Disclaimer: This chapter I will take a bit more claim when it comes to the second half but still for the most part I own nothing. This is based off the show The Adventures of Boy Genius Jimmy Neutron and this is a fanfic of a fanfic from The N-Men By: cartoonace. It had been a month since the Hulk attacked, the city had made great strides in rebuilding, the military base had made repairs and the N-Men were almost back to full health, all seemed back to normal in the city, for now at least. The citizens had gotten back to their daily routines, they were shopping, playing and even gossiping somehow finding peace in the disastrous year they had all faced.

Cesar Labs

Despite everything that happened Cesar labs managed to survive the chaos of Hulk's rampage unscathed. Everything was normal, the researchers, scientists, and engineers were doing business. All was well until a group of four people walked into the building. "Good Morning sir." The receptionist greeted one of them with a delightful attitude. "What can I help you with?" He was very confused. "We need to see Dr Desmond." One of them replied. "Do you have an appointment?" She asked. The man gave her a sadistic smile. "Nope." Trying to hold her cool to sreplied back. "Then I'm sorry I can't allow you to go and see the doctor." She replied. "I don't think you'll have much of a choice." The man disputed secretly showing her his gun. "Oh my god!" The receptionist cried. "If you don't want your brains all over this wall you will tell us where the doctor is." He threatened her. "Fine, you'll find him on the second floor second door on the right." She whimpered. "Thank you for your assistance." The man replied. "You two. Stay with her and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid." He ordered. The man left with one of his companions to search for the doctor. The two made it upstairs and found the room the doctor was in. "You aren't allowed to be in here!" One of the scientists shouted. The man immediately pulled out his gun and shot every scientist in the room except Dr Desmond. "Dr Desmond, you need to come with us." The man ordered. "Who are you?" Dr Desmond asked. "We are the Green Fist and you are going to help us purify this city." The man chanted.

Military Base

The N-Men had made almost full recoveries from their injuries and were training in one of the bases training rooms. Sid gathered his friends together. "Alright guys let's do this." He shouted. Sid began to fly, maneuvering through the air she then flew to the three tanks in the room and began juggling them. Libby created a force field platform for herself to stand on, she then began to fly across the room she then created a force field disk and threw it cutting one of the tanks Sid was juggling in half forcing Sid to drop the others. "Hey!" Sid shouted. "Sorry." Libby apologized. Carl looked at the tanks and fired a sonic attack that blasted the tanks to pieces. The sound of the blast forced Sid and Libby to grab their ears. "You could have warned us, you know!" Sid complained. "Ya, Carl." Libby agreed. "Sorry." Carl apologized sheepishly. Sheen raced into the room and cleaned up the mess that was made in seconds. "Guess you guys are better. I was bored by myself." Sheen commented trying to lighten the mood. "I'm glad you're all doing better." General Vortex said, walking into the room. "Dad? What are you doing here?" Sid was surprised not having seen his dad since the Hulk attack.

"Well, this is my base and I wanted to check on my son. How are you." He replied. "Fine, but I haven't seen you in weeks. Where have you been?" Sid asked. "Looking for Jamey. She is a danger to not only herself but to others." The General replied harshly trying to see if he could try and turn her team against her so if and more likely wehen she showed her face again they wouldn't believe a word she had to say. "Have you found anything?" Carl was more concerned for his sister than anything else. "Unfortunately not. Jamey is very good at covering her tracks. I just wish I knew how she could've possibly escaped." The General replied Sheen froze ever so slightly but lucky for him no one saw.. "Anyway, what are we going to do now?" Sheen commented trying to change the topic before he slipt. "What do you mean?" Libby asked. "The lab is gone, both of them, and we don't have Jamey to fix any of it. Not to mention none of us have her IT skills. How are we going to keep this operation going?" Sheen explained. "He's got a point. None of us know what we're doing." Libby agreed. "Don't worry about that kids. You can have full access to all the army's resources." The General replied. "Thanks Dad." Sid said. "You're unusually nice today." The General said, intrigued. "Don't think anything of it." Sid replied not even smiling at him. Truth was he was beyond worried for Jamey. Last he had seen she was shot in a video by some psyco named Savage then she was some rampaging monster that almost killed every member of the super team they had formed. He was reluctant to tell his dad about the videoand now that they were all better the team could talk about the video and come up with their own way of finding Jamey and figuring out who this Savage was. At that moment a soldier ran into the room. "Sir, we have a problem!" The soldier shouted. "What is it?" The General asked. The soldier hesitated to speak. "It's okay, speak." The General continued. "The terrorist organization the Green Fist has kidnapped a doctor from Cesar labs." The General was confused about this. "Why?" The soldier spoke again. "We're not sure, but Dr Desmond is an expert in genetic engineering." Sid said, stepping forward. "We're on it. We beat those losers once, we can do it again." Truth was the team was more than ready to get back out in the field. "Ya!" Everyone shouted in unison. "Then let's go!" Sid shouted. "I don't think so!" Susan shouted walking into the room with the other parents. "None of you are going anywhere."

