Chapter Three: The Truth Revealed
Dislaimer: See Chapter One
Hello, everyone, I am glad you guys are liking what I have been writing for this. Don't worry, I will get back to Adoption at some point, just have to do some research for it first.
On with the Show:
While Dr. Studwell attended to various duties he had to do for the birth of a new fairy baby, which had to piece together what he had to do, Jorgen and Anti-Cosmo interrogated the Fairywinkle-Cosma family. Jorgen could already feel a headache coming on, that usually happens when having to deal with the shenanigans of this family of Godparents and Godchild. "How about we start at the beginning?"
"Do you mean, when we restored our memories of our second, rather first son or The beginning?" Cosmo asked Jorgen.
"The latter, puny fairy," Jorgen said. The drill instructor tone was back in his voice.
"Very well, about fifteen years ago, you would remember this Jorgen," Cosmo began to recall. "After finishing our term on a godchild, which you know how that one went, we decided to take some time off."
"I remember, go on," Jorgen recalled, it was not a best case scenario that ended that job.
"We bought that house on the northern side of Fairy World, for it being more secluded," Wanda said.
"Wanda, do you think Timmy is old enough to hear the next part?" Cosmo asked his wife, for which she was a bit surprised that her husband stopped to consider it. Timmy was still sitting in his fairy godfather's lap.
She took a moment to think it over, "Yes, I think so." As she decided it, she covered Poof's ears with her hands.
"It goes without saying, but one night, three years into our earned vacation, we had sex." Timmy's eyes went a bit wide, and he blushed in shame hearing his 'real' father talk about such topics. Wanda removed her hands from Poof's ears now that Cosmo had moved past that word.
"Next morning, we realized I was pregnant. Lot of morning sickness, weird cravings, and mood swings, the usual," Wanda said, shaking her head a bit in memory.
"Which means…" Timmy began as he began to put the pieces together about Poof's conception.
"Yes, Timmy. The night after you made your wish, was one of passion," Wanda phrased it so that she could convey her meaning and say it around Poof.
"So, as one would in our situation, we panicked, for a good hour or two. We knew there would be hell to pay if anyone found out, especially you, Jorgen. Also, if the Fairy Council found out," Cosmo said, thinking about the trouble they were still probably in.
"There still may be hell to pay, but not as much as you once may have faced." Jorgen leaned back in thought.
"Get to the part about why there is no Anti-Timothy?" Anti-Cosmo was getting impatient with this conversation.
"So, a few days after Timmy was born, I was sitting in the nursery rocking chair, feeding him while me and Cosmo talked about what to do. While neither of us wanted to give him up, we knew we wouldn't be able to keep him secret for long. So, we decided to give him up, to live in the mortal world. We found a couple that had been looking to have children, but had a stillborn," Wanda explained.
"My human parents, adopted me?" Timmy was shocked at learning this information. As would any child, whose world had been turned upside down.
"It was a dark and wet night, when we arrived in Dimmsdale. Perfect for what would happen that night." Cosmo began to speak of the fateful night. After holding you in our arms again, Timmy, with a wave of our wands, you were mortal. We placed you in a basket, and placed you on the step outside the Turner house. After knocking on the door, we hid around the corner to not be seen. We made sure not to leave fully until we were certain you were safe. Mrs. Turner answered the door, saw you, scooped you up in her arms, and went back inside. With that, we left. When we returned home to Fairy World, we wiped our memories of you to provide the final safeguard." Cosmo sighed with regret to his voice. At the time, it was the right thing to do, but it still hurt to talk about.
"So, does this mean, there is is no anti-fairy of him?" Anti-Cosmo asked, ice in his voice.
"Only person who would know that, is Anti-Me," Wanda stated.
"I will get to the bottom of this, there better be an Anti-Timothy, or you will rue this day. Rue it, I say." With the dark blue glow of his black wand, Anti-Cosmo was gone. Off to see his beloved Anti-Wanda. Cosmo breathed a sigh of relief, being near his Anti-Fairy always set him on edge.
"So, when you guys were assigned to be my fairies?" Timmy asked.
"Pure random chance, Timmy. Though, we did seem to feel a connection to you before we met you, before we recalled that you were our son," Wanda answered while rubbing Poof's stomach to which he giggled.
"How long have you guys had your memories back?" Jorgen asked.
"Two months," both fairies said. Both Jorgen and Timmy's brows raised in question.
Flashback
Wanda sat at her vanity mirror, brushing her hair. Her pregnant stomach weighing a bit heavy. When she finished brushing her hair, she looked down and rubbed her pregnant belly. "My baby, you make me the first new mother in thousands of years. The first fairy baby born in thousands of years, and I am their mother," a smile crossed her face. However, that smile was replaced with confusion, as there was now a message on her mirror. They are not the first fairy baby… Open the bottom drawer. In curiosity, Wanda opened the drawer that she never had any reason to open, and there was a letter. A letter from herself.
