Season 5 Episode 1: The Transforming Truck And Paw Patrol Tan! Big Truck Pups Fight A Flood!

September 1st, 2030

As the Rescue Force looked at the humanoid robots, Skye had something to ask. "Um… can someone explain where we are, and what's going on?" Skye questioned.

"I believe it is finally time for answers to be given. You are in an underground sector of a building on the outskirts of Adventure Bay, located in the former slums of the town. This is one of many Rescue Bot Training Centers that SPD and your government have elected to set up throughout this continent." Optimus Prime explained.

"Who are you?" Rubble wondered.

"You're not made by people, are you?" Rocky mused.

Of the three humanoid robots, they only knew Optimus, as he was the one who had helped them during the Battle for Barkingburg. Ben and Ryder were a little bit more familiar with the legendary Cybertronian, however. "This is Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. He's a hero like us, but he's seen far more battles than we have." Ben explained.

"Indeed I am. You two remind me of a trio that I once helped protect a few years back… and your pups remind me of the hard working rescue team in Griffin Rock. It is a pleasure to finally meet you. We are not man-made robots: we are from the planet known as Cybertron, galaxies away from your own." Optimus courteously said, looking down at the Paw Patrol.

"Well… uh, it's awesome to meet you, mister Optimus! We really appreciate you helping us back in Barkingburg. Who are your friends?" Chase exclaimed.

"These are Blurr and Salvage, new recruits for the Rescue Bots. I decided that they would do well to be assigned to a capable rescue team, which is why SPD has been building a base for us in Adventure Bay. Jack, Raf, and Miko have told me of your exploits and shown me footage of your rescues. You are just as dedicated to saving others as a Rescue Bot." Optimus remarked.

"Sup?" Blurr greeted them.

"Hello there!" Salvage exclaimed.

"Hi Blurr! Hi Salvage!" All the pups enthusiastically responded.

"Pleasure to meet the two of you." Ben told them.

"SPD has also given you six brand new convoy vehicles in case the need for them ever arises." Optimus revealed.

"So Al, what do you do?" Rubble asked, trying to strike up a conversation.

"I used to do nothing but chase trucks and play with a toy one, good buddy! But then I nearly got run over by one, and Ryder and Ben found me! They helped set me up with SPD, and the kind folks over there gave me a job with Optimus hauling their top secret cargo! Ryder even made me my own truck when I can't ride with Optimus!" Al answered.

"So you're a trucker?" Rubble guessed.

Al nodded his head and wagged his tail. "That's a big ten four, good buddy! I love helping out folks who ride the road, and the folks who need the important deliveries I haul!" Al answered excitedly.

"Wow. Real trucker talk." Rubble sighed happily.

Al gasped as he seemed to remember something. "Speaking of cargo! Optimus! Buddy! We've gotta get those supplies to the train station! The arrival of our new pals made me nearly forget! We'll have to mash the motor to get there in time!" The basset hound yelped.

"Mash the motor means… go fast, right?" Rubble surmised.

"Ten four, good buddy! You're catching on to trucker talk faster than a semi hammering down the highway!" Al affirmed, earning a bunch of confused looks from the Paw Patrol. "Trust me when I say that's fast." Al clarified.

"Oh! Okay! That's a big ten four, good puppy!" Rubble exclaimed.

"Buddy! Puppy! I like it!" Al giggled, grinning as he waved goodbye to Rubble.

"Right you are, Al. Let us make the delivery with haste." Optimus spoke, and the two of them stepped onto an elevator lift that took them to ground level.

"Aww… I really liked Al. I'm gonna miss him." Rubble sighed sadly, upset that his new friend had to leave so soon.

"Dude, no kidding! You were looking at him the same way that Wocky looks at me, or Ella looks at Rex, or Skye and Chase look at each other!" Zuma snickered.

"H-Huh?!" Rubble stammered.

"Ooh, I think Rubble might have a bit of a crush on Al!" Skye teased.

The bulldog started to get flustered. "I UH… I'M GONNA GO LOOK AT THE NEW VEHICLES!" Rubble yelled before dashing off.

Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Skye, and Zuma all went to check on their little brother, leaving Rocky and Ben behind with Salvage and Blurr. Rocky immediately struck up a conversation with the Cybertronian, and the two of them expressed both their love for recycling, but also of technology, and about the adventures they had been on. Ben and Blurr just looked at the two of them before chuckling. "So, you're a Rescue Bot as well?" Ben inquired.

Blurr grinned. "Yeah, though I haven't been one for too long. I used to be more focused on doing my own thing, shirking obligations, and being responsibility free. Then I ended up risking my hide to save a town from a satellite, and that kind of set me on the path of being a Rescue Bot." Blurr responded.

"I see. Heh. You and I are quite different in that regard. I've been doing rescue work with Ryder and the pups for six years at this point. Adventure Bay needed heroes, so we stepped up and formed our own team." Ben remarked.

"I get that, but… dogs? Where'd you get them? And how can they talk? Most dogs I've met can't talk. They just… bark at me." Blurr replied.

Ben softly giggled as he heard Blurr say that. "Well, talking dogs are becoming more and more common. As for why we chose canines, they're malleable, easy to train. Plus… they sort of found their way into our lives, and we couldn't just leave them on their own to fend for themselves. And these pups have made me happier than ever. They're my family." Ben answered.

Blurr scratched his metallic head. "You humans are still hard for me to understand." He muttered.

"I could say the same about you living transforming robots!" Ben teased back before laughing, and Blurr joined in on the laughter.

As Al and Optimus unloaded the steel girders onto the train, the conductor sighed. "Wow, Al. You and your truck robot pal work mighty fast!" Mr. Hudson complimented.

"Delivering a load on time is the trucker's code of the road!" Al answered with a smile on his muzzle. A flash of lightning and the accompanying rumble in the cloudy skies above them made them pause for a second. "Good thing, too! Looks like that storm is coming soon!" Al murmured anxiously.

"Yup, we'd better get a move on! It's a steep climb up the mountains to the dam, and those repair materials are extra heavy! We'd better get going!" Mr. Hudson agreed.

Suddenly, Mayor Goodway walked up to them. "Engineer Ed, I've just learned the dam is even leakier than we feared! If it leaks, the floodwater could wash away our beloved town! So, as mayor of Adventure Bay, it's my civic duty to go along and supervise the repair of the dam. Two first class seats, please!" Mayor Goodway announced.

Ed chuckled as he heard the mayor's request. "Sure thing you can come along, Genevieve, but the only room left for passengers is in the locomotive cab with me." Ed revealed.

"Even better!" Mayor Goodway happily said.

The two of them and Chickaletta got into the train car before the locomotive chugged away along the tracks. Optimus transformed back into truck mode, and Al used his minijack pup pack to get back in the driver's seat. "I believe we have finished our deliveries for the day. What do you wish to do now, Aluminum?" Optimus asked his basset hound friend.

Al blushed and squirmed in his seat as the Cybertronian began to drive. "Please don't call me by my full name, especially in front of my new friends! I'm so nervous, I really like them! I don't want to get made fun of! They probably think I'm weird already, since I like trucks so much!" Al anxiously said.

The Autobot leader's head on the screen of the truck's GPS panel nodded. "All right, Al. I will do my best not to embarrass you in front of your new friends." Optimus promised.

As the trucker pup gazed out the window, he saw the train had been derailed and the steel girders that he had delivered to Engineer Ed were scattered across the train tracks. Ed, Mayor Goodway, and her chicken were fine, but there was no way they'd be able to make it to the dam. "Oh no! We'd better call Ryder!" Al exclaimed.

Back at the Rescue Bot Training Center, the Paw Patrol was on the surface level of the facility, and they were currently admiring the new trucks that SPD had gifted the pups. "Wow… they're amazing!" Skye murmured.

"Breaker breaker! Big Truck Al calling Ryder!" Ryder's pup pad shouted out.

The spiky haired teen picked up his tablet and opened up the call. "Copy, Al. We read you. What's going on?" Ryder inquired.

"Bad news! The train heading to the dam derailed! The repair supplies are spilled everywhere!" Al's voice yelped.

