A/N:

This entire journey has been supported by readers just like you, and you yourself. Whether monetarily on pa-atreon or with good reviews, or even just by the act of reading the story itself. I guess it's a good time to let you know that I just officially uploaded the very last chapter (barring any epilogues) on my pa-atreon page. Thank you so much for sticking with me so long. Oak might have ended, but I haven't. We just finished a poll on the same pa-atreon page that means the next story I'll be working on is a self insert into the body of Clark Kent in the MCU (Update; The first five chapters of that, along with the first three chapters of an SI into an OC firebender during the 100 year war are both live on pa-atreon right now). Feel free to follow or favourite my profile so you can get notified once that comes out. Thank you. Thank you all so much.

There was a visible change in Mewtwo, almost as if he had become resigned to something, and from there, the fight changed. He tossed Gai away like a ragdoll, flew straight into the air to meet Igneel's charge, and ignored Kenpachi's attempts to blast him with long-range attacks. His power was through the roof. The subtle psychic pressure I had been forced to adapt to suddenly tripled, as it felt like I had to force my body to take each breath it managed to.

Igneel was no match for this suped-up version, mega evolved or not. Igneel struck with all the explosive force and firepower of a nuclear weapon, and Mewtwo didn't care. Igneel's first punch was caught in a lax grip, and when my Pokémon tried to pull that same hand away, Mewtwo showed no restraint in using the distraction to send haymaker after haymaker right to Igneel's head. Each punch left a shockwave that could actually be felt all the way down here. It wasn't surprising when Igneel began to lose altitude and fall towards the ground. From there, Mewtwo accepted the lack of enemies and flew right for Dragapult. Broly and Ino's attempt to get in his way was smashed aside.

The pseudo-legendary was given more than enough time to prepare for Mewtwo's arrival, but that did little beyond delaying the unleashed legendary for a second. Dragapult tried to phase out of this realm of reality to retreat, but Mewtwo did nothing but stretch out a hand, a hand practically glowing with psychic power, and grab the dragon-ghost by the tail. It could do little as Mewtwo pulled it closer and began to work. Punch after punch was sent to the Dragon's head. Lance noticed this, and mega-Dragonite was in their midst with the aura of extreme speed around it.

Two dragons on one, and Mewtwo was still winning. They brought their best to bear, but to Mewtwo, even that was insufficient. When Igneel got his bearings, he was back with them. Broly and Kenpachi teamed up to fire off a platform of stone with enough power to get to them at speeds close to that of sound. Gai, on the platform, had his fists stretched out and ready. We were quickly reaching the limits of the sixth gate. We still had the seventh, but even with me filling him with all the energy I had, he'd only be able to keep it up for two minutes. I had to let everyone soften Mewtwo up a bit more before that even became an option.

When Igneel arrived, he brought the heat that the fight had been lacking, moving with the force of a sun. I could see Mewtwo's skin crack just from prolonged exposure to Igneel's aura of blue flames, and he was doing his best to maneuver the two dragons in between him and the predator. For some reason, he was more willing to face Lance's Pokémon than mine. When Gai got to the right altitude, he was quick to shoot off the platform and engage Mewtwo. This time, the psychic kept up with each of Gai's attacks, regardless of the intensity my fighting dragon fought with. Punch after punch was waved away, and this was all while being hounded by three powerful dragons. All that firepower, and they still hadn't been able to put Mewtwo on the back foot.

I allowed the situation to evolve and turned to Cynthia's fight against the Hoenn champions, and I was somewhat unsurprised to find her still in the game. She had returned Lucario for some reason, and now it was Garchomp against twelve champion-class Pokémon. It wasn't losing. Yes, you heard that right. Twelve champion-level Pokémon, and Mega Garchomp was not losing.

As it took advantage of Walrien's crippled state to dig into it with powerful arm blades enhanced with the vibrations of a localized earthquake that turned its arms into a buzzsaw, I amended my previous assessment. Garchomp was winning. Wallace had little choice but to return his Pokémon, quite possibly his second heaviest hitter behind Milotic. When Gyarados tried to crash on it, the ground-type dragon actually caught the massive sea serpent's fangs in its grip and refused to let go.

Two seconds later, another one of Wallace's Pokémon was returned as Garchomp lit up with all the power of a lightning bolt, shocking the atrocious Pokémon to the next dimension. Aggron and Claydol were nothing more than playthings to Garchomp as it moved between them, overpowering Aggron and practically ignoring Claydol's attempts to influence its mind. Whatever the two Pokémon had to bring to the table was extinguished as Aggron overextended a single attack, too used to being untouchable beneath its steel armor, and Garchomp's buzzsaw put that to the test. The attack produced a hideous grinding sound as it met the immovable object that was Aggron, but still something had to give, and when that thing proved to be Aggron's armor, the Pokémon panicked. That was one thing I was beginning to notice about champion-class Pokémon. They were too used to being at the top. That made them complacent.

The panicked Aggron jerked away from Garchomp's attack, and that was all the mega-evolved Pokémon needed. It shot away from Aggron with the power of a jet engine and crashed right into Claydol. Lacking any steel armor for defense, the powerful psychic was returned as Garchomp's blade dug halfway into its neck in the space between seconds.

