling me, but I'm not sure why your captain would ask for my help to save Takato."
Tsubasa shrugged, "He said we needed an extra pair of hands and the captain is convinced that you'd be perfect since Takato talked you up." Before he could say anything Yuki walked outside, waving at Daisuke, "Hey Daisuke it's snack time, come help me out."
Daisuke looked over at her awkwardly before Tsubasa winked at him, "Hey Reika could you go help Yuki? I'll convince Daisuke to help us out." Reika scowled but ended up nodding, "Fine, but next time I have monitor duty you're taking over for me."
She walked towards Yuki and followed her back inside as Daisuke looked at Tsubasa, "So why was Takato really kidnapped? Because the excuse of him being a member of your organization is a little silly." Tsubasa sighed, "You and I have never really had a chance to talk but I won't beat around the bust, I'm pretty sure they figured out Takato is connected to Ultraman Gallant, but thankfully they just think he helps Gallant, not that he is Gallant."
Daisuke raised an eyebrow, "Why would they take him for being connected to Ultraman?" Tsubasa shook his head, "The group was founded about 15 years ago after the first Ultraman showed up, they wanted to destroy any Ultraman." Daisuke felt his hand curl into a fist as anger began to bubble to the surface, "Why the hell would humans ever want to get rid of Ultraman? We only want to help humanity!"
Tsubasa frowned, "Look I don't really know, the guy from 15 years ago, he caused some damage sure but he saved the planet multiple times. I'd love to ask him, but according to Takato he's not even sure who that guy was, so that's just a big fat mystery."
Daisuke sighed, "Yeah Yuki showed me some footage of him, whoever he was, he's not a member of the royal knights or the defense force." Tsubasa put a hand on his shoulder, "Look I don't really know their motives, but I can guarantee you that they're probably just crazy. I've seen what you and Takato have done for the city, you aren't evil destroyers or anything. Though that other one definitely is."
Daisuke was about to respond when they heard the crunch of the dirt behind him, a slightly annoyed Reika coming back towards them, "Did you convince him yet? Because Asuna just contacted me and she might've found a lead on where to find the rookie's location." Daisuke nodded, "Takato is my best friend, I can't guarantee I'll be much help but I'll do what I can."
Tsubasa smiled and clapped him on the back, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go find Taka!" Reika glared at him and shook her head, "Not a chance, we got our substitute for the rookie, now you can go back to base." Tsubasa frowned, "Aww come on Reika, I want to help find him too."
Reika shook her head, "If a monster attacks the city while we're searching for him we need you on standby with the Firehawk, you're our only pilot right now." Tsubasa thought for a minute before nodding, "Fine, but I'm disappointed that I'm missing out on working with Daisuke."
Daisuke smiled at him and followed Reika towards their car, "Next time, Takato keeps saying you and I could have a lot of fun together." Tsubasa nodded with glee, Reika groaning, "You two better not annoy me before we drop the fly boy back at base or I'm making you both walk." They got into the car, taking off, worrying filling Daisuke's mind as he could only hope his best friend was ok.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
The two arrived at the building they'd been directed to, having dropped off Tsubasa and promised Captain Kakuhiro they wouldn't do anything to get the JSDF in trouble. As they exited the car Reika tossed something to Daisuke, who fumbled to catch it, "Since you're not trained with it I suggest only using it as an absolute last resort."
Daisuke looked down at the weapon she threw at him, simply putting it into his pocket and shaking his head, "I appreciate it but I don't think I'll need it, I can handle myself just fine with my fists." Reika shrugged and frowned, "Suit yourself, now come on let's get in there and find the rookie."
Daisuke watched her walking briskly towards the building, probably not even realizing how fast she was going, "Whoa whoa whoa, we can't just charge in there, do you even have a plan?" Reika looked at him in confusion, "Plan? My plan is to go in there, demand to know where they're holding the rookie and if they don't give us anything I'll do what needs to be done. This became a war the minute this idiotic group kidnapped him."
Daisuke sighed, "You seem awfully determined to rescue him when you can't even call him by his name." Reika scowled and stopped in her tracks, "It's because it's my fault." Daisuke raised an eyebrow, "What's your fault?"