"Damn, not the dam!" Ryder groaned.

"Do you mean damn or the water blockade?" Ben questioned.

"First time was the swear word. Second time was the water blockade." Ryder explained.

"AL! ARE YOU OKAY?!" Rubble shouted.

"I'm fine, don't worry good buddy!" Al reassured the bulldog.

"Enough chit chat. We've got to get the train back on track and reload it so we can send it on its merry way!" Ben declared.

"Yeah, a really big storm is on its way! Rain could over-stress that damn and make it crack wide open!" Al added.

"Roger that, Al. The whole town would flood! We're on our way! No dam is too big, no pup is too small!" Ryder promised.

"The Rescue Bot Training Center is also able to double as… our Big Truck HQ! Big trouble calls for big trucks! Come on, pups!" Ben exclaimed.

The team went into a garage-style area, which then produced chairs. Each canine took a seat as the garage lifted up into a control room style section. Halfway through the lift, the team became dressed in trucker gear, complete with their own minijack pup packs. "Big Truck Pups ready for action, Ryder, sir!" Chase declared.

"Ryder dude, this place is totally…" Zuma began.

His voice trailed off as he and the other pups let out howls to show how delighted they were with their new facility. "I love the high in the sky view!" Skye commented.

"Yeah, we can see the highway and the traffic, and even the Lookout way, way over there!" Marshall chuckled.

"And the storm over there…" Rocky pointed out the dark clouds moving towards them.

"We've got a big mission today. The train was derailed while it was heading up the mountain to deliver the supplies to the dam. We've got to make sure the girders and cement blocks get up there before the storm hits." Ryder announced.

"For this mission, we'll need…" Ben began.

"ME! Pleeeease? I really wanna use my construction skills to help!" Rubble pleaded.

"Aww, Rubble wants to impress his boyfriend!" Ben snickered. "Sure thing, Rubble. In fact… we could probably use EVERYONE'S help. All of you will head to the site. Rubble will use his truck's crane to load the supplies into his trailer, Rocky will repair the locomotive and train tracks, Marshall will give the train passengers a check up to see if they've been injured, and the rest of you will remain on standby." Ryder instructed.

"This puppy's gonna drive AND fly!" Skye yipped, doing a backflip.

"Chase is on the big truck case!" The German Shepherd vowed.

"Ready to drive in!" Zuma cheered.

"Rubble on the double duty double!" Rubble shouted.

"Green means go into big truck mode!" Rocky cheered.

"I'm fired up for a big big rescue!" Marshall roared.

"Big Truck Pups…" Ryder began.

"ROLL OUT!" Ben finished.

The team members all deployed and drove their trucks out to help save the day.

As Ben got into his car, he was surprised as the car roared to life on its own. He then recognized the color of the car. "Blurr?" Ben asked.

"Yup. Optimus wants us to work with you. Though I'm not much for letting a human drive me around… or a dog, for that matter. You though? You seem cool." Blurr replied.

Ben chuckled. "Well then, you drive us there." Ben told him.

Rocky gasped as Salvage's head appeared on his monitor. "Sorry that I replaced your regular truck today, I know you were hoping to drive it. I figured you could use a bit of extra help though. As long as you don't try to relieve yourself on my seats or anything, I think I'd be happy to let you drive me, Rocky. You've got a passion for recycling like no one else I've ever met." Salvage apologized.

"I could say the same thing!" Rocky replied with a giggle.

As they arrived at the crashed train, with Ryder arriving in the Paw Patroller 2.0 that had been completed in Barkingburg, the drivers exited their vehicles, and once Ben and Rocky were safely out of their driver seats, Blurr and Salvage transformed into their robot forms. "Am I glad to see you, PAW Patrol! Our train derailed, and our new friend Al could use some help reloading all this stuff!" Mayor Goodway exclaimed.

"I could definitely use the help!" Al agreed as he picked up some steel girders with the claw attachment on Optimus.

"We're here to pitch in!" Ben affirmed.

"The Big Truck Pups…" Ryder began.

"And our new Rescue Bots…" Rocky continued.

