Chapter 16: Ice Cold Robots

Perseus let out a loud groan of annoyance as he worked. For him, his mech and the car were covered in silly string, food bits and smell of hard booze. He had just cleaned the interior of the car as it smelled of vomit and booze.
"Seriously, it was supposed to be a casual camping trip, not a drinking fest!" Perseus shouted as he worked.
"Hey, your sisters party hard like you," Coop said smugly.
"On that note, last time I drank a lot, I passed out after just five beers and eight shots at my older sister's reception," Perseus said with annoyance.
Coop then spoke, "Dude, you were too drunk after that to drive your robot and I'm amazed you didn't get alcohol poisoning."
"Don't remind me, Jamie drew on my face while I was passed out…"
With Coop's help, Perseus got the Megas WBM aka his mech cleaned up. With that done, Coop got into his mech and took off along with Alex and his mech. Eventually, they were all in space.
For Perseus, one of the downsides of his mech was that it had a bit more armor along with weaponry and thus, Megas WBM aka the mech of Perseus was a bit slower than the others.
Out in space, Perseus was barely keeping up with Coop while Alex had no trouble at all. This all made Kiva want to ask a question to Coop.
"Coop! What drove you to fuse the fusion drive accelerator to the main primary thruster drive?"
"I don't know, I just did it…for fun? Plus we could get training done in half the time." Coop said.
"Ugh, that kind of makes sense," Jamie said nervously.
Kiva then spoke, "Primary Thrust vent is locked open! We can't stop!"
"Don't worry, we'll be fine" Coop said calmly.
Coop then got a bit nervous and put his foot down on the breaks but got nothing. Then, Coop pulled up the parking break to his right, but that didn't work. Getting a bit nervous, Coop pressed a few buttons as outside, the back fins of Megas opened a bit like an airliner plane wing but got nothing.
Worried for Coop, both Perseus and Alex both grabbed Megas and both tried to stop Coop. They were starting to slow down, but not fast enough. This concerned both Alex and Perseus.
"I'm sure we'll stop eventually."
"Yeah, by slamming into a planet!"
The trio of mechs found themselves hurtling towards a good-sized planet as then, the trio of mechs crashed landed. They created a mile-long track in the surface from the rough landing,
Eventually, they came to a stop in front of a large hole. However, it was a massive hole that was likely several feet deep along with the width. It also appeared to be square in shape. Coop then spoke up.
"See? That wasn't so bad."
"Speak for yourself jackass! Next time, think before you act brother!"
Kiva then spoke, "Um, yes it was."
Looking around after getting their bearings in order, they saw they were on a snowy type of world judging by the cold including snow. What got Alex's attention was the shape of the hole in front of them: a giant square as if it was purposely cut like that.
"What in the world?"
Jaime then spoke, "Yeah, but what's behind us is worse!"
Looking behind them, the trio of mechs found a giant robot confronting them. It was an army green colored machine that was light-dark gray in color. It had a cannon for its left hand and tan-colored barrels on its shoulders and torso.
To top it off, it had a blue visor. The robot then got into a combat stance. It then spoke in a male voice, but judging of how it spoke, it made itself very clear that it wasn't asking how they were rather, it was hostile.
"INVADERS! PREPARE TO BE DESTROYED!"
Both Alex and Perseus quickly moved to try and talk the robot down, but a warning shot into the air cut them off before either one of them spoke. Then robot then spoke again.
"This world is under my protection invaders!"
"Invaders? Like we want this ice cube." Jamie asked in confusion.
Coop then stepped forward, rolled down his window and leaned out the car to speak to the hostile robot. Perseus and Alex in case something happened as both watched nearby as Coop spoke up.
"Hey pal, we aren't invading this world. I just had a technical problem with my robot and dragged my buddies down with me and-"
The chubby New Jersey native didn't get to finish when the hostile robot punched Megas harshly. Megas got slammed into the mechs of Perseus and Alex causing them all to fall to the ground.