The note read, "Dear future me, if you are reading this, then you must either be pregnant with your second child, or the time requirement has passed."
"Second child?" Wanda asked herself, as far as she knows, she was pregnant with her first and only child.
"I know you must be confused by that statement, see you don't remember having another child. To keep him safe, after giving him up to live as a mortal, and after you write this note, you and Cosmo wipe your memories of him so that neither of you could accidentally reveal this fact. Don't worry, the memories are not gone completely, tap your wand against your head three times and say Remember, remember The Ides of March. Remember our son, find him, and damn the consequences of everyone finding out. I don't know how far in the future this is being read, so I am placing a spell on this parchment to tell you how old he is now, he has blue eyes and brown hair." The note finished. Wanda was having a bit of struggle grappling with this concept.
Bottom of the note read 12 years old, "it can't be…" she murmured. The pieces lined up too well for her to be mere coincidence. It all became quite clear when she did as the letter said to do. Tapping her wand to her head and recounting the phrase of memory, her memories flooded back to her. "It is him." At this moment, Cosmo walked into their bedroom. Wanda grabbed her husband by his shoulders, "Cosmo, remember, remember the Ides of March," Wanda said to her husband.
"What was that, Wanda?" Cosmo asked her, confused.
"Tap your wand against your head three times and say remember, remember, the Ides of March." She instructed him.
Still confused as to what Wanda was getting at, Cosmo tapped his wand against his head three times and said to himself, "Remember, Remember, The Ides of March." His wand glowed for a moment, Cosmo shook his head a couple times, and he remembered it all. "Timmy, he is our son."
"Yes, Timmy is the real first fairy baby born in thousands of years. Not this little one," She rubbed her stomach. "How ironic, we get assigned as godparents to our own son."
"That would explain why we always felt a special kinship with him more than any of our other charges," Cosmo said in thought.
"Yeah. Oh Cosmo, what are we going to do? He has a right to know, but if we tell him..." Wanda began to dread what would happen to their family if anyone outside it found out.
"We will tell Timmy, in time. Once this little one is born, then we will tell him," Cosmo said. "It also explains why you have been having those nightmares, it was a fear not for our current coming child, but for the one we already have."
"Stress nightmares that must have manifested when he was born, and my mind must have been trying to let me know the truth," Wanda said.
Present Day
"Nightmares?" Timmy asked.
"I saw, the Fairy Council and Jorgen. They invaded our home, and they took you from us. Well the faceless version of you that existed in these dreams as my suppressed memories were trying to tell me about you, just not what you looked like." Wanda answered, the thoughts of her nightmares bothered her.
"What would the council have done with me?" Timmy pushed.
Wanda's face shrewd up, not a pleasant thought. "I heard one of them pronounce a judgment of death for the crime of being born." Timmy looked at Jorgen with hate behind eyes that were afraid. He tightened his hold on his godfather, who wrapped Timmy up tighter in a hug to calm him down. Both parents fixed the Toughest Fairy in the Universe with a look that said that they would do anything to protect their sons from him and the Council.
Poof's stomach rumbled, meaning he was hungry. "Do you want some private time to feed the newborn?" Dr. Rip Studwell asked, who had been unusually quiet in a corner, learning everything he could.
"Yes, some family time would be great right about now," Wanda said, tired of having to explain things to those not of the family blood.
Dr. Studwell ushered Jorgen out. "Should me and Timmy take a walk while you feed Poof?"
"No, just…." she took a moment to find her wand, and poofed up a special cloth covering to put around herself, also turned into her more human form before she untied the gown. She felt it would make this a bit easier. Now, safely covered, she held her second child to her chest and let him feed on her milk. While Poof ate his first meal, two fairy parents turned back to their first son.
"I think before we leave today, we should get a blood test on Timmy to prove that we are telling the truth," Wanda said.
"I agree, dear," Cosmo said.
"So, why is my hair brown and my eyes blue?" Timmy asked, looking between Cosmo's green eyes and hair to Wanda's pink.
"Fairy genetics are a bit weird, Timmy. Your eyes were always blue, your hair was blue too, before we made you mortal. It works more like a bit of math as it were. See, Poof's eyes are purple, which is a combination of blue and red. Cosmo's eyes are green, which is a combo of blue and yellow. Though both of his parents had green eyes, which is a different matter. Same thing with my pink hair and eyes. A combo of Red and White. You got the blue and white genes, so you had light blue hair and eyes." Wanda explained to her elder son.
