Chapter 11: The Legend of Nemesis' Revival

"I'm ready to go." Yuki stepped up.

"No," Ginga pulled Yuki back. "I'll do it. Let's go, Pegasus."

"That is fine." Dynamis accepted. "You are next to lose."

"I understand." Yuki backed out.

"Let us begin." Dynamis declared.

"The only way for me to win is to keep attacking persistently and unendingly." Ginga decided and switched his Fusion Wheel to 'Upper Attack Mode', sending Jade Jupiter into the air. "What's the story?" he urged Dynamis. "Why don't you pick it up and try attacking too?"

"I thought you'd do these tactics." Dynamis grinned. "However..." he had Jade Jupiter stay in the center of the Beydish. "I have no intention of playing along with your strategy."

"Not on my watch." Ginga retorted. "Pegasus."

"A waste of time." Dynamis snorted, Jade Jupiter landing back into the Beydish.

"The metal balls are still struck in the inner position." Demure's sharp eyes realized Jade Jupiter still remained in 'Defense Mode'.

"Wait a minute." Madoka replayed the recorded battle in slow-mo. "The metal balls have been on the inside since the battle began. Jupiter started this battle in defense mode."

"Unfortunately, I have seen through your strategy." Dynamis stated. "No matter how much you attack, Jupiter will remain in defense mode throughout this contest. So, how will you fight with the defense mode Jupiter as your opponent?"

"There's no turning back now." Ginga stood his ground. "The only thing to do is to keep going until Pegasus breaks through those defenses. Pegasus, 'Smash Mode'!"

"He didn't see through the strategy." Kyoya scoffed. "That guy just revealed his cards in the previous battle on purpose. He wanted to get Ginga to focus on attacking and think about nothing else."

"What's the matter?" Dynamis taunted. "In the end, you are also nothing more than a tiny star orbiting my great planet."

"You keep thinking that." Ginga glared. "No matter who my opponent is, I will not give up until the very end."

"This is very sad." Dynamis sighed, the force of the deflected Pegasus sent the Bey wobbling. "I cannot believe this is the extreme limit of your power. How were you chosen by the Star Fragment? It is an honor to be a Legendary Blader and you are just not worthy."

"You're right." Ginga admitted. "I got caught up in the idea of being called a Legendary Blader. Then, I went out to look for the others. He made me realize the real truth." he recalled what Ryuga told him. "But since then, I've been training very hard to become a true Legendary Blader, one worthy of possessing Cosmic Pegasus. That is why I will not lose; not here, not now. As long as Pegasus and I have the special move created with everyone's support, I will not lose. Special Move: Pegasus Cosmic Tornado! Go for it one more time." he told Pegasus.

"Interesting." Dynamis mused. "You have been able to gain this much control over a Bey with the power of the Star Fragment. My Lady, you were right to entrust the future of the world to them." he turned to a dark corner and Seina stepped out.

"Seina-nee?" Ginga gawked in surprise.

"That's..." Nile gaped.

"Ginga's sister?" everyone else exclaimed.

"Now, it is time to reveal all." Seina produced Asteria's Astrolabe and bathed the arena in a blinding bluish light.

"Where are we?" Ginga looked around, the group finding themselves transported to space.

