THIRTY EIGHT - DATES
Rose had just finished getting ready for the evening, spraying some perfume on herself "Jack, are you sure they'll be OK? You know what they can be like when they're not with one of us" she said nervously "Rose, they'll be fine. One night won't hurt. They'll have fun with Molly. She'll tire them out so much they won't even think about us… they'll be fine darling, I promise" he repeated as he kissed her head .
—
Jack, Rose and the children arrived at Molly's hotel. Surprisingly, Teddy didn't complain or become upset when he realised Jack and Rose wouldn't be staying, he was reassured enough by them promising they would be back, much to Jack and Rose's relief and surprise. They said goodbye to both the children and thanked Molly before leaving.
—
"So, what should we do?" Rose asked as they reached the main road.
"I've got it all planned" Jack smiled "yes?" Rose smiled at him, suspiciously "first, we're going to ride horse back down the beach but-" "but none of that side saddle stuff" Rose interrupted, smirking as she rolled her eyes "exactly…" he laughed "then we'll go ride the rollercoaster before drinking cheap beer… then I was thinking we could go for a meal?" "That sounds lovely… thank you" Rose kissed him.
—
They made it to the beach and mounted the horses "Jack… I don't think I can do this, I've never ridden this way before" "there's a first time for everything… you'll be fine… I promise" he smirked at her "no… no… really" she said, worried, but the horse began to walk "Jack!!!" Rose laughed and Jack did the same.
—
They rode down the beach for around an hour before deciding to get off, Jack helping Rose off her horse "that was fun" she smiled as they walked away, his arm round around her waist "better than the side saddle stuff?" He asked "definitely better than the side saddle stuff" she smirked and kissed him.
"Beer or rollercoaster first?" Jack asked "hmm… rollercoaster" she smiled. Once they paid they took their seats on the ride "you have to keep your arms in the air at all times, OK?" Jack looked at her "what?" "It's all part of the fun, I promise" Jack laughed "OK…"
They went on the ride 3 times, screaming and laughing as they did, keeping their arms in the air all the way round.
"Now, cheep beer" Jack grabbed her hand and pulled her through the crowds to the bar on the pier. "Nicer than the one on the ship?" Jack asked as they sat at a table by the bar "definitely" Rose laughed as she downed the drink. 2 and a half beers later they were back on the pier, starting to feel the effects of the alcohol "should we head for some dinner?" Jack asked "I can think of other ways to spend the last child free hour" Rose smirked "oh yeah?" He smirked back at her. She kissed him and nodded "well that's one way of sobering up I guess" he laughed as he kissed her "let's go" she laughed and pulled him towards the exit of the pier and back to the hotel.
—
An hour or so later they headed to Molly's hotel to collect the children.
"How've they been?" Jack asked quietly as they entered the room "they've been fine" Molly nodded "good as gold" "brilliant… thank you Molly, we really appreciate it" Rose replied "no worries at all darlin'" Molly responded "shall we meet for coffee tomorrow?" "Erm, yes… Jack promised Teddy a day at the beach so it might be me on my own if that's OK?" Rose questioned "that's fine… see you at the little coffee shop at the end of the road around 11?" "Sounds lovely" Rose smiled as she picked up Eliza, Jack picking up Teddy as they both slept. "See you tomorrow" Rose smiled "thanks again Molly" Jack said as they left.
