Alongside the version I have posted and am still producing, is Version 2. In this version, it's the same story as Version 1...but there is no massive crossover. It is completely secluded to Disney & Square Enix properties as it is in the game. This story stays the same as it follows Sora, Donald, Goofy, and a few others from Disneyland journeying across the Etherium. Enjoy.
The radiant sun begins to shine down upon the majestic world, Disneyland. The skies are becoming orange, the shining Mickey Mouse sun is beginning to set…and the bustling streets of Main Street U.S.A are now beginning to quiet down. It was near closing hours of the park.
Those who had just about the most memorable time of their lives are either departing back to their world, or departing to the Disneyland Resorts across the Disney seas of this realm.
With the CLICK-CLACK of horseshoes, a chariot strolls through the now quiet streets of Main Street, as the 8 toons, with the inclusion of the tiny 4, look about on their home…for it maybe the last they see it. Their destination, the Tomorrowland attraction…and luckily for them…
"NEIIIIIIIIIGH!"
It's quite close to the castle.
"WE'RE HERE!" Chip cries out. Everyone soon peered out of the carriage to see the sun shining down on…Tomorrowland. Gazing at the shining bronze Astro Orbiter standing at the center of the entrance.
"Looks like this is where we get off," Minnie says as she and the other toons begin to-
"BOW WOW! BOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!"
"W-PLUTO, WAIT!" Daisy screams out. Immediately, Pluto got a head start and sped past the group, further into the futuristic section of the park. Everyone looked at each other.
"He'll catch up, don't worry. For now, let's press on." Minnie suggests. "Oh!" Immediately, Chip, Dale, and Gadget soon hopped on the Queen's head.
"Allow us to lead, Your Majesty!" They all say in unison.
"Oh, well…you know this attraction more than we do, so…lead the way." Minnie says curtly.
"We'll point ya past the Astro Orbiter and we'll take ya to Space Mountain!" Dale explains.
Everyone got walking through the Tomorrowland attraction, as many guests both toons and humans alike passed by in awe.
"I HATE public…" Donald mumbles.
"That much is plain to see." Huey quips. As the toons got walking, Goofy decides to break the ice.
"So, uh…you said your home world disappeared too, Jiminy?" Goofy asks the little cricket.
"Yeah, it must've been rough for you, huh?" Webby asks. Jiminy nods as he takes off his hat as he reminisces the horror he has endured.
"Oh dear…it was terrible. Many of us were scattered as the strangest storm blew the whole village away." Jiminy explains.
"That's terrible…" Daisy sighs.
"Still am quite enamored as to just…HOW a world could just…disappear or die out." Huey says pondering.
"Well, it ain't a pretty sight, Huey. Luckily, I was rescued by my mentor, The Blue Fairy. But…hoo boy, it seems she tells of a harrowing tale." Jiminy grimaces.
"That all the other worlds are disappearing, right?" Louie asks.
"Right on the mark. And so, she tasked me to deliver a letter from King Mickey…to all of you. It seems that the only one that found me was Professor Von Drake." Jiminy explains.
"Lad, ye must've traveled a long way to the castle, for but a wee cricket, yourseld, Jiminy. I wish we'd know sooner, and we would've given you a more…hospitable place to rest," Scrooge says apologetically. Jiminy smiles.
"Oh, nonono, Mr. McDuck, it's quite alright. I'm quite used to it, anyway." Jiminy assures.
"Are you sure?" Minnie asks.
"Of course!"
"Well, you won't be traveling in long ways, Jiminy. So long as you STAY in Goofy's pocket, alright?" Donald requests.
"Oh, don't worry, Donald. After all, I've had enough my fair shares of adventuring for a long time." Jiminy assures.
"That makes two of us…" Donald grumbles.
"Here we are!" Dale says in excitement. Everyone soon looked upon the great mountain-like dome towering the entire attraction. The pristine white pinnacle of Tomorrowland's attraction:
Space Mountain.
Everyone got walking through the entrance and up the stairway through the corridor.
For all pre-launch procedures, please place your hats, glasses, and all your possessions on the cargo pouch in front of you. To prepare for launch, pull down on the lap bar, in front of you-
"BRING YOUR HAT YA BIG PALOOKA, WE'RE LEAVING THE WORLD, NOT GOING ON THE RIDE!" Donald exclaims as Goofy was ACTUALLY ready to drop his hat onto the cargo pouch.
"Oh! A-hyuk, sorry!" Goofy says comically as he places his hat back on. Everyone progressed through the neo-lit corridor.