New York

Jamey somehow managed to travel to the big apple in search of one of her colleges. She made it to an apartment building in Manhattan. She snuck into the building and knocked on a door. "Who is it?" A voice called out. "47653" Jamey replied. The door immediately opened and a Mystiqueteenage boy came out of it. "Brett Quinlin." Jamey greeted her. "Jamey Neutron. Long time no see." He greeted her. "What brings you here?" She turned to her friend. "I'm kind of on the run from the law. Are you going to let me in or are we going to enjoy this interesting banter." Jamey commented. Brett let Jamey into his apartment. Jamey looked on at his fabulous penthouse suite. "So how's emancipated life treating you?" Jamey asked. "It's the best, I do what I want when I want to do it." Brett replied. "How did you manage to afford a place like this?" Jamey asked. "A few well placed investments here and there, but you don't want here about all that. Why did you come here?" Brett asked not wanting to play games or go through all the small talk. "I need your help Brett." Jamey replied directly. "It better not be a science problem." Brett chided. "Come on Brett. You're the smartest person I know other than myself." Jamey said, trying to persuade him. "Charming." Brett replied sarcastically. "Look, you know what I mean. I'm good at engineering, I can build impossible things to do a lot but I'm not as well versed as you in terms of Biology." Jamey explained. "Fine." Brett groaned. "What's your problem?" Jamey took a deep breath. "You saw what happened in Retroville right?" Jamey asked. "Which thing?" Brett asked. "The energy pulse that wrecked half the city, the terrorist attack, or the attack by the monster?"

"The last one. Thing is… " Jamey answered. "That monster was you." Brett interrupted. "How did you know?" Jamey asked surprised. "Besides the fact that you both have orange skin." Brett replied in a deadpanned tone. "Good point." Jamey agreed with an understanding nod. "So what do you need?" Brett asked. "I need to find some kind of cure for myself. But the thing is, finding a cure for mutants is a little out of my depth. I'm good at solving mechanical problems, not biological ones." Jamey explained with a little plead. "Fine, I'll help you." Brett begrudgingly agreed. "But I need to ask, why did you come to me? You could have easily gone to your cousin Eddie or even Eustace."

"Really… Eustace." Jamey replied with a deadpan face of her own. "Okay, maybe not Eustace." Brett agreed with a smile knowing full well that she would never go to Eustace. "Where can we work from?" Jamey asked. Brett walked up to one of his walls, he touched it and instantly it turned into a door and opened. "You know us scientists, we love our secret labs." He smiled. "I thought you said you were out of the game." Jamey smirked excitedly. "I am, it's just sometimes I get the urge." Brett replied. "Okay then, let's get to work." Jamey commented.

Military Base

Susan and the rest of the parents had just told the N-Men they weren't allowed to fight which shocked the teens. "What do you mean we're not going anywhere?" Sid asked, confused. "Look youngman, we as parents have decided that you children can't do this N-Men thing anymore." Susan replied. "Children?" Sheen said, slightly offended. "Sorry ma'am I'm almost eighteen, I can make my own decisions." Sheen's father stepped in. "Settle down Sheen." Roberto commanded his son. "You need to understand we are only concerned about your well being." Roberto put a hand on his son's shoulder. "Roberto's right." Judy agreed. "You kids almost died a month ago and sitting in that waiting room wondering if you were going to live or die was nerve racking to say the least."

"And you all have to understand you are under eighteen which means you need our consent to do something like this." Victor added. "But Dad!" Libby tried to object. "But nothing Libby!" Francine interrupted her. "Do you realize what it would do to your father and I if something happened to you. I mean god knows what happened to your brother and I'm not losing another child." Libby heard the fear and pain in her mothers words and decided to keep quiet. This was nto the time to tell them that she actually knew where he was all this time and he was living a life a villiany that she couldn't pull him away from. "We just need you all to understand we are doing what's in your best interests." Martha added. Sid couldn't believe what he was hearing although he didn't want to resort to it, he was forced to rely on his father. "Dad say something, you're the one who organized this whole thing!" The General tried his best to handle the situation with care. "I think temperatures are running a little high, I think we should all calm down and… "

"There's nothing to talk about Sam! This is the army's problem, not our son's." Susan interrupted him. "You can't stop us!" Sid shouted. "We can and we will." Susan replied. "How?" Carl asked a little defiantly. "If it comes to it sweety we'll have to put collars on you." Martha answered. The teens were shocked that parents would go to such extremes to get them under control Sid got into a fighting position. "You'll try." Sheen quickly went to stop Sid. "Sid, calm down. This is not the way." Sid did as he was told and walked away, Libby and Carl soon followed. Before leaving, Sheen gave the adults a disappointed look and said. "You guys are making a big mistake." Sheen then left to follow his friends. The General was less than pleased with the turn of events but was forced to play it cool. "If you are all sure about your decision then I will have a task force handle the Green Fist. I just hope it will be enough."

