Mei can't stop laughing over Arashi's match. Not only had he beaten the Hero Course at their own game, he'd made a JoJo reference out of it too! It was just too good.
As soon as Arashi got back to his seat, Mei was all over him, "Mochi! What was that baby you showed off? It was so cool!"
Arashi chuckles, "It's a collection of nanobots I can project electricity through, allowing me to form shapes. I chose to take the stand approach because most of our other babies are references, so I figured I'd take the most recognizable route and draw some extra attention to what I'm capable of."
Mei has stars in her eyes, "Mochi, you're a genius! There's no way in hell those support companies haven't got you on their radar now! And where one of us succeeds, so does the future company! Hatsu-zuki Industries is going straight to the top!"
Arashi raises an eyebrow at the name, but before he can say anything Mei chimes back in, "Name pending! Since I've got a partner now, I'll need to re-brand, but I couldn't think of a good combo of our names on the spot."
Arashi chuckles, "Don't worry, we'll figure something out."
Mei nods, "Of course, we're only the brightest minds in the Support Course after all!"
They get a few looks for that last statement, but no one refutes the claim.
The other matches continue on, but Arashi doesn't pay enough attention to learn anything other than that his opponent is Katsuki Bakugou. Instead of watching the fights, he and Mei are debating which Gundam they're going to construct.
When his next fight comes up, Arashi strides into the arena and faces off against the jackass that had gotten first on the Hero Course exam. The boy had gotten a pretty big head about it, but Arashi was about to wipe the floor with him. After all, he had scored the highest on the Support Exam.
The go is given and Bakugou instantly rockets at Arashi, only to slam directly into a wall from one of the inventor's projectors. Moving to go over the wall, Bakugou lets out a frustrated roar as the wall just expands to block him.
Walking forward, Arashi begins to push the wall along, sending Bakugou back towards the boundary. Keeping his leisurely pace, Arashi hums a small tune to himself, a habit that usually cropped up when he was tinkering.
Bakugou hammers the wall with explosions, roaring with fury, "WHY WON'T YOU FIGHT ME?!"
Arashi shrugs, "You aren't worth the effort."
And with that, and one final push from the wall of light, Bakugou falls out of bounds and the fight is brought to an end.
The next battle is over rather quickly, with Todoroki emerging as the victor. The next match would be the final one, and would decide the winner of the sports festival.
As Arashi takes to the field once more, he can see his opponent bearing a conflicted expression. Given everything that had happened, Arashi feels he has an idea what that's about.
Before the match begins, Arashi calls out, "Don't feel like you need to use your fire against me. That's something you should take at your own pace, so come at me however you like."
Todoroki nods, a small smile of gratitude on his face.
With that, the fight commences. As ice starts to encroach on Arashi, he calls out Overtime to start dealing with it. Not only did the artificial stand pack a powerful punch, but the heat the electricity generated would make his job so much easier.
Todoroki had been pushing his ice hard throughout the entire festival and was nearing Quirk exhaustion. Meanwhile, Arashi was nowhere close to his limit, and had extra energy to fuck around with. Might as well do something fun with it.
Storing Overtime, Arashi forms his right hand into a simple finger gun, his left coming to rest on his thumb as he prepares something he's always wanted to do. He's about to fan the hammer.
Arashi looks Todoroki directly in the eye and says, "It's High Noon."
Moving his hands as if he were using a real revolver, Arashi fires off multiple quick blasts of electricity at his opponent, stunning him with the sudden pain. Rushing forward, Arashi wastes no time in pushing Todoroki out of bounds. Though he does help the boy back up after his win is declared.
Arashi claps Todoroki on the shoulder, "Tell ya what. You drop by the Support Labs anytime, and me and my partner will whip you up some Support Items to help balance your temperature, and harness your elements better too!"
Todoroki nods with a small smile, finding that he doesn't really mind losing to this boy, "I'll have to keep that in mind."
As Arashi heads of to prepare for the festival's closing ceremony, it finally hits him what he's done. He's the first Support Student to win a UA Sports Festival.
…
"Fuck yeah!"
A/N: Here is your chaos, enjoy! On an unrelated note, I think I'll try and have the ship get together in the next chapter. So I'll see you when that happens, whenever that is.
