Yo Bros and welcome to my first fanfic ever!
First off, I wanna give a special thanks to Majorbrony95 for inspiring this story with his JSPR fic and a shout-out to Shocknawe 425 for proofreading this.
Now I'm sure most of you are probably wondering why this fic is listed as 'RWBY + X-overs' when this seems to be a regular RWBY fic with an OC or two thrown in. Well, that's because I'm swapping out a few characters with some girls from other franchises further down the road… Namely Jaune, Ren, Fox, Yatsuhashi and Team SSSN-
(Guns cocking)
Woah, woah! Put the torches and pitchforks down and let me explain.
Before anyone starts raging, I made sure to replace Fox and Yatsuhashi with characters with names that start with F and Y, so team CFVY lives on and I don't think most of you will have a problem with who the two new girls will be. You'll have to wait until the team shows up to find out who they are though :P
Now, I don't want to make this segment longer than the story itself so I'll just stop here, let you enjoy the story, and state the rest in my Author's Note at the bottom.
Places, everyone!
And… Action!
Disclaimer: I own nothing but my two OCs.
Divine Intervention
Chapter 1: The Shining Beacon
The bullhead docked at the edge of Beacon's surface and everyone stepped out onto the stone path. Most notable among them were a young man with a young woman hanging from his arm.
He had nicely tanned skin and short curly brown hair while his clothing consisted of a red leather jacket, a green shirt, blue jeans, black combat boots and a pair of black sunglasses.
She was slightly paler than him with bright red hair and was clad in a simple white tunic ending in a short pink skirt with white sneakers.
"Come on Nora, I need that arm," the man chuckled, trying to playfully pry the girl off him. "But Dante, it's so comfy!" Nora playfully whined. Dante just smirked and raised a finger from his free hand.
"Don't do it," Nora pleaded, "don't you dare-"
"Boop," Dante said as the finger made contact with her nose. Nora tensed up and slid off Dante's arm. "You're despicable," she moped, lying on the ground. "But you love me anyway," Dante said, not stopping or looking back.
To say that Nora jumped back to her feet would not be accurate. It was more like she simply tilted upwards from being on her back to being on her feet. "That I do," replied Nora, skipping after her boyfriend.
Dante looked around and noticed that most students had already gone inside. "Rush, rush, rush," he muttered with a shake of his head, "why do people never stop and smell the roses?"
"Ooh, something shiny!" Nora chirped before speeding off down the stone path. Dante just chuckled, "guess I'm just old fashioned."
He'd only taken a couple more steps before an explosion sounded in the distance. "By the Brothers, what did she do now?" Dante didn't even realize he'd said that out loud before he started running.
Arriving on the scene, Dante was treated to a surreal sight: two girls stood in a crater covered in soot, one in black and red with a cloak and the other in white with hair to match in both cases.
As for Nora, she was rolling on the ground laughing.
"See?!" The white one glared at the red one, "This is exactly what I was talking about!" The red one flinched back and mumbled, "sorry…"
"Ugh, you complete dolt!" The white one went on as if the other girl hadn't spoken at all, "what's someone as young as you even doing here?"
"Hey, can't you see she feels bad enough?!" They both turned to look at Dante as he glared and continued, "someone wanna explain what happened?"
Nora, who was still on her back, piped up, "Little Red got ditched by her sister and fell back into Whitey's luggage. Whitey got all prissy and started shaking a vial of Fire Dust at her, but some leaked out and Red sneezed so hard she set it off!"
Then she promptly burst out into a new fit of laughter.
"Well what do you know," Whitey said, gesturing to Nora, "even the bubble-brain can tell this wasn't my fault." When she turned back to Dante, he was suddenly standing right between her and Little Red.
She had to look up as he was almost a whole head taller than her.
"First of all," Dante sneered, "it sounds to me like you were the one waving hazardous material around."
He jammed a finger on her collarbone and her face might have gone a little red under the soot.
"And secondly," Dante continued, "that 'bubble-brain' is my girlfriend, so watch your pretty little mouth, princess."
"It's heiress, actually," came a gentle new voice.
Everyone turned to see another girl with long black hair wearing a matching bow and an outfit Dante could have sworn was lingerie at first glance.
"Weiss Schnee," the new girl nodded at Whitey, "heiress to the Schnee Dust Company: one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."
Dusting off the soot, the now-named Weiss raised her chin proudly, "finally, some recognition." The new girl's expression didn't change as she added, "the same company infamous for its controversial labor policies and questionable business partners."
Dante and Little Red snickered as Weiss began to flounder. Unable to think of a response, Weiss just huffed and stormed off in outrage.
"I promise I'll make this up to you!" Little Red called after her before slumping a little, "guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day." She then turned to say something to the girl in black, but she was already walking away too.
