4: Scratch
Alex groaned, pulled from her sleep by the movement against her side. Lena was up. Alex tightened her arm around Lena's nude form, just to let her know Alex was also awake.
Lena hummed against her bare shoulder. "You smell so good."
"You do, too." The entire apartment was soaked in their mixed scent and Alex never wanted it to go away.
Lena pressed herself closer, even though she already practically laid on Alex. "You feel good, too." She ran her leg up and down Alex's calf. Her scent spiked again, making Alex dizzy with desire.
Alex groaned a little from the attention. "Once again, you do, too."
Lena kissed Alex's collarbone and sighed. "Would it spoil the moment if I called Kara?"
With a chuckle, Alex gave her a loving squeeze. "Of course not. I want to see how she's holding up, too. She hasn't been alone like this for a while." Kara could be doing literally anything just to keep the boredom or loneliness at bay, so it might be best to check on her.
Lena laughed and kissed her at the corner of her mouth before sliding away. Alex's body immediately felt cold, mourning the loss of Lena. Lena had to retrieve her phone from her jacket pocket. Alex admired her nude form for the few seconds she could. Lena's skin was still flushed with a few bruises from Alex's grip or her teeth or her lips. Concern pressed against Alex's chest and crushed her ribs.
"Lena, I didn't hurt you, right?" Alex asked, voice wobbling. She would never forgive herself if she hurt Lena. Kara will never forgive me either! If she hurt Lena, that might be the way to ruin her relationship with both of them.
Lena's face scrunched up. "Hurt me? I feel amazing. Beyond amazing really." Lena leaned in, kissing her, softly on the lips. "I'd be all for going again, but I'm exhausted right now. The morning, though…" Lena nipped her bottom lip and Alex moaned as lightning shot through her.
"I'll definitely be ready for that." Alex sighed, already rising at the thought. She was ready for it now. You'd think I don't get laid all the time from the way my body is acting.
Lena cuddled back against her, holding the phone up. Alex melted inside with Lena's skin caressing her own. It was like her scent wrapped around Alex and swaddled her. She would write Shakespearean sonnets for Lena if she were inclined to poetry.
"Hey, babe," Lena said, pulling Alex from her thoughts.
"Hey, beautiful!" Kara's cheery voice came through. Alex had to adjust a little to see Kara, who seemed to be sitting on the sofa in the penthouse living room, and Kara squealed. "Finally!"
"Please, don't cheer." Alex sighed and ducked her head, trying her best to hide a blush.
Kara rolled her eyes. "Fine, but I see the date went well." She practically beamed over the fact that her bond-mates had had sex.
"Very." Lena smiled and kissed Alex's shoulder. The open affection made Alex blush more, but Lena did not mention it. "Anyway, we wanted to check on you. It's rare for you to be on your own like this now. Are you all right?"
Kara blew out a loud breath and brushed her hair out of her face. "I'm fine. I did a little patrolling earlier, but there was really nothing happening tonight. I came back a few hours ago and I've been planning Game Night. Trying to think of something that won't end in an actual fight." She scratched her head.
Alex snorted. "Good luck." The Superfriends were super competitive.
"It's your fault really," Kara said.
Alex gasped. "My fault? How is it my fault? You filled a room with high-achievers who all know martial arts. It's your fault if anyone's."
"You're supposed to be a good example for everybody!"
Alex's face dropped. "You cannot be serious. You're the living embodiment of hope, but I have to be a good influence? Which one of us shoots people?"
"You're good at excuses, I tell you that." Kara gave her a sassy grin.
"It's all fun and games until I don't come to Game Night because you're blaming me for stuff."
"You'll come. You wouldn't want to hurt my feelings." Kara poked out her lip and Alex groaned. "Besides, if you did stand me up, I'd get Lena on you. Lena would help." Kara winked at Lena.
Lena smiled. "Of course."
Alex groaned again and ducked her head. "You can't gang up on me." She would have no way to defend herself!
"I think you're wrong about that," Kara said.
Lena chuckled. "It might be in your future, Alex. Accept it." She kissed Alex's neck, which soothed Alex enough to keep her from saying anything else.
