City of Vale

It was a bright and sunny day in Vale. Ruby Rose, leader of Team RWBY, had gone into the shopping area to look around. She would've invited her other teammates, but Weiss wanted to stay inside and study for Oobleck's upcoming test; Blake had gone out to the library with Sun which she claimed wasn't a date as the monkey Faunus wanted to try this reading thing finally Blake kept talking about, and Yang who at first teased Blake about making sure not to make out behind the bookcases went out for a ride on bumblebee to test out some new parts that her sister claimed supped up her ride which left Ruby all by herself. Hence, she chose to go into town for some shopping.

"Man, this is so boring. Plus, I haven't found anything worth getting yet. At this rate, my entire trip will have been a bust."

Ruby noticed a shop she never saw before. It was a simple brick shop with a wooden door, and the building was lined with beautiful gold and an eye a few feet above the door. Seeing no one was entering the shop, Ruby pushed it open. Upon entering the shop, Ruby was greeted by walls lined with small deck boxes and cards in glass display cases.

"Wow, I never knew Vale had a card shop like this look at all these."

Ruby zipped around the store via her semblance as her eyes became stars at all the unique and strange cards on display.

"Oh wow! Lookatthisonewhataboutthatoneholycats!"

However, three cards on display drew Ruby in that being three cards that had glorious rainbow foil finishes.

"Woah, what are you three?"

Ruby leaned in to further examine the cards as she went from left to right, and starting the first card on the left was a giant golden dragon that appeared to be composed of or covered in golden metal. It had a saurian posture and bird-like features; its head and neck were sculpted to resemble a bird of prey, with feather-like ornaments on each side of its head and at the elbows and a jagged cone surrounding its neck. Its wings had the appearance of being feathered.

Looking to her right, the next card had an image of a giant, serpentine, red-skinned, black-bellied dragon with spikes running down its body. Its wings were bat-like in form, with two thumb claws. The head has two mouths; the bottom jaw of the smaller top set is part of the top jaw of the larger set. The last tooth on each cheek was more significant than the others. The beast's head was crested with four spikes protruding horizontally and two larger ones from the back of the head curving vertically; the sapphire was nestled at the front of the crest. Its tail crest is shaped similarly but with a single flattened spike at the tip rather than two spikes. It had short limbs with three-toed feet.

The last card Ruby set her eyes on wasn't a beast like the previous two, but it was a person if you could even call it that. The image on the card was a massive muscular blue-skinned humanoid. It had simple, triangular wings about the same height, and large shoulder pauldrons had two large spikes protruding vertically. The forearm armor had spikes protruding at the elbows, and its groin and knees were armored with diamond-shaped plates, while a shield-shaped plate covered the posterior. Its hands were more human, with spiked, sheath-like claws covering its fingertips and small diamond-shaped plates covering the knuckles. Its head was covered in spikes; twin spikes jut from its cheeks, long spikes sideways from the back of its head, two from the temples, a short spike on the chin, and a tri-spiked crest on the top of its head. The mouth on it was lipless, with pointed white teeth. It had red eyes, and the same sapphire as the other two had on its forehead. Ruby read the names of the three cards from left to right.

"The Winged Dragon of Ra, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and Obelisk the Tormentor. You guys look so cool!"

Ruby did a brief twirl in the shop.

"This whole shop is amazing! These cards are so awesome and detailed! Why has no one else heard of this place or been inside it before?"

"That is because they were not deemed worthy my child."

"AH!"

Ruby jumped in surprise at the sound of a different voice behind her as she then turned around to the source of the new voice.

The man in question was a tall and thin man with blue eyes and a bald head. He was dressed in white and cream robes with a turban on his head and orange shoes, and on his neck was a strange golden key around his neck, and his ears were pierced with golden rings hanging from a string.

"Ah, I apologize for startling you, child. I am Shadi."

"O-Oh, nice to meet you. My name is…"

"Ruby Rose, correct?"

"H-How did you know my name?"

