miranda was annoyed. more than annoyed, however there are no words to describe it. she had known that princess amber could be... difficult. what she had not expected was she would insult her entire life's work.
what did not help matters, is that king roland was repeatedly trying to make up for her. that day at the shop, many flowers and chocolates had been delivered. even baileywick had come to give a formal apology on the behalf of amber. but, as she had said then, the king could find a new cobbler.
she had spent hours on what was probably her finest pair of shoes for amber. however, due to the insult, she would not make anything for that bratty child. not now, not ever. and that was that.
miranda was closing the shop when she saw the most peculiar sight. a carriage. miranda groaned when she saw the king step out of it. why was he so persistent? she had been very clear, or at least thought she had been.
"miranda, you must understand. amber made a mistake!" roland pleaded. miranda almost scoffed. "mistake? what is there to make a mistake about? she insulted me! more than once!" miranda almost yelled. just then roland had an idea. "come with me" he said. "and you get the idea i am going with you from...?" miranda replied sarcastically. she couldn't care less if she was talking to the king like that.
"please?" he pleaded once more. miranda sighed. he was going to keep asking anyway so might as well go.
"sofia!" she called. sofia bounded down the stairs with a bright smile. her face fell however, when she caught sight of roland. "oh, it's you" she scowled. miranda didn't know wether to laugh or to reprimand her daughter. "i'm going out for a bit sofia. do you think you'll be okay?" miranda asked. sofia nodded. "i'll go play with mr fuzzy!" sofia exclaimed happily before running off.
miranda laughed. roland just looked confused. "the neighbour's cat" she explained. roland nodded. "are you ready to go?" he asked. miranda nodded. "yes. now can you explain where on earth we are going?" she replied. "you'll see" he replied, opening the carriage door for her. miranda rolled her eyes before she climbed in. this was going to be a long ride.