"Are you spending the night with Alex?" Kara asked.
Lena glanced at Alex, as if it was even a question. "We've made plans. But, you could come get me in the morning, so we can have breakfast together as usual."
Kara nodded. "I'd love that." Then she winced. "Unless, you had plans, Alex."
"I never have breakfast plans. You know I think of breakfast time as you and Lena time anyway. I'll always concede that to you," Alex replied. Breakfast was never a meal she would have interest in. Of course, meals had never been a priority for her until Kara and Lena forced them onto her.
Kara grinned. "Great, but we wouldn't mind if you joined us."
Lena nodded. "We really wouldn't."
"We all know I have met many meals I didn't like. You two can have your sit down breakfast. I'd rather go for my run and then eat on my way into work," Alex said.
Kara shook her head. "I feel like that's not healthy, but I can't prove it." She wrinkled her nose. "Tell me, doctor, is it healthy?"
Alex arched an eyebrow. "For someone who claims to love me for who I am, you spend a lot of time trying to change my habits."
Kara sputtered and fiddled with her glasses. "I do love you!"
Lena chuckled. "Don't fall for that, Kara. And you need to be nice, Alex." She gave Alex a gentle swat to her thigh.
Kara smiled. "You two should get back to your date."
"Make sure you go to sleep at a decent hour," Lena said. While Kara's body did not need sleep, it certainly liked it.
Kara whimpered dramatically, even flopping down on the sofa for a second. "I'll be fine."
"She's serious," Alex said. Kara might enjoy being a brat, but she had to take care of herself. The world could not have Supergirl being even a little bit off because she did not take a nap. More than that, Kara did not want to end up at CatCo without some sleep as Cat Grant would notice and would not let up on her until she learned her lesson. But, Kara was out of practice with sleeping alone, so maybe she was worried about that. "If you have trouble sleeping when you lay down, listen for our heart beats." That would help settle Kara.
Kara gasped. "I can't listen to you two tonight! You're on a date!"
"We're gonna go back to sleep after we get off the phone with you," Alex replied. She glanced at Lena, who seemed a little more awake than before and smelled just as good as she always did. "That's the plan, right? I am all right with changing the plans."
Lena chuckled. "You're wishing out loud right now." She then turned back to Kara. "Alex is right, Kara. If you can't sleep, please, listen for our heartbeats."
"If it seems like we're not asleep yet, just tune back in later," Alex said with a grin.
Lena kissed her cheek. "You're too cute." Then she turned her attention back to Kara. "And, yes, I'm very serious about you going to sleep soon. You should get at least a couple of hours. Don't make me set my alarm, so I can call you back in an hour."
That was met with a loud whine. "Fine!" Kara gave a fierce pout. "But, maybe now I don't like you spending the night with Alex."
Lena chuckled. "You'll thank us in the morning." She gave Alex a long look, especially the partial erection she had from earlier. "Now, I'm going to do very dirty things to your bond-mate that I know you'd love to see, but we need to talk about that first."
A loud gasp escaped Kara. "That's just mean. You said you're going to sleep!"
"I know and I changed my mind. Love you." Lena blew Kara a kiss and then hung up. She put her phone down on the nightstand and cuddled back into Alex.
"As much as I want to, I don't think I'm up for any dirty things just yet." While she was half-hard, it might take a little more than some teasing touches to get her all the way there.
"Me neither. I just said that to tease her, but how would you feel about kissing and cuddling until we fall back asleep?"
Alex could actually feel her face light up. "Love that plan. I can see why you're the boss."
Lena laughed and then kissed Alex. The kiss was soft, gentle, maybe even a little tired. Alex loved it. Eventually, Lena worked her way on top of Alex, grinding against her. Okay, that was more than enough to work her up properly. Just Lena's weight on Alex got a rise out of her, but the kisses and motion had her like steel in minutes.
"We're gonna go again, aren't we?" Alex panted, nerves on fire with want of Lena. Her scent surrounded Alex and she was high from breathing Lena in, dizzy from all the attention.
Lena nodded. "Consequences be damned. You shouldn't feel so fucking good and smell so good."
"Same."