While both Perseus and Alex were okay, Coop was mad: his chrome finish on his mech was scratched. This didn't sit well with the chubby New Jersey native so thus, Coop got up and spoke angrily.
"My Chrome!"
"So, fall Cerulean Scum! To all those who dare take this world with their foul hands, die!"
Coop then spoke, "That does it! I've tried to play nice along with my pals! But now I got to teach you a lesson!"
"You? Teach me a lesson? HA! HA! HA!"
The robot's laughter was cut off when Coop tried to punch him. The robot caught the punch and tried to blast him with his left arm canon. This caused Coop to stumble backwards a bit as the robot prepared to fire another weapon, this time a mortar-type of cannon mounted on his back.
Both Alex and Perseus saw that the hostile robot first loaded a round into the cannon, then fired it. All three of them barely avoided the first and second shots. Coop then ran forward towards the hostile mech dodging the shots. Then, Coop punched the robot hard enough to send it flying backwards a good distance.
Both Alex and Perseus ran towards the mech to punch it themselves while dodging the firepower directed at them, but the alien robot managed to kick Perseus backwards and send Alex flying in the opposite direction.
It was then that Coop tried to same trick as his pals as thus, he got the same result as Alex: being kicked towards where the best friend of Perseus was just getting up. This was getting very annoying for the heroes.
The two mechs were barley getting up as the hostile robot was firing both weapons at them. Both managed to get up as Coop grabbed the left arm of the robot and ripped it off. Just as Perseus was about to stab the robot, it suddenly out of the blue exploded destroying it for good. This sent all three mechs flying backwards from the explosion.
Both Alex and Coop were sent flying into a nearby hill while Perseus was sent near the edge of the massive square-shaped hole. While Perseus was trying to get up and avoid falling into the hole, Coop and Jamie were confused.
"Yeah, we really taught him a lesson."
"Man, I didn't even get to rip him in half."
Kiva then spoke, "Well, except for the Primary Thruster Drive, Megas seems okay. I don't see any damage to Alex's mech or Perseus either."
"Hey now Kiva, now I got to pound out all of these dents."
Nearby, Perseus managed to get up and walked towards Coop, Jamie, Kiva and Alex. Once he got to them, he saw Coop and Alex's mechs both had a few scratches and dings. Kiva then spoke up.
"I wonder what that mech was protecting?"
The answer came in a loud thud that shook Megas. Both Perseus and Alex had the same thing happen to them as well. Upon looking at the source, they found it was a series of large ice-like spears being hurled at them.
Looking closely at the source, they all found to their surprise that the ones attacking them looked like a pack of Yetis. They appeared to be primative in terms of looks. Jamie summed up what everyone was thinking.
"Um, I think it was a bunch of space yeti looking dudes."
The pack of space yetis kept throwing spears of stone and ice at them as their leader stepped forward. The group saw their leader judging by his spiked shoulder armor speak at them after roaring at them.
"We will never go down without a fight!
After fighting the rogue robot or mech, no one wanted to fight against the space yetis as then, Coop spoke to them while getting out of his mech while everyone else sat put.
"Whoa, whoa! Take easy there Big Foot! I'm not here to fight you guys! My pals Perseus and Alex don't want to fight you guys either."
"Then why did you do this along with your pals?"
"Do what?"
The chieftain gestured to the ruins of the fallen robot that had attacked the team earlier as it blew up again, but in a smaller explosion that took out its head. The alien leader then spoke again.
"Destroyed our guardian!"
"Uh, he was like that when we got here."
Both Perseus and Alex facepalmed at Jamie's answer. Alex dropped a quick series of swear words from his mouth that would've shocked Coop's mom. Kiva then spoke up.
"Jamie, they saw us do it."
Coop then spoke, "Hey, that guy attacked me and my pals."