Reika gripped her stinger, holding it tighter as memories of the argument played in her head, "It's my fault he was out there alone and unprepared. Today isn't a good day for me, it's the anniversary of the day my father died because of a battle between Ultraman and a kaiju so I was feeling extra annoyed, and the rookie and I argued over me not even being able to call him by his name. He left the command center because of me and my attitude, so I blame myself."
Daisuke frowned, "Reika it isn't your fault, sure you shouldn't take your grief out on him, but you couldn't have known they'd pick today to make their move." Reika shook her head, "It's not just that, I'm always badmouthing Ultraman, both of them and the rookie always ends up defending both of them, I just feel like maybe if they'd been watching us it's my fault they figured he's the most vocal defender of them. Plus who knows, if I didn't have Captain Kakuhiro watching over me growing up then I could've ended up joining this group."
Daisuke put a hand on her shoulder, giving her a small smile, "Listen, I get it, you said it yourself, your dad died in a battle between Ultraman and a kaiju. That's a perfectly valid reason to not be a fan of his, but your talks with Takato on whether Ultraman is good or not didn't cause this."
Reika went silent for a moment before nodding, "Alright fine, now enough with this mushy shit, let's just get this done." Daisuke nodded, "I'll follow your lead." The two walked into the building, what seemed to be a normal lobby that any organization may have, complete with a welcome desk with a lone secretary working behind it.
Reika approached the desk, flanked by Daisuke as the secretary looked up from her computer, "Well hello, it's not every day a member of the JSDF visits us. How can Mortem Ad Giant Lucem help you today?"
Reika grimaced at her and slammed her hand down on the desk, "How about you cut the crap, some of your members took one of my comrades so how about you tell them to release him and we'll leave quietly." The secretary looked at her in confusion, "I'm sorry I have no idea what you're talking about, we here at the MAGL don't kidnap people."
Reika scoffed and began to walk past the desk, "Right, then I guess we'll do this the hard way, I suppose we'll just go ask some of your bosses then if they know where he is." The secretary stood up and tried to stop her, "Wait please, you can't go past the welcome desk."
Daisuke began to follow Reika but stopped and put a hand on the desk, "You seem nice so I'd really suggest getting out of here, she's in a bit of a bad mood and is probably going to start hurting people." The secretary nodded slowly as Daisuke went after Reika, finding themselves heading towards a hallway leading to several rooms as Reika walked on, "It's not a big building so one of these rooms has to have answers."
Daisuke frowned as he followed, hearing footsteps rapidly approaching them, "Uh Reika, we got some people coming that don't seem happy to see us." Reika smiled as she turned towards the several security guards running towards them, "You're trespassing in a private area, leave now or we'll use force."
Reika let out a small chuckle, "Oh please use force, I've been wanting to hit something all day." The guards all removed batons from their belts, running at the two as Daisuke sighed, Reika certainly wasn't listening to the captain. Reika charged at one of the guards, ducking underneath the baton and kicking at one of the guards knees, causing him to drop to his other knee in pain, before Reika went for a right hook, connecting with his face and sending him to the ground, rolling in pain.
Daisuke simply walked towards two of them, catching on their batons and easily ripping it from his hands, hitting him across the side and sending him to the ground, before swinging at the other guard, hitting him so hard the baton broke against his neck. He frowned, he probably used too much force but he'd been bedridden for awhile he forgot to keep his strength in check. Reika had just finished taking another guard, making sure he was knocked out that she barely noticed one more charging at her.
Seeing him, Daisuke frowned and removed the stinger from his pocket, "DUCK!" Reika looked back at Daisuke and finally noticed the guard charging at her. She ducked as Daisuke aimed and pulled the trigger, getting a lucky shot and hitting him in the chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. Reika nodded at him, rising back to her full height, "I probably could have taken him, but thanks I guess."
Daisuke sighed and pointed towards the rooms, "Let's just start searching before more of them arrive." Reika nodded, the two approaching two doors, "You take right, I'll take the left, shout if you encounter anything." Daisuke nodded as she kicked in the door she was going through, sweat dropping as he realized they were unlocked, she was just being aggressive to even the door. As he entered the room he found some conference tables and chairs, unfortunately nothing that could tell them where Takato may have been.