"A long time ago, a star fell from the sky." Asteria related. "The Beyblades of today were born from the tremendous yet unknown power possessed by that star. But this story took place several thousand years before that. There was another star fragment that had already descended on Earth. That particular Star Fragment encountered the Black Sun which orbits our Sun in a 26 million-year period. During the Star Fragment's amazingly long journey towards Earth, it absorbed a certain amount of negative energy from the Black Sun. Luckily, the negative power of the Black Sun didn't fall into human hands immediately. As a result, a great Bey civilization flourished several thousand years ago with the Beys born from that Star Fragment. Unfortunately, those peaceful days did not last forever. There was one part of that Star Fragment that was filled with the power of the Black Sun that was brought to the ruler at that time; Hades. The negative power draws out a person's wickedness. Hades gathered the power of the Black Sun from the Star Fragment and created the strongest Bey, Nemesis. Using that mighty power, he punished the people who did not bow to his tyrannical ways: he destroyed all those who dared oppose him in his attempt to create an ideal world for himself. The power of the Black Sun was far greater than Hades could have imagined. Nemesis began an out-of-control rampage, becoming the God of Destruction, bent on destroying the entire world. At that time, the king of the neighboring country, Zeus, aided by Asteria's first human incarnation, rose up against King Hades and his evil. He gathered five brave Blader Warriors together to face the God of Destruction. These five Blader Warriors also possessed Beys, that like Nemesis, held the power of the Star Fragment. In order to defeat the power of the Black Sun which had come from the far depths of space, they used Beys that held the power the Solar System's planets. But having turned into the God of Destruction, Nemesis' power was incredibly strong. Even with the power of the Solar System's Beys, defeating the Black Sun was no easy feat. The battle between the five Blader Warriors and Nemesis continued with no end in sight. As that long fight dragged on, the Warriors were injured, grew tired and used up all their strength. Just when it looked like there was no hope left for the world, Asteria used the last of her life-force energies to activate the ritual circle that would infuse Gaia's power into the five Blader Warriors. Gaining the power of Gaia, the five Blader Warriors stood up once more and combined the power of Gaia and the five planets into one to finally seal Nemesis away deep within the Earth, along with King Hades' soul. The world was thus saved from destruction for the time being."

"For the time being?" Yuki echoed.

"It was sealed deep within the Earth." Dynamis took over. "But that does not mean Nemesis was completely destroyed. Right before Hades was sealed away, he made a frightening promise that he would return. King Zeus gave this temple to one of the five Warriors." he added, Seina transporting everyone back to the temple. "This Warrior was ordered to pass down the dark promise left by Hades to his descendants. Since then, Star Fragments have come; they have arrived on Earth many times. Once it was known as the Orichalcum of Atlantis; once it was named the treasure of the Mayans and has always have a huge impact on humanity's history."

"The power of the Star Fragment can be used for good or evil, depending on the one who possesses it." Yuki stated.

"And each time, the battle between good and evil is fought again." Dynamis added. "Nemesis has been secretly absorbing the power of those evil-doers and preparing for its own revival. 'When a dazzling glow lights up the Earth from the Heavens, a new Star Fragment would arrive and awaken a great power. In order for Nemesis to be fully revived, it now needs to obtain the mighty power of the Star Fragment itself. Using the ancient ruins around this temple, I predicted the time of the Goddess Asteria's awakening to retrieve her. Our Goddess read the stars and predicted Nemesis' revival. To prevent the evil-doers from gaining that power, our Goddess used her power to split the power of the Star Fragment into multiple pieces. The destination of those pieces was definitely decided by the will of the Star Fragment. Unfortunately, we believe the great evil already possesses one of those pieces. If Nemesis were to be completely revived once more, the five Solar System Beys will need to be gathered once again. The power of the Star Fragment has already been delivered to these five Beys. One came to me, the descendant of King Zeus' right-hand man and battle strategist. One to the descendant of the courageous and daring army commander, the Saturn Blader Warrior and his Saturn Bey, Cronos. One to the descendant of the fierce attacker who always led the charge, the Mars Blader Warrior and his Mars Bey, Variares. One to the descendant of the Venus Blader Warrior who made sport of Nemesis with his ever-changing techniques and his Venus Bey, Quetzalcoatl. And one also went to the descendant of the Mercury Blader Warrior who gathered the Warriors together and used his wealth of knowledge and wisdom to support King Zeus and his Mercury Bey, Anubius. Those who possesses the pieces of the Star Fragment each have their own role to play."

"I have a little question." Kyoya spoke up. "What about my Bey, Leone? Why did the power of the Star Fragment also enter into Ginga's Pegasus and Ryuga's L-Drago?"

"Seina-nee, please explain." Ginga begged.

"Class dismissed." Johannes cut in. "It was a real pain to get this thing open."

"The evil-doers." Dynamis glared at the interlopers. "The followers of Hades. Protect Goddess Asteria!"
