This next chapter will start out this story with Anne's mixed emotions throughout the day since her nightmare. Her existential crisis will begin to kick in to her mentally.
I personally experience some existential/identical crisis situation and it was a mess, but I'm somewhat getting better. Then, I saw this as an opportunity from my personal experience and applied it to Anne since I read some other fanfic stories of her dealing her existential crisis as well.
Without further ado, let's get to the story, shall we?
Chapter 6: New "School day".
The next morning, Saint James Middle school.
Anne was standing by the school entrance. She never felt so proud to be back at school after the invasion. She took a deep breath, inhaling in and exhaling out.
"Okay Anne," Anne said to herself, "It's time to get back to school."
Anne wore her new hairband to start fresh. She then approached the school door. She then touched the door handle and pulled it towards her, opening it.
She goes in, and sees everyone inside the hallways, minding their own business. Everyone then looked at Anne. They stood still for a moment. One of the students then broke the silence,
"Look, everyone!" said a student, "It's Anne Boonchuy!"
Then, they screamed, but in a happier mood like cheer. They all stand around Anne like the fans for every movie star. They all gave compliments to Anne.
"Hey," said a student, "Thanks for the fight!"
"Yeah, girl!" a female student said, "You got some serious skill!"
"How did you manage to beat that big guy?" another student said, "It seems logically impossible!"
"Okay, guys," Anne said, "I'll just go over there right now. Okay, byee!" Anne then goes through the hallways.
As she was walking, Anne reached to her locker. She opened her locker and picked up some textbooks and placed them inside of her backpack. She then closed the locker door and Maggie was next to her, causing Anne to be jumping.
"Maggie?" Anne asked surprised, "What do you want?"
"Hey," Maggie said, "I just want to apologize for all these years of bullying you. It was wrong of me."
"It's okay Maggie," Anne said, "I would've forgiven you months ago."
"Thanks Anne," Maggie said, "You have had my respect since the fight. And for that, I'm not gonna mess with you anymore."
"Oh," Anne said, "That's actually nice of you, Maggie."
"It sure is," Maggie said, "See you around." Maggie goes away to hang out with her other friends. As Anne saw Maggie gone into the crowd, Sasha appeared as she was walking towards Maggie, giving her a fist-bump before Maggie left. Sasha saw Anne, and walked towards Anne.
"Hey Anne," Sasha said, "Not expecting you to be famous here, huh?"
"Yeah," Anne said, "it seems new. I think this will be my new life now." Anne sighted as she leaned towards her locker door. Sasha noticed Anne's body language. She began to speak.
"You miss Marcy, don't you?" Sasha asked, "I miss her as well."
"Yeah," Anne replied, "I really do miss her so much. Just didn't know it would change this much."
"Well," Sasha said, "we just need to get through this together, okay?" Anne looked at Sasha as she listened to Sasha. She then gave a nod.
"You're right," Anne said, "We'll make it through." They both then give each other a handshake. Sasha wears her shades.
"See ya at class," Sasha said. They both depart in different directions with Anne heading to her first class of English while Sasha heading to the science room. Anne better after the talk, building up faith.
Then, her phone rang vibrate, and she pulled it from her pocket and looked at her phone, seeing a notification of text, opened it up. It was from Marcy as it reads:
MAR-MAR: "I Hope you and Sasha have a good day at school. I miss you from out of state. Love you, Anne-Banana!"
Anne looked at the text as she read. She feels so much better after reading Marcy's text. She replied back prior to entering her classroom. She wrote:
ANNA-BANANA: "We will and hope everything goes well over there for you. I miss you as well, Mar-mar. I love you too. TTYL"
It also had an emoji kiss at the end.
As the day goes by, Anne had feel somewhat a little distracted despite her population increases.
During her English class, her teacher, Mrs. Rayner, was giving lecture about writing a short story, based on identifications.
"Now, class," Mrs. Rayner said in elderly tone, "I'm only going to give you this time of class, to write down your personal essay, to reflect yourself from your past and perhaps, compare to you right now as a new person. Now, I want you to be honest with me and yourself. Now this essay will be due at the end of next week. So, i'll give you some work times now. Go ahead."
While everyone begin to think and write down their essay on their laptops, Anne was struggling so much, that she can't even identifying herself. She recalls her own self before...well her death. She was thinking for a moment, only to be flash back to her "demise" and something that was in her head. She hears voices.
"You have LOST!" said a voice, "Everything you love will soon be perish! And you are NOBODY!"
"I'M NOT NOBODY" Anne shouted, slammed her desk. She pants so much that when she calms down, she looks around her. Everyone, even Mrs. Rayner, were froze and stunned to hear from Anne.
She looks around and see their face of scare. She was horrifying for a moment until Mrs. Rayner calls her, snapped her out.
"Miss. Boonchuy?" Mrs. Rayner asked, "Is everything okay?"
Anne looks around and nodded, confused.
Later the day.
During her science class, her teacher, Dr. Koren, demonstrate to study an anatomy of a human skeletons.
Everyone seems to be doing well, except Anne, who sees the skeleton in other way. She tries to study, but flashes back to her nightmare, where there were bones on the walls. One bones pops in front of her, scaring her out, falls back.
She was on the ground, in reality. Everyone looks at her, concerns for Anne. She looks up and sees the faces of confused and horrified. She gets up as soon as the bells ring, without a single word.
