Kaiju Fighters Ch. 13
A few minutes later, King Caesar finishes telling their story as they help clean the place.
Gamera sighs, "So, the Gyaos are here to? I was afraid of that. Who knows what kind of trouble they could cause in this world."
Anguirus chuckles as he picks up a chair. "We know what you mean," and then sits down. "Killer kaiju that can easily hide among the humans. Now, that's scary."
Gojira sets a table up and growls, "I would like to know who he is?" and points at the turtle. "I have never heard of you or these gyaos until today. Not even in the old world."
"I could say the same thing!" Gamera growls back. "I mean, a dragon that can spit blue fire? Sounds a bit farfetched."
"I'm a dinosaur!" Gojira glares at him ready for round two of their brawl.
Asagi shouts, "Will you two stop!? This place is trashed enough as is, and I'll be lucky to get demoted to trash duty if I don't get fired."
Caesar who has been sweeping over in the corner, "Our apologies, Miss. Gojira is a bit hot tempered, and he doesn't trust new faces easy," he looks around at the destruction. "We will be more than happy to help you clean."
Anguirus' head shoots up, "We will?" and then gets wacked in the head by the broom Caesar is using. "I mean, of course we will."
Gojira turns to the waitress, "Asagi? Do you have a phone I can use?" he knew if anyone knew about this new kaiju it would be Mosura.
"Yes we do. It's in the back."
"Thank you," he then leaves the area.
Asagi walks up to Gamera, "Gamera. May I talk to you, privately?" and the two go over to the other side of the room. "What do you know about these guys?" she asks while picking up some shattered plates on the floor.
"Honestly?" Gamera lifts the table up right. "I never heard of them until today."
"You mean that they don't exist?"
"Technically we don't exist either," the turtle points out.
"Well then what's your opinion on them then? Caesar seems like a nice guy and the spiked one looks like all he cares about is doing nothing."
"Those two are alright," the guardian looks over his shoulder at Anguirus and Caesar to see them cleaning up around the counters. "It's just the other guy. That Gojira," Gamera looks at the kitchen doors half expecting him to burst out and attack. "I don't know what it is, but I don't trust him."
Asagi reaches over to place her hand on his arm. "Don't worry, Gamera. He might be a bit intimidating, but he did help save me," she then sees his eyes looking away, full of regret. "Are you upset that they saved me instead of you?"
"No!"he nearly shouts. "I, uh, mean why would I be upset about that?" he can feel his face getting warm.
"You're still my guardian," Asagi leans in and kisses him on the check. He jumps a little at the gesture. Neither not believing that she just did that.
.oOo.
Caesar hums and says, "Now that is interesting," noticing what is going on between the human and the kaiju.
Anguirus turns to him, "What?" while picking up some glass cups off the counter.
"Miss Asagi just displayed some affection to Gamera."
"You mean like a human in love with a kaiju?"
"Yes and by Gamera's reaction I'd say the kaiju may have similar feelings towards the human as well."
"That just ain't right, I know that some kaiju care for humans but that is at a whole other level."
"Actually, my friend, we aren't entirely kaiju anymore," Caesar argues.
"Doesn't matter. Any kaiju that falls in love with a human has to be insane," the way he puts emphasis on 'love' made the old shisha wonder.
"Something tells me you don't have much appreciation for love."
"Hah! Since I've been here I'd seen enough movies to know that it will only get you in trouble."
"Oh, but love can be a powerful thing," Caesar tries convincing his spikey friend that it is not all bad. "Throughout human history there are tales of love that broke dark spells, defeated evil, and turned a beast into a man."
"I don't care if this love thing would turn me back into a full fledge giant. I will never fall in love. Especially with some human."
"If you say so, my friend."
.oOo.
Gojira looks through the kitchen window, seeing what everyone is doing. "So, you don't know who this Gamera is either," Gojira tells Mosura over the phone.
"Sorry, Gojira. You said that he was a turtle?"
"Yeah, at least that's what he appears to be," he tells her while looking at some boxes near the door.
"You don't trust him do you?"
"Not even a little."
"Well, the only turtle kaiju from our world that I know of would be Kamoebas and these Gyaos are unfamiliar as well," Gojira can hear her sorting though some papers. "I wonder."
"You found something?"
"No but I might have a theory of why we don't know them."
.oOo.
Sometime passes after Mosura explains her theory and Gojira walks back out of the kitchen.
Caesar turns to him, "I assume that it was Mosura you had called."
Gojira confirms. "Indeed."
