CamLiech: Gentle Giant

"Liechtenstein."

She and her brother were on their way to get some lunch, but at the sound of her name, spoken by such a gruff voice, she spun around. A large man stood behind her. Cameroon, if she was not mistaken. He looked angry and scary.

"What do you want?" Switzerland snapped, pushing Liechtenstein slightly behind him.

Cameroon brought up his hand. At first, Liechtenstein thought that he wanted to punch her brother, but then she realised that he held something in his fist.

"Your ribbon…" Cameroon said. "It fell."

Liechtenstein's eyes widened, and her hand immediately went to her hair. Indeed, her ribbon was missing. She felt her face heat up as she nodded towards Cameroon, holding out both of her hands.

"Thank you very much," she said. "Sorry for the bother."

He said nothing as he deposited the ribbon into her hands. He nodded, before he walked away. She watched him go as Switzerland huffed beside her.

"The least he could have done was get rid of that frown," Switzerland said. "I mean, seriously, would it have killed him to at least look a little nicer about it?"

Liechtenstein didn't answer. She hadn't really had much to do with Cameroon before, so the entire encounter was surprising.

After the meeting, Liechtenstein had gone shopping. As she returned to the hotel, she heard something in the street nearby. It sounded like children playing. She paused for a moment, before she decided to go see. She always enjoyed watching children playing, especially after a long day of listening to the problems in the world.

She stopped as soon as the children were in sight. Her eyes went to the tall adult playing soccer with them. She immediately recognised him as Cameroon. But he looked so… different.

One of the children ran and tried to kick the ball, but he'd misjudged his kick and ended up sliding on the ground. The child screamed, and Liechtenstein winced when she saw that his knee had a large scrape.

Cameroon went to tend to the child, and while Liechtenstein couldn't hear what he said, the child soon calmed down. In that moment, Cameroon looked absolutely tender. He looked up then and spotted Liechtenstein. She smiled and nodded, before she turned around. Now that she saw another side of Cameroon, he didn't look so scary.
