Chapter 6 - Let the Battle Trials Begin!
After a harrowing first day at U.A. High School, Mutsuki and Soya, and their two new friends, Kaetsu and Otonashi, were beginning to leave the school's prestigious grounds. All the while, conversing about the day's events, as well as what was to come at their new school.
"Man, I honestly can't wait for hero course class! Especially knowing that All Might! Thee All Might! Will be teaching us!" Kaetsu exclaimed, literally jumping for joy.
"I know! Hopefully, he won't be as intense and threatening as Ms Ueshita," Mutsuki replied.
All of them, besides Otonashi, immediately gave out a recoiling shiver.
Soya, appearing to have remembered something, was next to chime in, "That reminds me, have any of you even heard of her before? I've been trying to place her hero name to memory, but I don't think I've even heard the name, Doctor Phoenix."
Both Mutsuki and Kaetsu shook their heads confoundedly. Otonashi however, was quick to give an answer, "You're not the only one. I took the time to search her up online, thinking that she's probably more of a low-profile hero like Eraserhead..."
"And?" Mutsuki questioned with intrigue.
"And nothing. There's no info on her whatsoever. Not even on the public hero sites. Even people who regularly post stuff about pro heroes were stumped when I asked."
"Wow, that's actually... kinda creepy, not gonna lie," Mutsuki replied.
"Maybe she's just a really unpopular hero! Like so unpopular that no one has a clue who she even is!" Kaetsu suggested.
"Even still, there should be at least some stuff on her online. Even pro's who are very unpopular or obscure are still, at least, mentioned once or twice," Otonashi explained.
"Then maybe she's ACTUALLY a villain in disguise. Plotting to bring down all of hero society!" Kaetsu joked with a cat-like smirk, posing herself like an evil villain plotting.
"T-that can't be possible! The U.A. staff would surely know that something's up otherwise. R-right?" Soya's expression slowly turned to that of immense worry.
Kaetsu let out a evil villain laugh in response, "Mwahahah!"
This was met with a flick to the head by Otonashi, with Kaetsu hissing back at him. The two immediately began to get into a tussle with each other, albeit playful. Mutsuki, meanwhile, was the one to ease Soya's concerns.
"Don't worry, Yuusei! I highly doubt the teachers would let an ACTUAL villain roam around the school," she told him, confident in her words.
Soya, however, was not the least bit reassured, "Yeah, but still..."
Almost immediately, Otonashi appeared right next to him in a puff of black smoke, causing him and Mutsuki to start coughing and fanning the smoke with their hands.
He then wrapped his arm around him before telling him, "You worry too much, my guy. What you need is a good distraction."
"YEAH! Like going to the arcade!" Kaetsu exclaimed, popping up inbetween them.
"Sounds like fun! I'm in!" Mutsuki announced.
The three of them then looked at Soya, awaiting his response. He rubbed the back of his neck anxiously before a smile began to warm its way onto his lips, "I guess I'm in as well."
"YEAH!" Kaetsu shouted before running on ahead, the three following after her.
Meanwhile, inside Principal Nezu's office.
"Principal Nezu. We need to terminate Ueshita's employment here. She's gone too far," Aizawa announced, visibly angry, as he sat in front of Nezu's large desk alongside a rather bored Ueshita.
"I'm sorry if my teaching methods are not to your 'rational' standards, young Shota. But I honestly can't see what it is that offends you so," Ueshita replied, nonchalantly.
"You attacked the students! Using your combat abilities and even your QUIRK on them!"
She proceeded to give him the side-eye, "A bit hypocritical, seeing as you have no issue using your quirk on your students, as well as that binding cloth of yours."
"I only use them when I need to impose penalties on misbehaving students, not to carelessly beat them to a pulp!"
"For the last time, it was an assessment, one that was to properly gauge their potential in the hero course, no different from yours. Furthermore, you have no say in how I run my class as all teachers in the hero course at U.A. possess the ability to apply their own educational methods when instructing their students, even if it goes against standard school procedures. I may have been absent from teaching at this school for many years, but I know for a fact that that is one thing that has not changed."
"Even so, dealing physical harm towards untrained and inexperienced students isn't 'educational', it's downright cruel and immoral. Surely, someone who's been a teacher for most of their life should have the foresight to know this. Or do you simply want another repeat of what happened to your last class?"
This struck a nerve inside Ueshita, as she glared at him menacingly.
"That's quite enough, both of you," Nezu's gentle voice intercepted, glaring frustratingly at the two teachers.