Shadi walked around Ruby and went behind the counter he pulled out a deck box and began sorting through the cards inside.

"Fate had foretold me of your arrival, young Ruby."

"Really? Fate told you I'd find your shop?"

"Yes. Is that so surprising?"

Ruby wasn't sure how to respond as she wanted to say anything to break the silence; luckily Shadi did it for her as his eyes drifted to the silver rose on her combat skirt.

"Tell me, young Ruby, the silver rose on your skirt did you make that yourself?"

Ruby's eyes drifted to her silver rose emblem and gently touched as her face adopted a sad and mournful expression.

"N-No, I didn't it belonged to my mom. It's the last thing I have of her."

"I see. I'm sorry about your mother, dear Ruby. Tell me does that emblem hold anything else important to you."

"Yeah. It holds her promise."

"I see."

"Hey, Shadi, can I ask you something?"

"Of course, Miss Rose. What question ails you?"

"Well, first off you can just call me Ruby hearing you say miss in front of it makes me feel like an old lady. Second, you said fate had allowed me to enter your shop. What did you mean by that?"

Shadi closed his eyes before he started explaining to Ruby.

"I was shown a vision of a darkness in human form befalling this world, but a person with eyes of silver would deliver this world from the dark."

Ruby's eyes went wide at Shadi's description of the vision.

"W-Wait, so you think that person is me?"

"You are but one piece of the puzzle, young Ruby."

Shadi then gestured to the rest of his shop with an open arm.

"You are free to browse and get any cards your heart desires. The boxes are on the left, and individual cards are on the right."

"Thank you, Shadi sir."

Shadi smiled.

"Just Shadi is fine young Rose."

Ruby smiled as well as she began browsing the store and seeing all kinds of cards from Blue Eyes white dragon to Decode Talker, but then her eyes settled on a deck box calling to her. The box was light blue on the sides, and the back was also light blue, with the front of the deck box being a dark blue with the color going to a lightish green, and in the middle were several rings and a brilliant flash of silver in the middle. Ruby opened up the deck box and pulled out cards, some of them being Max Warrior, Sonic Chick, Junk Synchron, and Stardust Dragon, but the last card in the back of the deck box got her attention as it was a card that had a silver border on it and the image on the card was a sizeable glorious dragon with a thin yet muscular black body with massive silver armor and in the middle of the silver armor was a chest piece with a green gem in the middle. Around the dragon were those rings again like on the box, but there were more, and they were all different colors.

"Oh wow. Shooting Quasar Dragon, huh?"

Ruby looked over the deck box and the cards inside before choosing.

"Shadi. I want this one."

Ruby presented the deck box to Shadi, confirming her choice she went to go for her wallet to grab the lien for it, but Shadi stopped her with an extended hand outward.

"There's no need for currency Ruby take it as my gift to you."

"Seriously? Thanks so much, Shadi."

With that, Ruby tucked the deck box away and left the shop with a smile on her face all the while, Shadi watched her retreating figure. He then aimed his hands and subtly raised his Millenium Key at Ruby's silver rose emblem as it glowed a silver color before fading.

'May the gods watch over you and grant you strength against the darkness to come, young Ruby Rose.'

Team RWBY Dorm

Night had fallen on Vale as Ruby and the rest of her team were vast asleep with Ruby's new deck box sitting neatly on the nightstand, but then the deck box began to glow bright silver to the confusion of Team RWBY.

"Whose scroll is on?"

"Can someone turn the light off?"

"Ugh. Ruby, take care of the light so we can sleep."

Ruby got up after complaints from Blake, Yang, and Weiss Ruby got up and went to see if she had left her scroll on, but to her surprise, the glow was coming from the deck box. Ruby opened the deck box and found the source of the light was Shooting Quasar Dragon, to her confusion.

"What is it? Why're you glowing, Quasar?"