Lena reached between them and eased Alex inside of her. Alex moaned as Lena's body welcomed her, pulsed around her, embraced her. Lena rocked on top of her, slowly at first. Alex could not help running her hands up and down Lena's back, sides, chest. She palmed Lena's breasts and earned a deep moan. Lena sat up, riding Alex with much more intent, body slapping down on Alex's pelvis. She would be so sore tomorrow and she did not care. She did not want Lena to ever stop.
-8-8-8-8-
Lena was pleasantly surprised to wake up with Alex still inside of her and quite hard. They were on their sides with Alex pressed against her back, arm slung over her waist. She could not help herself, wanting more of what she had only a few hours ago. Reaching back, she caressed Alex's hip, hoping that was enough to wake her. Alex immediately rocked her hips.
Lena hissed as pleasure shot through her. "Yes!"
"You're insatiable," Alex said before nipping her earlobe.
Lena did not respond beyond pushing back against Alex. Alex met her body, each thrust gaining speed and force, rocking her body. There was a ripple of ecstasy with each push and it was intensified as Alex stayed close to her ear, breathing and growling right there. It was too much. How had she survived a night of this? How could she get more of this?
"Alex," Lena moaned, reaching behind her and clutching Alex's ass.
Alex growled again and licked the shell of Lena's ear. Bliss shuddered through her. The hand around Lena's waist slid further south, dipping between her legs. Lena moaned as pleasure burst through her and pulsed around Alex as if she had never felt something like this. Alex pushed deeper into her, the forming knot promising even more delight. Alex's teeth scraped her neck just as the knot entered her and Lena saw stars. The universe fell away and only she and Alex existed for a long moment.
"You okay?" Alex asked, panting in her ear as her knot deflated.
"We really need to take you home and tie you to the bed," Lena replied.
Alex laughed. "Please don't give Kara any ideas."
"No, I'm telling her. It's happening."
Alex laughed and kissed Lena behind the ear, causing her to shiver. "You're about to hate me, then. I'm going to go take a shower."
Lena groaned. "No, stay and cuddle." She wanted that, right now.
"I have to get ready for work and your bond-mate is coming to get you."
Lena could not help pouting. "Or you could stay and we could call Kara to cuddle with us." She wanted that more than anything else.
"Maybe tonight." That was promising. "I just got a promotion. I can't slack now." Alex kissed the nape of her neck.
Lena shivered, missing Alex already and Alex had to know that. "You're awful and responsible."
"I know. Kara tells me often." She kissed Lena again before pulling out.
They both moaned at the lost connection. There was another soft kiss, this one to her pouting lips, and then Alex disappeared into the bathroom. Lena sighed and laid there for a moment, swallowed by the experience, but also gripped by the absence of Alex. Cold and warmth fought for her. She grabbed her phone, texting Kara. Kara was there before she even fully sat up.
"Did you create a sonic boom to get here?" Lena asked with a small smile. She resisted the urge to jump into Kara's arms.
"I promise you I didn't." Kara was still in her pajamas, though. She stepped over to the bed and kissed Lena. Then gathered Lena in her arms in a loving embrace. "I missed you."
Lena sighed into the hug and then smiled. "Missed you, too."
"Oh, yeah? Even while you were busy taking Alex's knot?' Kara snickered.
Lena could not help laughing, too. "Shut up."
"It's okay." Kara nuzzled her, which melted her insides. "I know how good it feels. I'm going to go say hi to Alex and let her know we're leaving while you get dressed, okay?"
Lena nodded. "Okay."
Kara stepped away and Lena got out of bed, legs wobbling. With a deep breath, she stood and her eyes fell to her suit, which she had no interest in getting back into. Would Alex mind if she took some sweats? Probably not.
"You don't have to look that mad at the suit," Alex said and Lena jumped. Alex stood next to Kara, soaking wet, wrapped in a towel. "I just wanted to say bye. Feel free to take some shorts and a t-shirt if you want something comfortable."
Lena pressed her hand to her chest, blowing out a breath. "Thank you."
Alex and Kara laughed, sounding quite the same. "We'll bring you some comfy clothes to keep over here," Kara said.