New York

Jamey and Brett were working in Brett's lab. Brett was at a table inspecting Jamey's blood while the latter was working on his computer. "Okay this is just weird." Brett commented. "What?" Jamey asked, moving towards him. "I've seen the data from all the other mutants you showed me but yours is vastly different." Brett explained. "Really? How?" Jamey asked, checking herself but not seeing anything. "The difference is very slight and unless you had an eye for this sort of thing like I do you'll miss it. Basically your mutation is incomplete like… How do I put it? It's like your mutation is giving birth to a baby and the baby's stuck in the…"

"I get the picture." Jamey interrupted, not really wanting to see THAT picture. "Basically that's caused this 'Hulk' as it calls itself to be this highly aggressive and unintelligent beast." Brett continued to explain. "What do you think is the cause of this?" Jamey asked hopefully for an answer. "It may be because of your little problem." Brett replied knowing full well that it was a sore subject for Jamey. "I thought we agreed to never speak of that again." Jamey replied wide eyed, staring at the teenage boy a little threatingly. "Look Jamey, you came to me for help. I'm just giving you my thoughts on it." Brett countered. Jamey let out a sigh before asking. "Fine, how do you think we remedy it?" Brett now fully turned to Jamey to look directly at her in a serious matter. "I suggest we turn the cerebro inhibitor off." Brett answered and his suggestion gave Jamey a fearful look.

Retroville

Sid, Carl, Libby, and Sheen went to a room where they could speak. "I can't believe they did this to us." Sid complained. "Ya, this is totally unfair." Libby agreed. "Is it?" Carl asked. "What do you mean?" Sheen asked. "Look I hate this as much as you guys do but we have to look at this from their point of view. The things we've been doing this last year have been pretty dangerous; Force, Monica, Stone… all violent criminals in their own right who almost killed us on different occasions, I can see where our parents are coming from and I'm sure you guys can too." Sid, Libby, and Sheen looked at each other. "Carl's right." Sheen agreed. "I wouldn't feel comfortable going out there without Jamey's help anyway." The team sighed. "Me too." Sid agreed, everyone looked at Sid slightly surprised. "I mean, she has done a great job training us and her inventions were really helpful." Libby placed a hand on his arm. "It's okay Sid. I miss her too." Libby commented. "I wonder where she is." Carl commented. "We'll find her… One day." Sid replied.

Just like he had said, the General assembled a task force to retrieve Dr Desmond. They made their way to a warehouse just on the outskirts of the city, they managed to sneak in without anyone knowing and made it into a room where the doctor was located. "Dr Desmond, we've come to take you home." The lead soldier said to him. The doctor ignored them and kept working. "Dr Desmond, are you hurt? Do you need medical assistance?" The soldier asked again. The doctor ignored them again and kept working. "What is going on!" The soldier said to himself, he pulled the doctor turning him around revealing a bomb strapped to his chest. "Oh crap!" The soldier shouted. "They said if I stopped working they were going to blow me up." Dr Desmond said like a frightened child. "Don't worry doc, we got this." The soldier said, trying to reassure him. "Please don't, they're here." Dr Desmond cried. "What do you mean? The soldier asked, confused. "He means that you're all dead." A voice shouted from the shadows. A Mystiquedark haired woman stepped out of the shadows. The soldiers immediately pulled out their weapons aiming straight at her. "Freeze!" The lead soldier shouted. "Greetings gentleman." She said playfully. "You can just call me Mystique."

"I said freeze!" The soldier shouted again. "While I don't like getting my hands dirty, I am willing to make exceptions." She continued walking towards them. "If you take another step we will fire!" The soldier shouted. Mystique kept walking to them. In a blaze of fury the soldiers began firing their weapons, Mystique fell to the ground with multiple holes in her body. Everything remained quiet, then suddenly Mystiquegot up and her wounds began to instantly heal. She gave them a sadistic smile, long metal claws formed from her nails and she charged at them. The soldiers began firing at her but she charged through slashing one of the soldiers throat, she went to another and kicked him the face sending him down, she fired her claws at four of the soldiers stabbing them in their necks, she formed more claws and slashed the soldier she kicked down's neck, she then looked at the last of the soldiers. The soldier began firing at Mystique but she just kept walking to him when she finally reached him, slashed his throat killing him. She then looked at Dr Desmond. "Pack up doc, we're leaving." She said coldly. The next day the general came to everyone with a worried look. "Dad, what's wrong?" Sid asked. "I just got word that the task force I sent to retrieve Dr Desmond failed their mission." He told Sid. "What happened to them?" Sid asked. "They're all dead. And worse, they were killed by a mutant." The General explained. The teens looked at each other in shock. "It's time to go." Sid said calmly before walking to the door, the others looked at each other and agreed following Sid. "Where do you think you're going?" Susan asked. "We're going to rescue the doctor." Sid stated. "No you aren't!" Susan shouted. Sid stopped and went straight for his mother. "Yes I am!" He shouted back. "Because of all of you, people are dead!" Susan kept quiet for a moment. "If we didn't listen to you those people that mutant killed wouldn't have been there in the first place! And now we have to live with that guilt, that people died because we did nothing. We are going, and there's nothing you can do to stop us!" Sid shouted. Susan tried to talk some sense into her son. "Look young man, we're doing what's best for…"