Ruby then noticed in the corner of her peripheral vision she noticed a dark glow as she saw a hooded figure outside the window pointing at her deck box. Ruby looked at the figure, confused, unsure who this person was but it was clear they probably didn't have good intentions. She dressed, grabbed the deck box, put Shooting Quasar back in the box, and quietly left the dorm room. Ruby, who had now moved to the courtyard, looked around for the hooded figure she saw out her dorm room window but couldn't find him.

"Was I just seeing things?"

"Oh, I'd hardly say that, little girl."

Ruby immediately whipped around to see the hooded figure standing right behind her his voice dripping with menace and malice.

"You didn't see things, but I'm not here to chat. You have something that I want and I plan on taking it."

Before Ruby could react the hooded figure snapped and they were both gone only to reappear in the emerald forest on the very outskirts of Vale.

"Surprised? Don't because in a moment you won't be feeling anything."

Before Ruby could react she was bound by several chains as a sizeable dog-like beast with black and dark purple fur appeared behind him.

"Oh don't mind me pet here. Unchained Abomination just enjoys seeing you squirm like me plus I promised him a snack afterwards. Now to claim my prize."

Ruby tried her best but she could break the chains as the hooded man got closer she kept trying but she couldn't get free.

'I-I can't get free. Somebody! Anybody! Please help me!'

The hooded figure's hands finally grasped hold of her deck box until he noticed her eyes were wet with tears he then took a big inhale of the air.

"Holy shit you're crying. That's hilarious and that smell. Ah, I love the smell of fear."

He snapped his fingers commanding Abomination as the giant beast walked towards Ruby.

"Abomination…snack time."

The giant beast's gaze bore into Ruby as it prepared to sink its fangs into her the young silver-eyed girl heard a voice speak to her.

'It's okay Ruby. I'll take over.'

Before Ruby could respond her emblem began moving before a bright silver glow brightened the area to the man's confusion.

Sitting in his office just below the Beacon Tower was the academy headmaster Ozpin who had spent most of his night doing paperwork as he had promised Gylnda a break from always doing it for him.

"My word. How did you make this seem so easy Glynda?"

"I only made it look easy because I had so much practice doing it."

Glynda Goodwitch walked in with a smile as she gave Ozpin a mug of the hot chocolate he always enjoyed drinking.

"Here I figured you'd want some after doing nothing but paperwork all day."

She set the mug down on his desk.

"You know Ozpin you didn't have to do all the paperwork I would've gladly taken half to lighten your load."

Ozpin let out a low chuckle before he took a sip of his hot chocolate and then set his mug down.

"It's fine Glynda besides consider it payback for all the work you've done for me over the years. It's the least I can do."

Before the two of them could continue their conversation the bright flash of silver light stole their attention immediately.

"Glynda all the students are resting in their rooms correct?!"

"Y-Yes they were all accounted for."

"Where's Miss Rose?"

It was quiet for a half second before both headmaster and headmistress bolted out of the room and made their way towards the silver flash hoping that Ruby Rose was not in danger or worse injured.

"Ah! My eyes! What the hell is that?!"

"YUGIOH!"

Before he could react the figure found the deck box gone from his hands and the chains that had the girl ensnared broken easily and a figure stood in the pillar of silver light replacing Ruby Rose who he no longer saw.

Instead in her place stood a woman who was the spitting image of Ruby as they both shared the same silver eyes, fair skin complexion, and gradient black-into-red hair. Her attire was completely different as she wore a one-piece red dress with white frills under the skirt and exposed shoulders, separate black sleeves with red and black bracers, and a separate black skirt that covered most of the red one underneath. On her back was a less bulky version of a white cloak with a red inner liner, which was secured by a pair of black leather straps with leaf-shaped pins that attached to the cloak at the shoulders before crossing above her chest and eventually attaching to a set of thick black belts around her waist. Around her neck was the same silver rose emblem pendant Ruby wore and covering her legs were a pair of grey leggings and a pair of black high-heeled boots with red highlights on her feet. Attached to her hip was a black and gold axe. The long handle of the axe was colored black, with gold metal attached to it, forming a gold curved blade. Near the axe's blade was a trigger for the weapon, indicating that the other edge of the weapon serves as a rifle.