"It has only been the first day of the semester, and the two of you are already at each other's throats. Shota, I can understand where you're coming from with your criticisms towards Chisuke here. But please, don't bring up sensitive subject matter that you know are still difficult to discuss."
Aizawa heaved out a guilt-filled sigh, "I know... I apologise. I shouldn't have said that last part."
"And you, Chisuke. I'm well aware that this is par for the course when it comes to your teachings, but you have to remember... Though you were allowed to come back to the school as a full-time educator, you are still under strict supervision by not only the school board and I, but also the HPSC (Hero Public Safety Commission). In saying that, if your 'assessment' of the students ever got out to the major public, the school board and the safety commission would have no choice but to take drastic action, such as revamping the entire U.A. faculty, or even going as far as to shut down this institution entirely. And I for one know that's not something you want to make happen," Nezu explained, gazing at Ueshita with a sympathetic expression.
"No, that is not what I want in the slightest," Ueshita began, "But you can't expect me to coddle these students. I, more than anyone, knows that they need to be better prepared for the life of a hero. I don't care that we are currently living in a peaceful era, thanks to All Might. To me, it's nothing more than a facade, or at best, a temporary state. These students need to experience the same pain and turmoil that we teachers went through before they can ever be deemed ready for what comes after. And if I have to become a heartless monster for that to happen, then so be it."
With that, Ueshita stood up from her seat and bowed respectfully to Nezu before taking her leave. Nezu then gave an exasperated sigh.
Aizawa soon spoke up, "Principal Nezu... I have the utmost respect for you and your decisions, but I just don't understand why you brought her, of all people, back as a teacher here. It isn't rational."
"Because despite her unscrupulous methods, I know that above anything else, she makes it her life's mission to make sure her students reach their highest potential in any way she can. What transpired with her previous class has no doubt left its mark in how she currently views things. I let her come back not only so she could teach... but so she can also learn to move on from the past. She's kinda like you in that regard," Nezu said, giving Aizawa a warm smile.
Aizawa furrowed his brows, regarding Nezu's statement with a thoughtful expression.
Later that same day, Mutsuki had just returned home from her time spent with her friends. As soon as she opened the door, the brown, furry body of Kuri almost immediately bounded up to her.
"Hehe, yeah, yeah, I missed you too," she giggled, receiving a few licks on the chin from her dog.
It was then that she noticed a piece of paper on the nearby table stand. Curious, Mutsuki gently pushed Kuri off and grabbed it, revealing it to be a note that read, 'At training ground. Meet me there - Dad.'
After getting changed out of her school uniform and into some more casual clothes, Mutsuki proceeded to sprint towards the old, abandoned baseball field that she had spent most of her time in the ten months leading up to the entrance exam. She was still extremely relieved that she managed to pass, and that all the hard work her father did for her didn't go to waste. One day, she hopes to pay him back for everything.
The sun had fully set when Mutsuki arrived at their training ground. However, she was shocked to see that her father was nowhere in sight. She surveyed the area before looking at the note.
"Maybe I'm too late," she whispered to herself.
Unbeknown to her, a figure began to steadily approach her. Hearing some slight movements, Mutsuki was just about to turn around when she was caught off guard and was suddenly grabbed by the mysterious assailant. Mutsuki was unable to see their face as they had placed her into a sleeper hold. She tried to pull the arms off of her but they were just way too strong. So instead, she opted to use her quirk, applying Red into her legs. Holding on tightly to his arms, she then used all her power to flip the person over her body. Despite their significant weight, Mutsuki succeeded, throwing them hard onto the ground in front of her, only for them to be revealed as...
"Dad!"
Mutsuki's father let out an audible groan before quickly sitting up and rubbing at his back, which was aching terribly from the impact.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow! You really weren't holding back that time, huh Junko? Hiss, ugh, it's either that or I'm getting old," he grunted, standing up and pushing at his back.
"Dad, what were you trying to do exactly?" She asked, sounding rather annoyed.
Her father began to stretch before replying, "I was just testing you on your ability to sense danger, that's all. Have to say though, it needs a bit of work. I mean, you essentially just let me place you in a chokehold. If I were a villain, you'd be dead."
She looked at him with an exasperated expression as he went into a downward duck stretch, "Noted. So is that the only reason you invited me out here or was there more?"
From his downward duck pose, he proceeded to go into a handstand before pushing off of his hands and flipping back onto his feet, showing off his pure athleticism. Mutsuki, however, was not impressed by his performance.
