4 years later..

It was near the end of the school year, less than 2 months till graduation. Bluey and her group had stayed together all throughout the years, with only Honey distancing away due to dual enrollment. Mackenzie was still fairly close to the group, specifically with Rusty, Jack, and Bluey. However he still kept in touch often with Bingo and her group, hanging out with them more so then with Bluey's group. Despite his feelings for Bingo being realized in his head, he knew that he didn't have much time left, as they mainly hung out at school. But he never got the chance, as Rusty and Jack had kept him occupied, as they were both struggling with their classes while Mackenzie was a top student. As usual, Coco was still obsessed with him, especially now considering that Mackenzie grew up with a great build, but as they were older, Bluey and Chloe tried convincing Mackenzie to date her, but he never broke.

Bingo had grown as well, although not nearly as well as Bluey. She didn't mind it at all however, as she had Lila, Dougie, and especially Mackenzie as close friends. Dougie had recently gotten his implants, and the group couldn't be any happier for him. To say he was ecstatic would be an understatement, as he spent a few months learning to speak and catch up on all the music he missed out on. Bingo and Mackenzie were extremely busy during that time, which caused Dougie and Lila to grow closer. They had grown so close in fact, that Dougie had asked her out for prom, which was nearing closer. Bingo and Mackenzie were happy for them, but that also meant that they had less time to hang out all together.

Prom was nearing, and they both knew that if one didn't ask the other, they would.

Bluey had decided to go together with Honey and Chloe, as the three were single but all wanting to experience prom. Coco had decided to join them after Mackenzie rejected her advances. As for Mackenzie, Jack and Rusty invited him to go with them. Rusty was going with Indy, and Jack also wanted to experience prom before graduating, and since he knew Mackenzie felt the same way, they invited him. That left Bingo alone. Of course she felt bad about it, not being asked out for it or being invited by the others. However, she did want to go seeing how excited Bluey was about it back home.

The days came and went, with everyone going shopping with their groups for new clothing for the prom. Bingo ended up finding a beautiful dress that perfectly complemented her orange fur, but also not too flashy. As for Mackenzie, he decided to go with the usual black suit and white dress shirt. As an add on though, he decided to add a small reddish orange rose in his chest pocket, in contrast to everyone else's white and red roses.

The day finally came, and Bluey and Bingo had just made it home from school. They immediately rushed to their rooms, preparing themselves for the event for the next hour. Bingo was ready first, as she wasn't nearly as meticulous with her looks as Bluey was. She was only 16 after all. However, once Bluey left her room, even Bingo was shocked to see just how much effort Bluey put into this. She always thought that Bluey was attractive without her trying, but this was something else. It made her a little self conscious.

"Lookin good Bingo! Ready to go?" Bluey asked, putting on a little jacket on top just for the ride.

"I.. gimme one sec!" She makes her way to the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror. She wasn't bad looking in any ways, but she did feel quite outclassed by her older sister. She decided on fixing the tuft of fur on the side of her head, and leaving everything else as is. She took a deep breath before walking out. "Alright, I'm ready Bluey."

"Good, Dad! We're ready!" Bluey called out to Bandit, who had promised to drive them there. Bandit upon walking into the room was shocked to see how well dressed the sisters were.

"Cheese and crackers.. you two look amazing!" He complimented them, grabbing his keys before leading them to the car. The two sisters were pretty happy to hear his compliment as they got into the car. Then they made their way to the school.

Upon arriving, Chloe, Coco, and Honey walked up to the car. Before Bluey and Bingo opened the door to get out, Bandit said, "have fun girls, but not too much. And stay safe."

The two girls gave him a thumbs up before hopping out of the car. Bingo stumbled a little, as she has very little experience with high heels, which she borrowed from Chili. Bluey went up to the three girls and gave them a big hug before walking off with them. As Bandit drove off, Bingo looked towards the school, seeing plenty of couples and groups walking in. "Must be nice… no! No being negative!" She gave herself a gentle slap to both of her cheeks before walking in. The sound of music filled the halls of the school. As she kept walking, she got a few eyes from some of the people in the hall. Most of them were older than her, only a few being her age. She kept to herself, looking down slightly, feeling a little embarrassed without a partner.

Mackenzie on the other hand was in the gym, leaning up against the wall with Jack, having small talk as they watched Rusty and Indy dance together. "...well ain't this awkward," he remarked.

"Very," Jack responded. He then noticed Bluey and her group walked in before tapping Mackenzie's shoulder. "Would ya look at that, the girls are here. Man Bluey looks amazing.. maybe i should ask her to dance with me."

"Mhm, sure," Mackenzie responded, not very interested. He had expected prom to be much more exciting, but so far it hadn't lived up to his expectations.

"You're not gonna dance with Coco?"