"And just who in the hell are you?"

"I'm Summer…Summer Rose."

"Never heard of you. Where's the girl?"

"I took over and as for Ruby…well you won't be laying another disgusting hand on my daughter."

"Your daughter?"

The hooded man then started laughing like a maniac to the point where Summer looked at him with her right eye raised in confusion.

"Sorry. Sorry, but this day got 1,000 times better. Seeing how you're standing in for your "daughter" all I have to do is beat you take Shooting Quasar then kill the girl and I'll be on my way."

Summer narrowed her silver eyes at the hooded figure pissed off at his declaration mainly at him killing Ruby.

"Take off the hood and look me in the eyes when you say that. Unless you don't have the guts to threaten people from the safety of the dishrag you're wearing."

"Hmph, fine."

The figure tossed the hooded cloak off him to reveal he was not a man but a Grimm. He had a bone mask and a body made of a black substance. His bone mask was in the shape of an undefiable creature and his arms and legs were somewhat thin with bone parts on both. Instead of being the standard red color of most grimm, his eyes were a bright mixture of sunset orange and sickly yellow.

"Call me Pluto and you'd better prepare Summer Rose because this is one duel you won't forget!"

Pluto then snapped his fingers as something began to grow and take shape on his arm the object in question was a duel disk in the shape of a grimm called the apathy. The eyes of the apathy duel disk then began glowing as a giant magic circle appeared under the two of them its colors being a mixture of blood red and violet purple. The circle then erected a dark purple barrier around the two of them.

"What's the point of the barrier? Need a safety net, Pluto?"

"Hardly, Rose. Consider this a tune-up to our duel. Now thanks to this barrier this duel will follow rules similar to the shadow games of old with a twist."

"You're psychotic."

"That is a three-syllable word for ideas too big for little minds to understand. Now I assume you have a duel disk tucked away somewhere in the stripper getup you call an outfit."

Summer grabbed her weapon Sundered Rose and pressed a button on the bottom next to the trigger then tossed her weapon in the air as Sundered Rose began shifting and changing Summer extended her right arm as Sundered Rose landed precisely on her arm in the form of a duel disk.

"Hmph showoff."

Pluto reached into his chest and pulled out his deck from the black liquid that was his body while Summer grabbed her deck from the deck box on her hip with both duelists loading their respective decks into the slots on their disks.

"Let's Duel!"

Summer Rose: 4000 Life points

Pluto: 4000 Life Points

They drew their respective five-card hands and then looked back at each other.

"Go first Rose and hope you don't make any mistakes."

"Fine."

Summer looked at her opening hand before coming to a decision.

"Fine, first off I play the spell card One for One. I send my Speed Warrior from my hand to my graveyard to special summon one level 1 monster from my hand or my deck. So I choose to summon from my deck boost warrior in defense mode."

Summer discarded Speed Warrior then her duel disk shuffled her deck giving her boost warrior she then summoned him out on her duel disk.

"Now I summon out Junk Synchron in attack mode."

Junk Synchron appeared on her field next to boost warrior.

"And now that he's out I can use his effect to summon out a level 2 or lower monster in my graveyard and I bring back my Speed Warrior I discarded earlier in defense mode thanks to One for One so welcome back Speed Warrior."

A small circle of blue light appeared next to Junk Synchron Speed Warrior returned to the field as he took a knee.

"Now I tune my Junk Synchron with my Boost Warrior and Speed Warrior to call forth my Junk Gardna!"

Junk Synchron transformed into three green rings that started scanning Boost Warrior and Speed Warrior before the two of them Boost Warrior became one star while speed warrior became two stars for a total of three stars as a bright pillar of light engulfed the three stars.

"When wishes of steel gather round the messenger of the gale, that wish will become an invincible shield! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Come out, Junk Gardna!"

From the bright light of the synchro rings came a massive metal warrior clad in green armor with dark yellow highlights as the mighty monster was placed in defense mode.