"Best for who Mom!? People died! Was your decision best for them! For their families! Now some unlucky people are going to get the news that someone special to them isn't coming back." Sid shouted. Susan kept quiet. "Sid's right." Libby agreed. "Libby be quiet!" Francine ordered. "Sorry mom but no." Libby replied, which made her mother raise her eyebrow. "For whatever reason we were given these powers and I'm going to use mine to help people. It's my way to make up for my sins." All the parents were confused now. "What sins?" Victor asked. "Look, I've done some bad things. I was a bully, I tormented a lot of people including Carl over there. When Sid found me I found a way to repent to make other people's lives better." Libby tried to explain. "That's all well and good Libby…" Victor tried to say. "I'm not finished Dad. It's not the only reason. I've been keeping a secret from you both." Libby interrupted. "What?!" Francine said surprised. "Shawn was affected like me. He's now a part of some criminal group and I need to bring him back. Or at the very least stop him before he hurts more people." Libby continued. Victor and Francine were shocked by what their daughter told them. "Libby's not the only one here looking to repent, I have my own sins to atone." Carl spoke out. "What did you do?" Judyasked, surprised. "I tried to kill three people, Libby was one of them."

"What!?" Judy said, completely shocked. "You little… '' Victor shouted charging straight for Carl but was stopped by Roberto. "Calm down Victor! Don't do anything you might regret." Francine said calmly, still shocked from the earlier news. Victor took a deep breath and calmed down. "Why did you do it?" Martha asked. "I would like to tell you it was because they bullied me and I wanted payback but there was a little more to it than that." Carl explained. "What was it?" Judy asked. "I haven't even told my team this, so here we go. For most of my life I've felt powerless." Carl explained. "What do you mean?" Martha asked. "When you and Dad divorced that blind sided me and I felt powerless because everything changed and there was nothing I could do to stop it. When you won full custody in court and Dad stopped coming around as often I felt powerless again, I had no say in the matter. Then when Dad moved away with his girlfriend I felt that feeling again. All that combined with the torment I faced from people at school pushed me over the edge. When I got my powers it was the first time in my life I felt powerful like I could finally control what was happening in my life. Since there was nothing I could do about you and Dad I decided to go after my bullies instead." Carl explained. Both Judy and Martha were silent after hearing the news. "Look Mom, I'm glad you found Judy, someone who really makes you happy and Judy, I'm also glad you entered my life. You've really helped me through some tough times. It's just that sometimes Mom I resent the fact that your happiness may have cost me my relationship with my Dad, that's all." Carl added. Judy and Martha stayed quiet. "I have something to confess to you, Dad." Sheen said to Roberto. "What is it son?" Roberto asked. "Zupco never released you from your debt." Sheen confessed. Roberto looked at Sheen confused. "I don't understand, he said… " Sheen couldn't lie to his dad anymore. "That was a lie." Sheen interrupted. "I traded my services to him in return for paying off your debt." Roberto could only look at his son with fear. "What did you do?" Roberto asked. "I stole for him. I robbed people, buildings just about anything he would tell me to do until the debt was paid off." Sheen explained. "Sheen." Roberto said with a pained voice. "You shouldn't have done that. I could've… "

"No Dad, you couldn't have. You had so much to deal with adding Zupco to that equation would've killed you in more ways than one." Sheen explained. "There was Nate, Ricardo, Gracia and Abuela to think about. If something happened to you what would happen to them. Selling myself was the only good option available." Ricardo stayed silent and gave his son a hurt look. Sid then stood in front of the parents. "All that being said you all need to understand that we have to do this, not just for repentance, not just because it's the right thing to do… Because there is no one else who can fight this fight, if we don't then who?" After hearing their children's reasons for being the N-Men the adults all just remained silent, not moving, not saying a word. Realizing nothing was going to move forward Sid went to his father. "Time is of the essence Dad. Are you able to track Dr Desmond's location?" Sid asked hopefully. "Yes I am. Follow me." The General replied walking out the room. The teens took one last good look at their parents and left to follow the General. The General took the teens to a command center. "Have we made any progress locating Dr Desmond." The General asked his staff. "Yes sir." One of the technicians answered. "Thanks to the body cams on the soldiers we saw the bomb strapped to Dr Desmond's chest we were able to trace its unique isotopes to this location." The technician brought out an image of an abandoned hotel. "N-Men, you have the location, and you know what to do." The General shouted. "Suit up!" Sid called out.

Abandoned Glober Hotel

Dr Desmond was hard at work finishing up the device the Green Fist kidnapped him to make. "Work faster doc, my employer isn't patient." Mystique commented. "I'm working as fast as I can." Dr Desmond timidly replied. Outside the building the N-Men were sneaking around. "Okay guys we have to make this fast and clean. We don't have the regeneration pod to heal us if we get hurt so be careful." Sid explained. "What's the plan?" Sheen asked. "First things first." Sid replied. "Carl, how many people are in the building?" Carl used his super hearing to hear everything coming from the building. "There's about thirty of them in there. Twenty of them are clustered in one room, while the others are spread out in the building."

"Do you know where the doctor is?" Sheen asked. "He's probably with the group of twenty. One heartbeats a lot faster than the others." Libby looked from Sheen to Sid. "So Sid, what do we do?" Libby asked. Sid thought for a second. "Libby, you make us invisible and levitate us in there."

