Sorry for the wait, life has gotten in the way, and I might have lost some motivation with writing lately. Hope you like this chapter.
Chapter 8
Arizona
"Karev" I call out down the hallway, when I see Alex come out of a patient room.
"what?" he says in his annoyed tone that he always uses. He was an amazing doctor and friend once you got past the fact that he's always grouchy.
"please tell me you didn't just discharge Tommy Johnson" he looks at me confused "why would I do that? He's your patient"
"your name is on the chart too" I say to him holding up the iPad I was holding.
"but he's still your patient, and I know better than to discharge one of your patients without you"
"good boy" I smile and pat him on the head
"I'm not a damn dog" he mutters
"no but I trained you well" I smile and head off hearing him grumble, I laugh and make my way to my office. Sitting down at my desk, I flip through the charts on the iPad. Signing what needed to be signed and looking over my schedule for the week. I didn't have much going on, that's how it was most the time, leaving myself open for emergencies. My pager beeps, reaching into the pocket of my lab coat I see it's a page to the lobby. Confused, I stand and head out, wondering who would page me to the front lobby. When the elevator opens I see Janelle and Sherry standing there with a stroller, that Janelle had a hold of. Sherry was holding a round tin, and when they saw me they both smiled "hello Dr. Robbins" Sherry says her voice high pitched and cheery
"hello ladies" I smile walking closer
"we just wanted to thank you again for the amazing care you've given us" Sherry says holding out the tin "I baked you some cookies"
"oh?" I smile reaching out for it
"Sherry is an amazing baker" Jenelle comments, I smile and look down into the stroller at the baby who is asleep. "she's amazing" Jenelle says with a smile that told me she was a proud momma.
"that's good" I smile back at the couple, not really knowing what else to say, thankfully I didn't have to as my pager went off "I'm sorry I've gotta go, thank you for the cookies" I say holding up the tin. I hadn't even looked at my pager yet, but when I did, I smile. It was my wife, paging me to her office. Hitting the button on the elevator, I look down at the tin in my hand, doesn't hurt to have one. I open it and take one out, shoving it in my mouth, as the door opens I step in. "oh you got cookies?" I hear, and look up seeing Callie. Taking a bite out of the one in my mouth, I hold the open tin up to her "want one?" she smiles and reaches in the tin, pulling out two. We ride in contented silence both nibbling on our cookies. "Arizona these are" Callie starts to say "wait you didn't bake them did you?"
"no" I shake my head taking another bite "a patient gave them to me" I look up meeting her eyes "actually she was our patient, remember Janelle?" I hear her laugh "oh I remember her, she and her wife were the ones who kept asking uncomfortable questions"
"that's the one" I laugh taking another bite, Callie reaches in and grabs another couple cookies "for later" she smiles as the door opens. Alex is standing there, I hold up the tin for him to take a cookie, and walk on by. Humming as I did so, by this time I've already ate like 4 cookies, offering them to everyone as I walk by. Finally at Meredith's office, the door is closed, but because I'm her wife I don't bother knocking and just walk right in. Once the door is shut, I turn and am met with a pair of blue eyes. "cookie" I say holding up the tin. She smiles and stands, reaching for the tin, but I pull it away "nope, kiss first"
"gladly" she laughs and places a soft kiss on my lips, she moans when she gets a taste of the cookie. Putting it back in front of her, "now you can have a one"
"oh a reward for a reward" she laughs taking one and taking a bite
"lesbian gratitude cookies" I laugh
"lesbian gratitude cookies?" Meredith repeats, I nod "and who gave you these delicious lesbian gratitude cookies?"
"Jenelle and Sherry"
"the crazy ones?"
"hmm" I set the tin on the coffee table and pull Meredith into me, placing my lips on hers. "you paged?"
"I did, I was missing you"
"I'm always missing you" I reach for her hand and pull her down on the couch.
"those are good" she reaches for another one. "how many have you had?"
"I'm not sure, I gave some to Callie, and Alex, and a couple nurses along the way"
"hmm" she hums leaning into me. After a few minutes of sitting there, my pager goes off, pulling it out, I see it's another page to the lobby, letting out a groan "I have to go" I kiss Meredith's forehead and stand. She stands too, "is it a patient?"