"No, we've had this talk. I'm not interested in her." Mackenzie sighed, going to the table where drinks were served and getting some fruit punch. He became a little bummed out, not seeing Bingo in the group with Bluey. Jack merely shrugged and made his way over to the girls. Mackenzie took a sip of his drink as he saw Jack take Bluey out to dance after a bit of talking. "Well ain't that something. He's quite lucky." He noticed Coco glancing at him, and he sighed before walking out to the hall. Unbeknownst to him, Coco followed behind.

He walked down the hall, passing by other guys and girls his age, even passing by Dougie and Lila who gave him a little wave. He waved back and gave them a smile before continuing his walk."Glad to see them enjoying themselves, I'm happy for them."

"Mackenzie," Coco called him, a few meters behind.

Mackenzie let out a sigh before turning around, "what is it now Coco?"

"I.. I'm sorry," she looked down to the side, visibly upset. "I'm sorry for trying too hard, and pushing it. I know it's not the best place or time.. but I just.. I don't want you to hate me."

"Coco.." he walks up to her, but still leaves a bit of distance. "I'm sorry as well, I haven't been all too.. direct with you. I never really gave you a reason why I rejected you." Coco looked up to him, still seeming a little upset but also curious.

Down the hallway, Bingo turned the corner, as she was still walking around. Her tail began to wag as she saw Mackenzie, but it soon slowed to a stop when she was Coco in front of him. "Coco? W-what is she doing with Mackenzie?" She walked back around the corner, peeking out a little to see them talk.

"Listen.. the reason why I rejected you was.. well.. I like someone else," Mackenzie finally told Coco, a little blush showing on his face. "I should've been honest with you Coco."

"I.. I see. Yea that makes sense.." Coco began rubbing her arm, looking away once more. Mackenzie could see what little hope she had leave her eyes. "Can I um.. can I ask who the lucky girl is?" She gives him a soft smile, trying to lift the mood even a little.

Mackenzie looked to her with a serious but confident face, taking a little bit to respond. "...It's Bingo."

Bingo could feel her face begin to burn up as she leaned back against the wall. Her heartbeat began to rise, her breathing getting heavy. "H-he said my name, right??? Am I imagining this??" She raised her hands to her cheeks, feeling the heat. She took another peek out down the hall only to see Mackenzie and Coco hugging, and quite tightly at that. Bingo felt her heart drop, maybe she did hear wrong afterwards. Her ears and tail drooped as she began to walk off, taking one of the side exits of the school. Once outside, she walked a little further towards the back of the school, finding a secluded area in shadow.

"I really needed that.. thanks Mackenzie," Coco thanked Mackenzie for returning the hug she gave him. "I hope things go well between you and Bingo. Really, I do."

"Thanks Coco. I hope we can still be friends after today.. even with this whole situation."

"Of course! I hope to see you and Bingo dance in the gym soon!" Coco gave him a big smile before walking off, back to the gym. He waved back.

"I.. I need a breather." Mackenzie walked down the hall to another one of the exits, taking off his suit jacket and vest, as there was no one outside. He looked up to the moon, which was bright out and shining down onto him. He took a few deep breaths, processing the talk he had with Coco. Finally he admitted who he liked to someone, but he felt a little bad for telling the person who had the biggest crush on him first. "What's done is done.." he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, scrolling through his contacts and looking at Bingo's. He looked at the photo he set, one he took two years ago of them hugging. He looks at it for a little bit before deciding to call her.

To his surprise he hears Bingo's phone ring nearby, as he knows her ringtone. He looks over in the direction and notices the call being declined. He calls her again and hears the ringtone again before being declined again. He put his phone back in his pocket, putting on the vest and jacket before walking over. When he turned the corner, he saw Bingo in the shadows, sitting on the ground, head on her knees. "Bingo..?" Mackenzie's voice was full of worry as he approached her, with Bingo scooting away slightly. She stayed silent. "Bingo? Are you ok?" He reached out and put his hand on her shoulder before getting down on one knee.

Bingo slowly looked up to Mackenzie, a small stream of tears flowing down her face. "H-hey Mackenzie.."

"Bingo, what happened??" He reached out with his hand to wipe away her tears, only for her to gently push him away. "Bingo..?"

"I.. It's nothing Mackenzie.. I'm ok."

"We both know its not nothing," he gets up and moves over in front of her, getting down on his knees. "Please tell me Bingo, I'm worried about you."

Bingo wiped away her tears before saying "I.. I saw you in the hall with Coco. And I saw you two hug."

"You saw us hug..? Bingo.. you know how I feel about Coco. She was having a rough night and she needed to talk to me about something, nothing more." Bingo slowly looks up to see Mackenzie looking down to her, the moonlight hitting the side of his face. She couldn't help but blush seeing him like this, it was her first time seeing him actually try with his looks, and it did wonders for him.

"I.. I know. And well.. I heard you say something before that.. and that's really the thing that got me.." she finally said, avoiding his gaze.