All of a sudden, she felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see Dante still with her. He smiled warmly and held out a hand, "welcome to Beacon, name's Dante." "Ruby," she replied, taking the hand.
They both looked over at Nora as she finally got tired of laughing and stood up. Dante looked at his bare wrist, "wow, five minutes. That's gotta be a new record, Nora." "Yes!" She fist-pumped before skipping over to them.
"Come on," Dante said, "we'll miss orientation at this point." They all started walking with Nora once again locking both her arms around one of Dante's.

"I'm just saying," Nora said as they neared the auditorium, "I got nothing against sniper rifles, especially one that turns into a scythe, but adding a grenade launcher would make it way cooler!"
Dante turned to say something to Ruby, but she was actually examining her aforementioned weapon. "Now that you mention it," the cloaked girl said, mostly to herself, "I could add a launcher attachment under the rifle barrel."
Dante cleared his throat, "If you two are done talking about accessories, we should probably get inside before announcements start." Nora just smirked before fake-whispering to Ruby, "he's just jealous he only has a sword." "It can turn into a spear," Dante shot back, "you of all people know I'm not some one trick pony." Nora shrugged, "technically, you can only do one thing; you can just do more with it than most."
Dante glowered, but there was no anger in it, "I think that deserves another boop."
"You'll never take me alive!" She fake-screamed before bolting through the door.
Ruby looked at Dante, who was just smiling and shaking his head, "you two seem close." He turned to her, still smiling, "we've both been through a lot, but we've always had each other. Kind of a perfect pair if you think about it: I keep her grounded and she keeps me on my toes."
Ruby returned the smile, "yeah, my big sister's the same way. A few days ago…" Whatever she said after that was drowned out by other people talking as they entered the auditorium.
Ruby scanned the area before spotting a tall blonde girl with bright lilac eyes clad in a brown leather outfit that showed a lot of skin waving at her.
"Oh," she squeaked, grabbing Dante's arm, "there she is!"
Seeing that Nora was near where Ruby was taking him, Dante didn't resist and went along with her.
The girl's smile brightened even more when they got to her. "Hey, Yang," Ruby said, letting go of the arm, "oh, uh, this is-"
"YOU!" Both Yang and Dante said, pointing fingers at each other.
In a split second, Yang wrapped her arms around Dante's neck. Dante returned the hug and spun her around with a hearty laugh.
"Oh, this day just gets better and better!" Yang smirked as Dante set her down.
"Uh, somebody wanna fill me in?" Ruby said, crossing her arms and shifting her weight a little.
"Oh, right," Yang replied, scratching the back of her head, "remember that nightclub you found me at a while back?" Ruby arched an eyebrow, "you mean the one where you punched the owner through a wall on the second story?"
"He messed with my hair!" Yang shot back before clearing her throat, "anyway, I kinda had a dance partner during that whole thing."
Dante piped up, "I'd just arrived in town and wanted something to drink; next thing I know, there's a blonde bombshell punching anyone that came at her. One of them managed to sneak up behind her, so I jumped in."
Yang clasped his shoulder, "this guy fought almost as well as I did, and he didn't even use a weapon or his Semblance!"
Nora took this moment to pop into view and gasp, "you were in a bar-brawl without me?!"
Dante rolled his eyes, "you were in another food coma, I was just clearing my head."
Nora glowered, "please tell me you didn't meet any other girls."
Now it was Dante's turn to scratch his neck, "well, there were these twins and I thought I saw a cute umbrella girl for a second…"
Nora growled briefly, but then started zipping around looking Yang and Ruby over before giving Dante a thumbs up.
"What's that mean?" Ruby asked.
Dante pinched the bridge of his nose and then readjusted his sunglasses, "I'll explain later."
Yang then turned to her sister, "well, you seem to be having a good first day."
Ruby scoffed, "you mean since you ditched me and I exploded?!"
Yang sucked air through her teeth, "yikes, meltdown already?"
Ruby stomped her foot, "no, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school! There was some fire and I… I think some ice…"
There was an awkward silence before Yang replied, "are you being sarcastic?"
Dante softly punched Nora's shoulder to get her to stop snickering. "She's not kidding, Yang," he said, "she sneezed on some Fire Dust and set off a chain reaction, but it wasn't really her fault."
Ruby nodded, "I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage and she yelled at me…" she went on and completely failed to realize that Weiss had quietly come up behind her, "… and I felt really, really bad and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me-"
"YOU!" Weiss snapped, causing Ruby to squeak in fright and jump into Dante's arms which in turn caused him to blush as he instinctively caught her. "Oh gods," Ruby cried, not realizing who was holding her, "It's happening again!"
"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" Weiss sneered.
"Oh my gods," Yang said softly, "you really exploded."