"Zip and Jack should have everything set up. Little did the guests know, hehe, that underneath Tomorrowland's the loading dock where we place other Gummi Ships!" Chip explains.
"Seems like they were both on the mark. Both Della AND Mickey's ship are gone. But, no the bright side, they're getting Scrooge's ship ready." Gadget explains.
"By now, it should be on the ride's Loading Dock, just for you!" Dale concludes.
"Yep, once we get there, Chip, Dale, and I are gonna keep maintenance from inside the ship, while the Zipper and Jack monitors the ship from here." Gadget explains.
"Chip, Dale, Gadget, thank ya for doin' this for us!" Goofy says happily.
"Just doing everything to make sure you all have a safe journey!" Dale replies.
"Yep!/YOU BETCHA!" Chip & Gadget squealed in agreement.
"So other worlds, huh? How're we able to do all that?" Daisy couldn't help but ask. Donald only scoffs.
"Thank Uncle Scrooge, for that." Donald mumbles. The Queen nods in agreement.
"Actually, yes, we do have much to thank for your uncle, Donald," Minnie says as Scrooge soon steps up.
"Y'see, kids, Mickey and I were business partners wantin' to expand Disneyland as a way for all the worlds to come together as one, like the olden days. So, I tried to reel in me old Gummi Bear friends on this venture. For helpin' them in the past, we settled on tradin' with 'em Gummi." Scrooge explains.
"The material that the ships are made out of!" Chip adds.
"Precisely. And with the Gummi Ships, Mickey and I have been tryin' to set up a transit system. The offer's still on the table, but much has happened as of late." Scrooge explains.
"I get your angle is raking in money, and getting the worlds to join as one and all. But uh…what does the King want out of all this?" Louie asks.
"A legacy…that the young lad wants to carry on." Scrooge says in a dark tone. Making the children tilt their heads in confusion.
"Uh…what do you mean?" Daisy asks.
"Well, we were all just characters on a screen, back in the black & white days. Before his death, Mr. Disney created Toontown with but a Magic Pencil. Drawing us to life, Toontown was a world for all us Toons. AFTER Mr. Disney's death, Mickey wanted to expand Toontown as a world for everyone. A means to remember his old man by. With the combined power of Mickey and Master Yen Sid, they both destroyed the barrier that prevents access to other worlds, that way everyone in the Etherium can see it." Minnie explains.
"Eyup! That's how Mickey was able to bring back all sorts of inspiration from other attractions. It just wasn't Toontown anymore; no, sir! It was now called…Disneyland." Goofy finishes.
"That's really sweet of him…" Webby couldn't help but say.
"Say what you will about Mickey, kids. But I've known him as a gallant King with a heart of gold." Minnie assures.
"Which is why we gotta find him, before something bad happens to him." Donald inquires.
"WOOF! WOOF!" Pluto barks in agreement.
"And HEEEEEEERE WE ARE!" Chip, Dale, and Gadget yells out as the group finally reaches the Space Mountain Loading Dock. Awaiting on the track…a shining red and yellow space ship.
"Whoa…" Dewey says as he and Webby looked in awe.
"A spaceship…ALL to ourselves~" Webby sings, ecstatically.
"It…doesn't look so spacious…" Huey couldn't help but say.
"Looks boring." Louie says, bluntly.
"It may not look like much, believe me. I've been tryin' to get more Gummi in hopes of replicatin' the Sunchaser. Unfortunately, after the Gummi Bear's world got destroyed, it seems Gummi Blocks are scattered world-by-world, too." Scrooge explains.
"But don't worry! Gummi's a really durable substance, so trust me when I say, it maybe smaller on the outside, but it's WAAAAY bigger on the inside," Chip explains.
"Well, I ain't complaining. It's our only transportation to other worlds. So, we'll make do with it." Donald says, casually.
"Well, then…I guess it's time to go," Daisy says determinedly. Donald, however stepped up as everyone walked across the catwalk.
"Goofy, you remember what we need to do, RIGHT?!" The duck inquires.
"Huh?" He tilts his head in confusion…until he soon cried out in realization.
"OH! Right! I gotcha, Donald, y'mean while we're in other worlds, we can't let on where we're from, huh?" Goofy asks.
"That's right!" Chip replies.
"We gotta protect the world border!" Dale replies.
"ORDER!" Both Donald & Chip snaps in unison.
"Oh, hehe, Right, world order, hehe!" Donald can only sigh knowing that this'll be a long journey.
"Ehhh...Donald? If you don't mind me asking? Wouldn't we all stand out when going to other worlds? I mean, we're all talking animals." Webby asks as she motions to Goofy and the other ducks.
