Chapter LXXII: Downtime.

Last Time.

Deadpool skipped up to him after walking out of the now-destroyed building. "That's the only time I wanted to kill someone," Naruto said as he held Wilson. "Hell is too nice for those people." He finished as a portal formed before the three jumped in.

Earth-12041.

The three landed by Naruto's house before Deadpool stretched. "I'm sure Strange can send you back."

Deadpool waved Naruto off at that. "I need a break from my world. This isn't the first time a person went to another world and it won't be the last. Besides you can see more of me~"

Naruto sighed as he dropped Wilson down who ran to his porch. He walked up and opened it as she went in as well as Wilson got on the couch to curl up. "I'm surprised you brought him."

"I wasn't going to leave him there," Naruto said over his shoulder as he went to his phone and called S.H.I.E.L.D.

Coulson told him Spider-Man was able to get back as well. He and his counterparts who came over beat up and cured Norman before beating Electro. Norman seems to have amnesia and can't remember the last several years.

"Mind if I crash here tonight?"

Naruto sighed at that before speaking. "No…"

"Good, I'll be out of your hair tomorrow… Hopefully, me and Cujo won't need to do the Corps storyline for a while but I guess we'll see how the reviews for this Chapter go."

"Sometimes I hate my life." Naruto sighed as she took her belt, pouch, and katanas off and walked upstairs.

"I'll leave the bathroom door unlocked if you wanna join for some rough lovin'."

Now.

Queen's Naruto's House.

Naruto sat at the table telling Ava and Natasha his journey. "I don't believe it," Nat said as Naruto turned to her.

"Well, yeah it's slightly hard to believe… Then I went to a universe in the early 1900s and found Atlantis who used blue crystals for their energy and saved the hot princess… Ooh! Then again in the 1500s found El Dorado and got confused for a god before helping a woman battle a sorcerer there!"

"Now I know you're making that up!" Ava said before they both stood and left.

"We'll see who's laughing when I go to Hollywood with those ideas and make a billion!" Naruto bit back as he stood and walked to the counters.

Opening a drawer, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue crystal necklace that glowed and a gold coin before dropping them in. He then pulled out two pictures and looked at him with two women.

The first is a tall woman with a slender build and a slightly muscular physique. She has white long hair and brown skin. She has blue-colored tattoos under her left eye, and large blue eyes. She also has a crystal necklace around her neck. Her attire is a simple blue bikini, the top being a strapless bandeau and the bottoms are covered with sarong type skirt, gold jewelry being an earring on her right ear, a band on her left arm, an anklet on her right ankle, and is barefoot.

The second is an Indigenous young woman looking at the camera with a strange look with long straight black hair with sideburns and flat bangs that end above her eyebrows, brown skin, brown eyes, an un-prominent nose, and pinkish red lips. Her figure consists of a slender, womanly appearance with a heavily visible curvy hourglass figure.

She's wearing an off-white loincloth with pink stripes at the end revealing her legs and thighs and a pink, red, and off-white crop top revealing her midriff, and cleavage and is barefoot.

"They don't believe the best stuff…" He sighed as he dropped the pictures inside and walked out with Wilson who ran around the corner and slid into the wall.

Later, Triskelion.

"You're killing me."

"Don't be like that."

Shinobi said to Fury as Wilson with his tail healed ran around in the lab. And broke a container as the female Deadpool was looking around. "I couldn't leave Wilson there, Wanda was an accident. Went on autopilot to save her and a portal opened underneath us."

"Ah, like you don't like my sexy ass… Maybe my scars have healed already…" She said looking over her shoulder. "But don't worry about me… I ain't joining up and will be checking this world out mostly and checking in from time to time until the contest chapter."

"… What?" Naruto looked back as she waved him off.

"Nothing until the end of the season." Naruto groaned as he rubbed his face before feeling something soft on the back of his head. "See you later~"

Deadpool then skipped away before looking over her shoulder and blew a kiss at Naruto before smacking her ass and left. "Someone hates me out there."

"Nah, Wolf, his betas and the readers like ya!"

Naruto heard Deadpool yell out from the hall as Wilson jumped on the table and sat down in front of him. "So far you're my favorite Deadpool."

"(Woof!)"

Later, New York City. (1.)

Naruto hit a glass window with his shoulder before pulling back to show he was in the glass dome part of a HYDRA robot attacking the city.

"I thought there'd be snacks."