During lunch, Everyone were having lunch as usual. Only a small tiny detail...the words of Anne's breakdown were spreading through individuals, to small groups to the entire school, even teachers. Anne was so stunned to hear of her breakdown, like one minute she was popular for the battle of L.A., and the next she's the gossip topic of the school.
Anne was getting her food, and then she took off, out of the cafeteria. Sasha, just enters, witnessed Anne's gone out. She followed her out in the field. She looks around and sees no Anne, except a bunch of students, playing basketballs on the backcourt, football in the grass area, chatting within a group, etc. Sasha looks everywhere, until she spots a Thai-American student, sitting up against the tree, hugging her knees and her head rest down. It was Anne Boonchuy, not in a good mood.
Sasha walks up to her, upon noticing her friend's sobbing, like she can hear the sadness from Anne few feet away from her. Feeling bad for her, Sasha decided to speak up.
"Hey," Sasha said calmly, "it's me. May I sit next to you?"
Anne looks up at Sasha, with a face of a mess with tears flowing down from her eyes, with lips wombling. She nods as she was still crying. Sasha then slowly sat down next to her.
"Hey, how's class so far?" Sasha asked as if she was talking like her mom. Anne wipes herself to calm herself down, as if she didn't want to talk while she cry. She then begin to speak.
"It was fine," Anne lied, "just had some lots of class/homework to deal with and I miss Marcy. That's all." Did Sasha hear this truthfully? Sasha can tell from her eyes, watering down on her face. She knows Anne for a long time evening ignoring her hidden feelings, but it's feels like she opened it as she can tell Anne's lying.
"Are you sure?" Sasha asked, "it's just others might have said you were having an...episode. I thought it was a hoax...or just to make those internet with Maddie" She chuckles quietly. "I'll just remind her of her business..."
"Actually," Anne spoke up, "it's wasn't for Maddie or a hoax. It's true."
Sasha looks at Anne, hearing the truth from her which she was gasps to hear her friend the truth.
"So, it's the truth then?" Sasha asked concerned, "what happened?"
Anne took a moment to calmed before she speaks.
"It's just that today was a disaster," Anne complained, "I can't even do any class work because...I see things now since last night." Sasha concerns and worries for her friend.
"Seeing what things?" Sasha asked. Anne didn't response back. She didn't want to let anyone know of her "dream" she dreamt last night. Yet, she feels like she must tell someone know of this, but fear that she'll might be rejected or make fun of.
Sasha see this and sigh in defeated.
"It's okay, Boonchuy," Sasha added, "You don't have to tell me now, but when you're ready to talk about it, I'll be here for ya." Sasha was about to get up, only to be stopped when her name is called by Anne.
"Hey, Sasha?" Anne asked, "Before you go, I wanna ask you a question."
"Sure," Sasha agreed, "what's the question?"
"I know this seems weird," Anne said, "but did you have a dream recently?" Sasha looked at Anne, concerning the question.
"Well, to be honest, I did," Sasha replied and took a deep breath before she spoke, "and it was a horrible. I see this weird area of Toad Tower where our friends were slaughtered by this weirdo. I tried to defend the tower, but this guy outsmarted me by slicing my left arm. I have never seen this guy before. I was horrified. I woke up, like I was on the ground. I'm just glad that it was over. What about you?"
"Well, yes," Anne replied, "it's almost like yours, but I see my grave at Wart wood, and this weird robot that's look like a Panda face but deadly and I enter this blood river and next thing, I seeā¦" She looks at Sasha, feeling scared yet tells her now to get it off to say next, "...these tube bodies of our friends, even Grime, Olivia, Sprig, and Marcy and you."
Sasha was shocked to hear, like her eyes were wide, as she hears a terrible truth.
"I was in the tubes?," Sasha asked, "was I-"
"Dead," Anne replied in sadness, "all of you. I just didn't expect this in my nightmare. I was scared and I woke up with that in my mind. I never feel fear because of this. I did, but this was more of a death situation, full of bodies. And this guy knew my name, in a demon tone and shot me in the head. Then, I woke up. It was scary."
"Oh my god," Sasha said, "So this dream affected you?" Anne nodded.
"I just don't understand why I had this dream," Anne said in a sad tone, "I just want to live normal like everyone else, but-" She almost began to burst to tears when Sasha hugged her. Sasha really cares for Anne, calming her down a bit.
"I know it's scary," Sasha said, "but remember it's just a dream. Dreams don't hurt you."
They both hugged it until the bell rang, lunchtime ended. They both released their hugs, getting ready to resume their class. They both get up from the tree.
"See ya around, Anne," Sasha said, "I'm glad we had this talk."
"Thanks, Sasha," Anne thanked, "for being here for me. See ya later."
They both parted ways as Anne tried to calm herself down after the talk. She can hope that her dream is nothing but only a fiction dream.
First of all, This chapter had me do some rework from my original work. Took me a while to revise while also trying to build my storyline for my other story, Secrets of the Cyborg-Man. Perhaps, I will try to take a break of this story while I focus on making my story plan.
Anyway, This chapter, I do want to explore Sasha being more sympathy character since she had changed during season 3, less being controlled-manipulative person. Hopefully, this story can also explore how Sasha became a psychotic doctor during the epilogue.
For Anne, I want to give her experience her little breakdown during her class, as her nightmare had affected on her, but I also thinking of having her breakdown from her trauma events, like witness Sprig's almost demise, witness Marcy's betrayal, etc., to serve her existential crisis.
So, hope you enjoyed this. If you want, leave a review here. Let me know what you think. Until next time.