"Why don't I just super speed us in." Sheen suggested. "The doctor has a bomb on his chest, Sheen. We should handle this carefully and not go in guns blazing." Sid replied. Sheen nodded. "Okay guys get in close." Libby said. The group huddled around Libby. "Not that close!" She shouted at Sheen. "Sorry." Sheen replied. Libby used her powers to make her teammates invisible, she then created a force field platform for everyone to stand on and levitated the group inside. They slowly passed some of the guards. "Where to?" Libby whispered. "Keep moving straight ahead then turn left." Carl whispered. The group made it to the hall where Mystique was keeping the doctor hostage. "Who's that?" Carl asked, indicating to Mystique. "Don't know but I have dibs on fighting her." Sheen said while smiling as he looked at the blue woman. Libby hit him in the ribs. "Ow, what was that for?" Sheen asked, rubbing his sides. "For being a pig." Libby replied. "Can you two be quiet! We're invisible, not soundproof." Sid whispered. "I want to hear what they're saying." Below the N-Men, Mystique was speaking with a man. "The good doctor has almost completed the device." She told him. "Good, Savage will be pleased." The man replied. The sound of that name made Sheen flinch slightly. "What's wrong?" Carl asked. "No it's nothing." Sheen replied. "Will Savage keep his word on our deal?" Mystique asked. "Flora doesn't take disappointment well."

"Neither does Savage." The man replied. When they all heard that name they knew trouble was ahead.. "But if it will settle your mind I'll show you your reward." The man brought out a suitcase and opened it revealing a bottle of water. "This will give you your desired effect." Looking at it suspisuly. "How do I know it's not fake?" Mystique asked. "I'll show you." The man brought out a small plant, he poured a drop of water on it and the plant started to grow rapidly. "Proof enough for you? With this formula you and your little Green Fist organization can make as many plants as you like." The blue woman gave a dangerous look. "Ha ha, very funny, but we didn't come here for jokes." Mystique replied, and she then turned to the doctor. "How much longer!?"

"I'm finished." Dr Desmond said, almost relieved, showing the two villians an eye-shaped device. "Good. Thank you doctor." Mystique replied, taking the device from the doctor. "And goodbye." She said, extending one of her blade nails to the doctor's face. "That's our cue, Flash!" Sid shouted. In that instant Sheen super sped straight to the doctor moving him out of the way before Mystique could kill him. "What the… " Mystique shouted, surprised. "N-Men assemble!" Sid shouted as the team revealed themselves to the villains. "Them!" Mystiquesaid viciously. "Just who I was waiting for." The man said with a smile. "Stand down, before things get messy." Sid ordered. "Ha, don't make me laugh!" Mystique shouted. "What are you fools waiting for, kill them!" The Green Fist soldiers in the room began firing at the teens, Libby created a force field dome to protect her and the others. "Sid, what's the game plan!" She shouted. "Libby, you stay with Dr Desmond and protect him. Carl, you and Sheen handle the grunts while I take care of that woman."

"Aww!" Sheen groaned in disappointment. Libby created a small hole for her teammates to go through and they went straight into action. Sheen raced out first taking out dozens of the soldiers in seconds, the moment Carl got out of the bubble he fired a powerful sound blast that took out a group of soldiers instantly. Sid tackled Mystiqueinto a wall. "You better stand down." Sid ordered. "Ya, I don't think so sweet heart." She replied that, healing from her injuries, Mystique managed to kick Sid back with enough force to send the latter back. "But as much as I would like to play with you I have other business to attend to." She then looked at the man and the two tossed their respective packages at one another. "Chow!" Mystique threw a smoke bomb to the ground and disappeared. Sid then looked at the man who simply smiled, he flew straight for the man but he evaded him by teleporting behind him, he activated the device blasting Sid with it sending the boy down. "Special Guy!" Sheen shouted. Sheen raced over to him but the man dodged him by teleporting behind him and firing the device at him. "That should be enough for now." He said smiling before teleporting away. Carl and Libby went to check on their friends. "Are you guys okay?" Libby asked. "I'm okay." Sid replied. "Ya, other than some dizziness, I'm fine." Sheen replied. Sid then went to Dr Desmond. "Dr Desmond, are you okay?" A little dazed it took a moment before the doctor could think straight. "Yes I am." The doctor replied. "We need to know what you built for them?" He asked. "It was a…" At that moment the doctor's bomb activated, Sheen and Sid grabbed Libby and Carl and raced them out of the building before they could be caught in the blast. The team looked on at the burning building. "We failed." Sid said disappointed in himself. "We're alive, that's all that matters." Libby said, trying to reassure her friend. "Let's go!" Sid said sadly.

Military Base

The team returned to the base disheartened from their failure. "I can't believe we failed." Sid commented. "This wouldn't have happened if Jamey was still around." Carl commented. "I think you're right Carl." Sid agreed. "She always seemed to have a plan that worked everything out." Everyone was sad thinking about their missing friend. "Ya." Sheen agreed. "Until she comes back we need to learn how to do things ourselves." Libby commented. The General walked over to the teens. "I heard about what happened." Sid could barely look his father in the eyes. "We didn't save Dr Desmond." Sid said sadly. "That doesn't matter. All that matters is that you're safe." The General replied. "Did you learn anything?"