Naruto blinked behind his mask before turning to his left and blushed as he came face to face with Squirrel Girl's crotch as she had her hands on her hips. "… What?"

"Oh, it's nothing! I'm just saying they didn't have any at the commencement!" She replied with a shrug. "My cousin's college commencement had snacks."

Naruto stood and turned to her. "This wasn't a commencement ceremony, it was a decommissioning!" Naruto turned as a car was thrown into a building. "Your squirrels distracted the scientists."

"(Squee!)"

"That's right Tippy-Toe!" Squirrel Girl said as the ribbon-wearing squirrel jumped on the seat by them. "Everybody gets distracted by adorable animals."

"(Sigh) Let's look for a way out of here before someone gets hurt," Naruto said before looking up to see a hatch.

Jumping up, Naruto grabbed the handles before he started to push with his feet adding Kurama's chakra to his legs. Squirrel Girl jumped up as well before helping pushing the door up several inches. Tippy-Toe jumped up and inside as Monkey Joe dropped down on the seat. "Go Tippy-Toe, people, and squirrels are counting on you!" She said before the two dropped down.

A moment went by before they saw sparks and the robot stopped. The robot shook, having Squirrel Girl lose her balance, and ran into Naruto pushing them into the glass that opened and fell out. They rolled down before stopping on top of a car with Squirrel Girl on top having Naruto's hands land on her hips. "S-Sorry."

"Don't be." She smiled as he blinked. "Maybe I like it."

"You're a little forward ain't ya?"

"I know what I like." She replied as they stood. "So, wanna go out?"

"… Sure if you're OK about my relationship."

"It's fine…" Squirrel Girl said as they walked to the S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel that were walking up. "How's tomorrow?"

"That's good." She smiled before walking away.

With Naruto's eyes drifting to her swaying ass. "Knew you like starin' at my butt!"

The next night, the two ate at a restaurant with Doreen wearing jeans, tennis shoes, and a black shirt. And Naruto wearing black jeans and a red shirt.

"I'm having a nice time." She said as he smiled.

"As am I."

As they talked over dinner, Naruto walked her home before looking over as she held his arm and saw black thong bands riding up. "Don't get any ideas… It's easier to wear these and hide my tail without stuffing' it in panties as well."

As they got to her apartment, she surprised him by pulling him into a kiss before smiling as she pulled back. "See ya at class~"

He smiled as she closed the door before leaving.

A Week Later, Brooklyn, New York. (2.)

"Here we are."

Naruto wearing jeans, a black shirt and sneakers said to She-Hulk who was wearing a pink business dress and holding a suitcase.

"And this is…?"

"You're a new business." He smiled as they looked at the brick building. "Gotta start somewhere… Not many offices are hiring giant former actresses' who just got their degree."

They walked up to the top and went to the door at the end with a frosted glass

JENNIFER

WALTERS

Esq. Attorney-at-Law.

They walked in and she sat down at her desk. "Might be a little slow until the word gets out," Naruto said before there was a knock.

The door opened to reveal an African-American woman with short black hair wearing a yellow button shirt that's tied to show her midriff and black tank top. She also has on jean short shorts, black leggings, and blue boots.

"My name's Sharon King… I own the building. I like to talk to the new tenants and let them know what's what. You've also got a bunch of people waiting downstairs… Say they're here for an interview.

They walked down where Sharon revealed she's a former mutant who lost her powers and now rents the building to other people with powers for their work office before they got to the bottom. Opening the door, they saw a group of men and women, one woman holding a white-headed Capuchin.

Once explaining she'd be back after getting coffee, Jennifer opened the door again and saw only the Asian woman with the monkey was the only one in the room. "Where'd everyone go?"

"My guess? They got scared." The woman replied as she put away a book before She-Hulk took them upstairs.

"OK, Ms. Huang."

"Angie is fine," Angie replied as Jen looked down at the monkey.

"Alright, Angie, first question: Do you always bring your monkey to interviews?"

"I bring my monkey everywhere. He will be with me here in the office as well. Non-Negotiable. Hei-Hei is a singularly impressive creature."

Jen looked down at the resume, at that. "Riiight. I'm sure Hei-Hei is amazing, but I'm actually more interested in you at the moment. I have to say, your resume is amazing. A bit of a gap recently, but other than that… You seem like you have experience with just about everything."

"I was one of those early achievers, Ms. Walters. I've been in the working world for… Just about forever. And the gap… I was traveling. Wanted to get off stage for a while." Angie replied as Jen nodded.

