Sonic was on a run thinking about what had been going on for the last year.

She, Sonia and Manic had defeated Robotnik, found their mother, completed the prophecy and gotten their kingdom back.

Sonic had been claimed to heir and had started doing lessons and meetings with Aleena.

She was good at it but she knew why.

After all the time leading the team she has practice.

Then she stopped, laid on the grass and sighed.

"I don't know if this is for me." she said and thought about all the things she did for the Freedom Fighters.

Then she sighed and headed home.

Later she was having dinner and thinking.

Chuck noticed and knew something was wrong but didn't say anything.

After they got their kingdom back they found a way to fix people that were roboticized.

Aleena saw him looking at Sonic and looked at her to notice the look on her face.

"Sonic? Is something wrong?" she asked and Sonic looked at her when she came back.

"What? Oh, nothing mom. I was just thinking." Sonic said and Aleena nodded.

Sonia and Manic were confused and worried but didn't say anything.

A few days later Sonic was at a meeting with Aleena and still a little off but was still able to talk.

Later after the meeting she was running around thinking.

She had heard that something was going on and was worried but didn't say anything.

Then she bumped into someone and found herself with Knuckles.

"Knuckles? What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Hey Sonic. I just came to visit Sonia." Knuckles said smiling.

"She's at the castle."

"Thanks. Something wrong?"

"No. I'm just thinking."

"About what?"

"Some people have been saying that someone is out doing something and it sounds like Robotnik. Part of me is wondering if we really finished him."

"I'm sure it's fine. But if you ever need me give me a call and I'll be there." he said smiling and she smiled.

"Thanks Knux. See ya later."

"By Sonic!" he said and they split up.

While she ran saw all the missions she was on.

The next day Sonic was outside thinking about what she can't do anymore.

She can't run like she used to, she has to be dressed up for meals, go to meetings, be in queen lessons and more.

She had barely gotten any school after being a Freedom Fighter and stuck in junk while Sonia was taught by special teachers and Manic had been taught by thieves that were smart.

Then she took off her tiara and looked at it then her medallion.

She looked at them for a few minutes then knew what she had to do.

Later that night she was in bed pretending to be asleep knowing Aleena would check on her.

Half an hour later she got checked on then given a kiss.

When she left Sonic felt tears wanting to come out but after being a Freedom Fighter she knows how to hide her emotions.

Then she got up, grabbed a piece of paper, sat down, started writing and then packed up.

Dear mom, Sonia and Manic,

I realized what and who I truly am.

I am Sonic the Hedgehog, Freedom Fighter, Resistances member, leader of Sonic Underground and hero.

I know I'm the oldest but I was raised in the forest, a beautiful, bright and sunny forest. Then uncle Chuck took me in and raised me at Robotropolis as a Freedom Fighter, hero and weapon.

From the age of five to thirteen I learned more and more about being a hero.

Then I met Sonia and Manic. I learned more. I have a brother and sister, why we have these medallions, the things we can use them for and physical abilities.

I know this is hard but you need to realize I'm not where I belong. But when I find somewhere to go and have adventures I will.

I'll make friends, if there was ever a new enemy coming I'll be ready and create a new team with my friends.

Maybe even someone to love will be out there one day.

I'll be as careful as I can but can't make any promises. I brought my medallion with me but probably won't use it.

Sonia, you're the next in line so you'll do great after being raised by the kind of people you would need. Please don't have anyone looking for me because I'll be long gone.

Manic, try not to steal anything. Even though you don't do it anymore. Like I said to Sonia, don't have anyone looking for me. Please.

Mom, I'm sorry I had to do this but I'm not able to stay still for long. Not being able to run here that often doesn't work with me. When you go to bed I'd go for a run and then go to bed. I know you didn't mean for this to happen but unlike our foster parents and in my case foster parents and uncle know what we do and such. If Robotnik hadn't done it they'd be able to help you with us. Go to Knothole and find Sally, Bunnie, Antoine and Rotor. They're some of my closest friends after joining the Freedom Fighters. Like I said to Sonia and Manic, don't try and find me. For all I know I could be on the other side of the planet! All I'd really need for that is a Sonic Boom.