Daisuke frowned and began to exit the room before he heard a laugh behind him, "You aren't going to find anything in this building that'll lead you to Gallant, this pitiful group is at least smart enough to not leave a trail." Daisuke turned around, his eyes narrowing, "Ranbu! Why are you here?" Ultraman Ranbu chuckled as he took a step forward, Daisuke raising the stinger against him, "I just thought I would help you, I know where Gallant is being held after all."
Daisuke put his finger on the trigger, ready to pull it if the mad Ultra took a step closer, "And I should trust you why?" Ranbu chuckled again, "Because if you don't then you won't find your friend and they'll kill him eventually." Daisuke frowned, his hand shaking as the thought of his best friend being killed filled his head, "Why would you even help me? You want both of us dead."
Ranbu took another step towards him, confident he wouldn't pull the trigger, "Two reasons, one because I want you two to truly understand the hatred that humanity is capable of. The other reason is because I've developed an interest in Gallant, and I won't allow him to die until I find out more about who he is." Daisuke let out a long sigh, "As much as I hate this, fine, Takato's life is more important than fighting you right now. But just know I won't let you get to him even if it kills me."
Ranbu let out a loud laugh, "Oh my dear boy, you wouldn't be able to stop me anyway the day I decide to get serious with the two of you." Daisuke scowled as he threw a piece of paper at him, Daisuke catching it and seeing a set of coordinates written on it. Before he could question if it was even legitimate, Ranbu had disappeared, leaving him with a pit in his stomach.
Daisuke exited the room, finding Reika coming out of the room, "I got the location, or at least I think I did." Reika nodded, "Good because I didn't find anything." Daisuke frowned, "I'm not sure where these coordinates lead but it's our best bet."
Reika took the piece of paper and began to type the coordinates into her communicator, "According to this, it's a location outside of the city, apparently there's a massive facility there owned by a private group." Daisuke smiled slightly, "That certainly sounds like our new friends then." Reika nodded slowly, "Let's not waste time then, I'll contact the Captain on our way in case he wants to send us back up."
The two began to make their way quickly out the building, they needed to hurry. It was a race against time and at least one of the staff in this place would warn their other facility eventually. It didn't matter though, they had a friend to rescue.

1500 Years Ago
It took him a few days but Vee had finally found his master, seemingly on another planet as he had been finishing up what looks like a recent battle. Magna looked at Vee land and nodded at him, "You're back, how did things go?" Vee sighed, "No matter how hard I tried they didn't accept any of my help and only got angry at everything I did."
Magna crossed his arms and nodded, "Yes I knew that would happen, it's why I left you there to figure that out yourself." Vee looked at him in confusion, "If you knew it'd be such a waste of time then why did you let me waste my time there?"
Magna let out a small chuckle, "Because it was a lesson that I thought you needed to learn. Vee even with all our power, we can't help everyone, as some don't want our help. So because of that we need to focus on those who will accept our help. It's unfortunate but it's an important lesson to remember."
Vee shook his head, "No, no I don't believe that for a second. Our people have been lucky enough to have great power, it's our duty to use that power to help everyone, even if they don't want it or not."
Magna let out a sigh, "Vee, if both of us stayed on that planet, trying to convince a race that wouldn't change their mind then this planet would've been doomed to be destroyed by a bunch of would be conquerors. It's about choices, I let you do this, but because I knew it would allow me to save this planet." Vee said nothing for a moment before looking at his master, "You're wrong, that wasn't a waste of time, I still helped them even if they can't see it."
Magna shook his head, approached his student and put a hand on his shoulder, "Vee, you have to accept that there are those who cannot be saved, because they refuse to save themselves. We must accept that we cannot change their minds, and instead save those who want to be saved."
Vee shook his hand off and walked away from him, "Then I'll change it, I'll change the whole universe if I have to. I'll create a future where we can save everyone, even convince those who don't want to be saved to let us help them."