Pluto scoffed at the arrival of Junk Gardna.

"Hmph. Not Impressed."

Summer narrowed her eyes at the grimm.

"I set a card face down and end my turn."

"My turn then…I draw."

Pluto surveyed his opening hand before coming to a decision.

"First I'll summon out my Tour Guide From the Underworld then activate her effect."

A little girl with red hair and matching red eyes in a conductor's outfit appeared on the field she did a little salute wave.

"When she's summoned I can special summon 1 Level 3 fiend monster from my hand or my deck but its effects are negated and I can't use it for a synchro summon. So I choose to special summon from my deck my Doomdog Octhros in defense mode."

On the field was a small black and red demon dog next to Tour Guide growling at Junk Gardna.

"I place two cards face down and end my turn."

Summer looked at Pluto suspiciously despite all his talking earlier he was playing very passively which had her on guard.

"What's wrong Rose? You look uneasy. Scared knowing your end is near?"

"Hmph, you wish. I draw…I set a card face down then switch Junk Gardna to attack mode and activate its effect."

"What effect?"

Summer smirked.

"Once per turn I change the battle position of any monster on the field so I choose your Doomdog Octhros.

Junk Gardna then slammed its arms together sending out a shockwave and forcing Octhros into attack mode.

"Now Junk Gardna attack his Doomdog!"

Junk Gardna began running towards Doomdog as the little devil hound tried to fight back but in the end, it was blitzed by Junk Gardna and destroyed.

(1400-800=600. 4000-600=3400.)

Pluto:3400 LP

"Ah, Thanks for that Rose."

"What are you on about Pluto."

"You didn't know? When my Doomdog Octhros is sent to the graveyard I can add one Level 8 fiend monster from my deck to my hand."

"Wait? Tour Guide negated your Doomdogs effect when it was special summoned."

"You'd be right except the effect of Doomdog Octhros is a graveyard effect."

The tangible spirit of Doomdog then appeared before heading to his deck and fishing out level 8 with its mouth giving the level 8 to Pluto.

"Ah thank you little hellhound. Now Rose are you done?"

Summer let out a sigh before she looked at her hand.

"Yeah, I'm done I set a card face down and end my turn."

"Hold on Rose before this turn fully comes to an end I activate my facedown Destiny Board."

"What does that do?"

"I'm so glad you asked. See One per turn during your end phase I can set one spirit message from my hand or deck in order with the letters I, N, A, and L. If I complete the Destiny Board you'll lose the duel automatically."

Summer's eyes went wide with shock.

"What?"

"Hey don't act so surprised Rose. All you have to do is beat me before that happens and I'm sure a skilled duelist such as yourself should have no problem beating me before the Destiny Board is fully set."

Pluto's sarcasm wasn't lost on Summer but she knew she had to win before Destiny Board was complete.

"Like I said before you activated Destiny Board. I end my turn."

"And now that you have Rose the first spirit message "I" is now on the board. You have three more turns."

"I draw."

Pluto looked at his new card before smiling.

"First off I summon Unchained Twins-Rakea then activate its effect by destroying one card I control I can't special summon any monsters that aren't fiends for the rest of the turn. So by using the effect I destroy my set card."

The trap card on Pluto's field got destroyed immediately as Rakea hit the field but Pluto was far from done.

"Now I activate the effect of my card that I sent to the graveyard the Trap Card: Abominable Chamber of the Unchained. Now normally if I had activated it I would've been able to summon an Unchained Monster from my hand or graveyard but since it was still set and destroyed by a card effect I can now special summon an Unchained Monster from my deck so I summon out Unchained Soul of Disaster in defense mode."

Pluto's duel disk shuffled his deck until it gave him Soul of Disaster he grabbed it and summoned the beast on the field in defense mode and what appeared before Summer was a sizeable blue beast its body was entirely made of fire and the body was wrapped in bronze chains.