"Actually, I did want to hear how your first at day at U.A. went," he answered with a smile.
Mutsuki's eyes immediately lit up, "Well, uh, it was great actually. I got to meet my classmates. Soya was there too, along the two people I met during the exam. I actually hung with them for a bit after school. You'd like them, they're super funny and cool, especially Fuji-chan!"
"Hehe, well, I'd love to meet them sometime. Did you make any more friends among your classmates?"
She began to scratch at her cheek, "Kinda.. maybe... Not really. I haven't gotten to know most of them. Though, there are these two other guys I also met during the exam."
"Oh? And here I thought you were pining for that boy, Soya. Who'd have known you're a player just like your old man," he teased, grinning cheekily.
Mutsuki started to laugh, "Dad! Be serious! Yuusei's more like a brother to me! Besides, one of the guys is stuck up and totally hates my guts. And the other," she pondered on the green haired boy for a bit before saying, "He doesn't seem really interested in anything."
"Well, there's still plenty of time to get to know the rest of your class. Speaking of which, what's your teacher like?"
Mutsuki's smile completely faded, which her father took quick notice of.
"She's... kinda wasn't what I was expecting. She's a little too intense and doesn't seem all that heroic. I mean, just today, she made the entire class fight her or we'd be expelled, which completely isn't fair!" She exclaimed, tightening her fist.
"I hear ya, Junko, but you have to remember... You're going to THE best hero school in the country. Odds are they're not gonna make it, at all, easy for you there. Heck, when your Mom and I were going there, our teacher put us through constant training 24/7, all day, everyday. It was absolutely brutal! The point is that U.A. is a school that pushes you to go beyond your limits. Hell, it's even in the dang school motto!"
"I guess, but... something just feels wrong with that teacher, ya know? We don't even know she even is!"
"You... don't know who she is?"
"No, her name is Chisuke Ueshita. She also refers to herself as The Nurturing Hero: Doctor Phoenix, but the thing is none of us can recognise her at all. We even tried searching her up online but nothing. It's like she doesn't even exist!"
Her father pondered on this information, "Can't say the name's familiar. Though, it isn't really that odd for some heroes to go into obscurity. It usually happens to older heroes. I suggest you and your friends try not to worry about it too much."
Despite her father telling her this, she couldn't help but worry about it even more.
The next few days went by as regular, mundane school stuff, as Class 1-C has hero lessons scheduled on Wednesdays and Saturdays, whilst 1-A has them on Mondays and Thursdays, with 1-B on Tuesdays and Fridays. During this time, their homeroom teacher barely gave the students much attention other than the typical school announcements. Even most of the other students kept to themselves. That was until the day finally arrived...
"HAHAHA!" A booming voice rang out through the hallway before All Might's large stature came bursting through Class 1-C's door enthusiastically. "I AM HERE! TO TEACH YOUNG CLASS 1-C!" He announced, doing a heroic pose as he pointed at all the students.
The class's previously bored mood instantly electrified upon seeing the number one hero, with murmurs going about the class.
"I can't believe he's ACTUALLY our teacher!" One student exclaimed.
"This year's gonna be AWESOME!" Another student vociferated.
"Ohmygod!Ohmygod!Ohmygod!Ohmygod!OHMYGOD!" Kaetsu squealed, her voice gradually getting higher as she leaned forward next to Otonashi, who just gave a chuckle at her antics.
"He really is gonna be teaching us," Soya said, stunned.
"Hmm, sure, he's cool and all. But he's not a hit with the ladies like yours truly," Takaishi, who sat behind Soya, announced, with no one paying him any attention.
Meanwhile Mutsuki was grinning ear to ear with excitement, "This... is... incredible."
"Now, if I can get everyone's attention, please!" All Might called out, silencing the entire class. "Great! Time to get down to business! Right now, you all are about to take part in the most important class we have here at U.A.! That's right, folks... HERO TRAINING! But what is one of the aspects of being a hero all about?! Well, instead of expositoring it like some amateur fanfic writer, why don't I just show you!" From one of his pockets, he pulled out a white card with the word 'battle' on it.
Multiple students cheered upon seeing it.
"Alright! We get to fight!" The tornado girl shouted.
"HA! Just wait! I'm gonna pummel the rest of you chimps into the ground with this one!" The muscular boy with scars on his face announced.
"Weren't you two part of the first set of people who got taken out almost immediately by Ueshita?" A guy sitting at the back of the class told them, earning him intense glares from them, to which he smirked at.