"We'll probably stand out a bit, but I have some transformation magic that Merlin gave to me. So don't worry about a thing." Donald assured.
"Besides, Traverse Town is a world where everyone from everywhere is muddled up. All that really matters is our getup. But, I'm sure it ain't somethin' to worry about." Scrooge assures.
"We should probably get some new duds while we get there, huh?" Goofy asked.
"OOOOOH! But that would mean we'd get to go OTHERWORDLY SHOPPING!" Daisy cheered out, shaking her Queen who is also her best friend.
"SHOPPING!? BUT WE'RE ON A M-"
"Surely, you don't expect us to break the 'world order,' now do you, Donald?" Daisy says teasingly before Donald could get a word in.
"Are ya kidding? I think I'm good." Dewey protests. Soon the ship's door opened up, releasing a bridge for all to go by.
"Your chariot awaits, your Highness," the buff and tiny mouse, Monterey Jack, says as he and a small fly bow to the royal residence, while on top of the ride controls.
"Zip! Zip!" Buzzes Zipper the fly.
"BOWOWOWOW!" Pluto barks out as he was immediately the first to run into the ship.
"We'll worry about clothing when we get there. For now, once we go through…we may not come back. At least for a while. So, is everyone ready?" Minnie says cautiously.
"YES, YOUR MAJESTY!" Donald, Daisy, and Goofy cry out in salute.
"YEAH!" The ducklings cheered.
"Let's get going, Dale!" Chip yells out as he rapidly scampers into the ship.
"Uh…WAIT FOR ME!" Dale say as he follow the black-nosed chipmunk's lead.
"REMEMBER WHO'S COMING TOO, BOYS!" Gadget exclaims as she scampers into the ship as well.
"ADVENTURE! ADVENTURE! ADVENTURE! ADVENTURE!" Dewey and Webby cheered as the darted into the ship together.
"What use is the adventure if I can't sell all the good stuff?" Louie sighs as he and Huey entered the ship.
"Knowledge?" Huey asks.
"No. Not interesting." Louie says bluntly. Soon enough, the three adult toons were about to enter the ship, until…
"AUNT MINNIE!" Two familiar voices call out. Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy to see everyone, minus Von Drake, on the ramp waving goodbye.
"BE SAFE, PLEASE!" Millie and Melody exclaim.
"Good luck!" Ortensia and Clarabelle cheered.
"Don't be strangers!" Horace & Oswald cheered.
"GOOD LUCK OUT THERE!" April and June cries out.
"BRING US SOMETHING GOOD, TOO!" May adds.
"JUST DON'T CAUSE TROUBLE FOR MRS. BEAKLEY!" Donald yelled out as he entered the ship.
"Ahem," Mrs. Beakley says tapping her foot…literally noticing the crossed fingers behind the three's back. The three ducklings chuckled bashfully.
"PREPARE FOR LAUGH IN T-10!" Monterey Jack commands.
"ZIP-ZIP!"
"Stay safe, dad…" Max says in concern as his old man winked at him, with a great big smile on his face as Goofy entered the ship.
"You better get goin, before you get left behind, your highness," Jack suggests as Minnie nods. The moment she reached the ship's door however,
"Your Majesty," Oswald called out, making Minnie look up. He had but this to say:
"Good luck…and please…find him."
"I will, my Prince." Minnie assures with a warm smile on her face. As goodbyes have been finished, the majestic mouse Queen enters the ship, and the door closed behind her.
WHOOOOOSH! Is the sweet sound of the roaring engine…as the ship began to levitate off the ramp.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1!
"BLAST OFF!" Donald screams out as the Gummi Ship's engine flared up with such might…and soon…
It blasts off into the tunnel as they began to glow within each movement.
"TURN THE TRACKS!" Monterey Jack commanded as Zipper presses a singular button on the command. As the ship travels through the rollercoaster ride, the tracks were changed…making Donald maneuver the ship to turn left.
Following the tracks, Donald noticed the tracks leading up…up, and up at a 90-degree angle. The duck pilot followed the path as the ship was now flying to the highest Space Mountain could go.
Soon, he can see it. Majestic stars in the nighttime sky. The ship sped with all its might as…
BOOM!
Almost as if it was a cannon, the ship was blasted out of Space Mountain and was sent flying high, and high into the skies…and out of Disneyland's atmosphere.
Minnie looked back, seeing her own Kingdom distances away from her.
"Now, everyone, let's get going!" Donald shouted out as the ship was now traveling through the star-covered skies of space.
"NEXT SET COURSE FOR TRAVERSE TOWN!" He shouts out.