"Now then since my trap card was destroyed by card effect I can now special summon from my hand my Abominable Unchained Soul."

The grimm duel disk once again shuffled his deck before the card slid out of the deck as Pluto grabbed it and summoned it to the field. The monster in question was a man who wore all yellow his hands pulsed with purple magic then behind him was a projection of an Unchained monster.

"Now I link away my Unchained Soul of Disaster with my Unchained Twins-Rakea to call forth a new monster."

Soul of Rage and Rakea became red energy as they swirled into a circuit board pattern with arrows in every direction they went into the top and bottom arrows.

"I link summon my link level two Unchained Soul of Rage!"

With the circuit complete Unchained Soul of Rage came from the Link Board was another beast with a body of blue fire wrapped in bronze chains.

"Now it's time! Unchained Soul of Rage atta-"

Before Pluto could finish his command out from the woods, Glynda and Ozpin were both puzzled by the scene before them but felt their hearts almost stop when they saw Summer standing before them alive and well.

"Summer Rose, is it you?"

"I-I can't believe it. You're alive?"

Summer noticed the looks on their faces as she saw the blonde woman was on the verge of tears with her emerald eyes getting misty while the older man with the cane although stoic could see he was beyond happy to see her as a smile wanted to form on his stoic visage.

Pluto let out a low chuckle.

"Friends of yours Rose?"

"T-That's a Grimm and it's standing on two legs a-and talking?"

'Did Salem make this one? No not I doubt even she has the potential to make a grimm this intelligent.'

"Well Rose it doesn't matter if they're friends of yours or not they're in the way and I can't have that."

Pluto snapped his fingers as multiple black pools appeared spawning multiple grimm from Alpha Beowolves, Berginals, Boarbatusks, and a Deathstalker.

"Pluto! Leave them out of this! You and I are dueling!"

"Hey don't get mad at me Rose if anything blame them for meddling where they didn't need to be."

Summer watched in horror as those two people were going to become food for those black monsters because of her. Still, then to her surprise Glynda seemingly stopped the group of Beowolves with a wave of her riding crop catching them in midair before snapping their necks as they went limp. Their bodies became black dust meanwhile Ozpin easily dodged the Grimm's attacks and dealt the killing blows to the grimm with ease.

"Summer don't be concerned with us. Just do what you have to do to beat that grimm."

Summer looked between Glynda and Ozpin and saw that she didn't have to worry about their wellbeing which meant she could focus on what mattered at the moment: beating Pluto.

"Thank you. I owe you two. Now Pluto I believe we have a duel to continue."

"You're right Rose we do. So Unchained Soul of Rage destroy that pathetic Junk Gardna!"

Pluto's monster let out a loud howl before it sprinted toward Junk Gardna intent on sinking its fangs into the stalwart Junk monster.

"I knew you'd be intent on going for the attack right away Pluto which is why I activate my trap: Spirit Force! When Spirit Force is activated it makes the damage that I'd take during become 0 and not only that but I can grab a warrior typer tuner monster from my graveyard so long as it has 1500 or fewer defense points so I'll grab my Junk Synchron."

Summer's duel disk spit out Junk Synchron from her graveyard slot as she grabbed it and added it back to her hand Soul of Rage went for the attack on Junk Gardna.

"Unchained Soul of Rage lay waste to her Junk Gardna!"

Soul of Rage let out a wicked howl, as it rushed Junk Gardna before it, sunk its fangs into Gardna, and took a massive bite out of it the explosion knocked Summer back into the barrier as she cried out in pain but thanks to spirit force her lifepoints remained untouched.

Summer Rose: 4000 LP

"AH!"

Summer screamed in pain as her back collided with the barrier before she fell face-first into the dirt. Her body was dirtied and marked with some small marks but she got back up easily but Pluto wasn't done.

"I'm not done yet, Rose. Attack her life points directly Tour Guide."

"Not yet I activate the effect of Junk Gardna when it's sent to the graveyard. I pick one monster on your field so I pick your Abominable Unchained Soul and move it to defense mode."

