I hope this chapter is worth the wait. I tried my best and am sincerely sorry for any plot holes, grammar and spelling mistakes. By the way, I'm now also on AO3!!! Find me as: StarsOfTheMoon
Disclaimer: My name is not J.K Rowling and I'm too young to be her. I'm a lil toddler who's playing around with her characters~
Kingsley Shacklebolt wondered if this was how Azkaban felt like. Cold, damp and alone. He didn't feel lonely, no. He wondered if the prisoners in Azkaban did. Except he had something to look forward to, while the prisoners were hopeless and the dementors didn't help. Forever tormented by their sins. Full of regret.
He shook his head mentally. He couldn't get sympathetic towards prisoners of Azkaban! They were Death Eaters, they killed and tortured many people. Innocent people.
Suddenly, the metal door swung upon slowly, with a long, loud creak following its wake. He could not see the face of a bulky, dark figure which loomed in the doorway.
"Ah, Minister. I apologise for the delay - I've been very busy lately." A deep and uncomfortably cheerful voice, sounding like a strict grandfather, came from the figure.
"Did you miss me?"
As he stumbled through the door, his breaths short, he could only think one thing:
What if I am right?
Collapsing on a velvety green couch - how ironic - with golden lines running through it, he took a shaky breath and Accio'd a calming draught which he drank in one gulp. He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down. Harry, slowly! He could hear Healer 'Mione's voice in his mind.
Hermione!
His eyes snapped open. She could help him with sorting this out!
"...the Minister has gone missing, 'Mione."
"Really?" She spoke in surprise at her husband's words. They were having their morning tea and Ron was called for in short notice on a Sunday - how fair is that, she thought bitterly.
"Yes. And I'm in the search party to look for him. He hadn't been seen or heard for about 4 days and the clueless bloody Aurors realized it only today!" Ron remarked, angry with the stupidity displayed by the Ministry. Casting a tempus, "I must leave now darling. It's getting late." He gave a quick kiss to her on the lips and they both bade each other goodbye.
Her shift wasn't on Sunday's, so she sat in the living room reading the article about the disappearance of the minister in today's newspaper. That's when the floo turned green - the almost same colour of the eyes of the person who stepped through.
Harry had come to see her. Sighing, she lay down on her hospital bed in St.Mungo's. At least he bothered, she thought. Her attention went towards the door as it opened. A doctor - Hemmingworth, probably - stepped in.
"How are you, Mrs.Potter?" He asked with a cheerful smile.
Mrs.Potter.
"I'm well, thank you doctor." She replied, a bit wary of the small talk.
"I'm here to discuss your treatment." His words surprised her, for she thought it would be some boring small talk like usual.
"My treatment? They're nothing wrong with me! I'm not ill." She shrieked.
"Calm down, madam. Here have water." He reached out for a glass of water which was kept on the side table, but she pushed his hand away.
Then there was total chaos.
The man had a long grey beard, which appeared rough and was loose pretty much unlike Dumbledore's. He wore a brown cloak upon a sliver set of robes - pureblood robes. His hair was long and grey too, and ended just above his waist. Both the beard and hair looked well-cared for, and his robes appeared new. His chin and nose were still handsome, but not attractive. To him they were appalling. The skin of his cheeks was a bit loose, hardly noticeable. Grey eyelashes covered a more deeper shade of grey eyes - eyes filled with cheerful malice.
Cygnus Black.
"Took you a bit of time to realize that, Minister." A proud smile graced his lips. Kingsley put up his shields.
Skilled legilimens. Even I didn't notice him enter my mind.
"Ouch. Didn't think the minister could even know Occlumency. Anyways," the old Black started coming towards him and pacing around the Minister, "To the point. You must be thinking, why did I capture you here? How could the security breach happen? Well, let me tell you, minister," he stopped pacing.
"I will break you."
HAHAHAHAHAHA Sorry for that cliffhanger. Well, not really. In the next chapters we'll be not seeing Kingsley, whoops. I hope you liked it and please review!
And also sorry for no Draco in this chapter.