"I'm not sure what it is"
"I'll come with" she smiles reaching for my hand, forgetting all about the tin of cookies, we leave the room. Once getting to the lobby, I see a distraught Janelle and an even more distraught Sherry "ladies" I greet them
"Dr. Robbins we are so sorry" Sherry is the first to speak
"do you still have the cookies?" Janelle asks I could tell she was trying not to panic but wasn't doing a good job at hiding it.
"well" I say looking at Meredith
"we need them back" Janelle says "when I made them I just grabbed some peanut butter, not realizing until we got home, I ended up using the cannabis peanut butter we had from when Sherry hurt her back"
"wait so you're saying you gave her pot cookies" Meredith exclaims
"well" Sherry shrugs
"yes" Janelle says "we're so sorry"
"Arizona" Meredith say looking at me "who had a cookie?"
"um" I try and think, smile and shrug "who didn't" I hear Meredith let out a groan, "thanks for telling us"
"we're really sorry" Sherry says
"it'll be fine" Meredith sighs, by this time I can start to feel something, and she notices "come on, we need to call a meeting" she reaches for my hand and pulls me to the elevator. I start giggling, and when Meredith looks at me she starts too. "we need to find Bailey"
"why?" I ask sobering up
"half the staff in this hospital is going to be high" she smiles, I reach over and boop her nose "you had one too"
"I know" she smiles and leans in for a kiss, pulling back she pulls out her phone.

Meredith
I really can't help but laugh, only something like this would happen here. Bailey had called a meeting for all staff, telling us to stay out of the OR and somewhere where we will be safe. Arizona and I decided to head to my office. Callie and Maggie somehow ended up following us. Callie had given a cookie to Maggie. So anyway, here we are, four of us in my office. Callie and Maggie, had taken over the couch, leaving Arizona and I the chair. I sat down, pulling Arizona on to my lap, "so now what?" honestly I still wasn't feeling anything, but I knew it was best to not leave this room. "I want cheese" Maggie spoke up. "don't you want some cheese?" I look up and she's looking at Callie, who seems to be lost looking at something on the wall, or maybe it was out the window, I wasn't sure. Maggie is rambling about the different kinds of cheese. Causing Arizona to laugh "do they deliver cheese?" Maggie asked
"maybe" I laugh.
"can we get some?" she asks looking at Callie who shrugged, and says "pizza sounds good"
"hmm pizza" Arizona hums "text Bailey and see if she'll order us pizza" she says looking at me. I could tell it was going to hit her the hardest, since she's the one who has ate more cookies. So far so good, I let out a sigh. "Bailey says she's not our mom and to order the damn pizza ourselves" Callie giggles.
"can we get cheese?" Maggie asks in a tone of voice I have never heard, I look up and she's looking at Callie, with a look I have never seen from her. I feel Arizona move on my lap and hear her whisper in my ear "she's in love" looking at my sister I could see it. "Callie too" Arizona says then kisses my neck. I have to bite back a moan as she hits that spot that always turns me on. "and they aren't the only ones" I have to laugh, I knew exactly how my wife feels about me. "I wish we were alone right now" Arizona whispers. Oh how I wish that were true, Arizona moves again and I find myself lost in her eyes, and I'm tempted to kick the others out so I can have my way with my wife. "I ordered 3 pizzas'" Callie's voice breaks us out of our trance.
"and cheese?" Maggie asks looking at her
"I'm sorry honey, they don't sell just cheese" Callie says, Maggie let's out a whine causing Arizona and I to giggle. I look up and see Callie place a soft kiss on Maggie's lips. We may have pushed them to come out, but now that they have everyone could tell how happy they are.
"I don't think I need my neck anymore" Maggie says causing us all to laugh.
"what are we going to do in here until this wears off" Arizona asks looking at me.
"truth or dare" Maggie says jumping up
"no" Arizona and Callie both say in unison causing us all to burst out laughing again. "I may have a deck of cards or something in a drawer in my desk" I say, although I didn't want to get up, that would mean Arizona had to move off me. "I'll look" she says kissing me and standing "which drawer?" she asks
"hmm, maybe the big one?" I say I wasn't sure, it was a while ago I was digging around in there and found them. I hear Arizona shuffling around a bit "no cards but I found this" I look up and she's holding a monopoly game.
"we are not playing that" Callie says looking at Arizona
"why?" Maggie asks looking back and forth between the two
"have you ever played that with her?"
"no" Maggie shakes her head, and I smile when Callie looks at me "have you?"