"Cute rose but it doesn't matter since Tour Guide will still slam you for 1000 points of damage."

Summer looked to see Tour Guide skipping towards her before she blew her whistle as Summer was trampled by a group of demons, and despite the situation, the scene itself was very comical.

(4000 - 1000 = 3000.)

"*Huff* *Huff* That's not enough to knock me out, Pluto. Try again."

"I will but before I end my turn I'll link summon again and I'll link away my Unchained Soul of Rage who I can count as two link materials with my Tour Guide to call forth my Unchained Soul of Anguish."

The link grid appeared again as Soul of Rage and Tour Guide became red energy as Soul of Rage filled in the bottom left and bottom right arrows while Tour Guide filled the top arrow as from the link square came a beast similar to Unchained Soul of Rage except its body was pure red so were it eyes with chains on its body.

Summer knew that if she lost this duel this grimm as she just found out that's what his species was called would kill Ruby and the people trying to help her. She couldn't let that happen to either of them.

"I draw."

Summer was in complete disarray as her life points were low and her body was bruised but then she saw what she drew and realized she'd have one shot to turn the tides.

"First I play the spell card Arrive in Light! When I play this I can place 1 level 1 dragon monster from either my hand or my deck on top of my deck."

Summer's duel disk shuffled her deck till it placed Majestic Dragon on top of her deck.

"Also thanks to Arrive in Light neither of us can return Stardust Dragon or a Synchro monster that mentions Stardust Dragon in its text from the field to the Extra Deck."

"*scoff* So what? Do you think one card is enough to turn this entire duel around Rose?"

"You know Pluto. You need to wait before I finish talking 'cause this combo's just getting started."

"What?"

"I now activate my face-down. The trap card: Descending Lost Star! Descending Lost Star lets me bring back a synchro monster from my graveyard and summons it in defense mode however the downside is that its effects are negated and its defense points become zero also its level goes down by one. So, I bring back my Junk Gardna who now becomes a level five."

The trap card glowed as Junk Gardna appeared from the card before moving its arms in front of itself in defense mode.

"The last effect of Arrive in Light activates and whenever a synchro monster is special summoned except during our damage phase I can either special summon a tuner from my hand or draw a card and I choose to draw a card."

Summer looked at the new card she drew and smiled.

"Now I summon Junk Synchron out and use his effect to summon out a level two or lower monster from my graveyard in defense mode with its effects negated so welcome back boost warrior."

Junk Synchron waved its hand as Boost Warrior reappeared next to the tuner monster.

"Now prepare yourself Pluto as I'm gonna tune my level three junk synchron with my now level five Junk Gardna to call forth the monster that's gonna win me this duel."

Junk Synchron pulled the lever on its side as its back engines revved up before it became three green synchro circles scanning Junk Gardna as it became five bright stars before they were engulfed in a pillar of light.

"Clustering wishes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Soar, Stardust Dragon!"

From the pillar of light came the ace monster of Summer Rose; Stardust Dragon it caused Glynda and Ozpin to briefly stop fighting the beast to bask in its silver glory and only one word came to mind when they both laid eyes upon it.

'Beautiful.'

"Thanks to my synchro summon I use the other effect of Arrive in Light to special summon one tuner from my hand so I special summon Majestic Dragon to my field in attack mode."

"Psh. Big deal Rose while your stardust is mildly impressive and moderately strong even if you were to kill my Soul of Anguish my Abombinal will just destroy it next turn and wipe you out. So all that work was for nothing. How sad."

"You'd be right Pluto if I wasn't planning on doing a second synchro summon."

"What?!"

"Now I tune Stardust Dragon with Boost Warrior and Majestic Dragon to level up my cosmic friend."

Majestic Dragon became a single green synchro ring scanning Stardust Dragon and Boost Warrior as the 8 stars plus 1 lined up perfectly in the scanned body of Stardust Dragon.

"Gathering starlights will enlighten a new miracle! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Arrive in light, Majestic Star Dragon!"

