If nothing else, Kyros could safely say that, he had made a damn good entrance.

"My lord." Though the grimace on Wilhelm's face told him that he wasn't sharing the same thought process as his new lord. "Why are you dressed like... that?" the other two men in the room snickered at the displeased look on Wilhelm's face before one of them spoke.

"He is the lord of this house now, Wilhelm. Lord Kyros could walk around naked and none of use would have the right to stop him." The man who spoke was old, as in Dumbledore old. He was wearing black mage robes along with a honest to god pointy hat. There were also many liver spots around his nose and wrinkled forehead, Kyros wasn't sure if there were more cause his long white beard and mustache covered the rest of his face. Matal Mogamett, genius magician who had dedicated his whole life to studying magic in order to help people. A truly kind man, who did not hate anyone without magic like another Mogamett in another universe.

"That does not mean that he should be Mogamett!" Wilhelm snapped at his long time friend. "He is the lord of this house, he has to present himself in a way befitting his station."

"Ehh, I think he looks quite like a king. Even more so than our current king." Mogamett replied casually as the last man in the room chuckled.

"Oi oi, that's treason you know, Mogamett." He said but his tone made it clear that he had little to no care about it. He was younger the other two, not that that was anything impressive, with blackish brown hair and beard. He was also muscular, he had the look of a man that dedicated his life to battle and his body showed it.

"I don't care you know, Gazef." Mogamett snapped back at the man. Gazef Stronoff, a commoner who became a warrior captain for a lord. While not as famous as other two, he was still an impressive man.

"Do not change the subject you two!" Wilhelm finally snapped at his colleagues, who just smiled innocently at him as if they hadn't done anything wrong.

"No matter how you two view the position of a lord, he still should..."

"Ok, you have made your point, Wilhelm." Kyros interrupted the old butler who looked like he just swallowed something sour.

"But my lord..."

"We have more pressing concerns right now, don't we?" Kyros raised his eyebrow at Wilhelm who finally calmed down and took his place at the table.

He was right after all, they had a dead lord and lady. A dead lord who used to keep the morale up and a dead lady who used to make sure the land was safe against economical and political threats.

"Exactly how bad is the situation?" Kyros asked as before the past life memories and knowledge took the body over, former Kyros spent the last few day closed in his room in depression.

"We do not have an immediate emergency but we have several big problems that will cause emergencies after a while." Gazef said, his face stuck in a frown.

"And those problems are…" Kyros raised his brow, wanting a full explanation rather than ominous statement that might foreshadow bad events.

"It is morale and the work force." Wilhelm said from his place on the table. "The death of lord Alaric has lowered the morales and the death of lady Euphemia's death made some people think that there would be no saving these lands so they left, lowering the morales of those who stayed."

"Therefore…" Gazer continued where Wilhelm left. "Our workforce in almost everything has shrunk by thirty percent and the remaining seventy's morale is an all time low, making their work's quality and quantity lower than usual."

So people felt bad, people left, remaining people felt bad again. If Kyros did not do anything about this then it definitely would become a cycle, repeating again and again. That could not be allowed.

"Do any of you have any possible solutions to these problems?" Sure he could probably figure something out but he had competent underlings, not making use of them would be stupid.

"As long as you show yourself to the people in a regular basis and show them that things are going well, the morale problem will be solved." Mogamett claimed with certainty and the other two nodded along with him.

"What about the lack of manpower?" This question made the ancient mage hesitate, a displeased settled expression on his face.

"There is a way to solve that problem but it is a solution that I abhor the very idea of. One that might cause lord Alaric to raise from grave to give us a piece of his mind, or kill us for even considering it." Mogamett grimaced as the rest of the occupants of the room looked at him.

"Slaves." And then there was chaos.

Gazef and Wilhelm screaming about how such a method was abhorrent and even the thought of it was an insult towards their late lord while Mogamett was trying to defend himself by claiming that he was simply throwing out a solution and that he knew that it was abhorrent as well. But Kyros had a different idea.

He knew that Naofumi had slaves in the original novel and had earned their loyalty. The process of slavery was not illegal on Melromarc after all. The idea had it's merits.

"Mogamett has a point." Kyros finally decided and the argument between the other three immediately stopped. Kyros continued before any of them could try to argue with him.

"I am aware how you three view slavery and you are all right." Kyros took a deep breath before using his Charisma and continuing. "But we do not have a right to be picky right now. We can't feed ourselves OR the people on these lands with dignity and honor." That seemed to took the wind out of their sails as all of them sat back down.

"I still don't feel so good about such a decision, my lord." Gazef said as he looked down, ashamed that he was actually thinking about accepting such a solution.

"If it truly bothers you so much then think of it as saving them." Kyros glared at the warrior captain, who had a confused look on his face.

"Saving... them?" Wilhelm cautiously asked, not sure exactly what his lord was talking about.

"None of us here are the kind of people who would mistreat them. Just think of them as a forced worker and not a slave. One that can earn their freedom through working hard enough."

"Even so..." Gazef still looked hesitant.

"If that doesn't convince you then think each slave we take into our lands as another slave who can not be bought by someone like Idol Rabier." That seemed to do the trick as all of them finally looked convinced. They all knew what kind of man Idol Rabier was and if their act would mean that someone would be saved from his cruelty, then they were ok.

"Also Mogamett..." Kyros continued. "Can you find young magicians that have potential?"

"I can my lord, I still have some connections in the Magicians Guild."

"Good. Then I want Gazef to make sure that the soldiers' morale isn't too down and Wilhelm, I want you to make a list of those who might make a nuisance around demi humans."

"I understand my lord, but what will you be doing, if it is not too rude to ask?" Gazef asked as Wilhelm left the room along with Mogamett.

"I have something important to do before I can deal with the lands."

It was time to choose which gods he would follow.