Asagi looks over at them and asks, "Who's Mosura?"
Caesar tells her "She was known as the Guardian of Peace back home. What did dear Mosura say?"
"She may have a theory of why we don't know each other," Gojira says before looking at Gamera who is glaring at him. "Before I tell you, she wanted me to ask you how you got here?"
There was silence in the room before Asagi spoke.
"We don't know. All I remember was a large black shadow killing anything in sight, then a bright light. After that we woke up here."
"Kinda like how we got here?" Anguirus states.
Gojira nods, "Yeah. Mosura said that maybe someone had performed a ceremony in your world. Just like the one that brought us here. To save what's left."
Caesar hums, "Perhaps that would explain the tension between the two of you."
That Gamera raises an eyebrow at the shisha "What do you mean?"
"When I first saw you there was something familiar about you. Your aura and Gojira's are on different a wavelength but almost the same as well," all that got Caesar are confusing stares from the others. "I believe that the roles you play in each of our home worlds are close to the same. A matter of fact they're so close that you feel threaten that the other will try and steal the others job."
Gojira growls, "Why would I feel threatened by an overgrown turtle?"
Gamera rebuffs, "Says the extinct dino."
"I'LL SHOW YOU EXTINCT!" The enraged Gojira unknowingly prepares to release his atomic breath. Gamera is preparing to do the same with his fire ball.
Asagi yells at the top of her lungs, "STOP!"the human takes a deep breath and looks between the two. "Why must you fight? If what Caesar said is true then you should be fighting side by side not against each other."
Caesar then says, "This woman, though youthful, speaks with wisdom beyond her years."
Both Gojira and Gamera glare at each other then nod their heads to say that they will work together.
For now.
Anguirus claps his hands to gather attention, "Now, shall we get down to business? What can you tell us about the Gyaos?"
Gamera sighs before telling them, "Back home the gyaos were originally created by the Atlanteans to be the perfect creature."
"There was a problem, wasn't there?" Caesar guesses.
"That's right," Asagi steps in. "What the Atlanteans didn't expect was the gyaos becoming carnivorous. They had an unsatisfiable hunger for flesh and eventually wiped out what's left of all life."
Gamera continues their story, "After they discovered their mistake, they tried to create a weapon to use against the gyaos and any future threat to the earth."
Gojira glares, "I'm guessing that weapon was you?"
"Yeah, but by the time they finished building me it was too late," the guardian of the universe looks down in depression. "There weren't very many of the Atlanteans left. For the lack of food all the gyaos went into hibernation to wait for a time when there would be plenty for them to eat. So, I was put into hibernation as well."
"I don't see how two gyaos would be that much of a problem?" Anguirus asks. "I didn't think they're that strong."
Asagi worriedly tells them. "The problem is that if they maintained enough of themselves from the old world, then there may not be just two for long."
"What do you mean?" Caesar asks curiously. Gamera is the one to answer.
"Back home a Gyaos doesn't need a partner to reproduce," he looks out the window with something in mind. "The white one wouldn't be much of a problem. As an albino she wouldn't be able to have children. The red one however, is normal."
"Gamera," he turns his attention to Asagi. "What about the possibility that they are more human?" she is curious. "Those laws may not apply much in the new world."
"I have considered that actually," he walks over to her. "But we can't know that for sure."
"Okay then. How do we stop them? Use the girl as bait." Anguirus suggests and Asagi a shock of fear plasters itself on her face, and Gamera steps in front of her.
Gojira catches everyone's attention, "Not necessary. These gyaos need large supplies of meat to survive?" Everyone looks at him trying to figure out where he is going with this. "If they were smart enough, then they would have found a place where the meat would have been stored."
Asagi realizes something, "The factory. The cafe gets most of its meat from a factory not too far from here. Lately, we've been having trouble getting orders through. Chances are that's where they are hiding," then she thinks for a moment. "The only reason they would have to come over here is to find some fresh meat," and shivers at the thought.
Caesar looks to his prized pupil curiously, "If I may ask how you figured that out, my student?"
"I saw the boxes while I was in the kitchen," Gojira answers honestly. "I suggest that we head over there to try and get the jump on them."
Gamera sighs, "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree," then looks back at Asagi with worry. "What about her? We can't leave her here on the off chance they come back."
The old shisha turns to the Gojirian, "Gojira! You should go with Gamera to the factory. While Anguirus and I shall stay with Asagi to keep her safe and help finish cleaning the."
Gojira grumbles a "Yes, sensei."