"YEAH!" Everyone cheered as the adventure…begins.
Sora's House
Another blissful night in the tropical lands of Destiny Islands. The skies turn from the brightest of sunsets...to the darkest of nights...a dark...and stormy night. Nightime...where the shadows always lurk. It was the eve of the Destiny Festival, the last day of Summer...until all the kids throughout the village return to their dull, and boring hours of school.
In the household of our Spiky-haired protagonist, Sora lays upon his bed...with his backpack and suitcases...prepared for tomorrow's trip after the festivities. The only thing the boy has in his mind...was mutton. He smacked his lips, completely envisioning the succulent taste of meat.
"Mmmmmmm...Mutton~" Sora muses. Many thoughts were swarming through Sora's head...one of mutton...one of the festivities and the Luau tomorrow night...and then...he sat on the bed...thinking about what Kairi told him earlier today.
"I just can't wait. One we set sail, it'll be great." He heard in his mind.
"Yeah...me too..." Sora says as he looks at the backpacks and provisions set on the floor...as he only looks at the traveling gear in concern. "But...I'm just not sure if I'm ready yet..." he simply says to himself. Soon...his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by large rumbling coming from outside.
He took a look outside. The pale moonlight has gone...and in its wake are storm clouds completely covering the night sky with its gloom. To Sora, this could only mean one thing...
"A storm? But...there was nothing on the news about a storm..." Sora says looking up in confusion. His eyes widen in realization.
"The raft!" Sora said to himself.
"Sora, dinner's ready, c'mon down!" The boy heard his mother shout out from downstairs, behind the door. The boy only looked frantically...he didn't want to miss meatloaf night for anything...but this...has importance.
"Uh...keep it warm for me, mom, I'm heading out!" Sora says as he rose up from the bed, and placed his shoes on, immediately rushing out his bedroom door, down the stairs. He couldn't see his mother in sight, but she heard what the boy says, as he rushed down the dimly lit hallway into the fancy living room.
"At this hour, Sora? It'll rain." His mother protested.
"I've gotta check on something in the islands, I'll be back soon, I promise!" Sora called out as he rushed to the door, completely closing it, before his mother could have a different say to this.
As the boy rushed down the nightfall pathway through the village, a familiar shrouded figure only looked at him, unbeknownst to the spiky-haired boy. The shrouded figure soon looked up the sky to see something forming from within the clouds...something shining in red began to form in the sky...as electrical currents swam around it, making the village rumble.
The man did not react. He only looked down from the sky, and the watched Sora sailing to the islands. The shrouded man only had one thing to say.
"The door...is opening." He says.
Destiny Islands
Heavily rowing with such rigor and frustration, Sora sails at the speed of light through the pitch-black oceans, seeing the shores in the distance. There was no jaunty tune to sing this time, there was no positives in his mind. The only thing the boy needed to focus on, was getting to the islands, and to protect the raft from this storm. As he began rowing, he looked up at the cloudy skies...he tilts his head in confusion as he sees something forming from under the clouds...something glowing a bright red.
"I'm pretty sure storms aren't supposed to have something like this..." Sora says as a gust of wind, blasted his hair forward and back. The spiky-haired boy once recalled Tidus and Wakka talking about some sort of...storm that's almost like this. They call it...Sin...a monster that hides beneath the waves. But...looking a storm like this...didn't match their description.
Though...it's something he doesn't want to draw he soon realizes one thing: where's the rain? Such...peculiar whether patterns...it's just...far from ordinary, to the spiky-haired boy. With so much warping through his head, the boy soon rowed to the docks, and quickly got out.
Sora...
The boy looked around, as he suddenly heard something calling his name. It was unrecognizable...but at the same time...the boy felt like he heard this voice before. But he shrugged it off as he looked at the docks to see a surprise.
"Riku's boat...and Kairi's, too! They must be here to protect the raft, too. I have to find them." Sora says determinedly as he walked from the docks to the beach. Unbeknownst to him...some familiar...shadows, began forming from the shadows of the wood.
So much to do...so little time...take your time...don't be afraid.
As the winds of this...bizarre storm blew hard, as the tropical trees swung forward and back at a frantic pace, Sora simply ran through the chaos, unbeknownst of the creatures, slowly following him. Soon...he took a notice of something...something that struct the boy odd: a door.
The door is still shut. Now, step forward...can you do it?
The voice...buzzing from the back of his skull. It almost felt like he's heard this before. He didn't know where...but he simply did as fate told him. As curiosity took the boy, he ran to the door...resting in what used to be a hole...in the base of the tree, leading to their secret hideout.