"Yeah, what he said. We crashed here by accident and got attacked by him. He drew first blood, not us." Perseus said calmly.
That last bit creeped Coop out a bit along with Jamie. Kiva on the other hand understood it along with Alex. Upon clearing up the matter, the alien chieftain looked to space and spoke up.
"The Cerulean race will surly attack us now."
This confused Coop as while everyone was explained the situation along with introducing themselves as the Cryhocks. They also learned of the chieftains name and that was Ator.
On a nearby planet within a formidable fortress, another robot was in a good mood. This alien robot or mech was named Drallag and he was like the robot Coop and Co. defeated by accident.
Only difference was that he had a pair of red eyes, had red detailing in various parts of his robotic body and had a different type of cannon for where his left hand would be at. On top of it, he had an orange horn on his head.
Laughing darkly at the fate of the robot who was a defector of his army, Drallag then spoke while observing the remains of the fallen turncoat robot. It wasn't of sadness, but of contempt.
"Well old friend, it seems you have met your end or have been beaten. Idealistic fool and traitor who got what he had coming to him. You knew this day would come."
The alien warlord then switched the video feed from the defeated machine to a member of his army. The unit looked like the villain Shockwave from Transformers but was dark green and had an orange mono eye along with red fins on the head.
"Prepare my flagship for departure and assemble extraction teams. Today, we finally finish tearing that pathetic planet apart once and for all."
Moments later, a very large and heavily armed spaceship left the fortress for the nearby ice moon. On the other hand, Coop along with Kiva, Jamie, Alex and Perseus walked with Chief Ator to his village.
Perseus wore a dark green winter jacket and black gloves with a black hat. Coop wore a marron and gold jacket with the number 12 on the back and another one on the front. He also had a gray-blue scarf around his neck. Kiva wore a dark blue jacket.
Alex wore a silver-gray jacket featuring the letters NWA on it with brown gloves and red winter hat. Jamie on the other hand, simply wore a winter version of his usual jacket with his hoodie up.
"So, break it down here, explain to me what's going on here again?"
Chief Ator spoke, "Being machines, the Cerulean race require water to maintain their internal cooling systems. However, they are a selfish, wasteful breed. They ravaged their own eco systems, depleting it completely of its hydration or in your terms, their source of water."
"Kind of like you with the Big Glug dispenser at the Speedy Mart Coop." Jamie said with a snark.
Coop had a flashback to when he kept going back and forth to said dispenser draining it completely. This made others unhappy including himself. Back in the present, Coop spoke up defensively.
"Hey, the sign said unlimited free refills."
"And from what I heard, you got banned from that store afterwards ya greedy bastard…" Alex said with narrowed eyes.
"Dude…"
Chief Ator cocked an eyebrow at the noodle incident of Coop. After that bit, the Cryhock Chieftain then spoke again to the heroes standing near him.
"Our planet has enough ice to rehydrate their internal cooling systems for eons. So, they began taking it from us."
"And that mech was the only thing stopping it." Kiva said calmly.
Chief Ator then spoke, "Yes, it was…"
"Maybe you guys should build a better robot next time."
Jamie's comment earned him a death glare from Alex while Perseus gave the New Jersey native a WTH look on his face. Chief Ator then spoke again.
"We can't! That robot was the leader of the Cerulean Invasion Force. After realizing our plight, he switched sides and vowed to defend us from his own people. And we were safe, until now."
Coop then spoke, "Hey, it attacked me and my pals! Okay listen, since we messed up your whole deal here, we'll stay and fix it!"
"We will?" Jamie asked in confusion.
Then suddenly, a fellow Cryhock alien ran up to the group and looked winded. After looking at everyone, the alien the spoke to his chieftain and the group.
"They're coming!"
Everyone looked to their left to hear jet engines. What they all saw was at least half a dozen small ships that were apparently dropships heading to them. It meant that the aliens were arriving.
Chief Ator then spoke, "Take shelter!"