Steelix tore the ground apart with an earthquake as it approached the mega-evolved Pokémon, but that availed it little as Garchomp disappeared from its previous position and made its way straight for Aggron as the massive steel behemoth was still trying to get its bearings. There was little it could do beyond trying to delay the inevitable as much as possible. Milotic's attempts to aid from a distance were practically ignored, and Metagross had bigger problems to deal with, stuck in what looked like a gravity well. I had no idea how Lucario had pulled that one off, but I resolved never to piss off that fighting type in my life.

I was forced to turn my attention back to the battle of the dragons as I heard Dragonite roar in pain. It was a sight to see the Mega evolved Pokémon cradle a clearly broken arm to its chest. Fuck. It was brutal, with the bone visibly sticking out. It kept fighting, but the spark was gone. Mewtwo had been beating them four on one. Three and a half on one was guaranteed to not end well for all involved.

Dragonite was more hesitant moving forward. Another example of the thing I had been noticing. Champion-class Pokémon did not understand weakness. They weren't used to it. Virtually all champion-class Pokémon were monsters from the beginning. Of course, they weren't suited to being the weaker party. They fought like they were unused to being on the backfoot, and I could see it. Cynthia was the youngest champion, and apart from her, the second youngest, Lance, had been champion for over a decade. All four of the people with me were too used to being at the top of the food chain, and the same applied to their Pokémon. More like three people with me, as I watched Oak and Dragonite blend into the background seamlessly, not interfering in any of the battles. The old man was allowing us all to spend our strength on either Mewtwo or each other.

I wondered who he'd go after if given the opportunity. Mewtwo or the other champions?

The other champions were the less risky option. I honestly gave him good odds against Lance or Cynthia, even with their mega-evolved Pokémon. Each member of Oak's team was a monster, and they were fresh. Not a single one, beyond Dragonite, had put a single claw into the battle that raged around us. I rubbed Kisame's scales to keep myself calm as Igneel was sent flying to the ground. I gave the area he landed a considering look as much of the stone around him began to heat up and turn cherry red. He was getting hotter every second. Clearly building up to our shared magnum opus. I had two moves I had placed in reserve for a situation just like this one. Facing an opponent strong enough to take everything we have up our sleeves and still keep standing.

Broly and Kenpachi were clearly displeased with being stuck out of the battle for so long and decided to do something about it. Kenpachi focused his strength into the ground, lifting up massive stone pillars, and Broly took control of them one by one as they appeared. As a single swipe of Kenpachi's tail smashed one to rubble, and Broly took control of that rubble, sending the small stones flying at Mewtwo with the force of bullets, I admired their teamwork. Broly's control was something else as he ensured each rock missed the dragons in the sky and went straight for the aggressive psychic.

Mewtwo took the hits unflinchingly, continuing his relentless pursuit of Dragapult. At this point, things were beginning to drag on, and as I had that thought, it seemed that Mewtwo thought the same. He took hold of Gai's hand as the powerful dragon sent a punch through his midsection. With that grip, it was child's play for him to send Gai rocketing back to the ground.

Igneel's fire blasts were ignored as he blasted forward. Dragapult tried to retreat, but that was ineffective in the face of Mewtwo's speed. This time, when Mewtwo got his hands on Dragapult, he flew off with the ghost clutched in his unrelenting grip. Dragonite and Igneel tried to give chase, but they were too slow. Mewtwo, with his eyes and body glowing with power, put a hand on each part of Dragapult's body and tore the Pokémon in half. In fucking half. Lance screamed in shock. I didn't hear him as I realized shit had just hit the fucking fan.

Dragonite flew forward, seeking revenge, but that was useless as it was caught in a psychic grip, and the bones in its wings were shattered before it was sent to the floor.

Fuck. Mewtwo unleashed? What the actual fuck? "Seventh gate!" I screamed at Gai as Mewtwo turned to Igneel with a nasty look in his eyes. Gai glowed with a red aura as this time, he didn't even need to wait for Kenpachi and Broly to create a platform. He bent his legs and jumped. Mewtwo was too slow to react to the first punch, and it was on. I'd never fully unleashed Gai on a target without ever asking him to hold back, so this kind of power was a shock to me as much as it was to the psychic who was taking every hit.

Mewtwo crashing to the ground was met with Gai appearing in front of him in a blur of motion I couldn't even track through Igneel's eyes. They collided with each other, and Mewtwo flew right through the body of one of Wallace's Pokémon. I couldn't see which one; it was just nothing but bloody mist as Gai sent the invulnerable Mewtwo flying at speeds past that of sound. Landing in the midst of the combat between the Hoenn champions and Cynthia, neither of the battling titans slowed down. Gai was in front of Mewtwo again, but this time the psychic was able to actually teleport Steelix right in front of him. Gai's punch was unstoppable as he caved the steel snake's head right in and flew for Mewtwo again. That was the dance they danced, all happening in less than five actual seconds. Gai was fast, and considering the actual deadline we had, we had no time to waste with hesitation.

