Chapter 1!

A slice of life fic all centered around 1-B and what normal, weird, or even useless things they get up to on the many days in between. Per usual there will be a different Fem!Izuku and she's in 1-B.

I've been in the mood for slice of life stuff and wanted to explore 1-B and their dynamics with each other which means a lot of different character groupings going forward. This fic takes place after dorms begin.

Enjoy, more notes at the end!

Vlad-sensei's Observations #1

*Sekijiro POV*

It was a phenomenon within his class.

Like any social environment, groups had been formed since the first day but rather quickly Sekijiro noticed an odd trend amongst his students. The groups they had formed, that were more defined by friends, would scramble multiple times in a day into other more specific collections that were closer to small clubs. These interest based groups acted more on that topic rather than off the basis of friendship but nonetheless they held a degree of enjoyment. The teacher often saw students that he hadn't expected would spend time with one another engaged in deep conversations about their respective subjects. All of Sekijiro's students were part of multiple of these small groups and they often held different collections of members.

The blood hero had really gone on to notice and learn about these groups once U.A had switched to their current dorm situation. Of course overtime these small collections of students grew closer and became friends as well but it was still a sight to see when they did their infamous group shuffling. There were many sub-groups in the class now and the 1-B teacher was doing his best to sort through and remember all of them quickly. His students had dubbed all of these groups as clubs, despite not officially being ones in the school sense, and Sekijiro twirled his pen as he listed them and their members down on his clipboard while heading for the dorm.

There was the Media Studies Club that was comprised of Tsunotori Pony, Fukidashi Manga, Kodai Yui, and Tsuburaba Kosei. The four of them would discuss about respective fields such as anime for Tsunotori, manga for Fukidashi, and live action in regards to adaptation and effects from Kodai and Tsuburaba.

Next was the Literature Club made up of Monoma Neito, Kuroiro Shihai, Shishida Jurota, and Honenuki Juzo. The four of them would read their preferred pieces of literature and convene to discuss in depth about topics and such from them.

The Documentary Club of Tokage Setsuna, Yanagi Reiko, Midoriya Izumi, and Kamakiri Togaru also came to mind. The somewhat random grouping of students each focused on different types of documentaries, Tokage watching paleontology, Yanagi searching for horror, Midoriya interested in mythology, and Kamakiri studying insects, but the other three would intently listen to the one who held the knowledge of whatever they watched together.

The Fashion Club was a group that Tokage and Yanagi were also a part of alongside Kendo Itsuka and Komori Kinoko. The four girls would come together to discuss clothing and accessories as well as which styles their classmates worked best with.

The Gardening Club was headed up by Shiozaki Ibara with the support of Komori, Kodai, and Kamakiri. Shiozaki was well versed in all aspects of plant life while Komori was knowledgeable in fungi, Kodai in vegetables, and Kamakiri in understanding insects that were helpful and harmful to the gardens.

The Arts Club, to no surprise, also found Fukidashi as a member alongside Awase Yosetsu, Kaibara Sen, and Bondo Kojiro. Fukidashi was skilled in all sorts of illustration, particularly manga, while Awase, despite his welding quirk, was taken with woodwork carvings. The other two members, Kaibara and Bondo, took pride in photography and model kit assembly respectively.

The ever eccentric Occult Club drew Yanagi, Midoriya, and Kuroiro together. The three students each came from different veins of the field but still managed to discuss connections between those topics of horror, mythology, and taboos.

The Fitness Club was one of the larger groups although they didn't always find a chance to gather all at once. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Kamakiri had already become gym buddies prior to the dorm system but with that addition the group gained Kendo, Komori, and Honenuki. The pair worked out together as Kendo polished her martial arts and Komori practiced her dancing all while Honenuki took a more supportive role similar to an athletic trainer to ward off injury in his fellow members.

The Sport's Fans Club was made of 1-B's VP Shoda Nirengeki, Tsuburaba, and Tetsutetsu. Shoda was an avid boxing fan while Tsuburaba enjoyed most any ball sport and Tetsutetsu enjoyed competitive sports in general. The group could be found energetically cheering for sports no matter if they were over television or any other device.

When there was a lack of sports the Gaming Club made use of the main television. Tetsutetsu and his friend from the same prefecture Tokage could be seen and heard hammering at controllers while Awase provided commentary from behind them as he played games on his phone.

One of the more overall useful groups was the Cooking Club. It was called as such but only prominently featured Shoda and Shiozaki. Shoda was the most reliable when it came to various cuisines while Shiozaki had a penchant for baking breads. The two often acted as the head chef or baker and directed the other students when the class prepared their meals as a whole.