He was expecting his master to criticize his proclamation but instead Magna simply nodded at him, "Then get stronger Vee, so you can protect the future you desire." Vee could have sworn there was a hint of pride in his voice as he flew off, it didn't matter though, he would create that future where everyone could be saved.

Present Day
As the car rolled up to their destination, the two got out of the car as Reika unholstered her stinger, "Yup this place definitely seems like a place an organization that wanted to destroy a heroic alien would be." Daisuke frowned, "They don't seem to be ready for us, maybe we should wait for backup like Kakuhiro told us."
Reika gave him a small smile, "You and I both know we don't want to wait for them." Daisuke sighed and nodded, "Yeah I'm not feeling too patient either, let's go get Takato!" Reika nodded as the two walked towards the entrance, Daisuke looking at the entrance confused, "There's no guards, were they really not expecting us to find this place?"
As he said that the large doors to the base opened, revealing a large group of guards waiting for them. Reika scowled as she held up her stinger, "You just had to say something, you and the rookie have horrible luck you know that?" Daisuke frowned and nodded, the guards charging at them as they proceeded to begin fighting through them. It didn't take them long to get through the guards and get inside the base, Daisuke incapacitating one more guard as they came to a fork in the base.
Reika punched the wall in annoyance, "What is with these people and their love of two different ways to go." Daisuke shrugged, "You go right, I'll go left, whoever finds Takato first can just contact the other." Reika nodded, "Fine, but if you find the leader of this stupid place do me a favor and punch him in the nose for me." Daisuke nodded as the two split up, it was probably better that way, less chance for her to discover any of their secrets.
As fought through several more guards, he finally broke through a set of larger doors, coming into what appeared to be a command center. Seeing as no one was in it, he approached one of the computers, figuring it could at least maybe tell him where Takato was being kept.
As he typed away at the computer though he found something much worse, records, videos and other data of not just Ultraman, but any humans or aliens who may have come in contact with Ultraman. They wanted to find out any information they could about him and Takato, he wanted their weaknesses and what fueled their powers. Daisuke's hand curled into a fist as he looked at the research, anger boiling over as he realized the ones captured never survived.
He grew disheartened as there was just more and more data, he didn't have time to look at it all though as he heard footsteps approaching him. He swung around coming face to face with a man smoking a cigarette, "I take it you're one of our intruders?" Daisuke pointed the stinger at him, wanting nothing more than to knock him out but that wouldn't give him answers, "Who the hell are you?"
The man let out a puff of smoke, "Yoshio Takada, leader of our fine institution at your service. I'm curious, are you the other one? What did the JSDF name him? Vee?" Daisuke narrowed his eyes at him, "And if I am?" Takada took another drag and scowled, "Then that makes our goals easier, now if you'd be so kind to get in a cell with your friend that would make things so much easier."
Daisuke scoffed at him, "Get bent you monster, why the hell would you or your people try to stop us? We're helping the earth." Takada let out a low chuckle, "Are you monsters really helping the Earth? Sure you beat the kaiju but you never pay attention to any of the collateral damage you cause, the lives you ruin!" Daisuke grit his teeth, "That's awfully hypocritical of you, I saw the data on that computer, all those people died just in your endeavor to eliminate us when we're just here to help."
Takada shook his head, "Those were necessary sacrifices to our greater goal. 15 years ago we realized that you Ultramen are dangerous, you destroy everything and claim you're the heroes, you don't deserve the godlike powers you have." Daisuke scowled, "And let me guess, you think you do?" Takada nodded, "Humanity should be the ones defending Earth, not aliens. Soon we'll have the power ourselves and we'll usher a new future, a future that's dominated by humanity, by us!"
Daisuke looked at him in astonishment, "That's what this is about? You aren't looking to save the Earth, you just want power to take over the Earth." Takada said nothing as the two heard a laugh, Ranbu appearing from behind Takada, "Do you see now Vee? Humanity isn't as good natured as you and Gallant claim."
Daisuke frowned, pointing his stinger at Ranbu, "Ranbu! I should've known you'd show up after giving me the location for this place." Takada tried to turn around, "You're the other one, the one that made the other two look like toddlers in comparison."
