A/N: So sorry for those who liked the original story concept better but after my longer than planned hiatus I went back and reread what I wrote and felt I could do better. So I spent some of the time rewriting the first five/six chapters. As always reviews are love!

Chapter 1

Arelia's POV

The alley was bustling, with sights, sounds and colorful, shiny objects to look at for hours. We had just walked through the entrance from the Leaky Cauldron and walked through the archway. The sun was shining, and it felt like today was the day that everything was going to change.

My name is Arelia Lily Potter, and me? Well, I'm a half-blood.

But let's start from the beginning before I tell you more about the here and now!

I was born to James and Lily Potter (at least, that's what everyone tells me). When I was just a baby, I was sent to live with my horrid aunt and uncle, Petunia and Vernon Dursley and their fat bully son, Dudley.

Now, I could go into detail about how Potter-Hunting was Dud's favorite game, or how I lived in the cupboard under the stairs or the fact that I was treated like a slave; but I think we can gloss over all that and get to the exciting stuff!

It was barely a year ago when something strange and exciting happened to me. It was on my 10th birthday- (not that the Dursleys celebrated it or anything) and I woke up to a screen in front of my face with large blinking letters flashing across it.

Would you like to load your last saved game?

YES / NO

I'm kinda freaking out because I'm like 'what the heck is going on here?'

I ignore the message for a bit and get up and start making breakfast for my lovely *cue sarcasm* family and cautiously watch for their reactions as best I can without giving it away- But they don't seem to notice anything?

I get dismissed with a piece of toast and a glass of water from the tap and absentmindedly head to the park.

I'm swinging on the swing set, essentially pondering what I should do. I hover over the 'NO' option and I get a warning:

WARNING: If you press option 'NO' you will never find out who you truly are

That piqued my interest, of course like everyone else, I want to be someone someday. I want to leave the Dursleys and have a family of my own! So I change my decision to 'YES' … and nothing happens. lol

I know, I know-weird right?

So I just go about my day like normal, wander into the library passing by some Hammer Industry billboards being torn down, and start browsing the shelves absentmindedly, until it's time for me to make dinner while occasionally thinking about the strange message. Eventually I write it off as me just having imagined it.

Little did I know.

(?)'s POV

We watched as Arelia Potter finally fell asleep. It seems our plan is finally in motion. We will have our pawn.

Narrator's POV

Blue wisps of light seemed to flow in and around her body as she slept- a troubled expression on her face. Her mind was being enhanced with a magic unknown. The light start swirling around and around until it seemed like it reached a crescendo and light burst from the still form of Arelia Potter, Fate Changer.

Arelia's POV

So, I'm trying not to freak out. Remember how I rationalized away the screen and the glowing, blinking words yesterday?

Well, they're back- and not just that but they seem to have multiplied.

The first screen reads:

Welcome back, Arelia Potter

Would you like to download your previous gameplay knowledge?

YES / NO

To which I'm like WHAT THE HECK?

But I'm putting aside freaking out over the fact that I've lost my memory of this game once before, to look at the next screen:

Please download the items and materials for this new world:

[DOWNLOAD}

To which I couldn't contain myself and press, which leads to a loading bar:

0.1/1098786 items downloaded (approximately 1 hour left)

I turn my attention to the first screen and decided on 'YES.' I mean what's the worst that could happen?

Well, let me tell you what the worst that could happen is. First, there was nothing and then? Well, blinding pain in the form of a massive headache AND I felt like I was being tortured with a million electrical shocks.

Yeah, that sucked.

10/10 would not do again.

But when the pain fades and I can finally think. I start to 'relive' memories. My memories?

I remember being born in poverty, going to war- it was a world war? I guess now we would call it World War II. I was a nurse on the front lines. And then, I died. But I didn't? Some mysterious figures (which sounds shady AF) offered me a chance to go back and do it all again- to do good in a new world. A magical one. I guess they dropped me into the Harry Potter world-but a different one then I know? For one, Tony Stark exists in this world- which means the Avengers eventually will? But that's not all- I've started to see creepy, scary- and frankly should-not-be-real creatures roaming around with somehow no one noticing? It's a bit overwhelming.