"Oh, is there a way to become a fairy again?" Timmy asked.
"Should be easy enough to fix," Wanda mused. Though Da' Rules stipulated that one could not wish themselves into a fairy, thanks to Timmy, it did not stipulate about returning one to their true self.
Poof finished eating and Wanda burped him, only to be struck by lightning. "Where did that come from?" Timmy asked.
"Right, fairy babies have no control over their magic. Weird things can happen like that," Wanda said as she shook off the lightning strike.
"So, what do we do now?" Timmy wondered. Did this mean that he would get to come live in Fairy World? Would he never get to see his friends again?
Both parents looked between each other. "You get to come home with us, and blast anyone that tries to stop that," Cosmo vowed, he would not let anyone come between their family, be it the Council, Jorgen or any human.
"That would require him to become a fairy again, and everyone that ever knew him on Earth forgetting that he ever existed." Studwell had let Jorgen back in once Poof was done eating, and Wanda was decent again. Timmy was torn on that that second thing. "As well as you all must stand before the Fairy Council and explain yourself to them. He will also need to get his wand. Speaking of which," Jorgen reached into his back pocket and retrieved a rattle with a star on it. "I have here the Magic Rattle for Poof, which will help him control his magic until he he is old enough to have a regular wand." Jorgen handed it to Wanda, who held it for Poof. Poof took the toy, and began shaking it and giggling. Fortunately, nothing strange happened. Jorgen explained why this was. "As a safety precaution, after the terror that Cosmo caused when he was a fairy baby. The Council has designed this one to be limit Poof's ability to use his magic, until he is able to properly use it."
"Smart on their part. So, when he is able to better utilize his magic in a week or two, we can teach him how to use his rattle like a wand?" Wanda asked. Jorgen nodded in confirmation.
"Now, as for the other son," Jorgen began. "Unfortunately, I must report this to the Council, and they will summon you before them. One week is what I will grant you to settle your affairs on Earth." Jorgen seemed to understand that it may be difficult for Timmy to make that adjustment, but he also knew that the Council would want o get to the bottom of this, immediately.
"So, if everyone is going to forget I exist, does this mean that there is still a restriction on revealing my fairies to anyone?" Timmy asked. The three older fairies brows raised in question. "I just, think I would feel guilty if I didn't at least tell my human parents that I am not their son, as well as my friends that they will not see me again."
Jorgen mulled it over a sec, Timmy wanted to say his goodbyes properly. "Very well. Cosmo and Wanda are henceforth, no longer your godparents, so the restrictions are lifted." Jorgen's voice got hard with what he said next. "However, you are not to mention anything about our existence until the day comes that I must erase everyone's minds of you."
"The fairest deal we will get, I suppose," Timmy remarked.
"I must return to my office and inform the Fairy Council of these developments. Enjoy your family time." With a poof, he was gone.
"Well, that did not go as bad as it could have," Wanda said, watching Poof play with his rattle.
"Yeah, are you able to leave now?" Cosmo asked, he hated hospitals and being at the Doctor. With Jorgen about to set the Council on them, he figured that they should get some family time in before that.
"Yeah, I am," she grabbed her wand and used it to get her usual outfit on, adjusted for her human-like body as well as cute little onesie for Poof. She got out of the bed, and held the infant in her arms. Cosmo stood up with Timmy in his arms. "I guess this explains why you were always short for your age, Timmy."
"Yeah, I guess it does," Timmy was a bit lost in thought as his father carried him.
The fairy family found Dr. Studwell in a different room, filing out some paperwork that he would need Cosmo and Wanda to sign. One of which would be Timmy's fairy birth certificate. When he came to work that day, he did not expect that: he would be locked in a closet and impersonated by an Anti-Fairy, the Fairy that is considered the most idiotic of them all would know how to successfully deliver a fairy baby, as well as the fact that he would end up filling out two birth certificates, one for the newborn and one for their godson.
"Dr. Rip Studwell?" Wanda said as they entered the room. He looked up at them, and was a bit startled by their tall appearance. Very few fairies, like Jorgen, looked like that anymore.
"Perfect timing, I need you two to sign these documents. Being release forms and Timmy's fairy birth certificate," Dr. Rip Studwell said. Both of them signed the papers.
"And the insurance claim?" Cosmo asked. After the incident with Cosmo's fagiggly gland transplant, they made sure to get a better one. The godparent job plan was not always up to snuff.
"They are covering most of this, I am going to do you a favor and not report the additional birth certificate or the blood test you want. I will put the test under the stuff for Poof." He smiled a bit. He could have reported everything, to get more money out of this, but despite a desire to do so, he did have some morals as a doctor. "Speaking of which, we can do the test now if you want."
"Yes, lets do that," Cosmo said.
