Knock, Knock, Knock.

The quiet and peaceful day of the Heeler family was interrupted by the Border Collie family. They had planned out dinner together, the Collies bringing curry and the Heelers providing side dishes and dessert. Surprisingly, Mackenzie was pretty excited, albeit a little anxious. It had been a couple of weeks since he last saw Bandit, as he had left for his trip during their last curry swap. However, it wasn't him that made him anxious, rather, it was Bingo. The last time Bandit had visited, Bingo had tagged along, and when they talked, he let slip the news that Bandit was leaving for his trip soon, which hurt Bingo.

He didn't mean to hurt her, not at all. All this time, he had felt bad, and wanted to apologize, so he talked to his parents about planning something together with the Heelers. And from there, plans for dinner was a go.

Soon enough, Chili had answered the door. "Good afternoon Joshua, Mariah, and Mackenzie!" The three returned the greeting. However, something felt off for Mackenzie.

"Um, Bluey's mom? Where's Bluey?" Mackenzie asked. Usually when they visit, Bluey would open the door and drag him inside.

Chili got down on one knee and faced him. "I'm sorry Mackenzie but Bluey is with her cousin's at the moment. Muffin has been wanting her to visit for a while now."

"Alright.. and Bingo? Is she here?"

"Bingo? Why yes, she's in her room right now. Would you like to play with her before we eat?"

Mackenzie slowly nodded. Chili gave him a small smile before gesturing to them to come on in. The three collies walk in. Joshua and Mariah walked with Chili to the kitchen, where Bandit was prepping the side dishes. Mackenzie, though, slowly walked up to the stairs and walked down the hall to Bluey and Bingo's room. He walked up to the door and knocked. He could hear Bingo hopping off her bed and making her way to the door, opening it.

"Mackenzie?" She asked, a little confused.

"Hey Bingo. It's dinner night, remember?"

She gasps, her tail wagging. "Oh my gosh I forgot! What did you bring??"

Mackenzie couldn't help but smile at her energy. "Curry." He could see her begin to drool. "Hey Bingo? Can we talk?"

She wiped away her drool before responding. "About??"

"Well… look. Do you remember the last curry swap our parents did?"

She puts a finger to her chin and looks up. "Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm oh! The day we got attacked by birds," she pouted and shook her head.

"...riiiight. Anyways.. Bingo, I'm sorry for hurting you then."

"Hurting me? What do you mean?" She looked back to him, tilting her head slightly. She racked her little head, trying to remember what happened, but nothing came up.

"You don't remember? I.. I told you about your dad's trip, that you and him were going to the airport, and you seemed so hurt by it!" Mackenzie felt his neck tighten. Although this wasn't a big issue necessarily, it was always in the back of his head since it happened, and it made him feel bad each time he thought of it.

"Ehpowt?" She racked her head once more, and soon enough she remembered that talk, and her feeling sad afterwards. "Oh! I remember!"

Mackenzie stayed silent for a little bit. "I'm sorry Bingo. I really am. Do you forgive me?"

Bingo looked at Mackenzie before a cheeky smile appeared on her face. "I do. Only iiiiifffff… you play a game with me!!" Before Mackenzie could respond, Bingo grabbed his arm and pulled him into the room, much to his surprise. Once inside, he saw that Bingo had what seemed to be a hospital setup on the rug. Floppy was laying in what seemed to be an operating table on the bed, with plastic tools to the side.

"I.. Sure?? But uh, what game?"

"Doctors! You play the doctor and I'll play as a nurse! And we gotta save Floppy! She got into an accident and we need to help her!" Mackenzie took a bit to think about the game, and before he could speak he was interrupted by Bingo. "Remember, I won't forgive you if you don't play," she maintained that cheeky smile.

"Yea I remember. Let's play!" Mackenzie shook his head and grabbed a nearby white blanket, wrapping it around him like a doctor's coat. Bingo would do something similar, but with a white jacket instead. For the next half hour, they played together, doing their best to fix up Floppy. Much to his surprise, Bingo didn't make any changes to the game or told him what to do, which was something that Bluey did often when they played. For him, it was a nice change of pace. Despite her earlier actions, Bingo had returned back to her normal reserved but happy self.

Soon enough, the adults called for them to come down for dinner, much to Bingo's dismay. They left the room and headed down, the adults talking amongst themselves at the table. They weren't talking about anything important, so Mackenzie zoned them out. For the rest of the day, they all ate together, making small talk as they did. Both Jushua and Mariah noticed Mackenzie's mood had changed following him and Bingo's game. They had looked to each other and smiled. Seeing their son's mood change from anxious and worried to joyful had made their day.

This was the most that Mackenzie and Bingo had spent time together playing. Even though Bluey was closer to him than Bingo, he really enjoyed her company. As for Bingo, she enjoyed playing with Mackenzie. Sometimes when Bluey would come home from school, she would talk about the games she played with him and, although most of them were fun and good, she would sometimes tell Bingo about their disagreements. But much to Bingo's surprise, during their play session, Mackenzie never once disagreed with her. Thus, she felt a bit of pride in that and decided on telling Bluey about it once she came back home.

It had become late, and the collies had to leave. Joshua and Mariah had said their goodbyes to Bandit and Chili, thanking them for the dessert while Bandit and Chili thanked them for the curry. As they were doing so, Bingo and Mackenzie were in the living room, sitting on the couch and talking with each other. Once Mackenzie heard his parents calling for him, he got up off the couch.

"Today was pretty fun Bingo, we should play more often!" Mackenzie said, stretching his arms and legs.

Bingo hopped off the couch as well before looking at him and nodding. "Super fun!"

"Alright, see ya Bingo," he gave a small wave before walking to his parents, who were waiting on the porch for him. His dad put a hand onto his shoulder as they walked to their car.

"Today was a great day," both Bingo and Mackenzie thought.