"It was an accident!" Ruby pleaded before realizing whose arms she was in and practically teleported back to the ground, "that was an accident!"
Instead of replying, Weiss shoved a pamphlet into Ruby's face that read 'Dust for Dummies'.
"The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible-" was all Weiss was able to recite before Dante snatched the pamphlet and handed it to Nora. Without a word, Nora shoved it into her mouth and ground her teeth so fast that the pamphlet was shredded like a wood-chipper.
"Wanna try that again, snowflake?" Dante glared.
"What do you want me to say?" Weiss said in exasperation, "'do you want to paint our nails, try on clothes, and talk about cute boys?'"
Dante smirked, "as long as I'm a topic in that conversation, yes."
This got Weiss to flounder for the second time that day.
Before anything else could be said, everyone turned to the stage at the sound of a microphone turning on.
Walking into view was a middle-aged man with short silvery hair clad in a black and green suit. In one hand was a cane that he didn't seem to actually need and a pair of tiny spectacles rested on his nose.
Not far behind him was a woman with blonde hair kept in a bun that was maybe a little too well kept with moon rimmed glasses that enhanced her piercing green eyes. She was wearing a mostly buttoned flowing white shirt, a tight black pencil skirt and matching thigh-high boots.
What made Dante arch an eyebrow was the cape she was wearing that seemed slightly out of place with the rest of her outfit. It was black on the outside and purple on the inside, but what was most peculiar was how it was designed to end in strips with arrowheads at the end. Almost as if they were devil tails.
Dante recognized them as Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch, the Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress of Beacon Academy.
Ozpin approached the microphone and adjusted his glasses, "I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction."
This got some of the students to start whispering to each other.
"You assume knowledge will free you of this," Ozpin went on, "but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."
He nodded to Glynda as he walked away and she stepped up to speak, "you will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."
As the students began to disperse, Yang spoke up, "he seemed kind of… off."
Ruby nodded in agreement, "it's almost like he wasn't even there."
"Sounded like a wake-up call to me," Dante said, "most kids that go to the Academies think that what they learn here will make them superheroes, but there's no greater teacher than experience."
He looked at them all one last time, "well, better get settled in. See ya round."
With that, Dante and Nora split off from the others, leaving the three with thoughtful expressions.

As night settled in, Dante and Nora were snuggling by a window in the ballroom.
Dante still wore his green shirt, but had taken off his jacket and boot along with trading his jeans and sunglasses for some comfy shorts and a sleep mask.
Nora's pajamas consisted of a black t-shirt with the word 'boop' on it, the first half colored white and the second half colored pink to match the pair of short-shorts she wore.
She was already snoring quietly with an arm and a leg draped over Dante.
He was just about to nod off when he heard two familiar voices coming towards him, though it sounded like one of them was being dragged along.
"Hel-looooo!" Yang greeted in a singsong voice, "I believe you two may know each other!"
Dante was about to reply when another familiar voice beat him to it.
"Aren't you… that girl that exploded?" Asked the black-haired girl from before.
"You can just call me Ruby," said girl muttered.
"Okay," came the other girl's voice, clearly uninterested in talking.
Seeing as he wasn't part of the conversation and wouldn't be able to fall asleep with the noise, Dante just shut his eyes and listened to the back-and-forth.
"What are you doing?"
"I don't know, help me!"
"So… what's your name?"
"Blake."
"Well Blake. I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister! I like your bow!"
"Thanks."
"It goes great with your… pajamas!"
"Right…"
"Nice night, huh?"
"Yes, it's lovely. Almost as lovely as this book… that I will continue to read… as soon as you leave."
"Yeah, this girl's a lost cause."
"What's it about?"
"Huh?"
"Your book. Does it have a name?"
"Well, it's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body."
"Heh," Dante chuckled, causing at least one of the girls to flinch judging from the sound of it, "boy, can I relate to that."
"First sunglasses, now a sleep mask?" Yang asked, "you got a vision problem or something?"
Dante just smirked, "everyone needs a trademark, right? Like your hair, Ruby's cloak, or Blake's bow."
There was a brief silence until Nora snorted and Ruby spoke up, "how's she still asleep?"
Dante stroked her side, causing her to nuzzle into his chest while muttering about pancakes. "She's a really heavy sleeper," he replied, "nothing short of the smell of food can wake her up."
"Got room for one more?" Yang asked teasingly.
Too bad Dante also knew how to play this game and stretched out his other arm.
"By all means, hot stuff," he replied smugly, "jump on in."
"I'm never going to finish this book, am I?" Blake sighed.
"I love books," Ruby said kindly, "Yang used to read to me every night before bed. Stories of heroes and monsters... They're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress!"
