Biography:

The Mario brothers, Mario and Luigi, were plumbers in New York City.

One way, while repairing a pipe, they fell into a parallel world where Luigi was kidnapped by the gigantic, reptilian tyrant King Bowser von Koopa, while Mario reached the Mushroom Kingdom, populated by small and helpful mushroom people.

Mario helped the human sovereign of the mushrooms, Princess Peach Toadstool, to defeat Bowser, halting his invasion of the kingdom and rescuing Luigi along the way.

Later adventures of Mario, now stranded in the Mushroom Kingdom, involved him battling against, then teaming up with, gorilla warrior Donkey Kong; meeting dinosaur Yoshi to fight Bowser again; facing his evil counterpart Wario; going into outer space to rescue Princess Rosalina; and competing in kart races, games of soccer, matches of tennis, dance contests and board game against his friends and enemies.

He also met Sonic the Hedgehog a few times.

Class Skills:

Magic Resistance: B

A Skill that grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether.

Rider fought Kamek, Bowser's court magus, several times, emerging victorious in every instance. He also has hurt ghosts like King Boo and his spirits, although special circumstances were involved in that. Finally, he fought and defeated Dry Bones, the revived skeleton of Bowser after falling into a pit of lava.

Chanted spells of less than two verses aren't efficient against Rider.

Riding: A

Rider can ride pretty much any animal other than Phantasmal Beasts. Dragons are covered by his Personal Skill Dragon Riding (see below).

Rider can also pilot flying machines, and he is a longtime kart racer. Motorcycles are also easily handled. Other manners of four wheeled vehicles will be managed with less skill, but he will be a competent driver, regardless.

Boats, however, are not within the range of Rider's skills. It should be noted that Rider can swim perfectly, however. He can even surpass most boats commandeered by Riders if he puts enough effort.

Personal Skills:

Dragon Riding: B

Rider was friends with the Yoshis, a species of bipedal dinosaurs living in the Mushroom Kingdom. He would use them frequently to travel into the domains of Bowser, and they would accompany him into battle without fear.

Since Yoshis have many draconic traits, riding dragons in general is possible. The skill is only lowered slightly when Rider has to manage bigger, more aggressive dragons.

Go Karting with Bowser: A

An ability that allows Rider to get along well with Evil aligned Servants away from the battlefield.

Despite him being a noble hero, Mario never rejected a chance to have fun with his nemesis and rivals as long as they wouldn't mean to hurt others. He is a forgiving person, but never naive, and despite being content playing sports and challenges with evildoers, he will not stand for their cheating.

Within a quest to save the Human Order, Rider is a valuable human resources implement to keep evil Servants busy and far from troublemaking.

Bravery: A

The ability to negate mental interference such as pressure, confusion and fascination. It also has the bonus effect of increasing melee damage. Not usable under the effects of Mad Enhancement.

Despite his small size and pudgy frame, Rider never shied away from fighting and beating opponents who were much bigger and more powerful. He would run into opponent hordes and literally stomp them into submission. To aid his friends and family, he would risk everything without doubting.

Noble Phantasms:

All of Rider's Noble Phantasms have a very limited window time during which they remain functional. However, at the same time, each one of them consumes very little mana, and they can be repeated one after another quickly as soon as the mana provided by the Master remains steady.

They have little in the way of animations for the setup, so a certain Nameless Master of a Chaldea based in America would find something to admire in him.

Star of Invulnerability: A

Rider produces a small, glowing item shaped like a star. After Rider touches it, he will glow as well. Through the next few seconds he is completely invulnerable, even to EX ranked attacks or Noble Phantasms, and magic from the Era of Gods.

He also causes massive injury to any enemy he touches, and a single hit may be enough to kill the weakest Servants.

Fire Flower: C

Rider manifests a large flower and absorbs it into himself. This gives him pyrokinesis for several moments, making him able to throw fireballs around.

Rider will also be invulnerable to fire based attacks during this time, even if they are EX ranked or magic from the Era of Gods. Any other attack can harm him as usual.

Hammer Bros Suit: B

Rider briefly dons the uniform of a Hammer Brother, a minion of Bowser, and throws swiftly flying hammers around.

These hammers can be dodged and blocked, but since Rider throws several at a time and they zoom in different directions, it's very difficult to avoid them all at the same time.

Elephant Fruit: A

Rider pulls out and eats a fruit that turns him into a bulky, staggering humanoid elephant.

Rider briefly gains A-ranked Strength. While he also turns into a bigger target, he still can at high speeds and jumping just as high as ever.

It is the most mana consuming of all of Rider's Noble Phantasms.

Summon: "It's a-me, Rider!"

Start of Battle:

"Hey, paisanos! This is the Super Mario Bros Super Battle Show!"

"Let's a-go!"

"Here we go!"

Attack:

"Mario Time!"

"Brooklyn Rage!"

"Use your head!"

Damage:

"Waaaaahhhh!"

""MAMA HOOHAHOO WOWOW!"

"What-a world!"

Victory:

"Let's do the Mario!"

"Oh yeah!"

"Life is a game, kid! It all depends on how you play!"

Defeat:

"Mama mia!"

"Game over!"

"I... I won't let-a you hurt the Master!"

Defeat by Noble Phantasm: "WAAAHHHHH!"

Noble Phantasm Activation:

"STAR!"

"FIRE!"

"HAMMER!"

"Elephant Fruit!"

Extra Dialogue:

"MegaMan, bambino! We are here, together again, what a twist-a fate! You could say... we have become some Super Smash-a Brothers!" (When you have Archer MegaMan).

"Master, watch-a your steps! It's a big lizard! It'll try to kidnap you and take you to it's flying-a fortress-a!"(When you have Berserker Kijyo Koyo).

"What a cute princess-a! She's almost-a as cute as Peach! What? No, what are you saying-a? You're kidding me!" (When you have Rider or Saber Astolfo).

"Princess-a. I'll defend you no matter what. Huh? Huh? I feel-a several sets of eyes on me, suddenly! Where are they coming from?" (When you have Rider or Caster Marie Antoinette).

"A fellow Italian-a! We must work together-a! What? Why do I talk-a like this? What's wrong with my way-a of speaking?" (When you have Caster or Rider Leonardo da Vinci).

Birthday: "Happy Birthday! I'll treat-a you to a feast of Italian cuisine today, Master! A healthy breakfast like Mama Mario used to cook-a them first, followed by a large spaghetti lunch-a, and a Jumbo pizza for dinner! Molto buono!"

Event: "You know what-a time is it? Time for a good ol' Mario Party! Ha ha!"

Holy Grail: "A cup that will grant-a you any wish? That's great-a! I could retire from the plumbing business and open my own line-a of hotels! 'Hotel Mario'! Eh? You don't like it? But, why?!"
