Hopefully since we're in the actual reaction it'll go smoother, sidenote, if I didn't mention a character in chapter one but they appear later, just know I didn't want to list off every single one when if you've read anything like this you'll know who will appear

Ironwood pov

The lights dim, and the film comes on, the atlesians instantly recognise the music

"Although each of the worlds kingdoms would like to dispute this fact, we atlesians know the truth, the best food in the world is made of the world is made in atlas"

Ironwood felt a sense of pride at that, while atlas prided herself at being a military power first, the food is one of the things loved by many across remnant, he wasn't one to enjoy fine dining, but he appreciated it

"The best food in atlas is made in mantle"

Debatable and definitely not where he would go, but a respectable enough choice, the host allowed them to get something to eat or drink before it began, he chose a simple wine to drink and was sipping it, slightly bored

"And the best food in mantle, some say, is made by chef ozpin gusteau"

And he promptly spit it out, everyone laughed, even salem chuckled, which was a shock, ozpin told him about her, but his description might've been a little embellished, the man himself looked perplexed, understandable, in this viewing, whatever it was, he was a simple chef

"Gusteau's restaurant is the toast of Mantle, booked five months in advance, and his dazzling ascent to the top of Fine Atlesian Cuisine has made his competitors envious. He is the youngest Chef ever to achieve a five star rating. Chef Gusteau's cookbook "Anyone Can Cook!" has climbed to the top of the bestseller list. But not everyone celebrates its success."

A tall, gaunt, severe-looking woman with fish-belly white skin appears on the screen. SUPER: SALEM EGO-FOOD CRITIC. Beneath that, in italics, is her moniker: The Grim Eater.

Salem looked outright shocked, unknown to him it was not by who she was, but how…normal she looked

"Amusing title, "Anyone Can Cook". What's even more amusing is that Gusteau actually seems to believe it. I, on the other hand, take cooking seriously and no- I don't think "anyone" can do it…"

Naturally those who respected or worked alongside ozpin were miffed at her dismissal, even if most did end up agreeing internally

A small farmhouse, deep in the atlesian countryside, the image was mostly peaceful…until a gunshot lit up the inside, the camera pans down to a window

Some didn't understand the sudden shift, some thought it was an error on the hosts part, but she assured them nothing went wrong

Whatever was happening in the house, it was violent, a scream was heard, the camera panned, closer, and closer, and then BANG! The window burst, and out popped, a rat, with red fur
"This is me" came ruby's voice

Ironwood looked over, the girl showed promise as a huntress, surviving an encounter with roman torchwick is not an easy feat, and now she's just a lowly rat here

Blake pov

"I think it's apparent I need to rethink my life a little bit. What's my problem?"
The scene changes to show a barrel
"First of all, I'm a rat"
A silhouette of a rat appears, sinister looking, but then it scurries into the light along with several others, revealing a more friendly appearance
"Which means life is hard"

There were many "rats" in the audience, people who society looked down on for one reason or another, they agreed

The rats scurry to a compost heap
"And second, I have a highly developed sense of taste and smell"
Ruby: "Flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla bean, *sniff, ooh small twist of lemon…"

Blake found herself impressed, but that was quickly overwhelmed by something else, hunger, it wasn't uncommon for cat faunus to eat rats as a snack, or have relations with rat faunus, also as snacks, seeing ruby as a rat was causing some awkward feelings to develop for blake

Suddenly the pastry she was tasting exploded, and out popped a far yellow rat
Yang: "Wow! you can smell all that? You have a gift."
"This is Yang. My sister. She's easily impressed"

Blake looked over, Yang looked like she had seen a ghost, seeing herself so fat

Then came another voice
Taiyang: "So you can smell ingredients. So what?"
Ruby's voice chimed in again
"This is my dad, he's never impressed. He also happens to be the leader of our clan"

Ruby had a look of surprise on her face, as did yangs, their dad was basically the rat king

Tai saw an apple core, sitting himself down, he goes to take a bite, we cut to ruby sniffing the air before her eyes widen in horror, she scrambles over
Ruby: "woah, woah, WOAH, DON'T EAT THAT!"
She snatches the core from Tais hands, Tai is understandably confused
Tai: "What's going on here?"
ruby keeps sniffing, the scene cuts to a tarp, lifting it, she finds a can of rat poison, taiyang and the rest of the rats looked surprised

In the interest of getting this out somewhat quickly I'll end it here, we're not even at the 5 minute mark, that's why I'm again asking if anyone wants to co-write, it'd speed up the process significantly, part 2 will be out in a few weeks or so