"Will pitch in to help!" The human and mixed breed finished together.

Rubble used his crane to help load the steel girders into his own cargo bin while Blurr stacked steel girders onto the train cars and Rocky and Salvage fixed up the train. "Great teamwork, everyone!" Ryder exclaimed approvingly.

"Ten four on that! This trucker is used to riding the road on his own, but a team gets the job done quicker!" Al mused.

"And we'll be ready to roll out as soon as we get the last supplies into the PAW Patroller." Ben confirmed as he picked up a few bags of material and carried them onto the Paw Patroller.

"Sure am glad I'm not having to carry those around in my back seat…" Blur muttered under his breath.

"Did I just hear that robot talk?" Engineer Ed wondered as he looked at Blurr, who froze up and acted robotically.

The train conductor shrugged and went back to pacing. "Sand and cement, what's that for?" Mayor Goodway pondered.

"I can answer that! Sand, gravel, and cement mix together to make concrete! That'll help keep the steel girders in place to patch the leaky dam!" Rubble explained.

"Uh oh, we've got a problem. Just finished the systems diagnostics, and the train won't be ready to make a trip for a while, the damage is too intense for it to operate on its own!" Rocky exclaimed with worry.

The storm rumbled overhead. "A while!? The dam has to be ready before the storm hits!" Genevieve cried out.

"We'll need a new locomotive in that case. Al?" Ryder said.

"My truck definitely can handle playing locomotive, it's got the pulling power to do so! I'll ride the rails and pull the train from the front!" Al confirmed.

"The PAW Patroller can push the train from behind." Ben added. "That's what we truckers call a convoy!" Al enthusiastically told them.

"Let's get going!" Rubble roared.

The team got their trucks on the tracks and started to head up, with the pups all driving beside the train. They had to drive their trucks onto the tracks due to a bridge that they crossed over. "Ground clouds up ahead!" Al reported as the team continued driving.

"Ground clouds?" Chase asked over their comms.

"Clouds are only in the sky, I thought." Marshall commented confusedly.

"Ground clouds means fog in trucker talk! Better slow the convoy down!" Al hurriedly clarified.

Al had to stop for a snoozing beaver on the tracks, and his cargo load became disengaged, making it slam into the PAW Patroller. "EVERYONE MAX THROTTLE NOW!" Ben commanded, and everyone shifted their trucks to max speed, pushing the cargo load back onto Al's truck.

"Thanks a ton, Ryder and crew! You've got my back!" Al gratefully said.

"Being on a team means looking out for each other!" Ryder responded.

The team arrived at the dam and began to unload their supplies. Genevieve looked around anxiously. "The fix-it crew should be here by now… I'm going to give them a call." The mayor remarked. She pulled out her phone and dialed in a number, pressing the cellular device to her ear. "Hello, this is Genevieve Goodway, mayor of Adventure Bay. I'm calling to inquire about the repair team that was supposed to perform repairs on the dam today… oh goodness, a rockslide? That's not good at all. Well, what are we supposed to do? We need the repairs… I'm sorry, are you seriously recommending Speedmeister Structuring?! Builds that company make are prone to accidents and problems! …You can't just— and they hung up." Mayor Goodway sighed.

"Mayor Goodway, what's wrong?" Chase asked worriedly.

"I'm afraid the repair crew can't make it. They've been blocked by a landslide on the mountain. We're on our own…" Mayor Goodway revealed.

"Then we'll just have to do this ourselves!" Ryder determinedly said.

Just then, it started to rain, and the dam began to rumble. "We've got to start NOW." Ben commanded.

"The Big Truck Pups will fix the dam! Our town isn't getting washed away on our watch!" Ryder shouted as the team got to work.

Rubble started to put the bags of sand, gravel, and concrete into his truck's bin, and Marshall used his spray to turn it into concrete as Rubble mixed it up. "Now to put the patch in place! Skye, you use your plane to position the girders around the leak!" Ben instructed.

Skye nodded as she took to the air and grabbed the girders with her jet claw, getting them set in position before Rocky and Salvage screwed the girders into place. Thunder rumbled overhead, signifying the urgency. "Keep on going. Marshall, spray concrete onto the leak, then everyone else lift the blocks onto the frame!" Ryder ordered.