"Alright," Dr Rip Studwell got the tools he needed to do so. A simple finger prick would do the trick. Ten minutes later, he had the results. There it was, plain as day, when compared against the samples from Cosmo and Wanda. He was their son.
"I still can't believe it," Timmy said in shock.
"Yeah, fate has weird way of these things," Wanda said, referring to the fact that they had been assigned to their own son.
"If there is nothing else, you are good to go. Be warned, there is a big crowd outside with Fairy News on the scene," Studwell warned.
"Thanks for the warning," Cosmo said as both parents moved to walk out of the Fairy Hospital with their kids in their arms.
Before exiting, "Hon, are we going back to Timmy's room or to our house here?" Cosmo asked the plan.
"Timmy's room is probably the safest place for us, right now. At least until we are summoned before the Fairy Council." They exited the doors to the gasps of the crowd. They let them see Poof for a moment. With a word to the crowd or reporters, they raised their wands and poofed away to safety, leaving everyone with questions and no answers.
With Jorgen
Jorgen sat in his office with the Fairy Council up on his wall of monitors, rubbing his temples. He was about to explain to the council the situation they were all in.
"Jorgen, I suppose you are calling to inform us that the birth went well?" The Blue Robed one asked.
"Which reminds us, are you finally going to write that law into Da' Rules?" The Purple One asked.
"Yes, to both of you. Well, aside from Anti-Cosmo trying to impersonate Dr. Rip Studwell. As well as Head Pixie and Sanderson impersonating me," Jorgen said.
"How did they learn of this?" The Pink Robed one asked in suspicion
"Well, you see…" Jorgen told them what happened. They were not pleased about this development.
"At least they were stopped," the Turquoise Robed one remarked. Jorgen bit his lip, trying to figure out how to phrase the next part.
"Something bothering you, Jorgen? What are you not telling us?" The Blue Robed one questioned.
Jorgen sighed, better to get it over with. "I have found out that this is not the first fairy baby born in thousands of years, but the second." Every member of the Council leaned toward their cameras in question and suspicion.
"There is another Fairy Baby?" All four asked in unison.
"Born twelve years ago, in a cottage on the northern side of Fairy World. Born to the same parents that this one. Given up to live as a mortal for the last twelve years." Jorgen felt like he may regret this somehow, but he had to do his job.
"What is the child's name?" The Blue One asked.
"Timmy Turner," Jorgen answered with heavy thoughts.
"Of course. Bring this family before us then. One week from now." The Council cut off their end of the call. Jorgen leaned back in his chair, rubbing his eyes. After the day he has had, he felt like he needed something sweet to eat, like some chocolate frosting.
Anti-Fairy World, Anti-Cosmo's Castle
Returning home to his keep, the de facto leader of the Anti-Fairies was not happy. Having both his plan fail, and learning that there should be another Anti-Fairy in his family, he intended to get to the bottom of this, quickly.
"Anti-Wanda, dear. Come and speak with me," Anti-Cosmo called out to his wife from their front entrance, as he made his way to his study. He sat in his favorite chair and lit the fireplace as Anti-Wanda came in.
"What is it, dearie," her American southern accent in full.
"Well, the plan to kidnap the new fairy baby failed, they named him Poof. Expect to bear his opposite in the coming weeks," He stated, as he poured himself a cup of tea. He always had a pot ready to go.
"Oh Boy, I get to be a mother," Anti-Wanda was happy.
"Don't you mean, you get to be a mother again?" Anti-Cosmo's voice turned a bit sharp. "Been keeping something from me, have we? Another son, perhaps? An Anti-Timothy?"
Anti-Wanda was silent for a moment, When she answered, her accent fell away a bit and the carefree nature dropped from her face. "I knew this day would come," she looked away from her husband in shame.
"So, he is real, then?" Anti-Cosmo leaned toward her.
"Yes, he is real," she admitted.
"Take me to him, now," His eyes flashed fiercely.
"Alright, just be prepared for what we will find," she said. That did not put her husband at ease, it only made him concerned, as she led them out of the castle.
There you have it everyone, some answers are had, and the Fairy Council is informed, some drama about to stir up. Also, if you are wondering why the code phrase was remember, remeber the Ides of March, which is March 15th, Timmy's birthday is offically March 21st, so subtract basically a week to give time for Cosmo and Wanda to have some time to figure out what to and you get March 15th, one day off of a week, but still.
As for that that little thing about Jorgen's sweet tooth, that comes from Timmy's secret wish special, and Jorgen has a thing for icing out of a container, out of guilt for what happens in that episode.
Now, as for Anti-Timmy, we will meet hims soon enough, hehehehe.
The Emperor is Out. Peace.