"Only that the two who were organizing this whole thing were working for two people named Flora and Savage." Libby answered. "Flora's the leader of the Green Fist, but I do not know who this Savage is." The General replied. "Ya, I'd bet." Sheen whispered, not believing a word the General said. "I'll go and investigate this, you guys better get back to your parents." The General said, walking away. The teens went to go see their parents. They entered the room expecting to be screamed at but were greeted by hugs and kisses. "We're so glad you're all okay!" Susan said, hugging her son. "What's with the attitude change?" Sid asked. "We all got to talking while you were away." Martha replied. "And we realized you were right." Roberto added, he walked to Sheen. "Son, I'm sorry I put you in such a position. I am very proud of you. And I'm proud of the man you're becoming." Sheen smiled at his father and hugged him. Francine and Victor went to their daughter. "We may not like what you're doing Libby but we sure as heck can respect you for doing it." Victor said. "We know you can save your brother." Francine said as she hugged her daughter. Judy and Martha went to Carl. "I'm so sorry, sweety." Martha said to her son. "I'm sorry that your Dad and I couldn't have handled everything better and I'm sorry you were suffering in silence. I promise to do better." Carl smiled at both of his mothers; he knows that it could not have been easy with one child missing and the other being seriously injured, added with everything else that the N-Men team brings with it. Truth is his moms were always worried about Jamey but never knew how to be there for her since she grew up so fast. And since it was no use to try and find someone who doesn't want to be found they decided to try and fix their relationship with their son while he is here and alive and well with them. But they made a promise to themselves as well that as soon as Jamey was back they would do better by her. "I promise too, Mom." Carl replied. "And let's all promise to stop keeping secrets from each other okay." Martha commented. "Sure." Carl agreed, hugging them both.

Unknown Location

Mystique was walking through a jungle-like area, she came before a blond green skinned woman sitting on a tree throne. "Did you get it?" Flora asked. "Yes my queen." Mystique bowed, handing the formula to Flora. "With this my dream of a new eden will be a reality!" Flora shouted happily with Mystique looking on with a smile leaving and transforming back into the form that most people knew her as. Martha. Now she needed to meet up with her other "boss".

Unknown Location

General Vortex or Savage walked into a room and met with his scientist Martha. "Greetings master." She happily greeted him. "Good evening Martha. Your cybernetic prosthetics worked like a dream. Nobody noticed." Martha enthusiastically smiled. "I'm happy to be of service." She blushed. "Did Max retrieve the device?" Savage asked. "I did sir, I even managed to scan two of them." The man from the hotel answered. "Excellent." Savage smiled sinisterly. "Let the games begin."

Jamey's Lab (or What's Left of It)

After the team's first mission without Jamey they all went back to where the lab was. On Jamey's desk was the box filled with AJ's stuff, surprisingly still somewhat intact. It had been a long day for everyone and Sid felt as though everyone needed a distraction. "What are you doing?" Libby asked Sid who went and grabbed the box to bring it back to his house where everyone else followed him there and he opened it in the main sitting area. "I am going to go through this stuff for Jamey since she is not here to do it." Carl walked up to him with a questioning look. "Are you sure that's a good idea?" Sid was tired about all of the crap that's happened within the last few months and he honestly thought the team needed this. They all missed her. "Would you rather wait till Jamey gets back from trying to cure herself from a rampaging monster to a town that actually wants to lench her for something that wasn't her fault to then go through the box filled with her dead boyfriend's stuff?" Sheen was the first to shake his head no. "Hand some stuff over." Libby went towards the kitchen. "I'll make some popcorn. I feel like it's going to be a long night." Carl just got off his phone. "Just texted Elky to join us." With that they began to go through the box that was filled with memories of a big part of Jamey's past.

While they unloaded the box Sid began to ask the question the rest of the team was waiting to hear. "So this person works for Savage. The same guy who quoted on quote shot Jamey. Who else has a feeling there is more going on than we are being told?" Libby nodded. "Absolutely and maybe it also has something to do with Jamey turning into that monster. I mean come one I keep replaying the events of that day in my head. There is no way that we get attakced, then see a video of her getting shot by this Savage person, she turns into an orange monster, and now this Savage person is up to something." Sheen still played his cards close to his chest not wanting everyone to be in trouble if they all knew he freed her or that Savage was really General Vortex but at the same time they needed to learn more about his plan. "We need to keep a close watch on him and I have been digging into this Savage character since we saw the video for the past month while I was waiting for you all to heal up." Everyone leaned in closely but were disappointed to learn that Sheen couldn't find a thing on Savage. Carl stepped in. "Well we will do our own search and investigation into this and I am having a feeling you didn't involve the government for a reason, Sheen since the General said he never heard that name before." Sheen came up with the best lie on the spot. "Since Jamey got shot on government proverty I just want to be careful you know." Everyone nodded at that and then started to gravitate back to the box of Jamey's stuff.

After a while the team only found some journals, unfinished tinkers, clothes, photos, a stuffed alligator that looks to be from a carnival game, and a video camera. Around this time Elky had come over carrying about five sausage and mushroom pizzas which Sheen took four of. "Thank you, how did you know we were hungry?" Sheen raced off to eat his first pizza. "Had a hunch." Elky answered, handing the last pizza to Sid while she sat down next to Carl giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Glad you're better." Elky said to Carl. "Thanks for the food Elk." Sid told her as he sat back down about to eat his first slice when he noticed Libby taking a slice from one of Sheen's boxes. And he let her, which just caused Sid to smile while he ate. Elky looked down at the table to see the photos.