While the women and children of the village took shelter, the heroes headed to their mechs. The males got ready to fight the invaders. On the other hand, the enemy forces landed and started to deploy.
One of the enemy units had what looked like a large device on it. It resembled a large railroad spike, but had red lights on it and was dark gray in color. Two other units were carrying the same thing.
Behind them, more enemy units that resembled tanks appeared to escort them. So far, only three transports deployed while the other three were nearby.
On a nearby hill, Coop, Jamie, Kiva and Chief Ator watched the action. Perseus and Alex on the other hand were busy defrosting their cockpit windows.
"Coop, are you sure about this? Beating up one of them was kind of fun, but taking on a whole space-attacking yet force?" Jamie asked.
"Please, if those space yetis couldn't beat one of them, this should be cakewalk for Megas." Coop said confidently.
Coop then walked back to Megas with Kiva and Jamie in tow. By the time they did, both Perseus and Alex had finished defrosting their windows and got inside. For Coop, his car was frosted over creating a problem that Jamie spoke out loud.
"Unless we can't get in Megas that is."
Just as Jamie told Coop what their big problem was, both Perseus and Alex took off and headed straight for the invasion force. Perseus fired his arm canons to destroy three of the machines holding the large devices on them.
Alex followed it up by smashing the remaining units leaving none left to retaliate. Both then destroyed the mystery devices and got ready for more. On his ship, Drallag snarled in anger at this act and spoke.
"Deploy more! Take out those two…whatever they are so we can win! Looks like this got more…interesting…"
On the planet's surface, both Perseus and Alex saw more transports landing near the village of Chief Ator, this time more tank-like units deployed and fired.
This forced the duo of Perseus and Alex to take cover allowing more enemy units deploy additional units. Said units deployed newer devices into the ground. One of the enemy units spoke to his superior.
"Marker 1 in place! Markers 2, 3 and 4 in place! Guide makers in place!"
While Drallag saw the progress, Coop was still trying to get into his robot as Jamie watched the fight while Kiva spoke up in grave concern.
"Coop! We're running out of time! Perseus and Alex need help!"
"Man! I wish I had a deicer right now!"
On his ship, Drallag smiled darkly at his combat forces keeping both Perseus and Alex in place. With them occupied, he then gave his orders to his units on the planet's surface.
"Keep those enemy units occupied and initiate the incision sequence."
A lacky gave the orders including activating the ship's powerful laser. It descended from space and impacted the ground. It then started to cut the section the markers laid out. Jamie saw the laser and pointed it out.
"Uh, how's that for a deicer?"
"Yep, that's a pretty big deicer…"
As Coop said that, both Perseus and Alex saw the laser touch the first marker and then, it turned straight towards where Coop, Jamie and Kiva were at. Kiva warned Coop about the incoming danger.
"Kiva, I'm trying!"
Jamie then called Coop to hurry up which caused the latter to say the same response he'd given to Kiva. Then, Coop thought he was in the clear, but his primary key broke in half.
Frustrated, in a last resort maneuver, Coop decided to punch his way in using his right hand. With the window broken on the drivers side, Coop was able to open the car door and get in.
Once in, Coop was able to open the other doors for his car. Kiva and Jamie quickly got in and then, Coop maneuvered his mech out of the way just in time, but just barely though.
At the same time Coop smashed his way in, Perseus activated a bunch of missiles to give him and Alex some breathing room. With the enemy temporary incapacitated, both went to Coop and saw him get out of the way of the laser.
"You guys okay?!" Alex asked.
"Oh, I'm fine! But someone is in big trouble now! For its time for the Jersey boys to show them who is boss!" Coop shouted.
"But can we see?" Jamie asked.
Coop then spoke, "I don't need to, I got instinct."
Then, Coop proceeded to fire a bunch of missiles that while a few took out enemy units, the rest slammed into Chief Ator's village and to where Perseus and Alex were at. Both survived along with the villagers, but the village was damaged.
