A.N. Hello Everybody! I hope you all enjoy this new story. I've had this idea in the works for a while, and finally sat down and just wrote. It's been awhile since I've done this, and it feels really good to do it. But that moves to our main point of interest.

*IMPORTANT* If you are here from The Renewal, sadly I will be having to put it up for adoption. I really didn't know where I was going with it and didn't really like the pacing. If you would like to take over, then P.M. me your idea for it and I will tell you the things that I would like to see. I will tell everybody the person I choose next week here and on The Renewal.

Thanks, and hope you enjoy this new story!

I do not own Harry Potter or related brands in any way.

Chapter 1

In a deep section of Britain's Ministry of Magic, there are rooms full of the most peculiar objects you likely will ever see in your lifetime. They were filled with all kinds of things, of all shapes and sizes. A strange globe filled with some kind of mist in one room, an antique bowl with runes carved on it in another, and many more. There were too many to explain.

But there is a certain room, with only one object. A doorway. A doorway with an old, tattered curtain hanging over it. It is much more than it appears, however. Many different people have dedicated their lives to finding out its secrets. They try to throw things through the doorway, but they never come out on the other side. They attach ropes and try to pull it back after they throw it, but whatever is not in the doorway is immediately severed, magical or not. Nobody knows where the doorway came from, only that it suddenly showed up, curtain and all, in the Ministry some two thousand years ago.

People have given it the name, "The Veil of Death," though we do not know its true purpose.

In that same room, a fight was at its climax. Two boys, both no older than fifteen, we're in a fight with two different enemies, spellfire being exchanged in blurs. Only one boy was obviously winning their fight, the one with messy raven-black hair and vibrant green eyes. He was pushing his enemy backward toward the steps leading to The Veil, face set in determination.

The other boy, with bronze-colored hair and hazel eyes behind glasses, was being beaten down, barely able to keep up with the furiously fast spell fire coming from his opponent, and was quickly tiring out.

There were many other skirmishes going on around the room, but these were obviously the most important.

The black-haired boy, Harry Potter, saw that the other needed help, so after disabling his opponent with a quick spell chain, summoned the bronze-haired boy, Charles Potter, or Charlie as he likes to be called, out of the way of an oncoming curse. Charles landed in a heap on the ground, breathing hard. But he gets up and turns towards Harry and says, "I didn't need you to do that, I was going to block that in time."

"Obviously, that's why you had your wand pointed at the ground and weren't making a move at all," Harry replies sarcastically. Charlus just growls back.

They both looked around the room. They then realized that while The Order of the Phoenix was made up of strong witches and wizards, they were being overpowered by sheer numbers. Both boy's mother, Lily Potter, was dueling three at once and was quickly losing energy. Luckily, their godfather, Sirius, was there, taking on two of her opponents and quickly defeated them while Lily took care of the last. They did not get much of a break as 4 more Death Eaters quickly rushed forward and curses started flying again. Both boys knew that if something drastic didn't happen, they would be in some serious trouble.

The Death Eater that Charlus was dueling rushed up the stairs and sent a cutting curse at Charles. Charlie, still out of breath, blocked and sent a weak stunner, which Nott, the Death Eater which they were fighting, very easily blocked. He then started to send a spell chain, though he was only able to get out one spell before Harry used the silencing charm then stunned him. Charlie was just able to dodge the first spell by unceremoniously falling to the ground.

He got back up and turned to Harry and yelled, "I don't need your help, Ok! I'm the Boy Who Lived, not some idiot like you."

Harry was not fazed and just said " Whatever." and turned away

If there was one thing Charlie hated more than his brother, it was being ignored. In a fit of rage and emotions, he pushed Harry towards The Veil. What he did not see was that there was a Death Eater that Harry was about to engage and that Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange, had already sent a cutting curse and Harry was preparing to dodge it.

When Harry went dodge, he had planned to jump toward the veil and send a disarming charm towards Bellatrix. However, when Charlie pushed him, he was already off his feet and had propelled himself. So when Charlie pushed, he added force to his jump and thrust Harry toward The Veil with a yell.

Time seemed to slow to a crawl as everyone turned to the shout and saw Harry fall toward The Veil. Several eyes widened and mouths opened to scream.

Harry fell in the doorway, headfirst. He fell all the way through and didn't come out the other end.

Lily and Luna Lovegood were the first to scream, a scream of utter pain and grief. It lasted for around 10 seconds until suddenly they seemed to choke, no more sound coming.

This was because on the other side of the veil, a boy, around 15, stepped from out of the veil. He had raven-black hair and had his head down. He was standing tall, his black cloak flowing around his feet. He was holding a staff, six feet tall and made of White Oak.

He stood there for a bit, seeming to be somewhat out of breath. He looked at the watch on his arm and nodded. As he looks up, everybody gasps at the amount of power that seems to be held behind those eyes, the hard emerald gaze being held with everyone else's. The boy seems to be sizing everybody up, poking and prodding until he finds a weak spot.

Finally, Harry James Potter says, "So, what have I missed?"