"So this is AJ?" Picking up a picture of Jamey with a black man she had never seen before. "Yeah." Carl answered having been the only who had known what he had looked like. "They look good together." Elky said. Sid didn't know why that comment made him feel a little mad considering there was no reason for him to be. Libby took the photo from Elky. "Yeah they do. I don't think I've ever seen her that happy." Sheen swallowed his pizza and added. "Yeah, me either." Carl could only sigh at his sister's loss. "She really loved him." Remembering the night she finally told him AJ had died. Jamey was a complete wreck finally being able to actually grieve for him. "It's almost weird not seeing her orange with green hair." Libby commented being one of the few who had not actually seen what she looked like before the accident. Sid remembered the photo he had grabbed from when the box had first arrived. He actually hasn't forgotten it. It's up in his room. He had also found a photo he had found after the fight with Stone he doesn't know why but when he saw the photo of just Jamey laughing he just needed to keep it close. He carries it with him when Nick isn't around. She had slowly become his best friend and he missed her but anytime her name was brought up with Nick it led to a big fight. The photo was of Jamey in a candid shot. She looked beautiful. No one else knew that he had the photo. Elky picked up the stuffed gator and looked him in the eye. "I wonder what your story is?" Libby just laughed at the cute action. "I wish we knew more. Truth is Jamey never really spoke about him." Even with Carl who has actually met him. "I met him once and even then I never got the full story. Most I know is that they met while working at the base together." Elky put down the toy gator and looked at her boyfriend. "So he's a genius too?"

"Yeah. Jamey had always said that she had finally met her match with him." Sid was feeling jealous when he heard this but pushed it down. Elky grabbed the video camera. "Have you watched this yet?" Libby grabbed another piece of pizza from Sheen's box before looking at what Elky was holding. "No, we were debating whether or not to watch it." Without hesitation Elky just hooked it up to the big screen and hit play. On the screen was a lab and AJ had walked into the screen he looked nervous.

AJ: Ok today I am finally going to ask Jamey out. And if things go south like last time I will have video records to study from to avoid a third error.

"Ok that's cute. He must have really liked her." Libby commented as she leaned into Sheen slightly. Sheen smiled as he was finishing his ninth slice of pizza.

In the background they could hear the doors open and close.

Jamey: Ok guess who just got the lunch of champions. One large. Cheeseless pizza with a tomato basil black pepper medley sauce. Topped with broccoli, mushrooms, spinach, pineapple, and. Jalapeños. Two Purple Flurp Floats and. One large cheese pizza.

She said as she jumped into frame and lamely handed the cheese pizza to AJ.

AJ: I do not know how you can eat that? And if you're vegan you can't have the milkshake.

Jamey: First off, not vegan but sometimes vegan pizza is better.

AJ: How?

Jamey: There isn't any grease. Also I don't know how you can eat that.

AJ: But that's the best part.

Jamey could only make a disgusted face. When she finally noticed the camera Jamey became wided eyed.

Jamey: You didn't tell me you were doing a test recording. Rewind it, the Generals can not see that. You already know how they feel with two 'kids' working on their major projects. We can't be seen messing around.

When they heard Jamey say that they realized Jamey was kind of forced to grow up fast.

AJ: This isn't for them, it's for me. Personal notes.

Jamey let out a breath walking over to eat her pizza.

Jamey: Great. So am I allowed to know what these 'personal' notes are or is it a secret?

AJ just turned to look at her. He was clearly nervous.

AJ: J?

Jamey: Yea?

AJ: Would you like to…. You see there's this.. uhm. What I'm trying to say is that tonight is the….

This was too painful to watch.

Jamey: Would you like to watch the meteor shower with me tonight?

AJ let out a breath before responding with a YES.

"So she asked him out." Sheen stated. "I guess it was either that or it was never gonna happen." Libby added. "I wonder what else is on here?" Carl asked. Elky went to the camera and saw that there were a lot of files most filled with records of invention testings but there were a handful of ones that had him just recording Jamey. Like the one where they were in their apartment the base had set up for them. Jamey was in the kitchen cooking with the music blaring and she was dancing to it not knowing he was there. It went on like that for a while before she noticed AJ standing there with the camera and to say that she was angry would be a wild understatement. The video continued with the background becoming blurry and chaotic because AJ was running away from Jamey with the camera in hand. This made everyone laugh at the sweet little antics that Jamey and AJ did have before the accident. "It's nice to see her act like not a kid but not like well." Libby tried to explain but everyone knew what she was trying to say. It was nice to see Jamey enjoy her youth instead of being a forty year old in the body of a teenager. Another video was of them at the carnival and of Jamey playing a shooting game winning the stuffed gator. "Who knew Jamey could shoot?" Sheen yelled, making everyone laugh. The video ended with the two of them kissing on the ferris wheel. "Awe." Libby couldn't help herself, but the sweet moment only caused Sid to grip his fists to the point of almost breaking skin and bleeding.