Gai and Mewtwo tore through the Hoenn Pokémon as the former chased and the latter ran. Even Metagross was used as a shield by Mewtwo as he ripped the Pokémon from the gravity well it was trapped in. The supercomputer Pokémon was able to teleport out of Gai's way in time, but that did little to prevent it from being sent flying as Gai's fist collided with Mewtwo's forearm, breaking the limb and sending all the Pokémon around them flying. Gai kept moving, and I watched as Mewtwo took hit after hit. Each punch landing with the speed and force of a bullet from a Gatling gun. Twenty seconds gone now. The drainage from keeping the seventh gate up was beyond what I expected. The stress on Gai's body as well. It was all ridiculous. I did my best to compensate, taking as much of the pain into my own body as I could and soothing him with my aura.

I slumped to the floor, but I was okay. Gai was the one in danger as he punched Mewtwo through a section of the stands.

Mewtwo teleported away, but I tracked him with Ino's senses, and Gai was upon him again. The barrier meant he couldn't leave this arena. Twenty-five seconds, and Mewtwo was still somehow standing. He'd been forced to regenerate broken limbs and even an entire hand once when Gai had grabbed onto it before punching the rest of Mewtwo's body away. Even with all of that, he remained active. We, no, Gai took a step forward, and I realized it was over. Gai fell. His body was actually shutting down.

Fuck. Did his heart actually give out? I pushed all the aura I could into Gai's body. I'd gotten better at this. I could feel his body's natural healing begin to kick in, but it was slow and directed at the wrong areas. The fighter in him went to focus on the limbs, ignoring the heart that was the real problem. I shifted things around as I stoked his aura with my own and lost grip on reality as I focused on not losing another of my Pokémon today.

When I was sure Gai would live, I opened my eyes and saw Mewtwo struggling to stand. A memory of what had happened appeared in my mind. Mewtwo had started to fly towards Gai, sensing weakness, but it had fallen to the floor, racked with pain. His body was beginning to deteriorate even faster, I realized. He managed to make it to his feet again, and I unleashed the second move I had in my back pocket. When I sent Igneel his orders, his smirk was practically savage.

As Gai and Mewtwo had fought, so had Sabrina and the Hoenn Pokémon the two monsters hadn't torn apart in their clash. Now was the perfect time to end all the battles. Igneel shot off at top speed and grabbed right onto Mewtwo, sending both of them right towards the Hoenn Pokémon. The traitors. I played with the thought of asking Sabrina to retreat Garchomp, but it would probably survive the attack, and I didn't want to risk warning any of my enemies about what was coming.

The heat Igneel had been building up within himself began to leak in preparation for what was coming. Once they arrived at a good enough distance from me, Igneel triggered the attack, and all I knew was white.

With forewarning, Kenpachi, Broly, Ino, and Kisame had layered protections around us all, and I'd sent Gai back to his Poké Ball. That was probably the only thing that allowed us to survive unscathed from the attack that leveled the arena around us. If you've ever wondered what all the fire-type energy in Mega Charizard would look like when sent out in an explosion, then I have good news for you. I've seen it. And it was fucking awesome.

When the white light cleared, much of the arena around us was just gone. I searched with my eyes, and the first thing I noticed was Mega Garchomp popping out of the ground with Cynthia clutched in its hands. Lance and Oak were nowhere to be found, but something told me they'd managed to escape. Wallace and Steven were teleported in by Metagross once it was sure the coast was clear, and now I focused on searching for Igneel and Mewtwo.

Igneel was scuffed up. He had dropped out of his mega evolved state after the explosion, but beyond that, he was okay. Tired as fuck, though. I returned him and turned to Mewtwo. The psychic Pokémon was a mess. Its skin was burned off everywhere, and huge chunks of flesh were just missing.

I was honestly surprised anything of it had made it through the explosion as I watched its body lay on the floor. And then the eyes of that body shot open. Without Ino by my side, I would have actually fallen to the floor from that alone. The glow in its eyes was nasty as every injury on its body healed in a flash. "Enough playing around," its voice intoned in my head through the barriers that were supposed to keep it out. It flew right at me, and this time nothing could stop it. Broly and Kenpachi were swatted away like flies. Ino managed to delay it by forcing it to dodge away from a swipe of her ghostly sword, but even that was little more than a distraction for the pissed-off legendary.

Mewtwo came for me, and nothing could stop it. Kisame was tossed off the island as she tried to delay it with a massive Hyper Beam, the attack not even managing to scuff up the legendary. Even Garchomp got involved in the fight, but it also presented no challenge. Mewtwo ripped the Mega Stone off the Pokémon's neck, crushed it, and tossed the Pokémon in a random direction.

I stood, getting to both feet and taking up a fighting stance as it came for me. I'd go down swinging. My punch hit nothing but air, and Mewtwo grabbed my head between its hands. "Become one with me, Brother," it said, and I knew no more.

A/N; Now just imagine me ending things there…Thanks for reading. Remember, you can read the last chapter of this story and the rest of my work up on my pa-atreon page. Same username as here.