"Where did this door come from? It...looks...familiar...and I don't know why..." Sora says as he only looked in awe at the mahogany silver door. He soon, tried to open it, but the moment he turned the knob...he phased through it. It's all coming back to him.
The Door cannot open just yet...first...you must prepare yourself for the outside world...
"The dream..." Sora says...as the wind blew through his spiky hair. There's nothing he could do at this point. "If I can't open it, then I'll have to come back for it. Right now, I've gotta find Riku and Kairi." Sora says to himself as he made his destination clear. But the moment he turned around...
"WHA?!" Sora cried out. Was the moment the shadows crowded him. The haunting buggers...with eyes a piercing and daunting yellow. It was definitely coming back to the boy. These are the shadows he had to face in his dreams. Now...they're back...and this time, dream or not, he can't call forth his weapon...making him vulnerable for an attack.
There will be times you have to fight...keep your light burning strong.
"Whatever you want me to do here, voice, I'm not really at the most comforting position to do it in...so I've gotta..." Sora says as he fearfully crept back as the shadows crept forth. At that moment...the shadows leap!
"RUN!" Sora cried out as he got out of the way of the shadow's strikes, making the creatures slam through the transparent wall, giving Sora the opportunity to run like hell. He didn't know just where to run to...but he needed to run. No...he was going to row back home, but the shadows...they creatures were ripping the docks apart...and...scratching with their bare claws the boats. Sora...was stranded.
"This...this can't be happening...it has to be my dream...it-it can't be real!" Sora says fraught with peril in his face, as he traversed through the sand. He couldn't find Riku, he couldn't find Kairi, he couldn't open the door...and now...the creatures are eating up the boats. Could this be the end of him?
"Huh?" Sora says...as his peril turned to confusion...as he noticed something...no. Someone, standing at a lone oasis just atop the shack...a familiar face...was watching the sea...and watching the literal bright ruby eye of the storm.
"Riku!" Sora says as he soon made a run for it, as the shadows regrouped and leaped at the boy, only to miss once again, landing and buried on the sands.
Sora quickly, climbed the shack structure, as the shadows were closing in on the boy. He hoisted himself up, but the moment he did...
SLASH!
"AH!" Sora winced...as he felt a dreadfully familiar scratch on his leg. A shadow's claws were seeping in on the boy's skin. Sora quickly, kicked it off, and hoisted himself to the top of the structure, harm's way out of the monsters' sharp clutches. He made a run for it, to the oasis where Riku's standing.
The oasis...Riku's spot. Where the sweet, sweet, Paopu Fruits grow...and where Riku himself can take in the blissful view of the sun...or in tonight's case...the view of the harrowing red ball...forming in the clouded sky. The wind...was howling like never before.
"RIKU!" Sora called out racing to the boy, as the silver-haired boy simply watched the view.
"Riku, what are you doing here?! What is THAT?! How's the raft, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHERE'S KAIRI!" Sora called out, clearly having a billion questions. Riku however...was staying silent.
"RIKU!?" Sora called out once more.
"The door...is opening." The silver-haired boy simply says.
"W-what?! WHERE'S EVERYONE, WHERE'S THE RAFT?!" Sora yelled out in alarm. Riku didn't even bother to look back at the boy. He simply continued his cryptic speech.
"We won't need a raft now, Sora. The door's opening...and now...we can get to the outside world!" Riku says in excitement. That's one question solved...in a way. Though Sora has many...if not a thousand questions in mind.
"W-what?! Um...okay, I guess...but what about Kairi? A-and Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie?! Aren't they coming too?! We can't abandon them, we've gotta find them!" Sora yelled out, in favor of his friends. Riku, finally turned to the spiky-haired boy.
"They're coming with us! ALL of them!" Riku assured, taking the boy back in surprise. Riku soon looked up at the great big ball of death just hovering in the night sky.
"Don't you see, Sora? Once we step through, we may never be able to come back. We may never be able to see our parents again." Riku says, as the boy only looked at the other boy in fear.
"N-never come back? Never see my mom and dad again...?" Sora says in fear...and hurt. Had he not known that the day of leaving them was today...he would've said something. Now he lowers his head in sadness...realizing that he may never see them again.
"There's no turning back now, Sora. This may be our only chance to see the outside world. We can't let fear stop us." Riku says to the spiky-haired boy. Sora only looks at his friend in confusion and concern. Riku soon...extended his hand.
"Riku..." Sora simply says. Suddenly...taking the spiky-haired boy by surprise, a familiar black pool...began swirling from below both of their feet. He soon took notice of Riku sinking down, but the silver-haired boy only smiled bravely.
