Jiraiya left shortly after being in Konoha for a bit (and spying on the ladies in the bathhouse). Apparently, he had a newborn fire to find inspiration for his book. He had a nosebleed while saying that.
"Oi, Shinji, hurry up or we'll be late for training!" yelled Akira outside Shinji's home.
"He'll be down in a minute. Aimi-chan dearest, can you take Shinji-kun lunch with you? He always forgets to take it with him," said Hotaru, Shinji's mom, as she walked out the kitchen with Shinji's breakfast in a bento box.
"Of course miss Hotaru-san, I'll seal it in a scroll so it stays hot," I said and sealed the food away.
"I'm so glad you kids are such good friends with Shinji-kun," said Hotaru, smiling gently.
"I'm also glad I met him," I said and smiled back.
"Yeah, I couldn't imagine a world where he wasn't a part of our friend group... That just feels... Wrong," said Akira with furrowed eyebrows. I tapped him in the middle of his eyebrows.
"If you keep frowning, you'll get wrinkles quicker," I said teasing.
"Yeah, yeah... I'm going up there," said Akira, taking his shoes off and walked in. Akio, Hotaru and I stayed down by the entrance. We heard some shouting, someone crashing to the floor and a couple of minutes after, we saw Akira dragging Shinji by his arm.
"I'm not doing extra training because you couldn't meet up on time!" yelled Akira. Shinji just grumbled, took his shoes on and kissed his mom on the cheek.
"Bye mom, see ya later," said Shinji as he walked out.
"Bye miss Hotaru-san!" said Akira and I in unison as we waved goodbye. Akio barked and followed us.
We met up on the training ground 2, 30 minutes before we had to meet. I pulled out Shinji's breakfast and gave it to him.
"Ah, thank you," he said and began eating.

"Kids listen up. Next year, I'll recommend you to the Chunin exams," said Benjiro.
"LET'S GO!" yelled Akira in excitement, jumping up and down with Akio.
"This is the perfect time to give you guys your early birthday presents!" I said and unsealed two gifts. Shinji and Akira looked at me curiously and took the gifts.
"Oh wow! Why is mine so heavy?" said Akira as he studied and lifted the box.
"Mine is also heavy," said Shinji as he unwrapped the present. Inside were two forearm guns.
"What is this?" asked Shinji with Akira and Benjiro looking over his shoulders. I gave a creepy chuckle.
"This is a forearm gun. It can shoot bullets, by putting chakra into it. The bullets can either be paralysis poison bullets or one of your bugs can crawl inside the bullet and survive the shoot, making its way into the skin of the person shot," I said with a smug grin.
"Wow! Now I'm excited to see mine!" yelled Akira and ripped him open. Inside were two heavy gauntlets.
"What does mine do?!" yelled Akira.
"Yours has needles at the end, so when you push a button on the back of the index finger, it'll inject paralysis poison when it makes contact with something. If you put chakra into it, it'll help deal even heavier punches," Aimi said with a big grin.
"And don't look so sad, Akio. I got a present for you too!" I said and pulled out a third gift. Akio unwrapped it and it was dog armor. Akio jumped around in excitement.
"Here, let me put it on you!" I said and picked the armor up. When Akio got it on, he striked a pose.
"That's so cool! Can we try out ours?! Sensei please!" begged Akira.
"Hmm, let me try them out first, for... Safety checking," said Benjiro.
"SENSEI!" said Akira and Shinji in unison. Benjiro put on Shinji's first, and adjusted it to his forearm. We were at the training grounds with targets. He aimed his arm at it and I quickly stopped him.
"Wait sensei! Here, put this one up, it helps you aim," I said and put up a scope. He looked through it and put some of his chakra into his forearm. A bullet silently made its way through the target, leaving a clean hole. Benjiro nodded in approval. He took it off and put on Akiras gauntlet. He charged it up with chakra and punched the ground, leaving a crater. He gave back the gauntlet and walked over to me.
"Okay dear students! Your new training is using these new weapons that my adorable Aimi has gifted you. Keep practicing so that you can use it without worry," he leaned down and whispered in my ear, "Can you get me one as well? I'll pay for it."
"Of course! It's already being made for you!" I said with a bright smile that Benjiro returned.