Marshall began to fire off concrete onto the leak, and the others got to work placing the blocks in their proper positions. When it was all done, they let out a sigh of relief. "Now that's a patch job any trucker would be proud of!" Al complemented.

"Fantastic work! You saved the bay from a terrible flood! I give it an A+!" Genevieve cheered.

Then another crack formed in the dam. "Zuma, can you go drive up to the lake and see what might be causing it?" Ryder suggested.

"Let's drive on in!" Zuma exclaimed as he drove up the winding road. Transforming his truck into aquatic mode, it rode along the lake water and swerved to avoid several fallen floating logs. "All these logs must have been knocked into the lake by the storm, and a few of them are doing some serious damage to the dam! They probably caused the first leak too!" Zuma reported.

"All right, use your hook to tow them away then!" Rocky replied.

"Ten four, Wocky." Zuma teased as he started to carry the logs away.

Then he noticed a duck nest sitting inside the dam wall! A new leak sprouted up, and the team prepared itself.

Chase activated his drone to relocate the nest. "I'm on this duck case to move that nest somewhere safe!" Chase barked as he flew his drone over to the nest, using the drone's claw arm to lift it up and carefully take it to the side of the dam by Al, keeping it out of the flooding path.

Mayor Goodway glanced around. "Where's Chickaletta?" The elected official wondered.

At that moment, the dam burst open, and the force of the rushing water carried the mayor away. She swam over to a floating log and got onto it, but she was still floating away! "Chase, after her!" Ben yelled.

"Rubble, redirect the water!" Ryder shouted.

"And Optimus and I will grab the chunk that blew off!" Al offered as he drove off.

As Al and his Cybertronian pal returned with the chunk, Optimus transformed into robot mode and set it into the hole it had left, fighting the water pressure as Marshall sprayed the concrete over it. "Come on… I'll use every inch of horsepower we have to keep Adventure Bay safe!" Al growled as he pushed back against the dam leak.

"We will not fail." Optimus declared as he pushed.

"NOW, YOU GUYS!" Marshall shouted.

Al and Optimus barely moved out of the way in time when Marshall fired the concrete cannon. They winced as they waited for something else to happen… but the concrete held. "IT'S HOLDING!" Ben and Ryder whooped.

"Hang onto the log, Miss Genevieve, I'll get you!" Chase promised as he drove up to the mayor, who was holding onto the log for dear life. Firing off his winch, it flew through the air before embedding itself into the wooden cylinder the mayor was riding, and as he performed a fancy spinning maneuver with his truck, the mayor was flung to safety. "Mayor's safe, but the water—!" Chase began.

"Is being taken care of!" Rubble interrupted as he completed his ditch, creating a blockade of boulders to prevent the water from going down the path to the town. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

As all of them regrouped at the dam, the sun began to shine down. "The repaired dam is better than ever! Thank you, Ryder, Ben, and Big Truck Pups! Especially your new friend Al! He's certainly Paw Patrol material!" Mayor Goodway exclaimed.

"Aww, shucks! Thanks, good buddy mayor!" Al giggled.

"Whenever your dam is a little leaky, just yelp for help!" Ryder chuckled.

Al smiled as he looked at the six canines. "It's been a blast working with you pups! I'm used to being on my own on the open road." Al remarked.

"You'll always be part of the Big Truck Pups… and the Paw Patrol." Ben declared, pulling out a tan pup tag with a tire on it, placing the emblem on Al's coat. "Me?! On the Paw Patrol?!" Al gasped.

"Yeah! All of us want you to be our newest member!" Rubble assured. The other pups nodded their heads in agreement.

"I've never been part of a team before! Thanks! Call me when you need some trucker power, pups! I've got a duck and nest to deliver to a new location now." Al happily said before leaving with Optimus.

The team started to head back to the Big Truck Stop, where Salvage and Blurr bid them goodbye as they had business in Griffin Rock to attend to. The Big Truck Pups certainly were going to have more adventures in store…