"RIKU!" Sora cried out.
"I'M NOT AFRAID OF THE DARKNESS! TAKE MY HAND SORA, AND WE'LL IT TOGETHER!" Riku yelled out in determination. The darkness was suddenly beginning to cover feet, as it soon crawled up and up, making Sora trying to catch the boy in alarm.
"RIKU!" Sora says as he soon tries to run to the boy, but to his surprise, the darkness was suddenly seeping to the boy's shoes as well, making him stuck. In a panic, the spiky-haired boy tries to reach out for his best friend's hand...as Riku only looks at the boy in a calm and collective smirk.
"If the world is made up of light and darkness...then WE'LL be the darkness." Riku says calmly as the darkness is slowly getting a hold of the two boys...as they both sank, and sank...until soon...
"Riku...!" Sora says in hopelessness...as everything soon...began turning black.
In this hand, take this key
Immediately, Sora's eyes snapped open. Only to find himself in the pitch-black abyss once more. No platform, no destiny…just an abyss. But as he descends this abyss…he hears something: A creed.
So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking
It's wielder you one day shall be.
Suddenly, piercing through this pitch-black darkness came a light, shining in the distance. Sora sees it. Floating in the center of the darkness…shining a billowing bright light.
A key.
A shining oversized skeleton key with a shining gold handle and a deep blue grip. Shimmering brightly is its hilt and teeth of pure silver. Attached to the key is a shining shimmering silver chain. Attached to it is a shimmering silver circle with 2 other circles atop it…forming like ears.
The key…to his survival.
"Simple act of taking…?" Sora echoes in intrigue as he swam through the darkness and approached the shimmering key. He only said not a word…as he slowly takes the key.
Unfortunately, the light completely dims the moment he took it. Nothing happens. The boy could only sigh in defeat.
"I guess…I guess I don't have the makings, huh?" He says sadly. Or at least…so he thought.
Before the boy could even react, the Keyblade began to shine such a piercing bright light. A light strong enough to completely envelope him, and the entire dark abyss. A light powerful enough to completely cover the boy's eyesight.
A light…powerful to cleave away the darkness.
Through it all…Sora could hear these words said to him…
May your heart be your guiding key, Sora.
BOOOOOOM!
With a great billowing explosion of light, Sora returns to the tropical oasis, with a golden glow surrounding him. The boy scanned his surroundings to see that he was back on the island…but Riku is gone, and the storm is still brewing.
And yet…he sensed something. He sensed that he was holding something in his right hand. The boy raised it…and lo and behold it was the weapon. The skeleton key. But…what is it?
"Keyblade..." echoed a voice. Perhaps the same voice from his dream.
"Keyblade..."
"Keyblade..."
"Keyblade..." The boy repeated.
His time of admiring the weapon was over. Right now, it appears the boy has some unwanted company in the form of shadows. All he could see from them are their glowing gold eyes. And yet…they stood idly by and stared at the Keyblade. It's almost as if...
"They're...afraid of this thing..." Sora says to himself, looking at the blade in awe, as the shadows did. He soon narrowed his eyes...on instinct, grips the blade in his hand.
"I don't know how you...things are here, but I'm gonna let you destroy my home!" Sora says, determinedly. These...creatures appear to have the same fighting style as his dreams. So, the boy mirrors his dreams, and slashed the creatures out with his sword...or Keyblade.
SLASH!
He took notice that his slashes seem more...effective against these creatures, in comparison to his dreams. Dream or not...could it be that this...Keyblade has greater power? If so...then just what?
However, the boy just couldn't dawdle on such a thought. Right now, staying alive...whilst finding out just what to do next, is the spiky-haired boy's top priority.
As more and more shadows appeared, Sora kept flailing his newfound weapon, it only reduced them all into ash. Precisely as the boy remembered it.
As the boy already grew tired and tired against the endless army, more and more appeared. Before the boy even knew it, the shadows surrounded him.
"There's no end to these guys...what am I supposed to do here...?" Sora says in exasperation as the creatures slowly crept and crept, closing in on the spiky-haired boy. Suddenly...the blade began to shake.
"W-WOAH-WHAT THE HECK?!" The boy yelled out frantically, as the keyblade began to shake, and move on its own. The first thing it does, is carve a forward path, slicing down all the shadows in front of him, as the circular army began a crescent. The key suddenly pointed forward...to the door, on the far side of the island.
"The door...I'm guessing that's where I've gotta go." Sora says to himself. He narrowed his eyes. Just as the shadows soon leaped up in the air, to ambush him...