"Dude! Seriously?!"
Alex shouted instantly while Perseus shot Coop a death glare. Both Jamie and Kiva gave him the same look causing Coop to give a nervous expression. He tried to explain, but he didn't get the chance.
"Nice shooting Coop," Jamie said with a smirk.
"Instinct huh?" Kiva said angrily.
Coop then spoke, "Okay, maybe we should clear the windows."
On his flagship, Drallag was seeing that there were not one, but three guardians now that he had more data on hand. This was very annoying to him as his attention was on Coop's mech as he spoke.
"What's this? A new Guardian to complement the other two? I won't be stopped a second time! Destroy that…whatever it is along with those other two!"
With that command, the enemy units on the ground attacked Megas while Coop and Jamie were trying to deice the front window of Coop's car.
"Coop! Get us out of here!"
Kiva's shout prompted Coop and Jamie to work faster. While they were deicing Megas, Coop kept driving his mech which was dangerous on its own due to the ice. Coop managed to clear some of the ice away, but his vision was still poor.
At one point, Coop was hit and fell onto an enemy tank destroying it. Nearby, the Cryhocks and Chief Ator watched the action with cautious hope. The chieftain then spoke up in hope.
"We're saved! Hail the new guardians!"
Seconds later, Coop got up and accidently backed into a village home breaking it by accident. Peresus and Alex both facepalmed at this bit as Chief Ator's tone then shifted very quickly in response to Coop's slip up.
"We're doomed."
Chief Ator's reaction wasn't misplaced. Coop wasn't at the top of his game while deicing and driving at the same time. It robbed him of being able to fight properly. Due to it, he was vulnerable along with Kiva and Jamie.
"Almost got it!"
As Coop shouted his progress, his right foot accidently tripped a weapons switch. This fired a destructive beam out of Megas' chest. Thankfully, no one was hit by it, but it caused an avalanche.
"Ah, ha! I can see now! You guys are in trouble now!"
"I liked it better when we didn't."
Both Perseus and Alex saw it and raced to try and stop it. By the time the got there, they didn't have time to fire any heat beam as all three mechs got buried in the snow. On the other hand, Drallag saw that this new guardian was helping him in an ironic way. This confused and amused the evil robotic alien in many ways.
"Well now, these new guardians are nothing of the sorts, well except for two of them that is. One of them has done more damage that we have!"
Drallag laughed darkly as he saw that the incision was going smoothly. In spite of the antics of the Megas team, he wasn't being stopped. One of his minions spoke of the progress that was going on the ice planet.
"Forth Marker reached! Final incision is commencing!"
"Prepare for extraction! I want this planet sectioned off and in our holding base inside our fortress soon!" Drallag shouted.
Drallag looked up from the digital map to see Cryhocks running in terror. Smiling darkly due to his plans going well along with the heroes appearing to have been stopped, Drallag spoke to himself and everyone present.
"Run little Cryhocks, soon there will be nowhere left to run…"
Back on the surface, Chief Ator shouted in despair at the bleakness of the situation. Thankfully, it wasn't going to last long as suddenly, Megas along with the mechs of Perseus and Alex blasted out of the snow.
"Nobody Avalanches me!" Coop shouted.
"Yeah, because you can do that fine on your own…" Jamie said with a snark.
"Coop! Perseus! Alex! If we don't get that marker out of the city, they're all dead!" Kiva shouted suddenly.
All three nodded and headed towards one of the markers. It lifted the spirits of the natives of the planet greatly. However, this did not go unnoticed by Drallag as he then spoke to himself as he saw the heroes flying.
"So, they think they can stop me? Send in all Ground Support! Annihilate them all!"
With one command, more enemy units landed. Seconds later, they got off the transport and suddenly, transformed from tank mode to robot form. This caused the Megas heroes to stop in their tracks. It was then that Drallag himself showed up, walked up to the heroes and then, spoke to the team.