I learned that I didn't just come back with just my memories. I had (well for lack of a better word) gamer abilities.

I know this because I got another pop-up notification:

Welcome to The Game

The Game is a system that allows you to track your progress in completing your destiny. It provides an advantage in that your skills, titles, and stats are quantified, giving YOU the chance to reach bigger and better heights.

The one rule of the game? TELL NO ONE.

Would you like to continue?

YES / NO

Obviously, video games did not exist in my old life. But I've managed to figure out the mechanics of the 'game.' But first, let me show you my current stats so I can show you what I mean:

Name: Arelia Lily Potter

Level: 1 (0/100)

Species: ?

HP: 1000

MP: 1000

(As your mana grows, so too does your HP, currently +100 for every level)

Active Debuffs:

Curse Scar (from ?, -50 MP/Hour)

Titles:

? (equipped)

[+10 to LUK, +5 to CHA)

Stats:

STR - 1

AGI - 1

DEX - 1

INT - 5

WIS - 3

LUK - 2 (+10)

CHA - 1 (+5)

Remaining stat points (currently three for every level increase): 0

Skills (Abilities That Otherwise Normal People Do NOT Have):

Observe (LVL 1)

Perks:

(Unlocks at Level 10)

Now, I know it sounds crazy, but my life is a freaking video game! With stats, perks, quests, and everything! The only weird thing is, I feel way weaker than before I had this system-maybe I need to start, as the kids say, 'grind some stats'?

And that's all I did for the next year or so, at least.

I played the tutorial (which I definitely took advantage of) and continued on. But the world became radically different. The neighbors became almost robot-like, they always said the same things but never seemed to notice? But Aunt Petunia was as terrible as ever.

I gained stat increases in STR by lifting heavy things, AGI by running, DEX from dodging Dudley, INT and WIS from reading books (and let me tell you skill books are the coolest thing ever!), I couldn't really increase LUK, but CHA was increased by just being nice to the NPC.

I didn't get many quests; it was just to help the neighbors mow the lawn or help with grocery bags- but it was something! Couple pounds here and there, some candies and XP!

I also got an epic inventory- unlimited pocket dimension for all the useless stuff I hoard!

I grinded my skills as much as I could but there was a limit to how much I could do in a day. Like, sure I could push myself to exhaustion but then I started losing HP, the minute I started to feel tired. But I noticed as I leveled up, I could for longer and faster. So here are my current stats:

Name: Arelia Lily Potter

Level: 9 (350/900)

Species: ?

HP: 1900

MP: 1900

(As your mana grows, so too does your HP, currently +100 for every level)

Active Debuffs:

Curse Scar (from ?, -50 MP/Hour)

Titles:

? (equipped)

[+10 to LUK, +5 to CHA)

Stats:

STR - 12

AGI - 13

DEX - 15

INT - 18

WIS - 14

LUK - 2 (+10)

CHA - 4 (+5)

Remaining stat points (currently three for every level increase): 27

Skills (Abilities That Otherwise Normal People Do NOT Have):

Observe (LVL 10)

Perks:

(Unlocks at Level 10)

Money: 15£

I decided to save my stat points since I'm still able to increase them without too much trouble, but I know in the future it will be pretty difficult to raise them. I'm still confused about the question marks though.

Which sparked a quest... lol

Quest Alert! Finally! Find Out Who You Truly Are (At Least in This World)

Find out more about your birth parents and the secrets in your blood!

Success:

You learn more about how your powers came to be!

+5000 XP

+?

Failure:

Bruh, you dead.

Would you like to accept?

YES / NO

I had slammed that 'YES'-in impulsive excitement of having my first major quest- but now I'm like- wait how do I do that?

Lucky for me, the avalanche of letters came- Hagrid arrived to save me!

And now we're all caught up! Back to Diagon Alley!