"RUN!" Sora yelled out as he ran at fast pace, away from the shadows, making them all either falling to the ground, or falling to the ocean. Sora, soon ran at a rapid pace, retracing his steps.
The boy soon jumps off the shack, and soon as he ran through the beach. Just standing on the base of the tree…is a door. The shining mahogany, pristine white door.
The boy pulled on the doorknob...only for it to be stuck. Only to lock him out. The boy didn't turn around, but the sound of the sand mushing behind him...can only mean danger approaches him from behind.
"Don't call me and then just...lock me out..." Sora sighs in disappointment...but more fear.
Be ready...for your journey here, is almost at an end...and a new one begins
Soon...the boy suddenly felt the blade shaking, once more. The boy slowly raised the hand the blade is being held...and pointed it to the door.
"Is this what you want...?" Sora asks. He soon found his answer.
A bright beam of light was suddenly shining from the tip of the blade. The boy looks at the pure light in awe...almost as if the key was resonating with the door...as all keys would with doors.
"WOAH!" The boy says when a projectile of light suddenly blasted out from the blade. A keyhole shaped symbol was formed on the center of the door, as the light blasted within it. The boy only looks in confusion, as the scene unfolds. The intense light, was enough to make the shadows behind the spiky-haired boy scram...at least for now.
CLICK!
A clicking sound was heard. The light from both the key and the door was soon dimmed down. The boy looked in amazement...to which the door suddenly creaked open, almost as if it hasn't been locked. Sora can only look at this...keyblade in awe...and amusement. He only has just...one question to bear in mind.
"Just...what is this thing?" Sora asks himself. He soon lowers the blade, and shook his head, realizing the task at hand. Before anymore shadows could intervene, the boy quickly entered the secret cave.
The Cave
Even greater darkness lurks, greater than it once was. For once, as Sora traverse through the cave...he can only feel such anxiety within each moment, as the hollow winds, echoed throughout the caves. The boy could only grimace, for what comes this way. He soon raced to the center of the cave...finding a keyhole...and...
"Kairi?" Sora asks. The auburn-haired girl, simply watching the wooden door...without even saying a single word. She soon slowly turned to Sora...but the boy felt something off. The boy felt it in her eyes...he sees...emptiness in her eyes. Her shining blue eyes...now glows a diminish blue. The light in her eyes...almost felt completely sucked away. The auburn-haired girl soon spoke up.
"Sora..." The auburn-haired girl droned monotonously. This too, the boy felt was off. Even the tone in her voice felt...dimmed. The boy only looked at the spiky-haired girl in concern...she felt...lifeless.
"Kairi...?" The spiky-haired boy asks in concern. He soon extended his arm out for her. As did she...almost hypnotically. However, the moment they Kairi was or could've said something out...
BOOM!
With a great explosion, a powerful gust of wind, suddenly blew from the keyhole from the door behind Kairi, blasting Kairi forward to Sora, from the powerful wind gust.
"KAIRI!" Sora yelled out extending his arms, to catch Kairi in his arms...but to the boy's confusion, the moment he tried to snatch her, she suddenly phased through him...and suddenly disappeared. The spiky-haired boy looked around, frantically...but was immediately cut short, when the powerful gust of wind blew him away, out of the cave.
The Islands
Flung out of the cave, the boy slammed to the ground, with sand, covering the boy's spiky hair and bright red clothing. The boy rose from the ground...only to see the islands...in an even worse shape than ever before.
He could only look in horror as Destiny Islands, the land he grew up in... the land he played and played throughout the blissful daylight sun. It's all gone. And all that stands is the tiny piece of land he's standing on.
And there above him...comes the very eye of the storm. A crimson ball of horror that everything is being sent to.
"T-the islands! WHAT HAPPENED?!" Sora yelled out in horror.
Remember, Sora. The light will always covet you...blanket you...protect you. Don't be afraid...and do not let your light burn away too soon. Light will always be your friend. Yet you must forget...
Sora grimaced in horror. He remembers his dream well...and he remembers what happens in his dream.
He knows what comes next.
"Oh no..." Sora gulped as he felt the wind blowing through his spiky hair. The boy grimaced and turned around seeing his shadow arose…and enlarge.
The closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes
The boy took a deep breath, and soon narrowed his eyes as his shadow soon rose and rose, just like his dream. Just like before, the shadow formed into the same shadow behemoth he has fought before.
But don't be afraid...
"I don't know why you're here…and what you want…but I'm done being afraid!" Sora asserts as he gripped his blade. The shadow colossus only looked at the spiky-haired boy with its beady yellow eyes.
