Hello and welcome back!
This is the continuation of 3 Generations. We also get to accompany the Malfoy, Potter and Weasley children on their journey this season. So that you don't have to wait long, a new chapter will be posted every other day. I'm looking forward to your comments. Feel free to post ideas, suggestions and wishes.
Meeting
»Sir, they're waiting.« The secretary had lowered her head and was looking at her notes. The man, tall and slim, took his black jacket from the chair and stood up.
»Of course, they are expecting me. You should have let me know half an hour ago.« He walked harshly past her, brushing her with his shoulder. She lost her balance for a moment. The man didn't care and left his office. On his way, he put his jacket on and smoothed out his white shirt. His hard features showed no emotion and he stared grimly ahead. His appearance was immaculate as always. His black suit and white shirt were wrinkle-free and his black lacquer shoes shone. The wooden sole produced a high-pitched sound as he walked across the stone floor. His quick steps showed a confident demeanour and his straight back and slightly raised head suggested his position.
His way led him through the entire Ministry down to the Department of Mysteries. There he entered a small room with a large, long table and chairs. The tiled dark green walls and the red marble columns created a mysterious atmosphere. His partners had taken their seats and looked up when he came through the door.
They wanted to rise, but the boss made it clear with a wave of his hand that he didn't think much of it. »Gentlemen, I apologise for the delay and hope you didn't have to wait too long.« He sat down on the still empty chair. »It's good to see you all here.« He nodded to everyone in the room.
Across from him was the Grand Master of the Magic Gamot, Greg Broin. He was dressed, as always, in a dark green, tailored suit. His walking stick, which contained his wand, was leaning against the table to his right. Nervously, he tugged at his pocket square.
»What can you tell me about the Magic Gamot?« the Boss asked Greg.
The man flinched, but quickly regained his composure. »I am happy to announce that all the important parties are in Azkaban. Major wizarding families who can be proven to have a direct connection to Voldemort and Death Eaters are arrested and sitting in Azkaban. The Zabinis, the Malfoys and also the Burkes, to name just three.« Seeing the nod from the chief, Greg smiled inwardly and continued confidently. »Furthermore, families who have a connection to the reborn are under house arrest and under strict orders.«
The Boss clapped his hands. »Wonderful, now the Potters and that Weasley pack are out of the picture too.«
»More than that, we have finally been able to arrest Theodore Lupin and we are charging him. The trial will take place in a few days. Soon he will be in Azkaban, too. So another major threat is out of the way,« Greg added.
»An indictment? We had clearly decided against such a course of action, hadn't we?« The Boss didn't sound pleased, and the good news was forgotten.
Greg smoothed his gelled hair with his hand, a completely unnecessary gesture, and searched for the right words. »No, no. You don't understand, it's behind closed doors and without the public. Pure formality so that none of his other colleagues can oppose it. After all, we can't just put an Auror in Azkaban without a trial. Needless to say, that the outcome is already written down and fixed. «
The boss nodded slowly. »Don't make me regret this,« he threatened Greg and turned to the second in the group. »Wash, what can you tell me?« He looked at him challengingly.
Ramsay Wash was someone to keep an eye on and never turn your back on. He was everyone's best friend, but as soon as an opportunity presented itself, the knife was drawn and Wash stabbed. »Only good things. We have the community behind us. With numerous articles and the rising tone full of suspicion, we have managed to plant disharmony. Everyone is turning their backs on former Death Eaters and no one dares to go outside anymore. Even the highly respected wizarding families with old blood are being avoided. Many of the reborn have no hiding places anymore and wander aimlessly. We get dozens of letters telling us the locations of wanted people.« Unlike Greg, Wash was confident in his demeanour. He had leaned back in a relaxed manner, legs outstretched, and was tapping his fingertips together calmly. As if he had to explain a simple task to a small child.
»We are planning more articles to increase and build on the fear and mistrust. An entire series of articles , campaigns and flyers are being drafted by my best staff and editors as we speak.« Wash took out a folder from a pocket he had on the floor beside him. This folder contained first drafts, which he passed on to the boss.
»These are good first drafts, but we need to provoke stronger and faster. Work them out again. We are now at the stage where we have to act quickly. The waiting is over.«
Wash took the papers back and nodded. »Of course, we will immediately implement the changes.« But even after the criticism, no weakness could be heard in Ramsay's voice.
The boss turned to the last person in the group. Halfdan was the only one who was not a wizard. He worked at Gringotts and was a goblin. His size barely allowed him to see over the edge of the table, but his scarred face and the burnt spot on his head would not allow anyone to ever make fun of him. His grim expression instilled fear in many. Greg was one of them, and he avoided even looking in the direction of the goblin.
The boss was heartily uninterested in the appearance and reputation that preceded the goblin and looked at him expectantly.
The goblin tapped his fingers lightly on the tabletop. »The goblins are staying out of this fight and are only disinterestedly following who is arresting whom. No goblin will do anything nor intervene in the current situation. As long as everyone at this table keeps their promises.« One could clearly hear the threat.
The boss nodded. »Of course Halfdan, whoever has my word can count on it.« He rose again. »Everything is going according to plan and soon we will enter phase three. Gentlemen, be ready for the change.« He left the room again and went back to his office.
When he was alone in the lift, a grin appeared on his usually rigid face. Everything was going according to plan and soon the goal would be reached. Soon everything would come to an end and they could bring the wizarding community to new heights. The most dangerous people, the Potters, the Malfoys, the Weasleys, the Burkes, they were all out of the way and a new power would rise. And he will be standing at its peak.
I hope you enjoyed the kick-off. Feel free to leave me a comment and look forward to the next chapters.