Elky noticed the time, realizing that it was getting late. "Ok one more video and I've got to get home." This caused everyone to look at their watches. "Yeah we all should probably be getting home. Or maybe we can convince our parents to let us stay here for the night." Libby said as she started to text her mom long with everyone else. At that moment Sid's mom comes into the living room. "So what is going on here?" She knew that they all had come by and it was getting late, Sid had asked her if they all could stay over and she said yes if it was alright with their parents. She then saw the box on the table recognizing it as the same box Sid had brought home with him when he was released from the med bay and found out Jamey was gone. All he had told her was that it had come from what was left from the lab. "So you finally going to tell me what is up with that box?" She asked but was not expecting Carl to answer. It's stuff that belonged to my sister's late boyfriend. She stood there silent. Sid told her everything about what really happened during the accident and for the first time she did not hate Jamey Neutron.

Susan felt awful for how she treated the girl. "When you first came home after you got your powers. I was so rude to her and she didn't do anything. I can not believe your father let her take the blame like." She was mad at her husband now but she had a new understanding towards the girl that he son was so fond of even if he wouldn't admit it. "So this is her boyfriend?" She pointed to the screen. Sid had a weak smile and nodded at his mother. All night the team and Sid's mom sat in the living room and watched parts of Janet's life of the two years she and AJ had gone out with one another. Even the year where they were just friends. They saw some experiments succeed and fail, dates, goofing around, and some milestone moments. They all missed her so much and hoped that she was ok. After they watched the final video and were practically done taking inventory of the boxes contents they just sat around telling their favorite Jamey story. Sheen and Carl did most of the talking. Sheen and Jamey met in high school; she was a senior and he was a sophomore. She was supposed to be tutoring him when she found out that he was a genius and just hid it. Everyone laughed at Jamey's surprise when she found out that he wasn't struggling in the way she first thought. Yes he probably has ADHD but he also wasn't applying himself and she knew how to spot the difference between the two.

Sid talked about his memory of them being in preschool together. How she got in trouble for building a working mini rocket out of stuff she found in class. After it had accidentally broken the window in class he didn't really see much of her after that. Susan remembered that day. "You know after your father heard that story he seemed very keen on Jamey. I didn't think much of it at the time because the next day he told me that she had moved up some grades. I guess he was impressed that someone so young was that smart." Sid did not like this. Something felt weird about the way his mom retold the momories. His dad had sought out Jamey after he told him about her school rocket. Elky played the final video. While Libby grabbed the big oversized jacket that she figured Jamey would want out, something fell out of the pocket, a flip phone. This caused her eyes to go wide. For someone so tech savvy he had an ancient cell phone. "Hey guys you will never believe what I found." Libby walked back into the room. Where she saw the big screen had stopped her in her tracks. Everyone could only hold their mouths open. And everyone is thanking every being in existence that Jamey never saw. Last thing she needed was to relieve the last real conversation with her late boyfriend. Especially if it was a fight.

The video showed the lab the two worked in. AJ and Jamey were working on the rock pile that Sid had to assume was Stone before the accident. Then Jamey looked at her phone when she saw the notification. She got really angry. "You have got to be kidding me?" AJ was confused. "What?" Jamey was beyond tired and had been working for days. "You need to update your phone. The General is doing live testing today. We aren't ready. And he had been having the other scientists trying to go back over our work if you haven't noticed to try and make the solution permanent and not temporary like we had discussed. This man is going to get us all blown to hell if he isn't careful." Jamey ranted. Everyone is starting to feel uncomfortable. They knew what day this was but for some reason they couldn't look away. "Hey I've been the one going over the equations about the permanent solution and you know it. We both know he's going to go through with it rather we work on it or not might as well make sure he doesn't kill anyone." AJ annoyingly retorted back. "I know but AJ he is goignto get people killed no matter what we do I'm not going to sacrifice my conscience to fix his mistakes." Jamey said storming out of the lab to look for the General. AJ followed her soon after. After a bit of recording both scientists came back frustrated but not at each other any more. AJ had gotten out some OJ and they could hear Jamey's stomach growl. "You gonna finish that?" AJ gave her the drink and she finished it. "So that's why she looks like a human orange. She drank orange juice right before the explosion. Now that's unlucky." Elky muttered to herself. But Carl heard and gave a light chuckle because he knew she was right. Before anyone else could say anything they heard an alarm going off on the video and Jamey and AJ running off screen and after a few moments they heard the explosion and then a scream that rang through the entire base. Everyone did not need to see who was screaming; they knew that that was the moment she had found AJ dead. They all froze at the moment. Sheen went straight towards the camera and deleted the video. "Why did you do that?" Libby asked not objecting to the action. "Jamey can never see that. It would probably break her." Sheen replied. "She's tougher than she looks." Carl replied. "But that being said it is probably best if she doesn't know about this and just moves on to something new and not have to be burdened with what ifs." Carl finished. "Carl and Sheen are right.?" Sid asked. Everyone somewhat agreed with that logic. With that they cleaned up the rest of their mess and all headed home having to still process all the information they learned tonight. But one thing was for sure now matter what comes their way they needed to stick together as a team to get through whatever comes their way.

Hope y'all enjoyed my special touch to the story come back for more soon.