From the bright pillar of synchro light emerged the evolved Stardust Dragon its brilliant silver light brightly illuminated the emerald forest as if a white star had descended to Remnant.

"It's time to show you, Pluto. Majestic Star Dragon destroy Plutos Abominable Unchained Soul with Shooting Blaster Sonic!"

Majestic Star Dragon flew high then reared its head back as it blasted a stream of blue cosmic energy and Abominable Unchained Soul due to it being in defense mode was easily disintegrated.

Pluto: 3400 LP

"I set a card face down and before I end my turn I play the equip spell, Silver Wing. I can equip this card to a level 8 or higher dragon-type synchro monster. While Majestic Star Dragon is equipped with Silver Wing it can't be destroyed by battle twice per turn and if Majestic Star Dragon would be destroyed by a card effect I can destroy Silver Wing instead."

Pluto had a wicked smile on his face.

"In that case, I'll chain the activation of Destiny Board to your silver wing equip spell. Since your turn is done and now the spirit message letter N is now on the board and that means your turns Rose are now at two left."

Destiny Board activated as it placed the following spirit message while Majestic Stardust Dragon stayed on her field.

Summers turn ended as it then passed to Pluto.

"I draw."

Pluto looked at the card he drew and scowled.

"I summon Fiendish Rhino Warrior in attack mode."

On Pluto's field was an armor-clad demon Rhino with a wicked sword.

"Now I'll link away for my last Unchained monster. I use Soul of Anguish as three link materials with Fiendish Rhino Warrior to call forth the beast of my Unchained monsters who rules over all! I link summon my Link-4 monster Unchained Abomination!"

Soul of Anguish became red energy as did Fiendish Rhino Warrior while Anguish filled in the bottom left, bottom, and bottom right arrow of the link square while Fiendish Rhino Warrior filled in the top arrow. Abomination burst from the Link square as it let out an almighty roar as the beast started down Stardust Dragon.

Summer pressed a button on Sundered Rose revealing her face-down card.

Abomination roared at Majestic Star Dragon and Majestic Star Dragon roared back as both monsters were eager for battle when suddenly both Summer and Pluto's duel disks cracked to their dismay.

"What?"

"What's happening?"

Pluto observed the scene as he looked between his Unchained Abomination and Summers Majestic Star Dragon whose wings were now glowing brighter due to silver wing before looking back at their duel disks.

'I see so that's what's happening.'

Pluto then raised his arm as the Apathy duel disk retracted and went back to a skull tattoo on his right shoulder.

"You're quitting Pluto?"

"No Rose I'm withdrawing. Surely you noticed when our duel disks cracked."

"What if I did?"

"If you did then you know that if our duel disks crack then we can't duel and had our duel progressed we would've lost our duel disks."

Summer looked down and Sundered Rose and noticed the visible cracks on her axe rifle hybrid transformed into a duel disk.

Pluto smiled as he snapped his fingers as his cloak reappeared.

"I was holding back you know."

Summer stared at the grimm.

"You're lying."

"Believe what you will just know you won't get lucky twice."

Pluto snapped his fingers again as the grimm got sucked back into a massive black pool on his hand.

"Rose, old man, and dominatrix witch until I cross your paths again and make you tremble in despair."

"Pluto!"

The grimm turned back seeing an angry Summer Rose.

"I promise you next we meet I will beat you and take off your head for threatening to kill my daughter."

"I'll look forward to watching you fail Rose. Tata for now."

With that Pluto disappeared under the cover of darkness leaving Summer alone with Glynda and Ozpin.

Summer then turned her attention to the two adults Glynda was still in disbelief as she went to hug her friend who she believed had died. However, Summer grabbed Sundered Rose which had transformed back to its axe mode from duel disk mode as she held her weapon to Glynda's neck to the shock and confusion of the headmaster and deputy headmistress.

"While I appreciate the assist you gave me against Pluto tell me this. Who the hell are you two and how do you know my name?"