Alex stepped over to Lena and hugged her, even though Alex was wet from her shower. And Lena melted once again. She just wanted to be held by Alex and Kara.
"This was amazing. You're amazing." Alex kissed Lena. "Enjoy breakfast."
"I will and thank you for everything." Lena did not know what else to say. That was awkward. But, Alex did not make it seem that way, just beaming at her, like she was happy to hear that.
"My pleasure. I promise you," Alex replied. Then, she went to Kara and kissed her. "Take care of our girl."
Kara grinned with her shoulders thrown back. "Always. See you later?"
Alex nodded. "Definitely. I'll come by after work. We can spar. We've missed a couple of days, so we have to catch up."
Kara practically squealed, loving and loathing sparring in equal measure. She really delighted in doing things with Alex, especially sparring, even though Alex worked Kara hard as hell. It was wonderful to see and experience… and, of course, a huge turn on, but that was neither here nor there.
Alex laughed and returned to the bathroom. Kara dug out some sweats for Lena and then they were on their way. Lena was not surprised Kara flew the whole way with her nose buried in Lena's hair.
"You like the smell of your bond-mates together, huh?" Lena asked as Kara put her down on the balcony. Their little garden out there was doing well, mostly because of Kara's attention, but it was quite lovely.
"Of course. So, you enjoyed yourself?" Kara asked as they walked inside.
Lena smiled. "You know I did. I did miss you, though." She sighed and wrapped her arms around Kara, burying her head in Kara's shoulder. Being pressed against Kara kept her from going off in all directions, not in a bad way, but she just needed to feel settled or she would not know what to do with herself.
"I know." Kara turned and gave Lena a squeeze. "I've been in your shoes, after all. That's why I know we should all be together as best we can."
Lena rubbed her nose in Kara's neck. "I love you so much." For some reason, she felt even more attached to Kara now. If Kara was not there, she was certain she would be doing ten things at once, but getting nothing done. "Oh, is this why you're actually so hyper after spending the night with Alex? I just want to curl up with you on the sofa forever or I'll tear out of my skin."
A light snicker escaped Kara. "See, it's not my fault! Unfortunately, you know I can't just take the day off unless Supergirl loses a fight. But, we can eat breakfast on the couch and take a shower together."
Lena shivered. "Yes, please." She would take any bit of attention from Kara right now.
Kara had breakfast waiting, moving it from the kitchen counter to the coffee table in the living room. Lena slumped against Kara as she enjoyed her usual fruit salad and smoothie. Kara had a tougher time trying to eat her pancakes, but rolled them like crepes to make it work. Breakfast was as nice as always.
"Do you think Alex misses us in the morning?" Lena asked, pulling the t-shirt collar to her nose. Alex's scent lingered on the clothes and made her insides quiver. How was it possible for Alex not to feel that strange rush after waking up with one of them.
"Probably, but I get it. She wants to give us our time and I appreciate that. This is one of my favorite times of the day. Of course, I'd like for her to join us."
Lena put a piece of pineapple to Kara's mouth, which she accepted. This put a smile on Lena's face. "Any time you cuddle up with us is your favorite time, which I understand because it's mine, too." She was at peace at the moment, but would probably feel properly soothed if Alex was there as well.
"Well, I love you both. I love being around you. Plus, I love you both being together, enjoying each other the same way I enjoy you. Makes me happy."
"I get that, too, even before dating Alex. This whole thing is nice, but…"
Kara arched an eyebrow. "But?"
"Alex cannot just fuck us in the morning and hop in the shower after! This is all her fault!" It was unacceptable.
Kara's face lit up. "Yes! Thank you! Now, you see it's not me!"
Lena laughed. "We will definitely speak on this tonight."
"I promise Alex's solution will be to not have sex in the morning."
Lena scoffed. "Well, that's also unacceptable." They were not doing that.
"Agreed."
"We'll figure something out." They had to.
Kara made a noise in agreement and they finished breakfast snuggled up. Then, they showered together and Lena finally felt like she was ready to face the day. They definitely needed to talk to Alex.