For the first time ever, Blake actually chuckled, "and why is that? Hoping you'll live 'happily ever after?'"
"Well, I'm hoping we all will," Ruby said innocently, "as a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books: someone who fought for what was right, and protected people who couldn't protect themselves!"
"That's… very ambitious for a child," Blake replied. It sounded as if what Ruby said had resonated with her, but then she sighed, "unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairytale."
"That doesn't mean dreams still can't come true," Dante pointed out.
"Yeah," Ruby agreed, "that's why we're here: to make it better."
"Oh, I'm so proud of my baby sister!" Yang cooed and presumably scooped up Ruby in a hug because Dante heard her groan before hearing the sounds of a struggle.
It lasted for a few seconds before an unfortunately familiar voice made them stop.
"What in the world is going on here?!" Weiss snapped, "don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?!"
Dante raised his hand, "I really don't mind listening to the voices of pretty girls, but I do need my six hours."
"Oh no, not you again!" Both Weiss and Yang said at the same time.
Dante then stretched his shoulders and sighed as he went back to dozing off to Weiss starting another argument.
"Guys, she's right: people are trying to sleep!"
"Oh, now you're on my side!"
"I was always on your side!"
"Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice!"
"She's a hazard to my health!"
The last thing Dante heard before nodding off was someone blowing out a candle.

Dante's black void was suddenly engulfed by a white light. He was still lying down, but he felt his head resting on something other than a pillow.
The first thing he noticed was that he was under a large cherry tree full of blossoms. It seemed to be the only thing in the white void except when the petals that fell off hit the ground, they created a ripple as if landing in water.
Dante was trying to figure out if he was wet or dry when he noticed another figure looming over him.
Looking down on him was an absolutely beautiful woman. She had long hair, red as blood, but bright blue eyes full of life. Her figure was of a mature young woman, lithe and svelte in all the right places. A white dress adorned her, amplifying her creamy pale peach colored skin.
It was only then that Dante realized his head was resting in her lap and he smiled, "hey, Tia."
She smiled and bent down to kiss his forehead, "hello, my love."
Tia caressed Dante's cheek and let out a soft giggle, "barely a day in Beacon and you're already making such lovely friends."
Dante smirked, "and you didn't have anything to do with all of them being girls?"
"Oh my dear, sweet, naive host," Tia put a finger under Dante's chin, "you of all people know that's not how I work."
She emphasized her point by booping Dante on the nose with the same finger.
"I don't bring girls to you," Tia went on, "I can only amplify whatever feelings for you they already have."
Dante rolled his eyes, "you know how I feel about brainwashing, Tiamat."
Her smile never faltered, "but it isn't brainwashing, dearest Dante. I'm simply giving them the little push they need to be happy."
Now it was Dante's turn to smile, "just because you're the manifestation of my aura doesn't mean you have to latch onto every girl I find attractive."
Tiamat raised a delicate eyebrow as her smile took on a more sinister angle, "and miss the chance to see you turn the knees of that Schnee girl to jelly whenever you can?"
Dante laughed softly, "alright, she's an exception."
He sighed and got more comfortable, "looks like this is going to be an academia to remember."
Tiamat chuckled, "that it is, my love. That it is."
Author's Note:
And that's a wrap!
Now I want to get something out of the way:
While I admit that this is a harem fic and more likely than not, the female characters will end up with Dante, I want to make it crystal clear that there will still be plenty of male characters in this. Ozpin, Port, Oobleck, Qrow, Ironwood, Tai, Adam, Mercury, and pretty much all of the other essential male characters are completely safe and will not be touched unless I feel it would make a better story.
I just felt that this story would benefit from having more female students/staff for Dante to flirt with, but they won't just be eye candy (metaphorically speaking) or fan service. They will be just as important and prominent as the characters they're replacing.
If you have a problem with that, too bad because this is still my story.
The idea for replacing guys with girls came from the legendary MHA story Total Command, but I'm not going to be straight up gender-swapping anyone.
As for who I'm bringing in… well, introducing all the new girls is gonna be a very gradual process like how the other characters were introduced in the original series. I'm not just opening a can and dumping a bunch of girls into Dante's lap all at once… as entertaining as that would be.
For those of you who are wondering, I based Dante off of the main character in the Divine Comedy. You know, the guy that took a tour through Hell and made it through the other side.
The next chapter will be both parts of The First Step. However, I can't guarantee any release dates or regular updates due to my autism, but this is the first story I've written in a long time that feels like it could go somewhere.
Anyway, I feel like I've kept you here long enough so feel free to favorite, follow, and/or review. All I ask is that you keep things friendly and professional, both in your praise and your critiques. Suggestions are always welcome, just keep in mind that I might not see or reply to every single review or message.
That said,
Later Bros!