A year has passed and we have turned 12. The chunin exam is also just around the corner, and it's Konoha who's holding it. Many hidden villages are participating. The village hidden by a waterfall, rain, in the grass, by rocks and by sand. I noticed more unfamiliar chakra in Konoha, so we decided to scout out the competition.
"What do your bugs see in Shinji-kun?" I asked through the butterfly, while eating my ice cream.
"Hm, they see some from the land of grass arriving at the gate," Shinji pushed up his glasses and then continued drinking his milkshake, "They count... 12 people. Three adults and 9 teenagers."
"Any sight of the village hidden in the sand?" asked Akira, licking his water popsicle. Akio is licking a bowl of homemade watermelon slush ice.
"No but... They see a carriage surrounded by 8 teams from lightning... 24 teenagers and 8 adults... Wait, in the carriage... You're sure it's Kaito-kun?" Akira and I's head spun towards Shinji.
"Wait really?" I asked with a surprised face. Shinji nodded.
"His dad is with him," added Shinji.
"Why didn't he mention anything?" I pondered. Akira quickly stood up with wide eyes.
"Wait, did they come here to surprise us?" asked Akira. We all looked at each other and then facepalmed.
"What made you all look so disappointed?" said Aoba as he approached us with Genma and Ebisu.
"Us," we all said in unison with our heads hanging low.
"You guys aren't THAT bad... I think," joked Genma. Ebisu elbowed him in the stomach.
"Come on, you guys can tell us," said Ebisu as he stood next to us on the railing.
"Well... We might have spoiled a surprise visit meant for us," explained Shinji with a sullen look.
"Really? How?" asked Genma.
"My bugs," said Shinji in a sad tone. We all sighted and pouted.
"Mah, don't look so down! I'm guessing it's a friend you haven't seen in a long time! You guys should be happy and plan what to tell them, then be sad about spoiling a surprise!" said Aoba patting Akiras hair. We all looked at each other and nodded.
"You're right, Aoba-kun. It's not worth mopping about anymore," said Akira. We all nodded in agreement.
"Great! Cheer up guys, see ya around," said Aoba as he left with Ebisu and Genma.
"Should we act like we don't know?" asked Akira.
"No, that would be the same as lying. Besides, did he really think he could surprise a trained ninja?" said Shinji.
"Yeah... Should we surprise him? How far away is he?" I asked.
"He'll be in Konoha in about... 2 minutes," said Shinji.
"Alright! Let's get down there and surprise them!" said Akira. We all nodded, quickly finished our treats and made our way down to the gates. Just as the land of lightning got through the gates, we stood there waving at Kaito and Akihiko. They seemed surprised but approached us with smiling faces.
"Guys!" yelled Kaito as he ran towards us.
"Kaito-kun! We missed you so much-" but before we could hug him, someone stood in front of us, blocking us from him. It was a tall teenager with dark skin, muscular body and blonde hair and golden eyes.
"Ah, Raikon-san! Please don't do that, they are my friends!" said Kaito as he stepped around and stood in front of us with his back towards us. Raikon looked skeptical at us but stepped back.
"Wow, that was… something," said Akira while blushing a bit. We nodded in agreement.
"Sorry about that. They are a bit on edge," said Kaito.
"It's fine! They're just doing their job! Anyway, where are you guys staying?" I asked.
"We have a private suite here, but I'll be sure to visit! We have to get going! See you guys later!" said Kaito, and we waved goodbye.
While I parted ways with Shinji and Akira, I stumbled upon 'Itachi'. The copy is good, almost to a tee, but the chakra flow and nature is way too different from Itachis.
"Aimi-chan. Don't participate in the chunin exam. You're not ready for it," said 'Itachi'. I stifled a laugh by covering my mouth. 'Itachi' raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, sure whatever you say "Itachi", but I'll participate no matter what," I said while making bunny ears at Itachi. He looked confused at me.
"Oh please, I'm a chakra SENSOR! I can literally feel you're not the real Itachi," I said dramatically, throwing my hands up in the air, "Anyway I need to get home. See ya later Ebisu-kun." I said as I walked past him. I heard Ebisu snicker and leave.

Today is the day for the exam, and I was waiting at the academy excitedly.
"Oi! Aimi-chan!" yelled Akira as he ran towards me with Akio, while Shinji was walking normally towards me.
"Hey guys! Oh I got a gift for you Akira and Akio!" I said and pulled out two sunglasses cases. Akira opened Akios and put the sunglasses on him. Akio barked in approval. Then Akira opened his. It was a beige colored sunglasses, the same oval shape as Shinjis. I pulled out my own, that was bright red at the top and dark red at the bottom, sunglasses.
"I was thinking of a team thing we could have. So I thought, why not sunglasses? The same shape as Shinjis!" I said with a smile. Akira smiled brightly and hugged us all.
"Aimi-chan! You're a genius!" said Akira. Shinji had a tint of red on his cheeks but was smiling happily.
"Yeah, now we have our own team thing," said Shinji.
"Also here! Butterflies! So we can communicate with each other," I said while smiling brightly, summoned the butterflies, and the butterflies put themselves on us.
"Come on! We have to get to the third floor for the exam!" I said and dragged them by the arm. We walked up the stairs, and then up to the second floor, but on the second floor, people were fighting to get into a room someone was blocking off.
"Come on man! Just get out of the way!" yelled a boy with a strange ponytail and bright yellow hair.
"This is a genjutsu, let's just head to the next floor," said Shinji through the butterfly. We all nodded and walked past the crowd, but we were stopped by the blondie who tried to get into the room.
"Oi, where do you think you're going! This is the third floor!" yelled the blondie. I sighed and turned around.
"Well, I have gone to this school for three years. I know for certain that the staircase for the third floor is over here. So all this," I said pointing my finger at them and making a circle, "is a genjutsu. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a chunin exam to get to," I said while bowing and leaving with Shinji and Akira.
We entered the classroom, and I felt a fast being approaching me. I opened my arms and it was Fuyuka who was hugging me.
"Aimi-chan! It's been so long!" she said while hugging me.
"I missed you too Fuyuka-chan!" I said, hugging her back.
"Hey," said Sora as he approached us.
"Hey, they were my friends first! I should be greeting them first!" complained Kazusa with a pout.
"Hi Kazusa-kun! Hi Sora-kun!" I said while waving at them. Sora waved back, and while Kazusa kept pouting, he eventually waved back. We went over to them and chatted for a bit.