"Heard me say something? What did I s-," it finally hit him, causing him to blush. He stayed silent for a few seconds before saying, "well.. you heard right Bingo. I like you. Well.. like is more of an understatement really.." he kept his gaze on her to try and dispel any doubt she may have, and it was working.

"An.. understatement? You mean to say that you.. love me?" She finally looked up to meet his gaze, their eyes locking, faces red. Mackenzie stayed silent, slowly getting up and holding a hand out for her. Bingo slowly took it, not breaking eye contact as she took it. Mackenzie held her hand and helped her up and out into the moonlight. To say that Mackenzie was entranced by her beauty was an understatement, as he couldn't take his eyes off her. Bingo noticed and blushed heavily, putting her hand onto her arm. "Y-you look amazing Bingo.."

"As do you Mackenzie," she quietly said. "I.. I like you too Mackenzie. Really, I do." Soon their moment was broken by the sound of loud music pouring out of the school, as the main dance event was starting. "O-oh! Right, the dance! We should go."

"Bingo? Let's stay here," Mackenzie reached down and grabbed hold of one of her hands. "I know you're not great in a crowd, so.. let's dance here. What do you say?" He knew that if they were to leave to the dance, Bingo would be a little self conscious, seeing the other couples and her own dance in their own way. Rather, Mackenzie wanted a dance with Bingo that was free of any of that.

"I.. alright. But the grass makes it hard to move," she showed the heels that she was wearing, which were already sinking into the ground.

Mackenzie let out a chuckle, "well there's a simple solution for that." He then took off his dress shoes and threw them to the side, now being barefoot on the grass. Bingo smiled and followed suit, throwing her heels to the side with Mackenzie's. "Now then, shall we start?" He opened his arms, inviting her to get close. Bingo slowly approached, grabbing one of his hands and slowly lowering it to her waist. Since she took her heels off, the size difference was obvious between them, with Mackenzie being quite tall. Bingo, however, liked the size difference. Soon enough, they begun to dance under the moonlight, following the rhythm of the music coming from the school.

For the next hour, they danced, neither saying a word to each other as they enjoyed the moment. Their hearts were beating rapidly, with Mackenzie being careful taking the lead with the dance. Bingo however, was freaking out, as she was dancing with her crush. She couldn't believe that it was happening, and not a dream. She even bit her tongue slightly to make sure it wasn't a dream, and when the pain went away, she couldn't help but let a tear flow down her cheek, which was wiped away by Mackenzie.

Soon enough, the music had stopped, with Mackenzie and Bingo stopping with it, hand in hand. Their breathing was slightly heavy, as they danced slowly nonstop for the past hour. Bingo let go of him, her tail wagging slowly as she looked up to him. "W-well that was fun!" Mackenzie looked back at her, the moonlight hitting her head in a way that just mesmerized him further. He just stared at her, as if not hearing her say anything. "Hello? Earth to Kenzie," she waved a hand in front of his eyes, causing him to shake his head.

"O-oh! Sorry about that," he chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head.

"Was my dancing so bad that you have no words to say?" She asked, putting on a convincing sad face.

"Huh?? Of course not! You danced amazingly!" He begun to freak out a little, worried that he might have done something wrong. Bingo couldn't help but let out a small giggle as she dropped the facade.

"Good. You weren't half bad either. If you wanted a better dance you could've just asked my sis. She's been practicing more then I have.." she begun to rub her arm, looking out to the side, still holding a gentle smile that slowly went away.

Mackenzie took a little bit of time to think of how to approach this. It had always hurt him to see Bingo compare herself to her older sister, as she always thought of herself as less. He walked up to Bingo, grabbing her hands and holding them firmly in his. "Bingo, please look at me." Bingo looked up directly at him, curious at what he wanted to say. "Bingo, I don't care whether or not your sister dances better then you. What I do care about though, is that I get to dance with you and you alone. This isn't about them, this is about us, about you."

"Y-yea.. you're right!" She gave him a soft smile that seemed to pierce through his very heart. "I shouldn't be thinking of my sister.. I should be thinking of us!" Her hidden impulsive side began to show as she pushed herself into his arms, hugging him tightly. Mackenzie, not expecting this, took a while to hug her back, their tails beginning to wag in sync with one another. "We danced a good bit.. I'm tired," she let go of him, taking a small look at her dress, which was now green on the bottom due to the grass rubbing against it. "Aw man… I got my dress dirty.."

"I'd say it was worth it."

"You know what, I think so too." She took his arm and hugged it, leaning into his chest. Mackenzie, not wanting to ever forget this moment, takes his phone out of his pocket and takes a photo of them together like this. "Ooooo! Send me the photo when you get the chance!"

Mackenzie chuckled, "sure. I'll send it later. For now, we should probably head inside, pretty sure we've missed everything."

"So? At least we got some time to ourselves."

"True. And I couldn't be any happier," Mackenzie said, giving Bingo a little squeeze with his free arm. She sticks her tongue out at him playfully before they make their way back inside, holding each other's hands as they do.
