AN: The original Forbidden Game series written by Lisa Jane Smith are solely hers. I'm just the imagination of what the next volume would've been.

My muses: Dark forest indie music does wonders

SUMMARY:

It's been nearly a year after The Kill. Things are about to get a whole lot more twisted if nineteen-year-old Jenny Thornton thought for one second her life would normalize. Just as life started to settle, an earthquake hits. Now another lurks in the shadows, seeking the ultimate game of a life... line. One more game. One more time... to end it all.

Prelude

"Nothing really dies as long as it's not forgotten..." With his last breath, the light was snuffed from his eyes. He faded as a whisper, left to dwell in the afterlife. Within the realm of dreams. As he disappeared a single tear trickled down her cheek. She would make sure remained within the light and peace beyond the deepest of sleep.

The Pennsylvania state shrunk as the plane lifted further into the fog of clouds, soaring into the clear blue skies as it arced in the direction of California. At last, they were headed home. Chancing a look at the ring clutched within the palm of her hand, a watery smile unfurled.

I am only Master.

The intricate, scripted letters gleamed inside the band; a symbolization of the new promise as sunlight streamed through the small plane window, illuminating words with no bond. At last, she was free to live her life devoid of eyes within the shadows. Although such an experience had changed her it would not define her. Just as she wouldn't let someone define her; she was her only master.

The ring was there as a reminder for the rest of her life.