-8-8-8-8-
Alex found herself fairly popular at work, in the sense that people whispered to each other as she walked by. That happened back when she first arrived at L-Corp, so she was used to it. She ignored them, sipping her coffee as she made her way down to her lab. She was not surprised Fatimah was already sitting inside her lab. It was a good thing she had taken an extra-long shower and used everything possible to conceal her scent or Fatimah would definitely be able to smell her in such a tiny space.
"Why is that every time you're in the gym, I only get to hear about it?" Fatimah demanded to know, her dark eyes trying to glare, but there was a playful sparkle there.
"As an ex-girlfriend, shouldn't you not want to see me doing stuff people think is sexy?" Alex smirked as she sat down at her desk.
Fatimah smirked right back. "We didn't break up because you're not sexy."
Alex snickered. "Did we break up because I'm not clever enough to keep up with you?"
"I think that's part of it, yes. But, anyway, what is this about you being in the gym and suddenly Miss Luther is attracted to you?" Fatimah asked, brow furrowed with concern.
Alex waved that off and sipped her coffee. "You know how rumors work around here. She came into the gym when I was sparring with her security team. She did a pheromone blast and then left. Everyone's assuming she did it because she saw me work, which is ridiculous."
Fatimah nodded. "I suppose. There are a lot of different reasons that could've happened, including just the shock of you beating her entire security team, but she always struck me as a little attracted to you."
"You only say that because you felt like she didn't like you when we dated."
A small, amused smile settled on Fatima's full lips. "I still wholeheartedly believe she didn't think I was good enough for you. If she's dating your sister and she hired you, even though you don't think she liked you, then I think she actually thinks highly of you and expects you to date someone on her level."
Alex shook her head. "You are on her level. You're an amazing person, Fatimah. You believed me when I said it was me and not you. You believed in me, but also believed I needed to work on myself. Then, you've stayed on my ass to help me get on my feet and reach my potential. You've given me way more than I deserve."
Fatimah snorted and waved that off. "Please, you deserve way more support. If you got what you needed, you'd probably cure cancer on your own."
Alex ran her hand through her hair, unsure how to respond to that. Why did these people have such faith in her? She would do her best not to let them down.
"So, do they just think Lena is attracted to me?" Alex asked.
Fatimah chuckled. "Something like that. They're also trying to figure out what you do in your lab with her when you have lunch together. No one's gotten to saying sex yet, but they don't think you're having lunch here."
Alex scoffed. "I barely do science here."
"Well, obviously you have to use this space for something." Fatimah chuckled. "But, no, they haven't said affair yet, but they definitely think Miss Luthor is toying with you in some way, like you amuse her. You know the culture of this place. So, why were you down there fighting the security team?"
"To show them I could." Alex could only guess how it would go over when it came out that she was Lena's newest bodyguard.
With a laugh, Fatimah shook her head. "Can we show these scientists some science now?"
Alex smiled. "I promise I'm on my next project. Actually, do you want to see? You might be able to help me move forward. I can't figure out why the formula doesn't work."
"You sure you want my help? I don't want to risk the wrath of Lena Luthor, partner in science and your master… I guess."
Alex laughed. "Please, don't do that. But, definitely help me. I promise you, Lena won't mind. In fact, she'll be happy you helped."
"As long as it doesn't get me fired, sure. I can also catch you up on other stuff going around about you. Like a bunch of scientists think you somehow stole the work for your suppressant work with Miss Luthor."
"These people are going to be really pissed now that I'm focused." Alex was about to show these scientists just what she was made of. They would not have enough rumors to explain how she could do what she did.
-8-8-8-8-
Lena came into work with her head held high, a small smile playing on her face. She did not give a damn what anyone was saying. She could take on the world right now. She had both Kara and Alex. She was literally living her best life. She would never let someone get her down over that.
Looks came her way all the way to her office and she did not care. Part of her wanted to blast the whole building, let them smell how her scent had changed now that she had been satisfied by Alex. Yes, Alex left her wanting, but whatever. These people did not know the delight she experienced with Alex, just like they did not know or understand the ecstasy she experienced with Kara. But, what she knew, they wished they had what she had.