Last but not least Knuckles, thanks for the help you gave us while we were looking for mom. If you start dating Sonia look after her. I trust you enough though after looking after the Emerald. Tell Chomps I said hello to! Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. If you want to know ask Sonia or Manic. I told them last night during dinner. It wasn't the easiest childhood. When they tell you don't worry, I'll be fine.

I love you all and tell Mobotropolis I left and if they were to ever see me to not tell anyone.

When she was done she read it and nodded.

Then she got up and made sure she had everything she needed.

"Alright, looks like we're good to go." she said and looked out the window ready to jump but stopped and put her hand on her medallion then looked at it. "I'll keep it but won't use it unless I have to."

After that she looked around and saw she had everything she wanted and needed again.

Then she turned around, opened her window and jumped getting into possession of a Sonic Spin.

A few seconds later she was running smiling after using a Sonic Boom.

"I don't know where to go but it'll be anywhere now." she said and jumped, spun around a tree branch and landed on her feet then kept running. "Adventures, here I come!"

The next day it was morning and Aleena, Sonia and Manic were reading the letter and quietly crying.

"Why did she have to leave? We could've thought of something." Sonia said and cried with Manic holding onto her.

"How is she going to take care of herself?" Manic asked.

"Chuck probably has an idea." Aleena said.

A few minutes later Chuck was there reading the letter.

Then he sighed and smiled shaking his head.

"Everything she said in the letter is true. She was trained when she was younger so I'm sure she can take care of herself. She was our weapon before and even during the time you three were together." he said. "And at least she kept her medallion. She probably won't use it but at least she has it." he said and they all nodded.

A few weeks later Sonic ran past hills of Mobius and stopped when she got to a tree then danced and did a pose as a fox fell on top of her headfirst.

"Oof!" they said and fell.

"Sorry, miss." the fox said and Sonic stood up and looked down angrily at him.

"Hey, what's the big idea?" Sonic asked and he pointed to the tree.

"I just wanted to live with those guys, but they kicked me out!" he said and she looked up at the tree.

In the tree was a nest, where a Mother Bird and her two children looked down angrily at the fox. Then the Mother Bird pulled down the leaves to cover her and her children.

"Why'd you want to live with them? You're not a bird!" Sonic said and picked up the fox.

"I'm not?" he said.

"No!" she said and he stood up.

"But I can fly! Maybe I'm a bug!"

"You're a fox, and foxes don't fly!"

"I do!" he said and flew around her.

"Hey! You've got two tails!"

"Doesn't everyone?" he asked, fell and landed in her arms. "Can I live with you?"

"But don't you have a family?"

"Nope. I've been lost for a long time, and I need somebody to live with." he said and she put him down.

"Well, I can't slow down for stuff like that. Gotta juice, kid!" she said and ran away.

As she ran along the path, the fox flew up to her.

"Wanna see me cry? Waaaah!" he said and his tears filled up the path causing Sonic to slip.

"Whoa! Yeow!" she said and crashed.

He stopped crying when he noticed this and flew up to her.

The he was carrying her by his tail with his mouth and she looked up at him.

"Okay, okay, you can tag along for a while, and I'll think about it." she said and when he talked, he let go of her tail, causing her to fall. "Whoa!"

"Great! You can be my big sister!" he said and she crashed again.

"Oof!"

Later Sonic was being carried in a bindle by the fox.

"What's your name, squirt?" Sonic asked.

"Promise not to tell anyone? It's Miles." the fox said.

"Miles?"

"Yeah, I hate it."

"Okay, I'll call you something else. I'll call you "Tails"!" she said and after hearing this, he started to fly out of control, and didn't even notice the trouble he's getting her into. "Huh?"

"Wow! What a day!"

"Whoa! Whoa!"

"I find out, I'm not a bird, I'm not a bug!"

Sonic was holding onto the back of the bindle as Tails flew away.

"Yikes!" she said.

"I get a big sister and a new name, I'm Tails!"