"Alright, boys and girls! Time to get suited up!" All Might suddenly announced, pressing a button that opened up slots in the nearby classroom wall, of which, held numerous numbered cases. "Once you're all dressed, meet me over at Training Ground Beta ASAP!"
With that, All Might dashed out of the room with supernatural speed, as the students began rushing to grab their respective cases.
...
Some time passed before the students of Class 1-C began to make their way through the tunneled entranceway, leading out into Ground Beta. They all then stepped into the light, revealing them, now furbished in their immaculate hero costumes.
"Look at you all! Most people may call you students, but you know what I see... YOUNG HEROES!" All Might proclaimed, gazing at the twenty students, dressed in their hero outfits.
Mutsuki looked down at her hero costume, her eyes sparkling with admiration. Her costume consisted of a orange, sleeveless skinsuit which ends at her thighs and splits into a lengthy coattail behind her, along with a pair of black, skin-tight sleeves, and a pair of black, skin-tight leggings that fully covers both her arms and legs respectively. She also wears a pair of black, tactical gloves, and a pair of black, combat boots. Additionally, on the middle of her chest rests a silver insignia shaped like a peace sign with the letter 'v' running through it, and resting atop her head was a mouthless, white and red-accented, kitsune mask.
She was soon snapped out of her trance when she heard a familiar voice, "Wow, cool costume Junko."
"Thanks! It's meant to resemble my mom's-WOAH!" She exclaimed, now gazing at Soya's hero costume.
He was decked out in a full, heavyset, black armoured suit, with purple accents, along with a purple cape, and a see-through, headgear visor that covered most of his face, except his mouth.
Upon seeing his friend's shocked expression, he immediately lowered his head, feeling dejected, "I know... it's a bit much, isn't it?"
There was a slight pause before Mutsuki responded, "No, no! Of course not! You look awesome! I'm just surprised, that's all!"
"Really?" He asked, looking up at her, hopeful.
"Really! Although... It all looks kinda heavy. Must make it difficult for you to move around in that thing."
He sighed, "It does... I was trying to minimise how much damage I would get in a fight by requesting that my hero costume be a heavy-duty set of armour. I didn't really consider that they'd put a lot more emphasis on the heavy part of it."
"Yeah, I know what you mean. This suit of mine is skin tight, I should have gotten into more detail about how I wanted it to be. I can still move around easy enough, but it's just annoying, ya know?"
He nodded in understanding.
Soon enough, Kaetsu and Otonashi approached them, wearing their respective outfits.
Kaetsu's costume was very reminiscent of the costumes worn by the Wild, Wild Pussycats, only with way more fur. In saying that, she sported a sleeveless, beige, fur-covered collared top decorated with three straps and a bell, along with a pair of brown and beige striped, puffy, shorts, with a beige cat-tail, an orange belt with pockets, a pair of large, furry, cat gloves, some brown, furry, mountain boots, and lastly, a pair of clip-on, circular cat ears.
In contrast to her more outgoing appearance, Otonashi dawns on a jet-black and yellow-accented, v-shaped vest, with a belt around his waist. Underneath, he wears a traditional, black martial arts uniform, paired with black armguards. He also wears a pair of black and yellow-accented tactical gloves, along with a pair of knee-high boots that follow the same colour theme. Lastly, for his mask, he wears a black cloth that is tied around the back of his head.
"Jun-chan! Jun-chan! Look, look! I'm a cat!" Kaetsu exclaimed excitedly, putting up her cat gloves and doing a cat pose.
"So you are. Adorable and fierce!" Mutsuki replied, flexing her arm for emphasis.
"You two don't look bad yourselves. Looking mighty fine, Junko. And you, Yuusei... look hella badass with that suit on," Otonashi chimed in.
Soya scratched his lip, "Thanks, but I have a feeling it's gonna be a scorcher in this once summer comes around."
"Alright, Class 1-C, listen up!" All Might shouted to the class, getting everyone's attention. He then quickly continued, "Now, I bet you're wondering why we're currently in one of the fake cities we used for the exam! Worry not, children, you will not be fighting any robots today! Instead, you'll be fighting VILLAINS!"
"So, what? You've got people to pose as villains or something?" The girl with the green spikes questioned with an unimpressed expression.
"HAHAHA! Not exactly, young Uni! But you're not far off. The villains I'm talking about... will be some of you!" He exclaimed, pointing his large finger at the class.