Lena sat at her desk and then summoned Devon. Devon arrived immediately and sat across from her. For a moment, Lena wanted to be pissed with Devon. What happened in the gym was her fault, but it did not matter. She did want to make sure Devon was over this little thing with Alex. Plus, they had to agree on Alex's security contract.
"Good morning, Miss Luthor," Devon said as she sat down across from Lena.
Lena nodded. "Good morning. So, yesterday was exciting."
Devon sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "I am so sorry about that. I was extremely unprofessional. Vasquez read me properly as soon as the match ended. I should have known better."
Lena nodded again. She was glad Vasquez spoke up. Alex deserved to have someone fight for her. Lena put that in the back of her mind as she focused on Devon.
"I'm glad you realized that. How is the team? It had to be demoralizing for them to be beaten by one person," Lena said.
Devon snorted. "At this point, they expect it. The first time, when we were doing training exercises, they all got a taste of Alex one-on-one. They all walked away with an understanding she was much more than they gave her credit for. They thought they'd be able to take her as a team, but it wasn't like when they first sparred against her. They knew this wasn't in their favor, just hoped otherwise. I know because I'm right there with them. We're all convinced there's no way in hell she used to be FBI."
Lena waved that off. "That doesn't really matter. I don't want them acting like Alex doesn't deserve this job, especially after yesterday."
Devon took a deep breath. "Yes, I've already addressed the issue. We had a meeting yesterday afternoon. You have to be able to trust your team with your life and they know and understand that. We're all here to keep you safe, Alex included."
"Good that we're on the same page."
"If it means anything to you, most of them just thought you were in shock."
"I was. I like to think I run a billion dollar company and adult employees, but I'm discovering since Alex's arrival, I run a kindergarten. I have scientists who don't believe her credentials and spread rumors about why she was hired. Now, I have to worry about the same with her on my security detail, but if people stopped talking, they would all see she's overqualified for everything I would like her to do."
Devon nodded. "Understood and I agree with you. When I used to walk around with her, I wondered why the hell she wasn't hired for security. If she's even better at science and that's why you hired her for the lab, all I can assume is the lab rats are scared she'll replace all of them."
"I'm sure you noticed she doesn't have the attention span for that." Alex had to be doing at least four major things at all times or she would not know what to do with herself.
"Yes, I imagine she had a lot of leeway with the agency she used to be with or her old boss had to crack a whip often."
"Both are true. I just want to be sure everything between you and Alex is smooth, honest and truly."
Devon nodded. "I promise you, I'm fine. I'll make sure the security team is fine as well, even though I think they are. I won't let them partake in any office gossip as well. Although, Vasquez might jump on them should they utter any theory that distracts from work."
Well, that was one segment of the company under control, but possibly the most important. Lena did need to trust these people with her life and she needed them to work with Alex to keep her alive. If there are any other rumors, she would just deal with them as they came along if they caused her a problem, as Alex had done her entire time at L-Corp.
"Then, onto business. I was thinking, perhaps we should set Alex up with a part-time contract. She won't be a full-time bodyguard," Lena said.
"True enough. She doesn't need any of the benefits of a full-time employee in security anyway, as she has that being in the lab," Devon replied.
And with that, they eased into real business. They had to work out the details of Alex's contract. Once that was done, she emailed it to Alex, so she could go over the details. The way Alex emailed it back, Lena doubted she read it, which was fine. It was not like Lena tried to rip her off.
-8-8-8-8-
Kara could not sit down for some reason, pacing the common areas of the penthouse. Alex coming over should not be a big deal, but Kara was just all over the penthouse, a buzz just under her skin that refused to go away. Lena did not even bother to look up, like she did not notice Kara standing by the window, then by the terrace doors, then sliding into the kitchen, and everywhere else. Eventually, she stood right behind Lena.
"How can you just sit there?" Kara begged Lena, who was curled up on the couch with her laptop, perfectly calm! Also, perfectly cute in her maroon yoga pants and blue camisole with the House of El crest on it.
"Because we have Alex over almost every day, so why should today be any different?" Lena asked, eyes not leaving her laptop.
"Well, for one, you just slept with her!" That should make Lena more eager to see Alex than anything else.
