Byleth can feel it coursing through her veins, bubbling up inside her. A blinding fury that's begging to be released.
Everything had started off well, but now look where they are. Sealed inside USJ with a horde of Villains. The students are scattered, communications are cut off, and Thirteen is out of commission. Aizawa lets out a pained grunt behind her, seemingly injured now. Taking a quick glance, Byleth's fury burns hotter as she sees her colleague's elbow cracked open, a large patch of skin now missing.
Suddenly, the strange beaked monstrosity the Villains had brought along is right next to Aizawa, reaching out for him. Before the beast can grab him, Byleth severs its arm and pulls Aizawa away, putting herself between the beast and its target.
Byleth calls out to the Villain seemingly in charge, a blue haired man-child, "Hey, this monster you've brought doesn't seem quite human. What is it?"
The man cackles, "You're right! It isn't human! Anymore. He's our genetically engineered puppet! An Anti-Symbol-of-Peace! Nomu!"
If looks could kill, the man wouldn't even be ashes now.
Byleth speaks, her voice deadly calm as the air begins to heat up, "I see. I suppose I won't have to feel bad for this then."
By now the Nomu's arm had regrown, the corpse puppet roaring as it readies to attack. Before it can move, Byleth rushes forward and severs all four of its limbs before impaling it through the heart.
The lead Villain cackles, "Oh my! How ruthless! But that won't be enough to kill Nomu!"
Byleth's retort is simple, as the temperature around her spikes dramatically, "I know. I wasn't finished."
With an overwhelming wave of heat across the entire USJ, a massive geyser of flame stretches all the way to the ceiling, melting a hole in the glass as well as through the concrete floor. When the flames begin to fade out, green eyes lock with the main Villain's, the pupils fully contracted into lizard-like slits. A chill runs down the Villain's spine, he could swear he just looked his own death in the eye a thousand times.
When the flames finally cut off, all that's left is Byleth, her equipment entirely unharmed despite what she'd just done.
Calmly, she exits the hole in the ground she'd made and begins moving towards the lead Villain.
The man, panicking, calls out, "K-kurogiri!"
A portal opens directly in front of her, but Byleth easily cuts through it as if it were nothing more than paper, the portal's remains dissipating harmlessly.
It's at that moment the other teachers arrive, Snipe's gun ringing out as bullets find their mark, several of them on the lead Villain. Quickly, Kurogiri portals the two of them out, leaving all their minions behind to be rounded up.
Turning to Aizawa, Byleth approaches and carefully takes hold of his injured arm. Before the man can question her, a quick pulse of healing magic finds his flesh knitting itself back together. Moving on, Byleth begins to perform healing on the other injured individuals, even the Villains that had broken in.
Thinking back on the Nomu, Byleth couldn't help but be reminded of the Agarthans and their terrible experiments with both the living and dead. Eventually arriving at Thirteen, Byleth sees that Flayn is already attending to the Space Hero.
With a satisfied nod, she goes to find Seteth. Being the Vice Principal of the school, he should be informed on what had happened.
Approaching swiftly, Byleth places a hand on his shoulder and asks, "Could I speak with you in private?"
With his assent, Byleth pulls Seteth off to the side and tells him everything, including her fears relating to the Agarthans. She doesn't fear that they'll return, no Byleth knows they're all long dead, she fears that someone is trying to become like them, knowingly or not.
Seteth nods gravely, "This is troubling news indeed. We'll need to put more resources behind investigating this group than I originally anticipated. For now, however, I believe we should first focus on resting and recovering from today's events. We may be escaping today with no physical wounds, but the stress is sure to have taken its toll on the minds of our students."
Byleth nods. Yes, rest sounded perfect about now. When all is said and done, statements are given, captures are made, etc. Byleth heads back to her apartment and straight to bed. She's asleep before her head even hits the pillow.
She has strange dreams about a woman with long, bright green hair and pointed ears.
A/N: New chapter, woot! Anyway, I'm tired rn, so see you when I do.