"Can you please elaborate on that, Mr All Might?" Kikyo asked, raising her hand.
"CERTAINLY! What I mean is that all of you will be conducting mock battles against each other, with half the class posing as villains, and the rest being heroes!"
"SO WE GET TO FIGHT EACH OTHER NO HOLDS BARRED!" Both the tornado girl and the beastly-looking guy exclaimed vehemently.
"HAHA! No... There are rules you all need to follow."
"Dang it," they both said in unison.
"Firstly, you must keep damage to each other to a minimum. You may be conducting battles, but this is still training after all. Secondly, you will all be split up into teams of two. Teams will then face each other in a set of one-on-one mock battles, with one team being the villains, and the other team being the heroes. Additionally, this will be your scenario," to everyone's surprise, he suddenly pulled out a script. "Villains have hidden a nuclear missile that they must protect at all cost, and it's up to the heroes to either disarm the weapon or apprehend the evildoers."
Budo was next to chime in, "So the villain team wins if they protect the weapon or defeat the heroes, and the hero team wins if they either defeat the villains or take down the weapon, correct?"
"YES! Of course, the weapon will be fake, and I'll be giving everyone capture tape that they can use to figuratively capture their respective opponents."
"Great! So we'll be fighting out on the streets then?!" The guy with the man bun replied.
"No! For this exercise, you'll all be fighting... INDOORS!" All Might then dramatically pointed at one of the massive buildings next to them. "Now then! If there aren't anymore objections, we'll begin by drawing lots to decide the teams!"
"Aw, how come we don't get to decide who we team up with?!" Kaetsu complained.
"Most heroes, more often than not, have to sometimes team up with other heroes they know next to nothing about! And the best heroes you'll find, are the ones who are versatile enough to work with anyone and everyone!" All Might explained.
"Mm, I guess that makes sense," she muttered, still pouty.
"ALRIGHT! THEN LET"S D-D-D-DRAAAW!"
All Might proceeded to then announce the team ups, "Team A is Kebin Yoshio and Reido Anegawa! Followed by team B, Kasui Uni and Mitake Kikyo! And then team C, Morihei Shama and Maho Neko! Team D, Tabito Otonashi and Kinji Takaishi! Team E, Hidai Kubota and Yawakami Meiji! Team F, Junko Mutsuki and Fujisaki Kaetsu! Team G, Yuusei Soya and Ikuji Saihara! Team H, Inei Tokuyo and Marie Sotsu! Team I, Hayashi Kenzaki and Junan Budo! And finally, team J is Tatsumaki Ukiya and Shinoha Futaba!"
"Yay! You and me are gonna be the best team ever!" Kaetsu celebrated, wrapping her arms around Mutsuki's neck.
"Glurp... Fuji-chan... you're... choking me," Mutsuki choked out, struggling to breath under Kaetsu's bear-like strength.
Meanwhile, with Team D...
"Hmm, well I was hoping to team up with one of the illustrious girls of our class, I guess I'll have to make do with you, as long as you can pull your own weight," Takaishi said to a now smirking Otonashi.
"Sure... This coming from the guy who got taken out first by our teacher," he retorted smugly, causing Takaishi to glare at him.
Now over with Team G...
"The hell you looking at, bucket head," Soya's rugged-looking teammate growled out, his long, ragged, blue hair spiking out even more.
"N-n-nothing! Nothing at a-all, I promise!" Soya replied immediately, trembling in his heavy armour.
All Might let out an audible cough to catch everyone's attention, "Now then, let's decide who our teams to fight are!"
He proceeded to then reach into two boxes being held by small robots on either side of him, with one box labelled 'villains' and the other labelled 'heroes'. He then pulled out a small ball with a letter on it from each box.
"It seems our first battle will be... Team B vs Team A!"
"Guess we're up," a nervous Uni groaned out, scratching at her spiky, green hair.
"Let's just do our best, Kasui," Kikyo responded to her, her voice brimming with positivity.
"Alright! It's time to show everyone what we're made of! Right, partner?!" An enthusiastic Yoshio exclaimed, wrapping his muscular arm around Anegawa.
"Who cares? Let's just get this over with so I can go home and sleep," Anegawa replied, his exasperated expression in complete contrast with his teammate.
"Alright, Team A, you're the villains so you have five minutes to head inside and set things up! Team B, you wait out here and try and come up with a plan to beat the bad guys! Also, you may want to take these!" All Might then handed both teams little, metal earpieces, "They're radio transmitters, they'll allow you to communicate with your teammate if you ever decide to separate. Now then, the rest of you, follow me into the monitoring room to observe their progress!" All Might explained.
