Part 6- Evening
Stampede stood on the side as Freedom sat and talked with Ash on the revelation she was accidentally told.
Freedom: *nervous* So I snuck onto a plane with solider heading over and ended up in the war-zone for a few months. When the war was about to end, I about had enough and-well, SNAPPED.
Ash: Snapped?-*realization* Red eyes right.
Freedom: *nervous* Y-Yeah, I nearly took out the armies in one go, took decades for that area of that to grow life again.
Ash: How did that work?
Freedom: *chuckles a bit* Peg-Leg was basically barking orders at them from what I heard when I woke up. I woke up much later, but since then the world leaders made a rule that we're basically our own nation-AND not to have us involved in war least the areas be decimated.
Ash was speechless as she starred at him, making Freedom more nervous.
Freedom: *nervous* Ash..Ashley are you-
Ash: That, explains so much on why your not called to war. Your basically walking time-bombs-
Soar: *walks out* More like physical energies that can level an entire tri-state area if we reached a certain level on anger.
Ash did a double take seeing Soar walk over.
Stampede: Sorry for the vanishing act there-
Soar: We figured you three might need a break after today.
Ash blinked as she leaned on the stadium wall.
Ash: That thought alone worries me. How do you control that?
Freedom: Well we have eachother for support, the teams help us as well. So far in years we only show it and that's enough for a scare.
Ash:-*curious* How so?
Stampede: Well, when we go red eyed you humans can actually feel our power. From what Alto had told me when Troy traveled with him, when they arrived to help Talon; Troy mentioned the air was dense-now think of that without Talon's power and a little more denser.
Ash: *Shivers* Whoa...
Soar: Yeah. It is immediate.
Ash: I'll keep that in mind in the future, in case you guys go to that point to help calm you down. I'll let the others know too so we all can keep an eye on that.
All three smiled as Ash got up.
Ash: Now then, Let's check on Sonar guys.
.
.
.
Peg-Leg: *strokes Sonar's hair* -sighs- Poor lad had a day.
Sonar had finally fallen asleep after his team (being relieved and calmed down) had left seeing he was in good hands.
Lt. Matt: Agree, let's be glad it did not end bad.
Ash and the three Rusherz walked back in, seeing Sonar out.
Ash: He's asleep?
Bolt: Yeah. Half of this day was emotionally exhausting for him.
Stampede: Best to take him home and rest-
Freedom: I agree...
All turned to Freedom, who (even after the day he had) looked more calm than he was in recent months.
Freedom: *small smile* I'm good, don't worry. I think it's best we all go home.
Canton, Ohio; Ash's house...
Ash flopped on her bed tired and pajamas on, her father sitting on the side of her bed.
Ash: I was not expecting any of that today.
Charles: Neither was I, but I'm glad your okay.
Ash nodded in agreement.
Charles:-sighs- These Rusherz are doing their all to protect you and your friends. *Ash sits up hearing this* Stampede apologizing for things he didn't even know was going to happen till you got there...gonna be honest they worry me.
Ash blinked hearing this.
Charles: I mean, I heard stories on how much they gone through and I can't help but worry about them.
Ash: I agree with you and working with them drives that notion-*thinks*-Hey Dad? *Charles turned to Ash* How did you know about Stampede and Grizzly's past occupation, or at least a little bit of it?
Charles gave a small smile looking up.
Charles: Your grandmother told me this story.
Ash sat up fast. She had never met her Grandmother, as she had passed away before she was born.
Ash: G-Grandma?
Charles: Yes. In fact she actually knew one of the Rusherz personally, Freedom.
Ash eyes widen hearing this, first time hearing of this story.
Charles: Your Grandmother, when she was your age, was sent to a school with dorms that began to have both genders attending. However, something was going on in the shadows, so Freedom was sent to investigate as a student counselor. *chuckles* The two of them were friends fast, she even assisted him in the investigation. *eyes furrow* However, the closer they got the more the people behind this went after them, and it culminated to a scare that lead to Freedom getting injured. *chuckles* YOUR GRANDMOTHER was furious, and took it all in her hands. Those involved in the shadows were caught thanks to her, and the school was able to continue the school year.
Ash...was speechless. She had no idea her Grandmother knew Freedom..did Freedom knew?
Charles: *Smiles* She of course became a fan of his team when they started, and during one of their first games...she met your Grandfather. I do believe you know the rest.
Ash was practically beaming nodding.
Ash: I had no idea, this-this is incredible!
Charles: I know-I never would have thought you would become a Guardian and help the Rusherz, helping Freedom. I will admit as much as I worry about you, you remind me so much of your Grandmother too. She would be so proud of you with what you are doing.
Ash tears fell as she smiled, hugging her father.
Ash: Dad, thank you for telling me. C-Can you tell me more about her later?
Charles: Of course sweetie, I would love to tell you more about her.
Next day, HOK...
Freedom smiled as he finished talking to his team.
Freedom: Good to see their doing well. Can't wait for the Hall of Fame game-
?: Hi Freedom.
Freedom turned to see Ash, surprise to see her here early.
Freedom: *concern* Your early today Ash, everything alright?
Ash gave him a warm smile, and a bit of tears.
Ash: Do you know a-a Serena Croft?
Freedom's mouth dropped, eyes widening the more he looked at her.
Freedom: *shock* H-How do you that name-
Ash: My Dad; remember when he said his mother, my grandmother told him about Stampede and Grizzly*Freedom nods*...She's my grandmother.
Freedom starred in shock...AND then passed out.
Ash: *worry* FREEDOM!?
To Be continued..