Ranbu grabbed him by the back of the neck and made a shush sign with his finger, "Now now human, the greater beings are talking. This is what I wanted you two to see, humanity's true nature! They're selfish, greedy and power hungry! They don't do anything from the goodness in their hearts, no only to gain something from it." Daisuke shook his head, "You're wrong, one bad group doesn't speak for the rest of the planet."
Ranbu chuckled and began to squeeze the back of Takada's neck, "Go on human, admit why you really hate Ultraman." Takada struggled in his grip before finally choking out, "Ultraman can't be controlled, they have seemingly infinite power and humanity will never have that, when that's all we want."
Ranbu laughed again as there was a crunching noise, Yoshio Takada falling to the ground dead as Daisuke looked on, "See, they only want power for themselves, you call me evil but If you ask me humanity isn't much better."
Daisuke shook his head again, his stinger still pointed at Ranbu, "You're wrong Ranbu, I'm not about to become corrupted just because you think you told me so." Ranbu sighed and shrugged, "Very well then, I suggest you go to the main lab then, there's one more thing for you to see. Until then, tata."
He disappeared into darkness, leaving Daisuke with the corpse of Takada. Daisuke sighed and regained his composure, as much as he hated it, he needed to get to the lab just to see whatever Ranbu was talking about.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Reika was getting annoyed, she kept going through multiple guards and felt like she wasn't getting anywhere. As she continued down the long corridor she finally came to a doorway, hearing screaming on the other side.
Kicking at it, she burst in to see Takato strapped down on a table, being shocked with electricity. Reika pulled the trigger on her stinger, hitting the scientists torturing him as the electricity stopped. Reika didn't waste time, running over to the table, trying to get the restraints off, "Are you ok Rookie? Can you walk?" Takato seemed to stir, "Reika? What are you doing here?"
Reika frowned as she helped him sit up, "I'm having a tea party, what do you think I'm doing here?" Takato seemed to recover quickly as he nodded, "Right stupid question, how did you get through the guards?" Reika watched him stand up and handed him his stinger, "I came with your friend, he's somewhere in the building looking for you."
Takato looked at her in confusion, "Daisuke? Dammit we need to find him." Reika shook her head, "Relax, I just sent him a message that I found you, now we need to get out of here and call for backup." Takato watched as she turned around, silently summoning the Gallant Spark back to himself before she noticed, "You can go, I'm going to find Daisuke." Reika's hand curled into a fist as she approached him, 'Rookie I can't let you do that."
Takato frowned, "I'll be fine, I'm not as much of a rookie as you think." Reika frowned, "I.. Listen Takato, I'm sorry about that argument earlier, it's the anniversary of when my Dad died and I was just extra angry today, but I shouldn't have taken my grief out on you."
Takato gave her a small smile, "You shouldn't apologize for grieving, but you shouldn't keep it inside until you explode, you can talk to us, it's what friends are for." Reika sighed and nodded, "Alright fine, I'll try to use my words next time before I explode on someone, besides Tsubasa, I make no promises for him."
Takato nodded, "I'll take it, now get out of here, I'll go find Daisuke." Reika watched him walk the other from where she had come in, "I'm going too, you're injured so you'll need backup." Takato wanted to protest, as having her with him would make things more difficult but he knew she wouldn't give up. He sighed and nodded, "Fine, let's go."
As they began to walk, the building began to rumble, "What the hell is that?" Noticing the walls beginning to crack, Takato pushed her away from him, the wall between them coming crashing down and separating them. Takato frowned, "Reika are you ok?" Reika got up and dusted herself off, "Yeah I'm fine but I can't get to you now." Takato smiled slightly, sometimes things worked out in his favor, "I'll try to find a way around, you get out of here and call for reinforcements.
Whatever is causing the building to shake can't be good." Reika started to protest but she heard his footsteps running away from her, of course he wouldn't listen, the one time he was a hot head was after being captured. Deciding to trust him, Reika turned back to the way she came, it was time to call for backup.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Takato was running through the building, he wasn't sure where Daisuke could be but he figured he'd encounter him eventually. As he started to get near what signs on the walls said to be the main lab, something ran into him, nearly knocking him to the ground. Takato reached for his stinger but his eyes went wide, "DAISUKE!"
