AN: Hello everyone. This is not a chapter but an update, as well as a message to show I'm not dead or anything. So, I know I said I would try to update more often but things are going on that actually took up my time. So I'll explain it;

1) The next chapter for the story has hit a roadblock. The reason for the said roadblock is because of how complicated I'm starting to make the story. The truth is; I'm trying to make the story mode of Splatoon 1… harder. If it wasn't already obvious about the previous chapter, I'm trying to amp up the difficulty for the remaining three areas (areas 3, 4, and 5). I felt the areas weren't that hard in the slightest. So, I wanted to make each area harder, make it feel like the two Squidbeak Splatoon agents are fighting an uphill battle. The problem I'm facing is that I don't know how to make it happen. I'm not good at descripting things (environment, outfits, appearances, etc.), I usually just say what I see and even then, I make mistakes. So, this is an incredible struggle for me to work on. Part of me wants to drop how complicated I'm making this part of the story and follow the canon story mode, but I want to do the uphill struggle part because I think it would be more realistic and a bit unique.

2) When I'm not struggling to come up with something to bypass the roadblock I accidentally created, I'm exploring more story making options. What I mean by that is that I've been watching and playing things I've had interest in for a long time. From animes like Restaurant to Another World, Overlord, and more, to games such as XCOM, Evil Genius 2, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, to name a couple.

And finally 3) Unsurprisingly, I'm suffering from real life problems. I won't get into it, because that's private, but I've got a lot of home and work problems popping up recently that I've been dividing a lot of attention between this and the two previously mentioned above.

So, after much thought, I've decided to green light a new story to be made. I know, this won't solve the first problem at all, but I think it would let me still post stories instead of mulling over this story and not making any updates. Of course, as the first problem mentioned, I'm going to be putting this story on a hiatus until I solve the problem. Any help with the problem would be greatly appreciated.

But before I end this, I'm going to let out a small teaser. To show I haven't completely abandoned the project. This teaser are parts of future chapters of Act I, stuff that I had planned that will still be done.

Agent Three moves to the left side and sees a puddle of purple ink and a box. Just as she raises her Inkshot to clear the way, a figure surges out of the purple ink and pushes her to the ground. Agent Three blinks and sees the familiar face of Fiona, and notices that Fiona has her pinned down. It didn't help either that both of their breasts were pressed against each other and their nipples were rubbing against each other underneath their clothing, which was causing both her and Fiona to be blushing at the feeling.

"We really need to stop meeting like this." Fiona said to Agent Three with a dominating grin.

"On the contrary, we really should!" Agent Three said as she tries to unbalance Fiona's grip and roll over.

"Hello Craig." A familiar voice spoke to Cuttlefish.

Lifting his head up and looking at the entrance of his prison cell from where he sat, Cuttlefish sees a very large Octoling-looking octopus. Cuttlefish's eyes narrowed when he saw the familiar kabuto-styled golden helmet, recognizing it from days long ago.

"Octavio…" Cuttlefish said cautiously, "You look… different."

Octavio scoffed, "Of course I look different. Don't you remember?" Octavio gestured to himself while yelling "YOU DID THIS TO ME! IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU THAT I'M FOREVER TRAPPED IN THE FORM OF AN OCTOPUS, NEVER TO RETURN TO MY HUMANOID FORM!"

"I thought that you would've found some sort of way to recover, given time." Cuttlefish shook his head sadly "I guess I was wrong."

"YOU THINK I DIDN'T TRY!?" Octavio yelled at the old inkling "I TRIED SO MANY WAYS, BUT THEY ALL FAILED! NO AMOUNT OF MEDICINE OR MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY CANNOT HEAL THE SCARS YOU LEFT ON ME!"

"And I'm sorry for that, but you know why." Cuttlefish answered back with a glare "I wish things could've been different back then, but we cannot change the past."

Octavio stayed silent at this. He stayed quiet for a minute or two, like he was shocked or surprised by what he heard. Just as Cuttlefish was going to speak up, Octavio finally spoke once more.

"Yeah, I wish things were different as well."

"What's going on!? Where's my beat!?" Octavio shouted as his song "I Am Octavio" that he had been playing for everyone to hear during his duel with Agents Three and Nine suddenly stopped and radio sounds could be heard from the speakers, like some sort of interference.

Then, a new song began to play. A rather familiar one that Octavio recognized. One that he hadn't heard since the days before the Great Turf War, when he was in the band with Craig Cuttlefish. That heavenly melody that he and Craig had performed on stage for the first time. Only now, it is even better than it was before. With modern music instruments and the two female voices singing the song. But even with the change, it still had the same effect when both he and Craig had performed it so long ago.

"¿ƃuos ɹno ɹɐǝɥ noʎ uɐƆ ¡ǝuᴉN puɐ ǝǝɹɥ┴ ʇuǝƃ∀" Callie's voice spoke through the two agents' headphones but sounded weird.

"You've got it upside down!" Marie told Callie on the other side of the line.

'It can't be this song…' Octavio thought but as soon as he finished that thought, he became overwhelmed by the urge to dance to the beat. Tried as he might, he couldn't stop himself and began to dance to the beat of the heavenly melody; the Calamari Inkantation.

Octavio looked towards the audience watching the battle. They too were dancing to the beat. But more than that, he saw many of the Octolings in the audience taking off their goggles. He knew immediately what this beat did now…

It was releasing the Octolings under his command from his control.

Up in the audience, a tall dark brown skin, silvery-teal eyes with reddish-pink pupils in the shape of an infinity symbol, Octoling girl looked at the battle before her. The song playing on the speakers had lifted a fog that clouded her mind that she had never known of before in her life. She had lifted her goggles to see her surroundings, she could think of things that she couldn't beforehand.

"This changes everything." She spoke mostly to herself but was heard by those around her. In the crowd, she slipped away from the show.

Elsewhere in the audience, Fiona watched the battle unfold. For so long, she had followed the orders of the Octoking, Octavio. When Agents Three and Nine rose up to challenge them, she didn't think they could've made it this far. But they did, and more than that, they showed that they were determined enough to win. She thought, even after they defeated her before facing Octavio, they didn't stand a chance against the Octoking himself. But now, the fog that once clouded her head that made her follow the orders of the Octoking was now cleared, she found herself among many Octolings, cheering for the two agents to win.

That is all I will give out for teasers in Act I. Thank you for reading this update and I wish you all a wonderful day/night.