Sora, bravely charged at the monster, and at instinct slashed the monster in the hands, being the only target within reach. He slashed and slashed with all his might. This time, he feels that the damage is more effective than the dream battle. An effect of the monster's weakness towards the Keyblade.
Just like in Sora's dream, the monster began charging up such powerful dark energy from its fist, rising his arms out making Sora only pout in annoyance, seeing the arm turn out of reach like before.
"STOP DOING THAT~!" Sora whined.
The monster, of course, didn't...or couldn't respond. The monster only hurled his fist to the island sands, making the spiky-haired boy dodge.
THUD!
The boy gripped his blade even further knowing what will come up. The smaller shadows, arising from the puddles of darkness, forming in the island sand. Sora, with great might slashed the shadow spawns.
Soon, this time giving easy work to the smaller shadows, the pool of darkness began to disappear, and the shadow colossus rose his hand up once more, giving Sora the opportunity to slash down the enemy's hand like crazy, knowing that it's doing some effective work.
Seeing the scratch marks, the boy smiled proudly, but the battle was far from done. The spiky-haired boy gripped his keyblade in determination, prepared for the shadow colossus' next attack. Remembering back from his battle in his dreams, the shadow colossus forms a shadowy volley from his chest. The boy readies himself to deflect as many volleys as possible.
The monster...had other ideas.
Taking Sora by surprise, the shadow colossus suddenly reached down for something, as he landed on the ground headfirst with a great big...
THUD!
Sora, quickly leaped out of the way from the shockwave. The boy only looks in confusion and concern as he sees the shadow colossus rummaging for something from below the island sands...but what? What could possibly be buried down below so deep?
The boy looked in surprise, as the shadow colossus finally found what he had sought, and he raised it up in his shadowy grasped for all to see. A miniature version of the black and red sphere of destruction up above. Soon...the colossus smashes the miniature sphere in his hand...and threw the remains up high in the sky. Black and pink energy dusts began to blissfully fly down towards the boy, as if it were snow.
"This is a new attack...but that won't stop me! I'LL STOP YOU!" Sora yelled out as he charged at the shadow colossus' hand, slashing it with such vigor as the shadow balls blasted down the ground each moment they touch the ground.
"On the other hand, there's nothing I can use to deflect with to his face..." Sora grimaced seeing there really isn't anything...but the suddenly, to his surprise his blade began reacting on its own.
"What now?!" Sora says in fear as the keyblade soon raised towards one of the darkballs. Light began emanating from the tip of the blade. Suddenly the moment the dark ball flew down...was the moment the blade caught the ball in a bright globe of light.
"What's it...doing? A... light...ball?" Sora says in confusion as the darkball captured within the globe, suddenly began glowing a bright light from within the dome...turning the darkball into...a lightball.
"Whoa..." Sora says in awe. He soon narrowed his eyes at the shadowy creature, and a smirk curled on his lips. He aimed the light ball, and soon projected it out from the keyblade, sending it with a great speed of light the same as a dark volley. The same results...as the dream...but one completely different.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Once again, the monster hissed in pain with a great garbled sound...the same as all monsters would. The light ball made a blunt contact with the shadow's face. The being however...did not jerk around this time, no something different occurred. The wind began to pick up, and the debris all around the platform...suddenly began to fly away to the red and black vortex in the sky.
The boy, felt light...he felt he was suddenly being carried. He grabbed on to the nearest plank of wood, to support himself. He couldn't die...not just yet. It can't end like this. Instead of the monster dissolving into the darkness, as in the dream...the shadow soon only let the wind take him...as he flew off his feet. Sora can only look to see the monster being sucked into the vortex...like the rest of whatever remains of the islands.
But don't be afraid...
"I-I CAN'T HOLD ON!" Sora says straining, completely ignoring the voice, knowing that much more is going on than...and he has the right to be afraid. Amidst the chaos surrounding the boy, the boy can only think about all the people he loved...suddenly disappearing from his own eyes. The islands...the city...his family...Riku...Kairi...the boy couldn't hold on much longer...
You hold the mightiest weapon of all...
"Riku...Kairi...mom...everyone..." Sora says to himself in sadness. This wasn't a dream...there's no telling just what fate lies beyond him...once he gets sucked through that vortex. But...he has no choice...but to find out. He lets go of the debris.
So, don't forget:
"WHOA-OHHHHHHHHHHAHHHHHHH!" Sora screamed out, as the wind takes him...through the vortex...taking one last look...at the platform: the last monument, and the last memory...of Destiny Islands.
You are the one...who will open the door
Everything...went...black.