"no" I look over at my wife who is smiling and walking around the desk "come on, I'll be good" she says setting the box on the coffee table "ok, but I warned you" Callie laughs and reaches out to set the game up. Arizona grabs my desk chair, wheeling it to the coffee table. "you want this?" she asks looking at me. I shake my head, Callie is almost done setting up the board when her phone goes off, she reaches for it "this is Dr. Torres" she says into the phone "oh great, you're in the lobby?" she's quiet "find someone in light blue scrubs, and tell them to bring it to Dr. Grey's office" she pulls the phone away from her ear "the pizzas are here" she's quiet a bit "put them on the phone please" she lets out a giggle "this is Dr. Torres, please bring those pizzas to Dr. Grey's office stat" she say and hangs up. "pizza will be here in a bit" she smiles "now what does everyone want to be" she asks going through the bag of tokens, or whatever the hell they are called. She pulls out one and tosses the bag to Arizona, who dumps them out looking for a certain one. "where is it?" I can hear Callie start to chuckle "I can't find it"
"baby what are you looking for?" I ask
"she's looking for the ship" Callie says laughing, Arizona looks up at Callie, then holds out her hand and in a voice I hope I never have to hear again she says "give it to me"
"I don't have it" Callie laughs
"you have to have it" Arizona says holding up the cover of the game box, "the game is brand new" I have to bite my lip to not start laughing when I see my wife stomp her foot and start whining "Calliope give it to me" I've never seen her act like this, I'm thinking that the cookies have something to do with it. There's a knock at the door, shaking my head, I go to answer it, seeing an intern with our pizza's, I take them and thank her. Closing the door, I turn and see Arizona is on top of Callie trying to get to her hands. "just give it to me" she whines, rolling my eyes I set the pizza's down on a table and look at Maggie, who is just sitting there staring off into space. "Arizona" I say not getting her attention "Arizona" I say louder and in the tone, I use with the kids, she turns around and looks at me. Sighing she gets off Callie. "Callie just give her the damn game piece"
"urgh fine, you're no fun" she says holding out her hand and opening it
"I knew you had it, bitch" Arizona says swiping it out of Callie's hand and sticking out her tongue at her. "how old are you?" Callie asks laughing. And what I witnessed next, had all of us, well Callie and I since Maggie was still staring off into space, almost rolling on the floor laughing. The best way to explain it is this, you know that part in Friends when Ross gets mad at Monica and does that hand thing with his fists closed? And everyone asks what that was? And they explain that it was a way to tell each other off without actually telling each other off? Well, that's what my double board-certified wife did to her ex-wife. Shaking my head, maybe I should have another cookie, I'm too sober for this. A look at my sister told me that one of us needed to stay somewhat sober. "Pizza is here" I say loudly.
"oh good I'm starved" Arizona smiles "let's eat then we can play"
"is playing a game really a good idea?" I ask as I put some pizza on a paper plate, where did these come from? I don't remember ever having them in here, shaking that thought away when I hear Arizona "yes, I want to play" letting out a sigh and rolling my eyes, I turn around handing her a plate "eat"
"someone's in trouble" Callie says in a sing song voice
"fuck you" I hear Arizona whisper
"no thanks, been there done that" Callie says taking the plate I'm handing to her "although" I look up and meet her eyes, daring her to finish the rest of her comment "never mind" she smiles. Don't get me wrong I'm happy Arizona and Callie are friends, for Sofia's sake, it makes everything easier, but sometimes, I just wish that these little comments didn't happen. I look over at my sister, who is still staring off into space "Maggie" she turns her head slowly to look at me "what was in those cookies?" she asks
"weed" Arizona say picking up a piece of pizza and shoving it in her mouth
"weed?" Maggie repeats
"yes" I say pushing the plate in front of her "eat"
"I've never done weed before" she looks up meeting my eyes, I have to bite the inside of my lip to not laugh, when she says in a serious tone "I don't think I need my neck anymore" Callie laughs and moves closer to her "just eat you'll feel better" Maggie looks at Callie "you're very pretty" she reaches up, touching Callie's face, in a very intimate way.
"can we just play the game" Arizona's voice is heard I look over at her and she's finished her pizza, smiling I take my plate and sit down. Arizona looks over at me, with the sunlight shining through the window her eyes are a brighter blue, and when she smiles, showing off her full set of dimples. I can feel my heart melt. I love this woman and nothing nor anyone will ever change that.