Mutsuki, along with the rest of the class, were then led by All Might into a secluded area filled with various computer monitors and a metal console that held a microphone and a myriad of buttons.
"Keep your eyes open, students! This may be their teams' battle right now, but take this as an opportunity to analyse their performance, as well as learn from it to aid in your upcoming battles," All Might instructed, before standing in front of the console.
Mutsuki looked on with a determined expression as she watched Team A set up their fake missile.
"So all we need to do is guard this thing? Then this should be a piece of cake!" Yoshio proclaimed, flexing his arm.
Anegawa looked at him with a bored expression, "Um, not like I care or anything, but... why are you pretty much half-naked?"
Yoshio proceeded to look down at his hero costume, which was nothing but a black speedo with a wrestling belt paired with a gold buckle, along with a pair of green, rubber boots, and a green mask he wears over his eyes.
Anegawa, on the other hand, was wearing a black and blue swat team outfit, with a bullet-proof vest, a utility belt, a pair of arm-guards and knee pads, and a pair of tactical boots. His costume's most prominent feature, however, is the black and blue hat he wears atop his head.
Yoshio quickly rubbed the back of his head shyly, "Oh well, because of how my quirk works, anything I wear pretty much just gets in the way."
"Oh," was all he said.
"We should probably think of a way to beat the other team... I know! I'll guard the entrance!" Yoshio announced, eagerly fist-bumping the air.
He then placed his head onto the weapon behind him, and almost immediately, his arm began to gradually turn into the same material that the weapon was made out of. It wasn't long before his entire body became enveloped in the substance, his once tan skin now turned into a jet-black colour.
"Yeah! This'll do nicely!"
Kebin Yoshio
Quirk: Assimilation
By touching any solid inorganic substance, his body can then mimic that substance, creating what is essentially armour for himself. However, some substances have varying weaknesses for him, such as making him too heavy, or too brittle, or even having him succumb to certain temperatures. Additionally, his armoured body has a limit for how much damage it can take before it breaks.
'Oh wait, he's that rock guy that went toe to toe with Ueshita. Hmm, he may be an idiot but he's strong. I'll just let him handle this battle," Anegawa thought to himself before taking a seat next to one of the pillars in the room.
Yoshio looked at him, surprised, "Uh, not to seem pushy or anything, but shouldn't you be preparing yourself for when the other team finds us."
"I think you got it covered. Though, if they do manage to find us, do me a solid and keep the noise to a minimum, okay?" Anegawa replied before tipping his hat down.
"Uh, sure... Wait! You're seriously gonna take a nap while we're in the middle of the training?!"
Even with Yoshio's yelling, Anegawa was still quick to fall asleep.
Back in the monitoring room...
"He's not taking this seriously one bit, is he?" The girl with the gel-hair stated.
"Then he's an absolute idiot. His team will lose thanks to his indolence," Budo added, his arms crossed over his chest.
"I mean... I guess he's acting sort of villainous. Just letting his lackey do all the dirty work," Takaishi replied.
"Even still... In a situation like this, it is key to be aware of your surroundings. This is true for both heroes AND villains. I don't know what exactly young Anegawa's strategy is, I only know that it's probably not a viable one," All Might answered.
Meanwhile, Team B was still waiting outside.
"How are we supposed to even find the other team in the first place? Only they know the layout of the building and they can pretty much hide the weapon anywhere. It's so unfair!" Uni complained, kicking up gravel.
"It may be a bit unfair, but it is somewhat realistic. Most all villains who hide away in secure buildings have an unfair advantage against heroes. However, what we can do, as heroes, is predict their movements based on relative information," Kikyo answered.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, if I were in the villain's shoes right now, I would definitely place whatever I'm guarding either at the top or the center of the building, which will make it difficult for heroes to get to. I would also place traps all over the building to ensnare and kill my enemies, as well as have people with me as extra muscle to help kill off any enemies that got passed the traps. If worse comes to shove, I would just hold somebody hostage or threaten to bomb the entire building, But that's just how I would do it," Kikyo finished with a smile.
Uni's eyes and mouth were wide with slight terror, "That was... extremely specific and thorough."
"Hmm, I guess it was."
"Alright! Let's begin the indoor combat training! Team B and Team A, your time starts now!" All Might announced over the microphone.
With that, the battle trials had officially begun.