"Uh-huh. How does that change anything?"
"You proved she's the problem."
Lena laughed, finally turning to look at Kara. "You're both absolute menaces in your own way."
Kara threw her head back, chuckling. "You're probably right."
"I am very right." Lena's eyebrow arched. "Are you worried things have changed between us?"
"No." Kara shook her head and then paused. "Well, maybe. I guess, I'm still hoping something makes Alex realize she should be here all the time, even though I know she can't be here all the time." Kara pouted. She hated that. She wanted her bond-mates with her, but also she knew that Alex and Lena meant a lot to each other and should be together more often as well.
Lena gave her such a soft look. "We'll figure something out the moment she decides to move in, okay?"
"Promise?"
"Of course." Lena reached out and rubbed Kara's bare bicep. Kara had put on one of Alex's black tank tops and probably stretched it out a little bit, but she hoped Alex seeing her in her clothes would entice her to stay.
Kara sighed and was at least able to settle down. She could not sit, though. She floated just above the couch. Somehow, she managed not to run to the door the second she heard Alex's motorcycle pull up. Her heart leaped as Alex let herself in, though. That was new and comforting.
"Sorry I'm late. I was trying to get Lena's suit dry-cleaned, but the way my dry-cleaner's looked when I handed it over made me not trust them with it," Alex said as she eased the door shot. She had a duffle bag slung over her shoulder.
"Well, that's sweet of you," Lena said.
"Not really since it didn't happen." Alex kissed Lena and then kissed Kara. Okay, the day was good again and the itch under Kara's skin vanished.
"Are you going to stay the night?" Kara asked, almost anxious. She could not help it. She wanted that so badly. Why am I the one who's eager now that they slept together? If anything Alex and Lena should be like this.
Alex smiled. "Let's see how things go. Should we go spar since Lena seems to be working?" She nodded to Lena's laptop.
Lena gave her a thumb's up at the suggestion. "That would be great as I don't need the distraction and seeing you two would motivate me to finish up as soon as possible. I'll also order dinner."
"Perfect. Let's go, Stitch." Alex waved Kara on.
Kara bounced on her heels. She was not sure how she did not literally fly through the roof. Really, why am I like this? Maybe it was because it felt like they were on the cusp of something new. Alex left the duffle bag behind and marched off to the gym with Kara hot on her heels.
Since Alex had healed from her injuries, she had kicked up sparring with Kara. Just like she wanted to be sure Lena could defend herself, she wanted to make sure Kara could defend herself. So, they did warmups with the red sun lamps on until Kara was without her powers. Then, Alex spent thirty minutes to an hour teaching Kara new moves and practicing the moves before they spent an hour sparring. Alex always made sure to attack in a manner that would encourage Kara to use the new moves until she perfected them.
Lena always came in while they sparred and that day was no different. Alex always stayed focus, but Kara wanted to show off to both bond-mates. It was the quickest way to end up pinned, but she did it every single time.
"I know you like this position," Alex said, on top of Kara. "But, I need you to focus. This is important." Kara had heard this many times before.
Kara nodded. "Right, right." She would eventually focus, but it was much too early in Lena showing up for that to happen now.
"Don't make me ask Lena to leave," Alex replied.
"Please, don't." Lena pressed her palms together. She was tucked away by the door, sitting on the floor with her legs folded underneath her.
"I promise I'll focus," Kara said. One warning was always enough, but it was a little harder than usual to stay focused. Alex and Lena pumped out more pheromones than usual, probably because they had been intimate, and while the scents did not affect her the same way they did humans, it was still delicious. The mix of them was perfect, like dessert wafting through the air.
"Kara, are you okay? Your eyes unfocused for a moment," Alex said.
Kara blinked. "Sorry. Um… I can…" She did not want to say it. They always acted like it was weird when she smelled them, even though they were perfectly content to smell each other.
Alex gave her a small smile. "I know. It's something you have to deal with, though. Fight through the distraction. Use this to help train yourself."
Kara nodded and they got back to it. Sparring went quickly, or it seemed that way anyway. Kara and Alex went to shower separately, which was always a drag. Kara would add that to the list of items to be discussed tonight.