"Most impressive display…I salute you guardian…. whatever you are except for your two companions."
Coop then spoke, "The name's Coop!"
"Well then, Coop, it seems you've done quite a bit of work for me despite the meddling of your companions." Drallag said darkly.
"The name's Alex motherfucker! The guy next to me is Perseus! We're not giving up protecting these creatures from bullies like you!" Alex shouted back.
Everyone glared first at Alex for his sailor mouth. Then, they all glared at Coop as a structure collapsed at the Cryhock village. It was then that Drallag spoke once more, but this time with malice.
"Now then, stand aside and let me finish cutting up this wretched little world…"
Then, Coop got madder than Hades as he then did his signature rant as both Perseus and Alex got into fighting positions. The Cryhocks would also hear the rant as Coop spoke in his angry voice.
"Listen up you dorky sounding ice grubbing robotic chump! You ding my chrome, broke my window and made me break my favorite key!"
Perseus then spoke, "Um Coop, the last two were of your own doing, but you were in a hurry. The chrome bit was done by that rogue robot we fought earlier."
"Do you mind dude? I'm on a roll here…"
It was then at that moment that Chief Ator got the trio's attention. With a sheepish smile and wave, he reminded them of what Drallag did to his people. Coop then glared at Drallag angerly on the behalf of the Cryhocks.
"And oh yeah, you also tried to cut up the planet of the space big foots. You want some ice? Glad to oblige!" Coop said quickly.
Coop then shifted gears to fight and charged forwards. Perseus and Alex quickly followed behind him. Coop threw the first punch knocking a trio of bots over. Perseus and Alex did the same prompting more enemies to charge at them. It didn't work as more and more enemies kept getting smashed and ripped apart by the trio.
Eventually, Coop picked up a leg from a destroyed robot and started to use it like a hocky stick. Perseus and Alex both got the same idea and started to do the same. Due to this, they were causing robotic carnage.
"Aw yeah! High Stick!" Jamie shouted.
The heroes kept going at it much to the anger of Drallag. Eventually, Coop knocked the head off one robot. Seconds later, he sent the head straight to Drallag.
"YEAH! SLAPSHOT!"
Both Perseus and Alex heard Jamie's shout, looked at each other in confusion and then resumed kicking butt. On the other hand, the robot head was caught by Drallag and fired his arm gun at the heroes.
Coop blocked the shots as the heroes stared down Drallag. Then, Coop charged towards Drallag and the two fought, but Drallag managed to knock Coop down. Both Perseus and Alex went to help Coop quickly.
Drallag was about to hit the downed mech of Coop, but then, Alex jumped and delivered a double kick sending the villain back. Snarling, Drallag tried again, but Coop, Perseus and Alex managed to get out of the way in time.
Coop then ejected out damaged hands with new ones. This puzzled Drallag, but not Perseus and Alex as a study by them showed why: nano machines, but very limited in certain circumstances.
Then, all three mechs charged forward and gave Drallag a brutal Right Upper Cut punch. Perseus then gave Drallag a double kick with Coop and Alex helping. This sent the evil alien robot flying into a nearby snowpack. The relief of the heroes was short lived as Kiva's voice got everyone's attention.
"Coop! Perseus! Alex! We still need to deal with that last marker!"
"On it, no sweat!" Coop shouted.
Coop, Perseus and Alex then took off to deal with the last marker. Nearby, Drallag got up from his smack down and saw the actions of the heroes. Drallag then spoke while snarling at the trio.
"Oh, it's not over yet guardians!"
While Drallag retreated to his flagship, the laser kept going with its cutting. Coop, Perseus and Alex managed to arrive at the last marker. Together, all three managed to rip the top piece off it.
The laser reached them seconds later forcing the trio to run. Sure enough, the laser kept on following them. Jamie was confused and spoke up.
