A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 Chapter 22
That same evening, not long before curfew is supposed to commence, Harry and Bailey head down alone to Hagrid's Hutt to spend some time with the pups. It's been a long day and it's not difficult for Harry to ascertain that he needs some downtime to take his mind off things.
This decision is highly favorable to Bailey for she relishes every single moment she can spend with her growing children.
A good thing the duo arrived when they did.
Bold is up to his old tricks.
No sooner do Harry and Bailey show up that they catch Bold in the midst of the act of digging a tunnel underneath the fence in order to get out and cause no end of mischief.
Exactly what Harry needs to cause more stress on him when things are just settling down.
Bailey runs over to the section of the fence Bold is so fervently digging while the others in her brood go over to the gate to greet Harry. Bailey barks causing Bold to snap his head up instantly upon recognizing her voice. He immediately ceases all activity panting innocently at her with his tongue lolling out goofily.
Bailey is not fooled. All the children are aware that at this stage in their development, they cannot be allowed to roam the innards of the castle or on the grounds unsupervised. And yet Bold seems determined to take advantage of every opportunity he can get his paws on to test this ruling. She slips inside the gate and then proceeds to cuff her most troublesome son on the back of the ear in beratement. Truly it is undeniable that Bailey's paws are starting to become sore from how many times she's had to scold him in this manner considering this point.
One day Bold's overconfidence is going to get the better of her son.
Sufficiently chastised under his mother's expressed displeasure Bold joins the other pups in greeting Harry. This visit is already doing Harry some good, improving his mood vastly. Her sons and daughters can always cheer his disposition no matter what significantly so. From inside the hut Hagrid peers at them through the window glass. He waves a greeting at Harry. One that her boy returns enthusiastically.
The initial excitement passed the pups returned to what they'd been preoccupied with previously. Other than Bold of course.
Bold, Ranger, Bounder, Friendly, Charmer, and Whisper are practicing a hunter's pounce technique on some pinecones instead of actual live prey given there isn't anything currently offered before them. Unsurprisingly the girls are made to be believed as the superior students in this technique when it comes to progress. The boys glare at their sisters with dislike while the girls stand there in smug pride at their shared accomplishment.
Dreamer doesn't participate. She prefers to lie down beside her mother just enjoying being in Bailey's presence and having time all to herself.
Bailey notices Harry is continuously distracted. Riddle's diary is the main reason. Harry had been digging in his book bag, sorting through the objects that had been ruined by spilled ink from the earlier scuffle, and saw that Riddle's diary was unblemished from the spoiled ink.
Nearly everything in there had been ladened with it forcing Harry to use a cleaning spell yet Riddles's diary is completely unblemished. He's flicking through the blank pages. Not a single trace of red ink at all. Suddenly getting an idea Harry extracts an unopened bottle carrying black ink. He drops a blot onto the first page of the diary from his quill. As suspected the drop is absorbed into the parchment, vanishing in a second.
Bailey watches closely as Harry eagerly puts down his name. The full sentence is absorbed the same as the blot.
To Bailey's astonishment and suspicion new words in a cursed script replace his large printed ones. It politely greets him back and mentions that its name is Tom Riddle.
Alarm bells go off in Bailey's head, but Harry sees this as an incentive and a chance to acquire much needed answers.
Barely containing his excitement Harry asks Tom Riddle if he knows anything about the Chamber of Secrets.
These words, too, faded away, and Tom Riddle's response is scribbled back. His reply is that yes he does know. Harry presses for details but receives frustrated disappointment when Tom Riddle explains that he is unable to properly tell him what occurred 50 years ago. Instead Tom Riddle offers another separate solution.
Showing events that went down besides just talking about it in words. Tom Riddle explains that the diary holds memories of terrible things. Specifically, things that were covered up to save face and happened at Hogwarts. And Tom Riddle can easily show Harry by taking him inside his own personal memory of the night he personally caught the perpetrator. Despite the various unknown factors behind it Harry accepts the offer.
Bailey can do nothing to stop him.
The pages of the diary begin to blow as though caught in a high wind, stopping halfway through the month of June. The date of June 13th.
The pages emit an almost blinding glow that sucks Harry right in leaving Bailey behind.
No longer being held the diary falls into the dirt.
Bailey jumps to her feet releasing a startled, scared, and worried bark. Dreamer whines, not liking what she just witnessed. Drawn by the commotion the other pups quickly hurry over. Dreamer informs them what's gotten their mother so upset as Bailey paws at the diary. Hoping that maybe by probing it her boy will emerge.
That doesn't seem to be the case. Whatever it is Tom Riddle is showing Harry appears to have to run its course.
All Bailey has to do is wait.
Fortunately, Bailey doesn't have to wait too long.
A couple of minutes pass by and Harry is literally thrown out from the diary's pages.
Harry lies on his back stunned as Bailey and her children surround him. All eight are sniffing Harry all over checking for any injuries. Harry is unhurt, but the information he's been shown from that unusual trip has blown his mind.
"Whoa," he exclaimed.
Harry gathers up all his belongings, including the diary, and makes for the gate.
"Come on, Bailey," urged Harry.
Bailey obeys, concerned at what's gotten him so out of sorts. She follows him out after giving fleeting goodnight licks to her pup's heads.
Harry leads the way as they run for Gryffindor Tower. They make it right on time for curfew.
Harry wakes a groggy Ron up in his bed and shares his findings in a hushed tone of voice so no one else can hear.
Breathlessly, Harry gasped "It was Hagrid, Ron. Hagrid opened the Chamber of Secrets 50 years ago."
Say what?
Authors Note:
For those of you on fanfiction I'm sure you've been facing the many unwanted ads when you're reading a story. Well, yesterday, I finally had enough, and I got an adblocker app. It worked! No more ads on any level! The one I got is Adblock Pro: Safari Ad Blocker. It really works. Just follow the instruction video that it attached to it.
Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of months ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.
When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in some way. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.
Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.
Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads if it is sent to you. But when it does you should definitely pressing the report abuse button and send it to the email that leads to the support staff that is available.
Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.
I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D
For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.
Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.
So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