Lena had the food set up by the time Kara made her way back out to the common area. Lena eased Kara's plate in front of her, half a roasted chicken with potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, and then finished with Alex's dinner, which was the same. There was a container with a dozen biscuits. Kara wrapped her arms around Lena and kissed her cheek.
"You take such good care of us," Kara said.
"Just returning the favor," Lena replied.
They remained hugged up when Alex stepped into the kitchen. Kara grabbed her into the hug. Kara gave both bond mates a gentle squeeze.
"I love you both so much," Kara said.
"We know. We love you, too," Alex replied.
They released each other and then pulled up next to their plates. Kara savored her food for a moment before diving right into the matter at hand. "So, you two slept together."
"Nothing gets by you," Alex replied.
Kara rolled her eyes. "Just saying that to point out your relationship has advanced and now we're at a point where all three of us have a sexual relationship as pairs. What does that mean for us, though? As pairs can we now all have sex whenever we want? Are there rules? Do we have to tell the other before or after? I mean, we weren't really doing that before, but it was more because you split custody of me, so you were both in the loop of what the other was doing, anyway."
Lena nodded. "Valid concerns. I feel like we now expect sex between us, so we shouldn't have to get to a point where we're almost scheduling it. But, should we get to a point where we try all three of us together? Preferably before my heat? I want you both there and maybe we should establish some kind of rhythm beforehand."
"If Alex is fine with it, you know I'm more than okay with it," Kara replied before she shoved several potatoes in her mouth.
Alex nodded. "That does sound important. Don't want us trying to figure out things the day of. We have to make sure you're all right."
Kara smiled as she swallowed her food. "So, you'll start staying over more? I'm not saying move in. I finally get why that's complicated, but stay enough for us to really establish ourselves together?"
"Yes." Alex then ate some of her food.
Kara damn near fell out of her seat. How was it that easy? She stared at Alex for a long moment, waiting for the excuse, wanting for her to reveal that it was a joke. It never came. Alex just smiled and patted her knee. Kara could have been knocked over with a feather.
"Next, Alex, this is not an attack on you, but it is very important for both me and Kara to have some kind of aftercare after sex with you. No more jumping in the shower right after because you have work or a run or whatever," Lena said.
Alex winced. "I'm sorry. You know, we could just—"
Kara cut her off. "We're not accepting the 'not have sex' in the morning line. You can do better than that." Kara wagged her finger at Alex.
Alex ducked her head for a moment and then looked between Lena and Kara, offering them a shy smile. "I know better, but I'm still very awkward with both of you. In the morning, I'm always trying to make sure you both get that breakfast time together."
"We get that and we appreciate how much you respect our time together, but our time with you is just as precious," Kara said. And that was really the thing they would have to hammer home: Alex was just as precious as they were. That was probably part of why Alex held back.
Lena nodded. "Our time with you really is. We want to be with you as much as we want to be with each other."
Alex's eyes glistened. "I know. It's just…"
"Your heart has scars. We understand and we're here for you. Take your time," Kara said.
Lena put a hand on Alex's thigh and kissed her cheek. Kara kissed the end of her nose. Alex got all red and bashful. It was cute.
The serious discussion fell away at that point. Kara did bring up showering together, but stressed it was not absolutely necessary like attention after sex. Alex was not opposed, but it was just not something she thought about after sparring.
"I don't tend to think of fighting as sexy," Alex said.
"I would like to say I'm up for a shower after sparring," Lena commented with a grin.
Kara grinned. "Okay, I accept that."
The conversation shifted after that. They talked about the L-Corp rumor mill, still trying to make sense of Lena's pheromone blast. Almost no one thought "affair" thankfully, but they did seem to think it meant Lena was attracted to Alex at that moment, which was fine. Apparently most of L-Corp was now attracted to Alex. That made absolute sense to Kara and Lena.
They ended the night in Alex's bed. They only slept, but it was nice. In the morning, Alex actually mapped out a way for her to come and go from the penthouse without being seen. Kara reminded Alex they had a date that weekend and Game Night was Friday, come Hell or High water.