"Is this your plan?"
"Uh, yeah?"
Back on his flagship, Drallag arrived on the bridge. Shoving a mook out of the way, Drallag saw that despite Coop's best efforts, the cutting pattern was completed.
"At last, begin extraction!" Drallag shouted.
A mook powered up a device that deployed from Drallag's ship seconds later. Then, it began to lift Chief Ator's village from the planet. The heroes watched in stunned silence as it happened.
Drallag smirked at the progress. Sure it was annoying, but it was still going according to plan. Afterwards, he then spoke to his forces with orders.
"Prepare for next markers while I'll deal with these pests."
Back on the planet's surface, the laser was shot back down. The heroes saw it was now behind them forcing them to run. Kiva quickly shouted to Coop with worry.
"Coop! Get rid of that device!"
"I'm all over it!"
Just as Coop spoke, he looked at a button called "Big Red Button of Irony". Just seconds later, while being chased by the laser of the enemy warship that was collecting ice, Perseus got an idea of using a mirror to reflect the beam back and destroy the enemy.
"Hey Coop! Got an idea!" Perseus shouted.
"What is it?" Coop asked.
After explaining it, Kiva looked stunned and spoke, "That's insane! We don't know if the mechs will be able to take it!"
"Better those idiots than have this plant suffer!" Perseus shouted back.
"What Perseus said! Let's do it!" Alex shouted.
After activating their respective arm shields, Perseus held his breath as the laser beams hit the arms of his mech at the same time it hit Coop's along with Alex's before they started to angle the beams.
"Guys! Watch it! The mechs can only take so much before you all could destroy them!" Kiva shouted.
The trio on the other hand just gritted their teeth as the beams slowly were being angled by the Megas team much to the shock of everyone around them including the baddies themselves.
Then seconds later, they all hit pay dirt as the lasers cut up the ship like cheese and then right after that, the ship exploded in massive fireball. The beam kept going and hit the homeworld of Drallag blowing off a chunk of the planet thus, ending the battle in victory.
"Those bastards had it coming…" Alex said.
"Yep, let's say goodbye to this real life Hoth and go home…" Perseus said softly.
"However, the arms of all the units need to be checked, took some damage doing so…" Kiva said.
Just as they were about to leave, Perseus was suddenly hit by a headache and saw a vision: he was running from a group of men in white hoods carrying weapons and torches while shouting the N word.
As quickly as it started, it ended prompting Coop, Kiva and Alex to chime in to see what was wrong. Kiva quickly spoke first to Perseus.
"Perseus, are you okay? My scanners detected a sudden increase in anxiety."
"I'm okay, just jitters that's all."
The response from Perseus didn't sit well as both Coop's mech and Alex's mech got near Perseus. With a gentle motion, the two mechs picked up Perseus' mech and flew back home.
Nearby, the Cryhock Chieftain Ator rubbed his chin in deep thought. His people were safe from the attempts to steal his world's ice stores. Then, he spoke to himself.
"It seems there is more to you Perseus than you're letting on…"
A/N: I'm so very, very sorry that this took nearly two years to finally see the light of day again once more.
The big reasons it took so long was work, trying to relax after work, getting distracted by politics, finishing up Vandread GA: The Second Stage, working on Dimensional Rim, a few vacations including a road trip to South Dakota, watching SAO for fanfic work with Jax1776 and AceSeraph, watching Skeleton Knight In another World (FWI: First Episode is not for those who hate attempted rape or human trafficking. Episodes 3, 4 and 5 are a bit like depths of darkness for the anime), trying to get through my Gunpla backlog (it seems to barely decrease every time I complete a kit), BS excuses and the train wreck known as Wannabe Dictator Biden.
I've also been playing Azur Lane lately as grinding takes up time. Don't worry, I'm determined to see that this fanfic is done as other fanfic work including the sequel to Vandread GA: The Second Stage is on ice until then.