Daisuke brushed himself off before realizing who he'd bumped into, "TAKATO! Oh thank the Mother of Ultra you're ok." Takato nodded, "Reika got me out of where they were keeping me, now I was looking for you." Daisuke frowned, "I was heading to the main lab, I was told that there was something we should both see there."
Takato raised an eyebrow, "Told by who?" Daisuke narrowed his eyes as he talked, "Ranbu, he's been helping me for some reason, partially because he said he's interested in you, and because he wanted us to see why we should hate humanity like he does." Takato frowned, "This can't be good if Ranbu is involved, but we can't give him what he wants, one bad group shouldn't condemn humanity."
Daisuke nodded in agreement, "Come on, let's at least see what's going on in this lab, it's causing the whole place to shake." The two entered through the doors, finding the lab nearly destroyed save for an elderly scientist who sat in a chair, a wire connected to him and a machine. He smiled as the two entered, "I was wondering when you two pretenders would arrive."
Takato scowled, "How are we pretenders?" The man chuckled as the machine beeped, "You monsters masquerading as humans, it's disgusting, but it doesn't matter, soon you'll be dead." Daisuke frowned as he noticed a large bloody mark on his chest, "So will you if you don't let us help you, we can argue later about who the monsters are, for now we can get you medical attention and you can answer for all of this." The man shook his head, "I'm almost impressed you'd still be willing to save me, but it matters not, this machine will kill me anyway, finally giving us the power of Ultraman."
Takato took a step forward, "What are you talking about?" The man pointed towards the window, lights coming on to reveal a mechanical face, appearing similar to Gallant's, "My greatest creation, born from 15 years of researching Ultraman. All it needed was human lifeforce to truly bring it to life, and that lifeforce will come directly for me."
Daisuke frowned, "Is trying to stop the two of us who are helping humanity really worth your life?" The man went silent for a moment before nodding, "Once upon a time, I was a different man. A normal scientist named Koji Suzuki, I had a wife and kids. But 15 years ago they were all killed because one of you failed to stop a Kaiju in time from destroying our town. Ever since then I vowed I would create something equal to Ultraman, a superior Ultraman that would kill Ultraman. Now it's finished and my desire for revenge shall come to an end."
Takato felt a pit in his chest, this is what Reika could've been if not for the people around her. Takato frowned, "I'm sorry but in your desire for revenge you've hurt people just like the kaiju who killed your family." Professor Suzuki frowned, "It doesn't matter anymore, my death is seconds away." Daisuke frowned, "Then we'll defeat whatever you've created." Professor Suzuki began to laugh maniacally as his death fast approached, ""BEHOLD THE DESTRUCTION OF ULTRAMAN! GALLANT KILLER!"
With that he drew his last breath and the entire building began to shake, the robot's eyes glowing red as it slowly began to move. Takato frowned and turned towards Daisuke, "Dai, let's go!" Daisuke nodded as he brought out the Vee Flasher, and Takato the Gallant Spark, both of them raising them up high, "GALLANT! VEE!"
Ultraman Gallant and Vee rose from the building, landing nearby as slowly from the ruins emerged a robotic looking Gallant, summoning robotic versions of his lance and shield. Gallant looked at the robot and summoned his own weapons, "Let's make him regret calling that thing Gallant Killer." Vee nodded as the two charged at Gallant Killer, Vee using his speed to appear behind Gallant Killer and Gallant attacking him head on.
Gallant Killer raised his lance, parrying Gallant while it used its shield to push Vee back. The shield glowed as it fired a beam attack at Vee, Vee trying to block it with an energy shield. Gallant charged again, trying to kick the robot as grabbed his foot, sending him flying.
This went on for minutes, the robot hitting the two Ultras with every attack that Gallant himself used, it even imitated his other two forms, summoning a large ax and an energy lance. Gallant and Vee landed on the ground next to each other as Vee stood up, "I guess when they said they were studying us and whoever encountered us they weren't lying."
Gallant sighed as he stood up, "There has to be a way to beat it." As he said this, it made a familiar pose, energy started to pool in its arms. Vee groaned as he and Gallant began to prepare their own beams, "Of course it can do that too." Gallant said nothing as Gallant Killer fired his copied beam as he and Vee also fired their own, "JUSTIUM DRAGOON! DRAGONIC IMPULSIUM!"
