The final chapter of this years-long story. It is finally COMPLETED AND UPLOADED YAY!
Chapter 14: Epilogue
After what could have been a great traumatising loss for Natasha proved to be the opposite, she was finally happy in her life with being reunited with her father and sisters completely and having a chance of being a true family again.
Gabriel Van Helsing returned to Rome in a matter of days on his own with having been cured of being a werewolf by the vampire king, and this time his memory had been altered for all those involved so that Dracula could live in peace with his daughter, his Bride Chloe and newly-formed allies like the Madeson sisters. He even went as far as to track down the other hunters and alter their memories as well in order to tie up loose ends. He was just so tired of being constantly hunted. He just wanted peace.
It was obvious that the hunter was so guilty in the events of his life that had previously happened that he just wanted to be happy for once in his life so the Count did that for him to make him happy for once in his life though he probably did not deserve it in his opinion.
Everyone settled into a life of tranquillity at long last.
The Madeson sisters made the decision to introduce themselves to one of the vampires that had taken Natasha on their third night in their former new home. The only one still alive, or rather undead at least and she proved to be absolutely nice unlike her slain sister Alina. They found that they were able to have a bit of fun with her whilst Dracula still proved to be a nerve-racking meeting until he used his vampire powers of "charm" to change their discomfort into making a heart skip a beat.
. . .
. . .
Week-and-a-half later.
Romania.
Within a local graveyard that was located not far from her hometown.
Natasha slowly approached the grave of her beloved mother, who had been buried in Transylvania after she had passed, but her physical remains had been cremated to prevent graverobbing around the same time. Her ashes were placed into a box that had been placed into a hole which the gravestone stood above. Caitlyn was buried next to her parents and maternal grandmother named Dana (Natasha's great-grandmother). All four generations of the known family were Transylvanian, all three dead and one still alive.
The gravestone read;
Here lies Caitlyn Dana Madison, who in life had been a great friend, beloved daughter, and loving mother.
She was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered by her kind words;
"We Transylvanians Always Look On The Brighter Side of Death, Always and Forever."
Natasha carefully leaned front of the grey-coloured stone gravestone, down onto both knees, slightly staining her dark jeans and the front soles of her coloured sneakers. She had a thick scarf wrapped around her neck with her leather jacket completely zipped up all the way. Her brown hair was still pinned back like it had at the masquerade ball.
Not far behind Natasha was Clare, Sophy who huddled alongside Count Dracula and his Bride Chloe. He had managed to properly heal from the injuries inflicted upon him by his former friend-turned-enemy. The sun was hidden by the dark clouds which provided protection to the vampires, but for how long is anyone guess? All four sets of eyes were watching the girl as she paid her own respects to the woman who brought her into the world and to gain closure.
"Hi mom", she began to say as she laid freshly plucked and wrapped white roses down in front of her. "Sorry that it has been years. No excuse, I know but here I am." she briefly smiled before carrying on at the same time as she pulled various roots that had wrapped themselves around the gravestone to some extent. "I found out the truth which was not easy and just wanted to say that you won't be getting forgiveness from me because there is nothing for you to be forgiven for. You have not done anything wrong, not certainly you… and not dad. You and him are the best parents that I could ever have in this lifetime and although you are not here, I won't forget what a brilliant mom you were and still are to this day. Anyway thanks and please tell Uncle Stefan that I said hello. I've already been to see him and given him some flowers already as well as his journal has been returned safely to him… Goodbye." she finished with a smile again with tears in her eyes this time.
A day or two after the events at Castle Dracula, Natasha took a train back to Hungary and with her step-sisters' help; all three tracked down and helped her to pay her personal respects to Father Stefan Carlyle in his sealed resting place. She also returned his journal back to him in his coffin since it was only to do right for his wishes.
Natasha stood up and stepped back two paces with her hands resting her back pockets, with her eyes still on the gravestone whilst her step-sisters stepped forward and each placed their arms around her arm though their free hands' held a bunch of flowers that were red which they also laid down next to the white flowers
"Hello, Miss Madison. It's nice to meet you, despite the circumstances." Spoke Clare. "I'm Clare," she pointed to herself. "and this is Sophanne, my younger sister." to which she pointed to the youngest of all three girls.
All three girls; nineteen, eighteen and sixteen in age and very close as a family that should be, was the perfect picture. Meanwhile Dracula and his Bride Chloe watched what transpired before them as he gave his own respects to his dead lover in his mind.
Hello Caitlyn, my love.
Hope you are resting in peace.
Our child knows the truth; she is happy and she is safe.
I kept my promise to you.
You did well in raising her.
Goodbye, my love and see you in death.
He closed and opened his eyes before wrapping his arm around his Bride and holding her closer to him which she returned by wrapping her own arm around him.
After weeks of being upheaved such as moving from England and back towards her birthplace after so many years away, finding out vampires exist including meeting one and then finding the truth about her family as well as coming to terms with it for herself, her sisters, her father and her deceased mother. Natasha was now in a good place and knew that nothing could stop her now in living her life with her family completed and together at last behind her. It was as it was once said when she was a little girl, a common saying that her own mother had heard from a gypsy; to live is to have life after life.
The End.