A very unique system that Sekijiro's students had come up with was the Broadcasting Club. Honenuki, Kendo, and Midoriya had begun a weekly in dorm broadcast that began on Monday mornings where they would cover important events happening across the week. Honenuki was able to balance an entertaining and informative program with the help of the responsible class president Kendo and dry delivery Midoriya.

The next group appeared on more rare occasions but it was the Comedy Club formed by Tsunotori, Fukidashi, Kaibara, and Shishida. Tsunotori and Fukidashi fancied the classic straight man and funny man acts of manzai comedy with Fukidashi using his impactful head bubbles to play the funny man which Tsunotori reacted energetically back to. Kaibara was able to play both roles alternatively and Shishida, while enjoying the others' stand up, was quick witted with wordplay.

There was a very rare group that were often only heard rather than seen. The Instrumental Club, though not always able to get all three of them together at once, played incredible pieces that the students couldn't help but stop everything they were doing to listen to. Tsuburaba, perhaps because his quirk had to do with air, was adept with multiple instruments that required that but he appeared most proficient with the trumpet. His duet partner was quite shockingly Midoriya who had the rare pick of a euphonium but the pair worked in nigh perfect sync when they met up. The last member Komori was quite familiar with the piano and when she found the time she played alongside the two brass users.

The drama club was one the teacher had to do his absolute best to even understand what they were talking about. Kuroiro, Fukidashi, Yanagi, and Monoma almost sounded like different beings to the blood hero whenever they conversed all together but at the very least they were extremely passionate about their topics.

The Quiet Club, Sekijiro had no clue about why the students needed to recognize this as one of their official clubs, was home to Kodai, Yanagi, Bondo, and Midoriya. The four would sit amongst each other with hardly any words, mainly communicating through subtle motions and eye contact, but they got on well and understood one another smoothly. Only Bondo seemed to be actually shy among them, though Kodai was up for debate, but he appeared quite comfortable amongst these less talkative peers. There were others who could have fit amongst them but, after growing closer with the class, Komori and Tsunotori overcame their shy silence and were more talkative with the 1-B students while these four still retained a general quietness even with the class.

The Particularly Bad at Studying Club was one that Sekijiro was somewhat grateful towards for existing. Monoma, Tetsutetsu, and Awase recognized their weaknesses and banded together to learn by enlisting the aid of the other students. The rest of 1-B didn't mind helping them at all and they had been showing steady improvement much to the teacher's joy.

On a less exciting note, the Prankster's Club, another of the baffling why it needed to exist clubs, had Monoma, Midoriya, Kaibara, and Tsunotori finding harmless ways to amuse themselves at the expense of others. Monoma saw some sort of challenge in these antics as Kaibara and Tsunotori were more so pulled into the pranks but Midoriya was the big mystery. You knew she was involved somehow but you could never actually pin her down with any sort of solid evidence.

With another spin of his pen, Sekijiro stared at the list he'd made and he truthfully had to wonder just how they had made so many groups in such a short time, or how they managed to make so much time and get so much done with each group. There were currently eighteen known clubs among his class with the prospect of more being created and some students such as Midoriya were part of six of these groups. Despite this strange practice of the 1-B students the blood hero grinned a little.

Sekijiro was very proud of his students.

Not only for their growth but their sense of camaraderie amongst one another as well as their initiative and self sufficiency as a class. They still asked his permission for things but once they obtained it they worked together to implement their ideas all on their own for the betterment or enjoyment of their class as a whole. That wasn't to say that they didn't feel as if they could rely on him but rather a show of them taking his teachings to heart and building off them to become independent.

They really were wonderful students.

His prideful admiration however was put on hold as he neared the dorms and heard the loud chatter of his students and unknown noises that must have only spelled trouble created by none other than themselves. Sekijiro began to steel himself for whatever was going on but he stopped as the door opened just barely and Kendo poked her head out. The class president gave him a brief shake of her head and a quiet 'We can fix it' before closing the door and yelling some muffled commands and the teacher simply turned around and went about his day.

Well, they still had some growing up to do.

Notes and Stuff

Get ready to see snippets of these many groups. These were just the ones I came up with while first drafting this out so I'm sure there will be more in the future.

I doubt I'll do dedicated pairings here, you'll likely get undertones cause it's me, but for this I'm keeping it slice of life antics focused. Izumi is different as always and I'll make sure to delivery the usual info such as personality, general appearance, and quirk soon enough. I'm also thinking of keeping the names generally uniform by using last names and maybe some obvious nicknames. The main exception would be that the person whose POV it is would use their given name. It's really just to avoid as much confusion as possible for the readers.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