The three beams collided, sending all three combatants flying backwards. Gallant and Vee got up as they were horrified to see Gallant Killer wasn't even scratched. Vee let out an exhausted groan, "Is there any way to beat this guy?" Gallant let out a tired sigh, "Vee I have an idea, but you'll only have a minute after I open a window to attack." Vee nodded, "Right, I'll follow your lead."
Gallant nodded as deep inside, Takato summoned a card, holding it up to the Gallant Spark, "Knight of Courage: Comrade hear my call!" The Gallant Spark lit up as an apparition of Ultraman Magna appeared, "ULTRAMAN MAGNA!"
Gallant began to pool light inside of his body, summoning every bit of energy he could as he ran at Gallant Killer, grabbing onto the robot, holding it in place, "MAGNIUM EXPLOSION!" Gallant released a massive red explosion, enveloping himself and Gallant Killer as Vee watched helplessly, "Gallant! Dammit Master Magna's technique is too dangerous for you."
The explosion began to clear as Vee saw Gallant on the ground, his color timer slowly flashing red, he was nearly at death's door. Even worse, a damaged Gallant Killer began to get up, still kicking after that attack. Vee felt anger growing inside of him, how? How could such a small portion of humanity do something this evil, capturing and nearly killing his best friend. Light began to rush to his chest as he placed his arms over the V on his chest, "VEE FORCIUM!"
A massive V shaped gold and blue attack came from his chest, hitting Gallant Killer square in the chest and sending it backwards, exploding as Vee stopped his attack. Not celebrating his victory, Vee rushed towards Gallant, "GALLANT!" He knelt down, giving Gallant some of his light as the Ultra slowly regained consciousness, "Vee? Did you get him?"
Vee nodded slowly, "Yeah I got him, now let's just get out of here." Gallant slowly got up, "Vee are you ok? You're being way too quiet right now." Vee shook his head, "I just need some time to think." Gallant nodded as the two pushed off the ground, flying away without another word said.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
It took them longer than they said they'd be here but Captain Kakuhiro and Tsubasa finally arrived, landing the Firehawk and exiting out to meet Reika. Reika frowned, "You're late, that massive robot just got taken out by Gallant and Vee." Tsubasa crossed his arms, "Where's Taka and Daisuke?"
Reika looked down, "I'm not sure." It went quiet before the three heard something, Takato being supported by Daisuke as they approached the Firehawk. Captain Kakuhiro smiled as the two reached them, "Well I'm glad to see both of you are ok." Takato nodded, "I wouldn't be without Daisuke, I'm glad you got him to help you rescue me."
Daisuke frowned, "I wasn't going to let them just kidnap you and not do anything." Takato smiled, "Are you feeling ok Daisuke?" Daisuke shook his head, "I'm just unsure of what I'm doing after this whole thing." Takato frowned, he was referring to protecting humanity, "Daisuke, you can't give up just because of this."
Daisuke sighed as Tsubasa brought out the medkit to check on Takato, "Look, I'm just remembering something I was taught a while ago and I'm just thinking maybe my master was right." Takato nodded slowly, "I understand so I won't push but just don't give up yet."
Daisuke said nothing for a moment before giving him a small smile, "Yeah I'll try." Captain Kakuhiro frowned and looked at Daisuke, "Everyone experiences the occasional doubts young man, I do hope you manage to overcome them in time." Daisuke nodded as Reika dusted herself off and approached the two, "Well with that over and done with, let's get out of here."
Takato smirked at her, "Hey Reika, now that this is over can you apologize for ripping up my drawing." Reika scowled at him, "Don't push your luck Shinkishi, I can admit you aren't a rookie but I'm not admitting you can draw." Takato sighed as they all began to board the Firehawk, "You know what, I'll take it."
As they began to take their leave, none of them noticed Ranbu still watching them. He put a hand on his chin, "Hmmm perhaps it's time for the three of us to have a true conversation." He began to laugh as he disappeared, already forming his next evil scheme.