Arizona
Meredith was finally sober enough to drive us home, Amelia had gotten the kids from day care and school, Sofia included, thank god, since both her mom's were high. Callie and Maggie obviously came home with us. All the way home Maggie kept talking about cheese, which is making me want some. Pulling into the driveway, I hear Meredith let out a deep sigh, looking at her "you ok?"
"yeah I'm good" she turns to me smiling, Callie and Maggie had gotten out of the car. "are you sure?" I ask, seeing her nod and smile "yes"
"I'm sorry you got stuck in a room with 3 high people today" she looks at me, shaking her head "Arizona it's not that, I just" she stops and looks away "you just what?" I ask softly, she takes a deep breath "I just wanted you all to myself"
"well" I say looking at the house "Callie is pretty much sober now, why don't we let her take care of her girlfriend, and the kids, and head up to bed early"
"we can't do that"
"why?" leaning over I whisper "did I mention one of the kids is hers?" she chuckles as I lean in to kiss her. She smiles into the kiss and deepens it, pulling me as close as she can in the confines of the car. When the kiss came to an end "come on, let's go to bed" she says pulling the keys out of the ignition and opening the door. She didn't have to tell me twice; I always want her. Our plans were short lived when we walked into the house and into chaos, Bailey was on his car thing running into everything and Ellis was running around screaming. Sofia and Zola seemed to be calmly sitting on the couch watching something on a tablet. Amelia and Cristina come out of the kitchen, Cristina had a bottle of what I'm assuming to be tequila in her hand "her fault" she says pointing to Amelia.
"what the hell" Meredith screams
"well" Amelia says "I was on my way out of the hospital and I ran into Cristina, and when I told her you guys were the ones who ate the cookies she decided to come with me"
"we stopped for ice cream, and" Cristina says with a smile
"how much ice cream, the whole shop?" Meredith says
"well" Cristina shrugs and goes back into the kitchen.
"alright guys time for bed" Meredith says to her kids.
"but mom it's still early" Zola complains
"and momma is here" Sofia starts, rolling my eyes I let out a sigh "Callie?" I call but get no reply "they went upstairs" Cristina smiles
"well fuck" Meredith mumbles then looks at me, I just nod, knowing what she's thinking, our time will have to wait. She looks back at the two women who did this to her kids "you get to take them to the park and wear off some of this energy"
"but Mer" Cristina starts to protest
"fine outside then" she points to the back door, Cristina groans "fine" she moves to the door "Bailey, Ellis, let's go outside and play" I'm almost knocked off my feet when the two hyper minions run into the kitchen, and out the back door. Cristina slamming the door behind her "you too" Meredith says, I look over and she's talking to Amelia, who then rolls her eyes and goes outside. "if they're gonna get the kids all hyped up on sugar, they're the ones that are going to have to take care of them" Meredith says as she starts cleaning up the mess. "Zola, Sofia get in here"
"she's mad" I hear Sofia say
"we didn't do anything" Zola says as they make their way into the kitchen "mom we didn't even have that much ice cream, it was them" Zola points outside
"and only because aunt Cristina told them to eat a lot" Meredith lets out a groan, and take a deep breath "ok, but will you two please help us clean this mess up?" Sofia and Zola look at each other, both shrug and start cleaning. "thank you" Meredith says, meeting my eyes. I give her a smile and we get to work. I decide to start in the living room, where most the mess is. Bending down to pick up a toy I cringe when I hear a loud "oh god" coming from upstairs, followed by a "yes right there" rolling my eyes I went over to the radio and turned it on, loud enough to drown out the noises coming from upstairs. And make a mental note to talk, no yell at them when I see them again. There are kids in this house and they don't need to be hearing that.

Meredith
Finally falling into bed, hours after we had gotten home. It had taken forever to wear out Ellis and Bailey, but once the sugar wore off they both passed out. Arizona rolls over and lays her head on my chest, leaning down I kiss her forehead, I could tell she would be out in a matter of minutes. "I love you" she mumbles into my chest. "I love you too" I say letting out a deep sigh.
"I'm sorry you didn't get to have your way with me"
"there's always tomorrow"
"hmm, tomorrow" she hums softly and I hear her breathing even out, and a soft snore start to come out of her. Letting out another sigh, I kiss her forehead again and close my eyes, sleep would be good.