"And then, she had the AUDACITY to act like she's more important than the rest of us! She kept talking down to Akira, treating him like a dog and-" before I could continue someone walked over to us and interrupted us.
"Who let a bunch of kids in here? Seriously, is Konoha's Hokage that desperate?" said the guy.
"Well, I think we have the qualifications to take the chunin exam young since we were in the GODDAMN THIRD SHINOBI WAR! Now, if you'll excuse us! I was in the middle of a conversation," I said, staring him down.
"Also," started Shinji, "what are you wearing? Leather? In Konoha? Do you want to die of heatstroke? Do your research, dumbass."
"And what is that hairstyle? Are you trying to impersonate a hedgehog?" said Akira while pushing his glasses up. Akio barked and Akira added, "Good one," while petting him. "He said you smell like piss."
Other people in the room started snorting and laughing quietly. The guy was fuming, hands and jaw clenched, face as red as a tomato. He stomped away to his team, where one of them smacked him upside down the head.
"Yall done roasting each other? Great, the leader of each team comes up here and gets in a line. When you come to the box, you pull a number. Go to the assigned number and be quiet. Then the second person from the team comes up, and lastly the third person comes up," said Ibiki who had entered the room. I was about to ask who should go up, but Shinji and Akira pushed me forward. I looked back at them and they both gave me a smile. I smiled back and went up to pull a number.

I was seated in the back to the left, while Akira sat in the front in the middle, and Shinji sat in the middle to the right.
"Shinji, can you use your bugs to collect information and give the answers to Akira? I can feel some Jonins in here who probably know the answers, I'll give you their locations. I'll guess if I'm right before hearing the answers," I said as I began answering the questions.
I had answered right, and Shinji found someone to get the correct information from and told Akira. We all chatted through the butterflies and I started doodling small chibi versions of Ibiki, Genma, Ebisu, Aoba, Anko, Minato, Fuguka and so on.
"Alright this is the last question. Those who want to leave now, raise your hand. You can still leave and take the test next time. But if one of you does, the whole team leaves," said Ibiki. I could feel the tension and stress from the other contestants. One after another, more and more left the room, heads hanging low. About half was left of us now.
"Last call," said Ibiki. Silence followed him.
"Imagine that the last question is the only requirement to continue and we didn't even have to put time into the quiz," I said in a bored tone. Shinji snickered and Ibiki's head snapped in his direction.
"Something funny?" asked Ibiki.
"No sir," said Shinji.
"Sorry it was me. I told his bug, what if the last question is the only requirement to pass this test," I said with a raised hand. Ibiki stared me down, but then snickered.
"Well, it does give extra points if you can answer the questions, but it isn't a must to pass the test, as long as you're not leaving after the last question," said Ibiki.
"WHAT?!" yelled Akira, Kazusa and some other people.
"This was a test to see if you guys knew the answers or if you guys could gather the correct answers from the Jonins we put in amongst you," said Ibiki. Many people groaned in annoyance while some sighed in relief.
"Alright get out. Leave the papers. remember to write your names, village and team number," said Ibiki.
"SENSEI! WE DID IT!" we all yelled as we tackled Benjiro to the ground.
"Also here! We have a team thing, which is these glasses! Now we all match!" I said, giving him the sunglasses that are sky blue.
"Mah, thank kiddo! Let's go celebrate! Food is on me!" said Benjiro as we walked away.
BONUS:
As Ibiki is collecting the papers, he reached Aimi's. He looked at and pondered for a bit until he noticed it was chibi version of him and his fellow ninjas.
"Minato-sama will enjoy this," said Ibiki as he took the paper with him to show Minato.