"Oh, I get that perfectly. But with this resume, you could get a big-firm job, why do you want to work here?"

"Why, you want to work here… There must be something to it."

"That is, ah… Questionably cryptic. But if you're up for it, so am I. Assuming your references check out, congratulations and welcome to the very small team!"

Jen took a drink as Angi sat at the other desk in the room. "Very good."

"You want to start now?"

"I'm sure there's plenty to do."

"Uh… Right." Jen nodded at that before they went to work.

Outside, Naruto was reading a report on Nova and Spider-Man on a patrol. He reads that Spider-Man explained Nova seems distracted and feels like he's in a rut. Suddenly as they talked, Spider-Man crashed his bike into a cloaked spaceship that promptly uncloaked. Nova and Spider-Man make their way into the almost-crashing vessel and see Star-Lord, Rocket, and Groot working on the destroyed ship.

Which suddenly zooms off into the air, only to nosedive towards Peter's house, right towards Aunt May in the backyard. Spider-Man helps Star-Lord fix the ship by webbing some cables and hitting a button, stopping the ship an inch from Aunt May's head and re-cloaking it. Star-Lord tells him and Nova that Drax and Gamora got injured along with the ship while fleeing a battle.

Rocket explains that this was all done by Titus, a bounty-hunting alien anthropomorphic tiger who was a former Nova Corps officer coming for Nova's helmet. Star-Lord and Groot head off to do something or other to fix the engine. As they went outside, Star-Lord hides near Peter's house and scans the area. Meanwhile, Groot disguises himself as a tree.

Spider-Man goes up and asks what Star-Lord's doing. He explained that he's completed his scan of the area and knows where he can get some "Omnium." At the S.H.I.E.L.D. Tri-Carrier. Rocket offers to lead the team in to steal it, as Groot discourages a dog from peeing on him.

Later, on the Tri-Carrier, while smuggling Rocket inside a backpack, they pinpoint the locked room the Omnium is in, and Rocket hacks his way in. He nabs the Omnium Generator once inside. Then Nova, Spider-Man, and the hidden Rocket walk out of the armory to find some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and an inquisitive Nick Fury wondering what the deal is.

Suddenly a Chitauri ship crashes into the Tri-Carrier and its troops attack everything in sight. Spider-Man webs the aliens up, and Fury orders around the S.H.I.E.L.D. troops. The heroes take this opportunity to leave, and they rush to the deck of the Heli-Carrier. Unfortunately, their path is blocked by Titus himself, who demands the Nova helmet.

They manage to dodge out of the way and fight Titus. The heroes escape to the suburbs, where a group of kids sitting on Groot talk about who the best superhero is. Suddenly, the ship uncloaks, aliens appear, and Groot gets up to start fighting.

As they fight, a healed Drax and Gamora run out to help. Spider-Man and Rocket enter the ship and install the device with some difficulty, but ultimately successfully. As are the other Guardians, who fight off the last Chitauri just as Titus arrives, to the awe of some watching neighborhood kids.

The heroes enter their ship and take their stations. Titus' ship opens fire, and they fire their weapons at Titus' ship, as they fight, Star-Lord and Rocket get injured, and they need Spider-Man to fly the ship. Nova takes his helmet off and starts wondering what Titus meant when, during his earlier boasting, mentioned that Nova had only been using a fraction of what the helmet is capable of. As Rocket walks up to take over the steering.

They start wondering what Titus knows about the helmet that Nova doesn't, and Nova demands that Rocket turn the ship around. He does, and Nova flies out of the ship and straight through Titus' shields, and his ship. Then he turns around and does it again, and continues until Titus comes out.

Nova goes Nova and destroys the ship, which crashes into the ocean. He makes his way back to his team, but he's different. Not only is he glowing more than usual, but he has slightly different armor with a black helmet.

Nova and the others go to attack Titus, who survived the crash and is now making his way across the beach. Spider-Man with the help of the Guardians knocks Titus out. Before the Guardians can leave with their prisoner, the Tri-Carrier arrives in the sky, with Nick Fury appearing on the beach as Chitauri ships escape from the sea, and the Guardians leave Earth to chase them down.

And after leaving Fury explains he wants to be the first informed the next time the Earth gets invaded before the two teens leave to continue their patrol.

"(Sigh) What would they do without me?" Naruto asked, leaning his head back before leaving.
